Metal Detector Rental

I’ve been on a lot of lost ring hunts over the years.  I’ve found 65 rings to date and probably not found another 65.  Every hunt is different, and I rarely say no to a search.  When I got a call recently to look for a ring along the side of the road … I couldn’t say no.  As many lost ring finders know, side of road searches are tough.  There is a ton of trash and it’s dangerous. This search was for a lost ring that was lost after a head on car accident.  Unfortunately, the driver was killed and his ring was never found.  After reading a story about another lost ring hunt I did in the paper, the woman called me to see if I could search for her late husband’s lost ring. Her family had thought about looking for a metal detector rental, but wisely called a professional instead.

Even though the ring had been lost months earlier, it was still sitting just below the grass.  Can you spot it in the picture? Check out the full story below about why you shouldn’t look for a metal detector rental either and instead call a lost ring finder. Included in the story is also a link to the full video which ran on my local NBC station.  They such an amazing job telling the story of the couple and the lost ring and why it meant so much to her. It is moving, so make sure you have a tissue ready.

Metal Detector Rental – Road Side Ring Found!

FIRST FIND IN THE SNOW, WINTER 2017

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

After shopping in West Kelowna, Leanne and John parked their vehicle on the street and took their groceries indoors. A short while later John realized he had lost his key set somewhere in the snow. Leanne recruited all the kids in the street to help find the keys, with no luck after two hours, then she called me for assistance and I responded immediately. The snow had been shoveled from the street and their driveway, so I started the search at their vehicle, then worked my way along the snow on the side of the driveway. Success the keys were found four inches deep in the driveway snow.

Rapunzel Throw Down Your……… Ring?

What?? That’s not how that fairy tale goes, and this story was no fairy tale for this nice young wife who wasn’t trapped in a tower but rather found herself high above in their castle’s balcony playing catch with their son on the ground. She decided to wear hubby’s ring while he was raking leaves and playing with the dogs thinking it would not fall off into the colorful foliage. As the youngster got further from the balcony the tossing of the ball back and forth needed more thrust to reach him as he zig-zagged around the yard. Suddenly she noticed the ring was gone and quite a few minutes had passed so she wasn’t sure where it may have gone. I answered her request to come by and find it. When I got on site I followed the trajectory based on where she was throwing the ball from the balcony with my MXT and lots of junk targets came up just below the grass. Finally about 30 feet from the balcony I got a nice clear signal +52 and brushing the leaves around with the pinpointer revealed this beautiful white tungsten carbide brushed ring! As you can see the king, queen and prince of the castle were elated with the recovery, the youngster loved using the detector and everyone lived happily ever after!

One Too Many Dribbles….

…..Caused this nice young man to take a time out after his white gold and diamond ring came off while doing some 1 on 1 on a half court today. I answered his call and upon arriving on site he said he looked all over the place. So I set up my MXT and searched the grass areas surrounding the practice area and didn’t come up with anything. I also checked a plugged catch basin that was in proximity to no avail. So I looked around and noticed some mulch and hedges off to one side at an apartment unit. So I checked under and around with no luck. So we took a break to rethink where else could it be and it hit me to shake the tops of the hedges and as I did I looked under and in the mulch this beautiful ring was laying in plain sight right where I had checked earlier. So the ring was stuck in the hedge the whole time! lol I scooped it up and walked over and dropped it in his hand and he about lost it with excitement as he has only been married a year and thought the ring was gone. As we talked a bit he had said he was thinking about getting a detector somewhere but I told him all he needed was a professional bush shaker!

Pigskin, Cleats and Mud!

With a new NFL season in motion this nice gentleman was out in the autumn air in SE Michigan yesterday tossing the football around with a few friends.
While reaching up in the cool air with sweaty hands to grab a long pass his wedding band slipped off. As dusk was upon them they tried to locate it in the partial soft mud left behind from their cleats to no avail. I made arrangements to meet him today as the area was not total private land. I set up my MXT and started to grid the area where the mud grass areas were he thought he was pacing around for a few plays. I got lots of junk signals and then got a +52 mixed with a junk signal. Turning 90 deg. with the bigfoot coil I got the same signal but on each pass I knew I had something good as the sound bled over to that sweet metal song. Pulling the trigger switch showed 0 depth and further pinpointing revealed this sweet chunky white/yellow gold ring with small diamonds peeking out below the grass pushed flat down from the pressure of the cleats!
So even if his favorite team doesn’t get to the superbowl this year, this was HIS championship!

Night Hunt Oak Street Beach Chicago, ILLinois

  • from Las Vegas (Nevada, United States)
Contact:

Received a call at 7:30 PM from a gentleman who had lost his White Gold and Diamond wedding band while brushing sand off his arm as he and his family were leaving the beach after a wonderful 92 degree day on September 24th.

Fortunately he found the Ringfinders website while googling “how to find ring in the sand”

Fortunately he also had the correct idea to stay on the beach and mark the location with his shoes AND IMMEDIATELY call a ringfinder!!!

One hour later he had his ring back. I took an UBER to his location, since Oak Street Beach is located just off the Magnificent Mile in Chicago. Parking is non existent..

I found his ring in less than 1 minute along with some coins.

My first night hunt!

WEDDING RING LOST GARDENING IN KELOWNA BC, RETURNED.

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

Ed was renovating his back garden when he noticed his wedding ring was missing, his wife found The Ringfinders website and he called me. I responded the next morning and checked out the worksite, he had removed the old flowerbed and replaced it with landscape cloth covering and bark mulch. My initial suspicion was that it would be in the debris in the back of his pickup, but I started my search at the new garden. That was a good choice as I found his ring under the bark mulch and  landscape cloth within five minutes.

Lost Gold and Diamond Ring Found On Softball Field in Livonia Michigan

Softball Couple Didn’t Like the Dirt on this Diamond!

Last Saturday this newly engaged couple were out with some friends tossing and batting a softball around. The lady had a ball glove on and when she took the glove off and tossed it to her friend her ring was not on her hand. She rewound her mind trying to think if she had the ring on or not when she put the glove on.
So for about 10 hrs looking at all the places on the field she was and with friends with a friends metal detector they still couldn’t locate the ring.
I answered her call and arrived today on site to discuss the details. Setting up the MXT I searched the smaller areas she remembers being. Then I went to the outfield where she remembered taking the glove off and on between fielding the fly/ground balls. Quite a bit of area to cover and grid but thanks to my bigfoot coil I was able to cover the area quickly and after an hour and a half I went towards left field and got a +22 and overload signal and thought well this was a different event that hadn’t happened with the MXT so I garrett carrot’ed the pinpoint and peeking out below the grass and dirt this beautiful ring revealed itself!
Now that’s a home run to remember!

Andrew sent an e-mail to me on September 16th and asked for my help to find his wedding ring.  He works on an organic farm and had lost his wedding ring while picking potatoes a day earlier.  Andrew dug through the soil for over two hours with no luck.  His boss told him that he may find someone who could help on the internet.  Andrew found my information on The Ring Finders website.  I met him at the farm on September 17th and located his ring in about ten minutes.  Andrew was so excited to have his wedding ring back, particularly since he had only been married for two months.
