Lost Wedding Ring While Hunting In Parkland County, Alberta

I received a call from Steve on Saturday asking for my assistance to locate his white gold ring which had been lost in the bush while hunting.  Steve explained that while he was driving out of the bush he got his truck stuck axel deep in muskeg, and had to be pulled out by the landowner.  When he realized his ring was missing  he went back home to get a metal detector.  Steve checked the location he thought the ring was in and after a couple of hours he gave up. He searched the internet on how to find rings and came upon my article in a newspaper and gave me a call.

Since the ring was lost on private land I told Steve I required permission to search his land.  Yesterday we got the ok to search, but in the mean time it had rained and snowed and the temperature had dropped to -28 Celsius over night.  I told Steve I would meet him in the afternoon as the weather was supposed to warm up to -7 Celsius.

When I met up with Steve at the location where he thought the ring was lost I was glad it had snowed the night before as it gave me an advantage to locate the ring.  I was able to track my foot steps and after about 2 hrs of searching the area with no luck Steve was getting very discouraged  and thought  the ring may have been carried away by his truck tires  somewhere else,  and that it  was pointless continuing the search.  I told Steve that he gives up to soon and told him that  if the ring is near, I will find it.

As dusk was fast approaching,  again Steve wanted to call it quits.  I told him I would get my other detector and do a quick search of the area.  I asked Steve to recall the last time he saw his ring and he told me that he had his hand in the mud and had shaken  his hand near the rear tire.

I expanded my search to about 20 feet from where the truck had been stuck, and heard Steve say ” it’s not here”,  then I heard the sweet tone of my detector!  The expression on Steve’s face was unbelievable.   He was so grateful to have his ring back on his finger.

Lost Ring Willmore Park Edson Alberta

I received a call from Rod regarding his fiancee’s lost engagement ring.  After asking Rod a few questions I agreed to drive out to Edson which is a 2 hrs drive west of Edmonton.  I told Rod to have his fiancee  call me.

Tamara called me and explained that she was walking on the trails in Willmore park and noticed that her ring was missing from her finger.  Tamara told me that she had a metal detector and had spent a few hours retracing her foot path but had not found the ring.  I asked her if she had checked her car and the clothing she was wearing that day and she told me she had gone through everything and everywhere and that her kids had also checked.

When I meet up with Tamara in Edson  I again asked her if she had checked her car and jacket pockets and she said yes,  then as we drove to the area where she thought she had lost her ring, and as I get out of  my car at the park, I heard Tamara screaming “I found my ring”.   She had found her ring in the inside pocket of her Jacket!

I received a call from Donnie requesting my services to find his wife’s wedding ring which was lost along road way in the park.

Donnie explained that the ring was lost on Tuesday evening and he had spent three days looking for the ring he even purchased a metal detector but to no avail. Donnie had planned on heading back early Saturday morning armed with a flashlight to try again, then he decided to check the internet for tips on finding lost rings, he found “Theringfinder” web site and contacted me.

I agreed to meet Donnie at the park he showed me the area where the ring could be. The area was dense tall grass and brush which made the search very difficult to find anything especially a tiny platinum ring.

I decided to change my search coil to a six inch double-d smart coil which made the search easer around the dead thick foliage and within about fifteen minutes I heard a sweet tone. I found the ring and when I showed Donnie the ring he could not believe how quickly I had found it. I explained to him that it takes years of experience to learn how a metal detector works and that each metal detector is unique, that’s why you hire a professional.

Donnie was very happy to have the ring back and return it to his wife.

Lost Iphone X! Water Works Pond! Anthony Henday South East, Edmonton Alberta

This morning I received a call from a past client requesting my services to locate an iPhone X which had landed in a pond.

Arman was driving with his friend Tandra along Ellerslie road heading east.   Tandra was on his phone when  suddenly a large bug flew into the cab and when Tundra swatted the bug out of the window, the phone went as well.

Tandra took note of the exact location where the phone landed and they tried to retrieve the phone but the water was about three feet deep and full of weeds.

When I arrived Tundra  showed me the area where the phone had landed and I must say it was a difficult area.  The pond bottom was very muddy and soft and without a metal detector his phone would never of been found.  Tundra was very happy to have his iPhone back.

Lost Car Keys! Hermitage Park, NE Edmonton Alberta.

I received a call from Carol requesting my service to find her car keys lost in the tall grass at Hermitage Park. Carol told me how she lost her keys while cutting across green space the grass is about three feet high and very dense which made it hard for her to locate her keys.
Carol and her friend had spent several hours searching with no luck. It was apparent that the keys had to be found because they were the only keys she had for her car and her car was in the parking lot which she would have had a hefty towing bill plus a new set of keys and we all know how costly that could be.
When I met up with Carol she showed me the location where she thought the keys could be. The area was approximately 250’ x 100’ feet of tall vegetation so I was able to follow the trampled path which Carol told me she had taken.
After three and a half hours Carol conceded that her keys could not be found or someone had picked them up. Carol said she was going home, I told her I would continue to search and after about 15 minutes I found her keys outside the search area. I called Carol to tell her the good news.
I must say this search was one of the hardest I’ve done in years and the moral of the story is never give up until you have exhausted all your search area.

Lost Platinum Wedding Band, Strathcona Athletic Park, Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Theresa emailed me last evening requesting my services to find her husband’s wedding band which he had lost while playing baseball at the park.

Her husband Everett  called me this morning and explained that he had lost the ring at the ball diamond and had spent a considerable amount of time looking for the ring with no luck so I agreed to meet him at the park within 45 minutes.

When I arrived Everett and Theresa were  busy looking for the ring. While setting up my equipment I gave Everett some marker flags and told him to place the flags where he thought the ring could possibly be.   Everett did a fantastic job in marking the field and it was a huge area to cover.

After about 1/2 hour I heard Theresa shout out  “I found it” and I looked up and there she was about 30 feet outside the marked area where Everett had placed the flags.  Just goes to show you never know where a ring can end up!  Fantastic job Theresa in finding Everett’s ring.

Lost Tungsten Wedding Ring, Gariepy Neighborhood, West Edmonton Alberta. Found

I received a text from Joe on Monday May 20, requesting my service to locate his lost wedding ring at a tot’s park in the Gariepy neighborhood. As I was out of town we agreed to search on Thursday.
Joe showed me where the ring came off and he told me he had his family out with him searching for a couple of hours using a rake but unfortunately they could not locate the ring.
Within ten minutes I located his ring buried in three inches of sand. Joe was very happy to have his ring back on his finger as the ring had a very sentimental value to him.

Lost 10k Gold Wedding Band, Westmount Neighborhood Edmonton, Alberta – Found

I received an email from Robert requesting my services to locate a family heirloom which had been given to him by his late grandfather. Robert told me he was gardening with his wife and he had his hands in his raised garden beds also in his flower beds. After he was done he gathered all the dead foliage into plastic bags and then he realized the ring was missing of his finger.
I told Robert I was out of town until Wednesday so I assured him that since the ring was lost on his property it was in a safe place and to not throw any of the garbage bags out until I checked them.
Once at Robert’s house he showed me where the ring could possibly be, and he checked the area for a couple of hours with no luck.
The soil in the five raised beds was eight inches deep and Robert told me that he was digging with his bare hands to the bottom of the beds. I used my propinter to check his beds and had no luck. I also checked the flower beds with no luck so then I checked his four garbage bags. The third bag contained his ring! Robert was very grateful to have his grandfather’s ring back on his finger.

Lost Gold Wedding Band McCauley Neighborhood Edmonton, Alberta

I received a call on Thursday from Mike requesting my assistance to help him find his wedding ring which he had lost a couple of weeks ago. When I asked Mike how he had lost his ring he replied that he picked up a runner off his dresser because it had some dirt on it. He had walked out of the front door to shake the runner and thought he had heard a ping noise but without realizing what it was, He returned back into the house. After a couple of days Mike realized his ring was missing from his dresser. He searched high and low for the ring in the house with no luck. He then recalled the ping nose that he had heard, and that it must have been his ring that hit the sidewalk and bounced on the lawn. Mike spent hours looking for the ring with no luck.
I stopped in on Mike this morning and he showed me the area where he thought the ring could be. I searched through dead leaves and pine needles and I told Mike that since the foliage was near the same colour as his ring it would be very hard to locate the ring with the naked eye. I searched the other side of his side walk and found his ring neatly covered in pine needles. Mike was very grateful that he had found me on the Internet.

Wedding Ring Lost Abbottsfield Neighborhood Edmonton, Alberta

After a long three weeks of brutal – 30 Celsius weather, yesterday the temperature rose to -4 Celsius and people took advantage of it.   Stuart called me requesting my service to locate his ring which he lost while on a toboggan hill.  Stuart told me he had raked the area where he believed  the ring was lost and that he also had the kids looking but had had no luck.

Stuart called me to say he would be late so I went ahead and checked the hill. The hill was covered with footprints  but I walked  to where Stuart had raked and that’s where I found his ring.  Stuart arrived within ten minutes and as usual I asked a lot of question.  Stuart began telling me how his hill experience started and said the ring could be anywhere on the hill. I pulled the ring from my pocket and asked him if this was his ring.  He was lost for words and could not believe I had found it so quickly – another happy client.
