Lost Platinum and Diamond Engagement Ring Found in Nashville, TN

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

Greg contacted me on the afternoon of November 10th after finding me on TheRingFinders website. He explained that his fiancé, Jenn, lost her platinum and diamond engagement ring in or near the parking lot of his condo in Nashville. I was several hours away, but told Greg I could be there at 10 PM that night, or the following afternoon. Greg asked that I conduct the search the following day when I was available. I met Greg at his complex at around noon and he showed me the areas where he and Jenn thought the ring might have come off her finger while she was making an exaggerated movement. It did not look promising since this search area was about 85% paved asphalt parking with sidewalks on three sides and narrow grassy areas making up the other 15%. My fear was that it was lost on the asphalt and found by another nearby resident.

I used my XP Deus 2 metal detector and began grid searches on the grassy areas on either side of the asphalt parking area, finding only junk metal and a few coins. I then began searching the narrow landscaping strip filled with thick ivy and shrubs that Jenn was facing when her ring flew off her finger. This landscape strip was NINETY feet away from where Jenn had been standing. There was also a tall chain link fence down the entire length of that strip with the other side being inaccessible to me. Although I thought it was very unlikely that Jenn’s ring ended up ninety feet away from her, I continued my grid search of this area. After checking no less than fifty signals which consisted mostly of pull tabs, pocket change and other miscellaneous junk metal, I got a strong signal that piqued my interest. Deep amongst the ivy leaves, entirely hidden from plain sight was Jenn’s stunning engagement ring.

I dusted the ring off before sharing the good news with Greg, who was looking through the ivy about fifty feet to my left. I showed Greg a handful of the pull tabs, coins and other metal stuff that I had removed from the ivy. Greg had a somber look on his face, believing that those were the only things I had found. I then pulled Jenn’s ring from my pocket and said, “and then I found this! Does this look like her ring.” The look on his face was priceless. This was an absolutely gorgeous ring and I was super excited to recover it for Greg and Jenn. I kinda enjoy being “that guy with a metal detector” when people tell stories about their lost treasures being found when they feared they were lost forever.

So before Greg initially contacted me, he thought about buying a metal detector to search for the ring himself. He then did more research online and read that learning how to use a metal detector properly can takes quite a long time, and time was not on his side. He made the right decision by contacting an experienced metal detectorist (me in this case). More often than not when people buy a metal detector to find their lost items, they only get frustrated with the machine because they don’t know how to use it. A high percentage of the jewelry recoveries that I have done were cases where the owner, their friend or family member of theirs used a metal detector to look for the item themselves, and admit to even swinging the coil over the exact location where I found the item with one of my detectors. When I offer to show my clients how to use the metal detector that they bought or borrowed, they always say thanks, but no thanks, and say they would rather just call me instead, and I’m good with that.

Lost White Gold Wedding Band Found in Franklin, TN

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

Nov. 7th I got a call from Sue in Franklin, TN after she found me on The RingFinder directory. She said her husband, Howard, just lost his white gold wedding band while doing some work in the front yard. A pretty severe storm was heading towards Middle TN with even a chance of lightning, so it was decided that I would conduct the ring search on Sunday.

Even though Howard and Sue were a few hours away from their home, Howard gave me his address and described the areas where he thought he may have lost his ring. I arrived at Howard and Sue’s property at about 2:00 P.M. I fired up my XP Deus 2 metal detector and started a grid search. About ten minutes later I got the signal I was hoping for. The beautiful gold ring was actually buried in some mud, presumably from being stepped on after it was lost. I cleaned it up so I could surprise Howard when he and Sue arrived back at their house.

Howard said he had worn his wedding ring every day for over forty years, and the thought of losing it forever was unthinkable.

I find great joy in reuniting people with their lost treasures, especially when they have given up all hope in ever seeing their lost item again. If you lose a ring, bracelet, earring, necklace or pretty much anything that has some metal content (keys, hearing aid, cell phone, etc.) contact your nearest ring finder on TheRingFinders.com directory.

Jim’s 14 karat yellow gold classic style wedding band Found by professional metal detectorist and owner of METAL DETECTING ADVENTURES in Maryland

Jim and Maureen celebrate the return of one of Jim’s most priceless material possessions…his wedding ring that Maureen placed on his finger almost 28 years ago

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (also known as THE RING HERO) searches  Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses and Vehicles. He Will Find Your Lost Item! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Jim and Maureen have been married for 28 years. One of the saddest days they’ve ever had was when Jim noticed that his 14 karat yellow gold classic style wedding band was missing from his finger.

Jim and Maureen searched everywhere outside and a few places in the house but all of their search efforts led to no avail. The distraught husband had a strong hunch that the wedding band was lost outside when he was shutting off the water for the upcoming winter months. He was organizing the sprinkler hoses which were wet and cold.

At some point after Jim had given up all hope that he would find the ring, he looked online and found THE RING FINDERS, an elite international directory of metal detectorists who specialize in finding lost rings and other valuable items. I was so happy that Jim found me on the directory and in no time we planned a time for me to come out the very next day.

After Jim and Maureen showed me around their property, I got right to work and in no time I was able to recover Jim’s handsome sentimental keepsake! The jewel was found with my metal detector in the grass of the couple’s backyard lawn, in the vicinity of where Jim had been walking around and working near the back patio.

I could not have been happier for my clients and when I showed Jim his very special treasure, we both embraced and celebrated the return of the wedding band that was placed on his finger by his wife Maureen nearly 28 years ago!

Before I left the property, the three of us bowed our heads and thanked the Lord for answering our prayer which we lifted up to God just prior to me starting the ring search. I was so happy that God was my hero so that I could be a ring hero for Jim and Maureen!

Lost Gold Wedding Ring Found Minnesota

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

Cian and his wife went out for a jog around a Minneapolis park. After returning home, he noticed his gold wedding band was missing. He searched the internet for help and discovered theringfinders.com and promptly gave me a call. Cian told me he had gloves on while jogging and remembers taking them off just prior to reaching his car. He had in his mind, that the ring came off when he removed his gloves and had to be in a 50 yard by 50 yard area of the park grass. I told him to check his gloves as I have found rings hiding in them before. He said he checked and the ring wasn’t there. 50 by 50 yards is a pretty large area to detect. I came up with a plan to grid search near his car first and then slowly move down a hill to a sidewalk they had been jogging on. This park was established almost 120 years ago and has a lot of lost coins/trash/everything. Not trying to sound pompous here, though we ring finders have decades of experience and have a knowledge of the tones our metal detectors are giving us. If I were to dig every piece of metal, I would be in that park for weeks if not months. After an hour and half of detecting, I knew the ring was not here. I told Cian, we’ve ruled out this place, so you can focus on your car and house for the search. As I was driving home, Cian text me with some great news. He found the ring, and it was in his gloves. He said he patted them down prior to my search and when he got home after the search, he decided to put them on and the ring was hiding in the finger tip of the glove. Of-course I don’t count this one as a ring finders find, though I helped him clear the area he was so focused on which gave him the drive to look elsewhere.

Congratulations Cian, glad you have your wedding band back where it belongs!

Sentimental Gold Cross Pendant, With Diamonds, Lost In The Saco Maine Grass and Leaves, Found With A Metal Detector

  • from Old Orchard Beach (Maine, United States)

I received a call from Lori, on Monday, November 3rd, concerning a lost Gold Cross Pendant , with Diamonds. Lori’s son, Anakin, and his friend, Caleb, had been playing football, in the backyard, after school. Once they were inside Lori’s home, Caleb noticed his Gold Cross Pendant was missing but the necklace was still around his neck. Everyone searched the backyard but they were unable to find the Gold Cross. They even went back out and searched, in the dark, with flashlights, to no avail. We made plans for me to search, first thing the next morning ,Tuesday. Caleb didn’t have school, at Thornton Academy, because it would be Election Day and all of the City of Saco Government wards, vote at Thornton Academy. Caleb would be able to show me exactly where he had been in the backyard, which would be a big help.

Tuesday morning, I arrived promptly at 8:00am and was shown the area to be searched by Caleb, Lori and Anakin. The backyard isn’t very big and I was confident I would find it, if it was there. Caleb wasn’t even sure, if the Gold Cross had been lost in the yard. He was concerned that he had lost it at school, as he was removing his backpack and then putting it back on, throughout the day. Caleb was also concerned that he had lost it, while walking to Anakin’s and Lori’s home, almost a mile, from Thornton Academy. The school and the walk presented problems because anyone could have seen the Gold Cross, in those public areas and kept it. Our best chance at a recovery is for the Gold Cross, to be in the yard. I was told the Gold Cross with Diamonds was a very special gift, to Caleb, from his mother. I could see the hurt in Caleb’s eyes and want to so much, find this special gift, for him.

Now the home is located at the Cote Funeral Home, in Saco. Cote Funeral Home is a very well known and respected local business, that is family owned and on their 5th generation, of Funeral Directors. WOW!!!

As I started grid searching the area, I couldn’t believe how much metal was not only in the area, but also in the ground. Fencing, generator, underground wiring, sprinkler heads are tough but then Lori told me that a home had been torn down, when the expansion of the Cote Funeral Home happened, many years earlier. Could this have been why there was so much metal, in the ground? A demolition would certainly explain a lot of metal, in the ground. After grid searching the backyard, the flower garden and a small area, on the other side of the fence, I was not able to locate Caleb’s Gold Cross Pendant. I suggested to Lori, to notify the Saco Police Department, in the event someone found it on the side walk. I also suggested that they contact Thornton Academy, in the event it had been found at the school. Lori was already ahead of me and told me that they had already contacted TA and the Saco Police. I wished them well and told them to don’t give up searching because these items sometimes are found days, months and yes, even years later.

When I am not able to find someone’s lost item, it bothers me and it bothers Gary Hill , as well. We just don’t enjoy disappointing our clients. It feels like we’ve let our clients down, when we are unable to locate their lost items. I go over the unsuccessful search, in my mind and think if there is anything else I could have done. I just had a bad taste in my mouth, about all the metal, in the search area. That much metal can absolutely cause us to miss such a small thing like the Gold Cross Pendant. Metal in and above the ground can interfere with a metal detector’s ability to find a small gold cross by creating false signals, masking the small target, and reducing the detector’s accuracy. As I thought about it, I decided to go back to Cote’s Funeral Home and search the area, for a second time. Since I had searched the area, with my 11’ coil, I decided to search the area with my 8” elliptical coil. This is my most sensitive coil, to small gold and because it is much smaller than my 11” coil, I would be able to try and isolate a smaller area, under my coil, resulting in less metal being detected, at the same time. If I could isolate the gold cross pendant, under the coil, I would have a much better chance of finding Caleb’s pendant. I immediately called Lori and asked if I could come over, sometime in the next few days and search the area, again. Lori was 100% behind this idea.

So today, Monday November 10th, I went back over to Cote’s Funeral Home, with my 8””sniper” coil. I live less than a quarter mile, around the corner, from Cote’s Funeral Home so I decided that if I wasn’t successful today , I would try again tomorrow. Once I arrived I decided to perform an East – West grid search pattern, as I had already done a North – South pattern, in my earlier search. I started in the corner, next to the generator and once again, couldn’t get close to it, because of all the metal, above and below the ground. Once I was searching, in the open yard, I was still getting lots of metal, but nowhere near what I was getting, with the 11” coil. I was able to isolate the targets much better, with the smaller coil. I was also using a different metal detecting program. I was using the most sensitive program, on my Minelab Manticore, the Goldfield Program. This program along with my most sensitive coil was hopefully the winning combination. I was now feeling very confident ,that if the cross was here, I would find it, with this setup. As I plodded along, I was getting many non ferrous, low conductive targets, which is what I was looking for. Unfortunately all those targets were in the ground and the Gold Cross would still be above the ground. I was now about an hour into the search and about 1/2 to 3/4 of the area had been searched. As I was about to finish up another section of yard, I received another great gold signal. I looked down and couldn’t see anything but grass and leaves. I took my pinpointer out and as I was running it through the grass, I heard the target and caught a very small glimpse of something gold. I looked again and there was a very small gold cross. I couldn’t believe it. Caleb’s gold cross has been found. I called Lori and said, “Guess what I just found?” Lori literally screamed, in delight. She told me she would be right home, in 5 minutes. I left the gold cross, in the grass as I found it and showed Lori just how well it was hiding. Lori then told me that Caleb just had surgery, for a torn ACL, just a few days ago and after I had met him, almost a week earlier. Caleb was in pain still, from the surgery and hasn’t been sleeping well. He is at home recuperating and Lori was going to drive right over to Caleb’s house and surprise him and hopefully cheer him up a bit. I was so happy that Caleb will soon have his Gold Cross back. This should definitely be a mood booster.

Later that afternoon, Lori texted me and said , “Thank you again, so much. He was so thrilled and so was his mom. See the attached photo.” Lori sent me a photo of Caleb, recuperating , with a big smile on his face. Even though I haven’t seen Caleb, since he received his very special Gold Cross back, I got the biggest smile on my face, seeing him holding his cross, and the big smile on his face. Another smile and another piece of jewelry back with the rightful owner. There in no better feeling, in the world, than to help people, like Caleb. I have the best job, in the world. Here’s wishing Caleb a speedy and healthy recovery 😀❤️🙏

Wedding Ring Found In Jenison, MI

  • from Holland (Michigan, United States)

Received a text from Micah stating he thinks he lost his wedding ring while raking his lawn. I arrived after he got out of work and he explained that he raked his whole yard and bagged the leaves. About 2 hrs later he was out shopping with his wife and noticed his wedding ring was missing. His best guess was that it must be in his yard somewhere and it was not a small yard. He was pretty worried that he would never find it. He showed me the bags of leaves next to the garage and I said we would start by searching the bags. On the fourth bag of leaves I got the sweet sound of GOLD. We dumped the bag out and there was the beautiful yellow gold wedding band. He and his wife have been married for 2 years and we just saved the cherished item.

Washed Away the Soap and the Sparkle

  • from Kilgore (Texas, United States)

On Saturday Tori decided her German Shepherd needed a bath. As she finished she noticed her wedding rings were gone. She immediately started backtracking. Did it come off while using the hose or the blower drying her dog? With no luck finding her rings her husband bought a metal detector on his way home from work. He read the instructions and watched a few YouTube videos. They both search until midnight with no luck. Tori decided to try a search online and came across The Ring Finders website and texted me. Just so happens I was off and with in one hour of receiving her text I was headed to try and find her rings. After arriving we spent a few minutes going over where the washing took place. To our surprise I found her rings in less then fifteen minutes. A day with so much anxiety ended on a high note.

“I located your information through Ring Finders and would like your help in locating my husband’s titanium wedding band.  It slipped off of his finger into our yard yesterday and we have been looking to no avail.  We live In Yadkinville and hope that you are able to help us find his ring.”

11:32am I spoke with Sue whom was able to provide detailed information that her husband had worked in the yard on Saturday, ending by washing his hands beside their home.  He shook his hands to dry them and immediately realized his wedding band slipped off.  Sue said they searched and raked the immediate area until after dark with negative results.  Recently moving to North Carolina she advised they had a trip planned to visit the Baltimore Estate and that her husband had said he feels naked as he has not been without his wedding band since they married.  In hopes to find a solution she searched the internet for “how to find ring” and discovered The Ring Finders website and contacted me being her closest resource.  I let her know I was in the next county and would be glad to assist them and would arrive after lunch.

They walked through the series of events including how he was standing when shaking his hands and the direction of the thud sound.  I retrieved my equipment and began a scan of the area.  The area did have many iron signals however I located the ring within a few minutes.  Recovered only 4-5 feet from where he was standing and immediately in the area they searched previously.

Lost Diamond Cross Pendant on Elementary School Playground…Found in Darnestown, Maryland

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Yvette’s 14 karat white gold and multiple diamond cross that item recovery specialist Brian Rudolph recovered for his client in one second!

Yvette and Richard express their excitement for the amazing recovery of the couple’s very sentimental crucifix which was given by Richard 24 years earlier.

Yvette is a teacher in Darnstown, Maryland. During recess, one of her students ended up breaking Yvette’s gold chain off of her neck. As a result, a very special 14 karat white gold and multiple diamond cross (which her husband had given her 24 years earlier) went missing somewhere on the playground. The chain and three charms were eventually recovered but when Yvette and her staff searched for the missing pendant, all of their efforts led to no avail.

Yvette was heartbroken over the loss of her special crucifix. She immediately called her husband Richard for help and he heroically drove to the school with a metal detector hoping to find the lost piece of jewelry. After an hour of searching, Yvette’s husband threw in the towel and it was time to look for another solution.

I received a phone call from Yvette shortly after Richard had finished using the metal detector that he acquired to conduct their own search. They looked online and found my company, METAL DETECTING ADVENTURES INC which highlighted my successes in an elite directory of metal detectorists called THE RING FINDERS. I was excited to be asked to come to the search site to see if I could solve the mystery of the missing pendant!

When I arrived at the elementary school, I was greeted by Yvette, Richard and 20 excited children who were part of an after-school program. They were beyond intrigued to see if this item recovery specialist who was hired to save the day might possibly find Yvette’s beloved diamond cross.

I gathered up the necessary metal detecting equipment in my vehicle and then headed over to the search site with my client. The Bar-T children excitedly waited outside of the fenced in area of the tot lot in order to let the professional do his miracle work. And boy did a miracle happen!

As soon as I entered into the playground area, I asked my client where the three charms were recovered after the necklace was torn off of her neck Yvette pointed to the concrete sidewalk on the other side of the fenced-in area where all of the restless children were watching and waiting. I put my head over the fence and looked straight down where the children were hanging out. Literally within a second’s time, my eyes immediately locked in on Yvette’s missing 14 carat white gold and diamond cross! I couldn’t believe it! In one second I recovered my client’s beloved crucifix! I quickly and excitedly pointed directly at the discovered sentimental keepsake and yelled, “There it is!” All of the children including my clients looked straight down at where I was pointing and yet no one at first saw what I had identified! And then a moment later there was an eruption of cheers and excitement as I made my way through the playground gate in order to retrieve the little gold treasure that had been patiently waiting to be recovered! There it was… Yvette’s very special jewel! The search was over before it had officially begun!

Yvette’s beautiful diamond crucifix had been lying right there in the middle of the concrete that entire time since it was lost hours earlier that day! Countless adults and children had walked right over it and no one had any idea that the white gold and multiple diamond pendant had been resting there all along!

I have to admit that in all of the years of recovering hundreds of pieces of jewelry and other highly valued items for people, I have never found an item this quick before! What a fun “eyeball” recovery search indeed! The kids went crazy! I hugged my clients with jubilation and joy while many of the children extended their hands for countless fist pumps and high fives!

I will never forget this particular search story because this was a very rare situation. While I returned the metal detecting equipment to my vehicle, Yvette and Richard shared the amazing moment with teachers who opened up their windows on the second floor of the school just to find out what the commotion was all about! They too couldn’t believe where I located the cross!

As a metal detectorist and item recovery specialist, these are the kind of stories that continue to bring me great joy when sharing them with countless others who need the kind of hope and relief that I was able to successfully extend to my very happy clients, Yvette and Richard!

FAMILY HEIRLOOM RING FOUND IN WATERFALL

  • from Carmel (Indiana, United States)

LOST RING, CARMEL, IN

I had recently moved to Carmel, IN, and was itching to take on my next ring recovery. Not long after, I received a call from Dylan, who had lost no ordinary wedding ring. It had belonged to his grandfather, who had it crafted from the wedding rings of his own parents, Dylan’s great-grandparents. Generations of family history were tied into this single band. The ring slipped off at Hueston Woods State Park in Ohio, beneath a small waterfall pool where family and friends were escaping the heat.

The moment the ring was lost was chaotic and memorable. A group of kids upstream had been exploring the shallow river when they spotted a water snake and began chasing it, right toward the parents. The snake splashed into the pool, prompting a quick scramble to the surface. After nearly escaping, Dylan realized his ring was missing. Devastated, he returned the following week with a rented metal detector; however, his search was interrupted by the same snake!

Recovering the ring wouldn’t be simple. Since the ring had been lost in a state park where metal detecting is typically prohibited, I first contacted park staff and received written permission. I began the search in the pool and quickly realized I wouldn’t be able to dig due to the shale rock bottom. I had to resort to diving with a mask and retrieve every signal by hand. After several dives and plenty of lures, coins, and bits of trash, no ring was in sight. Near the edge of the pool, the detector finally gave a strong signal. I lifted a large flat stone, and there it was!

Handing the ring back to Dylan and seeing the relief on his face is something I will never forget. Recoveries like this remind me that sometimes we return more than a lost ring. We return a piece of a family’s story.
