On Sunday morning August 11th,I received a text message regarding a lost wedding ring buried in the sand at Carlsbad state beach the day before,This is another urgent 911 Ring Finders call as there are too many Detector guys that scan this area daily/nightly combined with the limited weekend warrior parking plus crowded beaches that could very well render this recovery astray …So I was on my way immediately to help as usual…

Soon enough,I met the 3 good friends of the owner and they pointed out an area in the dry sand where they all were enjoying the beach the day before.I began scanning with my metal detector while finding lots of hidden trash for about 15-20min when I received a particular low tone reading that gave me hopes it could be the Ring I was called to search for?…As I dug it up, I was shocked seeing 2 rings in the sand scoop? Instantly after showing them what I just found it was definitely time to celebrate 🎉

The best part of these calls is when the owner gets contacted with a picture of their ring/rings after it has been safely found! Time to cheer and take photos:) I’m sure this meant a lot to them and was glad to of help find what may of been lost forever.

I received a call from Donnie requesting my services to find his wife’s wedding ring which was lost along road way in the park.

Donnie explained that the ring was lost on Tuesday evening and he had spent three days looking for the ring he even purchased a metal detector but to no avail. Donnie had planned on heading back early Saturday morning armed with a flashlight to try again, then he decided to check the internet for tips on finding lost rings, he found “Theringfinder” web site and contacted me.

I agreed to meet Donnie at the park he showed me the area where the ring could be. The area was dense tall grass and brush which made the search very difficult to find anything especially a tiny platinum ring.

I decided to change my search coil to a six inch double-d smart coil which made the search easer around the dead thick foliage and within about fifteen minutes I heard a sweet tone. I found the ring and when I showed Donnie the ring he could not believe how quickly I had found it. I explained to him that it takes years of experience to learn how a metal detector works and that each metal detector is unique, that’s why you hire a professional.

Donnie was very happy to have the ring back and return it to his wife.

Lost Gold Ring In The Grass Found In Novi Michigan

The pictured young beauty was out tanning yesterday and after slathering up the suntan lotion her ring came off in between trips to her apartment getting cold drinks for the guests. They didn’t realize it was missing until dark, so they combed the grass and searched thru towels and what not to no avail. When I talked with her we agreed to meet today and search the area. The grass was long so I started to search the path she remembered taking into the apartment.
After about 10 min I got a nice solid signal in the ring range on the MXT meter reading about 2″ deep. Pin pointing thru the grass revealed this little beauty with a golden tan all it’s own! She was thrilled that her golden ring was found and enjoyed posing for some pics. Now she can relax, and catch some more rays! Even tho she knows the look of tan lines are hard to pull off, her ring will stay on!

Wedding band recovered in Seaside Heights/Park NJ by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call from Kevin and Karishma, While at the waters edge with his child a wave caught him and off slid his wedding band. When I got there and saw the waves I thought this wasn’t going to be an easy one. Tide was going out so I tried the slope some then worked my way into the water best I could with the waves coming in the way the were. Plus it didn’t help there were kids and people all over not wanting to move for me. Finally I just couldn’t work the water anymore getting hit with waves, I told her I’d give it one more shot on the slope because everyone left. Back and forth on the 3rd pass I got a good hit on the detector and in 2 scoops of sand I had his ring. They were so happy and I a great feeling know I got his ring back for him.

Lost wedding ring recovered from Penobscot Bay Maine

I received a call from Steven Kennedy visiting from Seattle, WA ; who lost his gold and platinum wedding band during a swim in Penobscot Bay at his sister’s summer home in Northport, Maine. I proceeded to the site the following day just prior to low tide and began my dive. After removing some metallic debris from the seabed that hindered the search, I was able to locate the ring which rested covered in about an inch of sand in about 6 feet of water and return it to Steve.  A portion of his generous reward will be directed to Literacy Volunteers Mid Coast Maine.

Wedding ring recovered in Huntington Beach by The Ring Finders

I received a call from Chanel to see if I could help her find her wedding ring. She had been at dog beach when she realized her ring was slipping off her finger so she took it off and put it on top of her backpack. Soon after a dog was digging in the sand and threw sand on top of her backpack, forgetting about her ring she picked up the backpack to shake off the sand and her ring disappeared.

Chanel met me at the beach and we walked to the area where she had been the day before. I started searching and right away I got several signals, a dog tag, 2 toy monster trucks and a dime. The next signal sounded really good and when I scooped up some sand I saw her ring in the hole. I called her over to look in the hole and she reached in and grabbed it with a big smile on her face.

Sentimental Heirloom Pendant Lost at Manhattan Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

RJ called me in the afternoon on a hot day for a search. He had been at the beach the day before, and before going in the water he remembered putting his necklace with pendant into his bag. When he left though the necklace was gone, he figured in the beach sand. This piece of jewelry was given to him by his mother. It had been worn by his grandfather while he fought in World War 2. The pendant had the word LUCK written in Hebrew, and it meant the world to him. I came right away.

When I arrived there was still a lot people on the sand, but RJ believed that it was in an area that people were not in at the time. I did a search the best I could, but was not able to find the ring. I let him know I would go back when everyone had gone home. I got there about 8:30 PM, and began my search. After about 1 1/2 hours, and many bottle caps, pennies, and tin foil, I got another good signal. When I dug, there in my scoop was the pendant, not where he had thought it was, in fact way over to the other side of where he had conducted me earlier. This is the reason it is best to get on the search as soon as possible, because over time people tend to forget exact details that we as Ring Finders need in order to have a successful search. Of course we need to think and search “out of the box” at times in order to have a complete search of an area, and this is what was done this time. I sent RJ a text to let him know I found the pendant and chain, and arranged to meet him at the bar he was at to return it. Needless to say RJ was very happy that night!

Sentimental Silver Ring Lost at Malibu Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

I received a call from Roy, he had been throwing a football to his friend at the beach, when his ring flew off of his hand. He did not think it went into the water, even though he was close. I told him I would be there as soon as I could to perform a search for him. The ring was given to him by his father who had since passed away, so this ring had extreme sentimental value to him.

When I arrived he took me to the area, and showed me what had happened. It seemed like it should’ve been an easy search, but the tide was coming in, and less sand was exposed. It was about 7:00 PM, and tide was almost at its highest, and all the area he thought it might have landed in did not have the ring. After completely searching the area, I was disheartened to have to tell Roy, that his ring was not in the area I searched, but told him that I would come back at 12:00 AM to do a second search when the tide had receded, and he was welcome to meet me for the search. Roy decided not to go, so I was on the beach in the darkness doing my grid alone at 12:00 AM. About 1 1/2 hours later down the slope 30 feet from where I was searching earlier (30 feet further out in the water earlier), I received a real nice signal, and dug. One scoop, and his ring was shining in my headlight. I sent him a text at 1:30 AM to let him know the ring was secure. I did not hear anything back from him until the next morning, at which time he was totally in disbelief that I was able find his ring. Because of work arrangements we had to wait a week in order to get his ring back. When we finally met, I was able to give this memory of his father back to him, and completely make his day. What a great service to be a part of!

Car Key Lost in the Sand at Sunset Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

I got a call from Christopher about a key he lost in the sand at the beach. It seems he was using another key on the key ring to cut something when his car key snagged on something, and the blade of the key snapped off of the plastic door opener it was attached to, and flew into the sand. After thoroughly searching for it he found me on The Ring Finders web site, and asked for help. After describing what had happened, I let him know I would be there as soon as I could to conduct a search for him.

When I arrived, Christopher took me over to the area of the loss. He explained again what happened, and showed me where he believed the key to have flown. I turned my detector on, swung once, got a good signal, and after scooping the sand, had his key in my scoop. He was so happy, and relieved because he could not leave without the blade of the key. A very short search, made an extremely happy gentleman!

Lost & Found Ring in Langley BC…

I received a call at 8:30 p.m on Sunday in regards  to a lost ring at a  playground in Langley. The young man told me that the ring belonged to his 5 year old daughter and it was just given to her that day from her grandmother. The story was that the girls grandmother just arrived back from Ireland where she bought the ring for her granddaughter. It was lost only 4 hours after she was given the ring.

I was getting ready to hit the hay as I had to get up at 4:30 am when Scott called, I knew this had to be looked for that evening as a lot of people search playgrounds and that ring could have been found the next day. I jumped into my car and headed 25 minutes down the road to Langley to help find the ring.

It was just starting to get dark when I arrived and Scott showed me the area his daughter was playing in, so I started my search. About 20 minutes into the search I found the ring!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I love my job! Scott was so happy that the ring was found and I’m sure grandmother would be too!
