Cheerleader at Hagerstown, Maryland High School Loses Two Sentimental Rings After Practice…Found by Ring Finder Brian Rudolph

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Echo’s sweet sixteen sterling silver Claddagh style band with heart-shaped ruby stone and a 1920’s vintage sterling silver band with diamonds, emeralds and a blue sapphire center stone.

Echo and her mother Ellen celebrate the successful recovery of both special rings by professional metal detectorist Brian Rudolph, owner of Metal Detecting Adventures Inc.

Echo did the right thing and took off her jewelry before her afternoon cheerleading practice out on her high school’s field located in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was wearing two very important gifts given to her by her family:

A sweet sixteen sterling silver Claddagh style band with heart-shaped ruby stone

A vintage sterling silver band with diamonds, emeralds and blue sapphire center stone

At some point, the girls were instructed to bring their things closer to where the team was wrapping up their routines. When the practice was over, Echo picked up her things and began walking across the field, up a hill towards the parking lot and then over to the front entrance of the sports stadium. The cheerleader had placed her two very special rings onto her bracelet prior to practice so that she would not lose them. Unfortunately, after getting picked up by her mom, the teenage girl realized that she wasn’t wearing her jewelry other than the bracelet. The rings were gone! She had never put them back on her fingers!

In a panic, the two immediately returned to the high school in order for Echo to retrace her steps and hopefully find her irreplaceable keepsakes. Sadly, echo and her mother were unsuccessful in recovering the two rings.

Echo’s mom stepped into overdrive and drove quickly back home to acquire a cheap metal detector that had been laying around for some time. Then, Ellen returned with her daughter to the high school once more to see if they could find the jewelry out on the field, along the hillside leading up towards the parking lot and then over some more grassy real estate that led from the parking lot over to the front of the high school sports stadium entrance.

Unfortunately, all of the efforts expended by mother and daughter led to no avail. The two returned home feeling beaten and depressed. At some point, Ellen found me online after searching for a professional detectorist to help solve the mystery of the missing rings. She found THE RING FINDERS, an elite international directory of metal detectorists who specialize in finding lost jewelry for their clients.

After going over the details with my client, we set up a time for me to travel out to Hagerstown, Maryland to attempt to recover the two rings. Five days later I arrived at the high school and the three of us took a tour around all of the areas where Echo had been walking on the grass (before, during and after cheerleading practice). I put flags in the ground to mark the path where the teenager moved about the day that she lost her beloved rings.

Once I acquired all of the facts that I needed to begin the search, I called the three of us together for a moment of prayer and then I reached for my necessary metal detecting gear and headed down the hill to set up my grid lines. I metal detected a large area of the hillside from top to bottom. No rings were found. The only concern that we had was that there was a chance that one of the high school students could have eyeballed one or both of Echo’s priceless jewels. The other issue of concern was that the grass had been recently cut and there was a chance that the mower could have chopped up the jewelry.

When I concluded that the rings were not anywhere on the hillside, I started to set up my grid lines further towards the area where my client picked up her belongings to start heading with her fellow team members towards the parking lot at the top of the hill.

I am excited to share that I found both rings while scanning the first grid line extended down towards the place where Echo had picked up her things. A perfect sterling silver signal appeared on my detector screen with a very encouraging tone coming through my headphones! I first found the vintage blue sapphire ring and then moments later, about a foot apart from the other ring, I was able to recover the lovely ruby heart Claddagh ring, as well! I could not have been happier for the young lady who was sitting at the top of the hill with her mother, hoping for some eventual good report.

When I surprised the two ladies, they were completely blown away by my happy news! There was so much relief in the air on that school property as the three of us rejoiced at my findings! Later on, I thanked the Lord above for answering our prayer that we offered up to Him earlier before the search began! I was so grateful that my “Heavenly Hero” helped me that day to be a “ring hero” for Echo and her mother! Perhaps the angels above were doing their own cheer for me in the spiritual realm right at the moment that I discovered the two missing rings for my client!

Wedding Ring lost in the sand, Surf City NJ, LBI, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

It was a beautiful day at the Jersey Shore, the perfect opportunity for Lisa and her friends to enjoy some time at the beach. What they didn’t plan for, however, was losing her rings in the soft, sugar-like sand so typical of these beaches. After searching for a while with no luck, someone in the group suggested calling NJ Ring Finder for help. Having heard about many successful recoveries on Long Beach Island and nearby areas, they were hopeful it wouldn’t be a wasted call.

Once I got the call, we arranged to meet shortly after. As I walked down the dune path towards the beach, I saw the group gathered in a large circle around their chairs, securing the area where the rings were lost. After a quick conversation to get the details, I got to work, carefully moving my metal detector’s coil back and forth across the sand.

Within just a few passes, the detector gave off a low, steady tone. I had a strong feeling this was it, and sure enough, BINGO—it was her ring! Everyone was amazed at how quickly the recovery happened.

Another successful search in the books. I love this job—saving vacations and creating lasting memories!

Charm lost on Volleyball Court, Allenhurst NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

I was on the road heading home from a recovery, when I saw a message come across from Alan. He lost a very sentimental gold charm, on the volleyball court the day before and was very interested to see if I would be able to locate it with my metal detector. He told me it was a private location, and with that I knew I had some time before I had to get to his recovery. I asked him to give me a call later on in the evening and I would see what other calls I had in that area and try to schedule them together.  As it turns out, I was heading up to that area the next morning and told Alan I would do his recovery right after I finished the first one I had already scheduled . I got all the details I needed, as he was 95% sure the Charm was on the volleyball court. Once I got there I made a couple of paths along the one side of the court, when I got a sweet tone from my metal detector, and sure enough, it turned out to be his charm. I sent Alan a picture, which he could not believe that I was able to locate it. He was not in the area anymore, so he requested that I leave the charm  with the homeowner. Alan requested to withhold his picture, and I fully understand , some people just don’t want to be on Facebook. Another recovery in the books .

Stone Harbor NJ Lost David Yurman Ring Found by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

  • from North Wildwood (New Jersey, United States)

LOST A RING?

DON’T WAIT TO CALL!

215-850-0188

The sun was shining bright in Stone Harbor, NJ, as Judy and her friends soaked up the fun on the beach. But their joy was short-lived – one of them realized her precious David Yurman ring was nowhere to be found!

The next morning, Judy gave me a call, and we met up just 30 minutes later. She pinpointed the spot near the high tide line where they’d been hanging out. I started a meticulous grid search of the sand.

Then, my metal detector let out a loud signal! I dug in, and there it was! The ring was safe and sound!

Judy and her friends erupted in cheers and hugs. What a way to start the day in Stone Harbor, NJ – with a lost treasure found!

Saint Michael Pendent, Manchester NJ (POW/MIA Field) recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

I received a text from Robyn in reference to a St Michaels pendant that was lost the prior day on a softball field. She had said it had extreme sentimental value, and it had been given to her nephew by his grandmother quite a while back. After getting all the details, we agreed on a time to meet at the ball field. If you know about softball, prior to the game, there is quite a bit of workouts that take place. That said, I started my search on first base, one of the locations it may have come off. Then searched the dugouts with no luck. Checked around home plate where batting practice took place, and still nothing. Then down the 3rd base line where lots of throwing and stretching take place prior to the game, yep you guessed it nothing. So, I walked back to the bleachers where Robyn was sitting, and talking with Michael, her nephew, who lost the pendent. After talking with him he mentioned that after playing first base, he went into the dugout, then out to coach 3rd base, the only spot left to search. Guess what, thats right, nothing again. Something is not right, he positively lost it on the field, but one KEY detail we missed. While heading out to coach 3rd base, he noticed the end of the chain hanging way down by his belt, with the cross stuck on the lobster claw clasp. But, everything was already searched. I stood back deep on the grass/clay line where he might have been playing, mumbling to myself, that I covered from the pitchers mound, all the way to the dugout, and even back on the grass a bit. It was then I realized I hadn’t covered right behind the mound where a first baseman would charge hard to make the cutoff on a line drive to second base. It was just a few moments later the pendant was recovered, right where I just mentioned. This is a perfect example of why we ask so many questions when doing a recovery, that one clue of the chain hanging low, could have eliminated all the extra searching. Regardless, another very happy ending.

Wedding Ring lost on the beach, Manasquan NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Find lost ring lbiWawa

David was enjoying the day on the beach, when he did what many others do. Remove their wedding ring and place it somewhere for safe keeping. Then he enjoyed the entire day on the beach, swimming, relaxing, having some food and drinks, etc. Now comes the dreaded part of the fantastic day, pack up time. That in itself is pretty depressing, so most are not thinking about the prior events and precautions they took, and grab up their belongings, and head to the car for the long drive home. Several hours later after David arrived home it hit him !!! Oh no, my wedding ring, and exactly as you thought, I was missing !!!! So David finally accepted the fact that it must have fallen out of his shorts pocket and into the sugar sand somewhere where he was sitting. David was able to locate my services and reach out wanting to know if I could assist. Luckily for David, he was able sitting very close to some fixed structures on the beach, and gave very detailed measurements to his location on the beach. Once I arrived I searched the entire location and had no luck, I remember him saying there were stairs directly across from his chair, which meant I needed to look a few feet closer to the ocean. Sure enough, one path further and David’s ring was in my sand scoop. I snapped some pics and sent them to him. He called immediately in total shock. We agreed the best way to return the rings was through certified mail, as he was just to far to make the return trip to the Jersey shore. David also requested to not post his picture on social media, which I truly respect his decision.

Lost cross found with metal detector , Seaside Heights NJ (Sunset Beach) recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

The night prior to Carries phone call, her son and some friends were over in Seaside Height NJ, on a small but well-known beach they call Sunset Beach. The were messing around like all teenage kids do, when his chain broke and his cherished cross went missing. It was pretty dark that night, but that did not deter their search efforts. Unfortunately they came up empty handed. They returned the following morning and again had no luck. The cross and location were posted on one of the local Facebook pages, where Carrie grabbed my number and called to set up the recovery. She gave me exact details of where the chain had broken, and within minutes, the cross was in my scoop. I immediately called Carrie, and we agreed to meet down the road in about 15 minutes.  Another fantastic recovery of a cherished keepsake in the books.

Gaithersburg, Maryland Lady Loses Yellow Diamond Engagement Ring at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm…Found by Ring Finder on Over Thirty Acres of Land

  • from Washington (District of Columbia, United States)

Rachel’s extraordinary platinum 1.5 carat yellow diamond engagement ring that was lovingly designed by her husband Jonathan.

Rachel, Jonathan and family express their excitement for ring finder Brian Rudolph’s fantastic finish in discovering his client’s ring after it had gone missing eight days earlier.

Brian Rudolph, Lost Item Recovery Specialist (Land, Water, Sand, Snow, Leaves, Cliffs, Houses & Vehicles) Will Find Your Lost Keepsake! Call ASAP (301) 466-8644!

Rachel reached out to me after losing her platinum 1.5 carat yellow diamond engagement ring at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm on July 13th, 2024. She and her husband Jonathan walked to the 30-plus acre land with their two children during an annual event called SportsFest. Youth entering grades K through 8 can participate in a variety of activities. Later that Saturday night, Rachel realized that she no longer had her priceless engagement ring on her finger. She was devastated.

The couple spent the next day searching the huge grassy park to see if they could recover Rachel’s irreplaceable diamond ring. It was nearly impossible to recount where they walked because there were activity stations for the children placed all over the sports fields and other locations throughout the endless acreage.

When they couldn’t find the ring out at the park, they tore their place apart to see if maybe Rachel lost her ring somewhere in their townhome. Sadly, all of their efforts led to no avail.

Later that Sunday evening, I received Rachel’s call for help. I spent a good amount of time on the phone getting all of the details from the couple in order for me to better process the story and come up with a game plan to help my desperate clients.

Two days later, on Tuesday morning, July 16th, I scheduled with Rachel and Jonathan for me to come to their Gaithersburg, Maryland home to start the search. The couple took me over to the park and we walked in the direction of where they remembered taking their children to the special event. It was a lot of territory that I would have to cover! I’m talking a lot! However, I was completely up for the challenge! We returned back to their house and I immediately checked the couch with special equipment, however, the ring was not in the furniture.

After applying much sunscreen and filling my red tool case with a cooler and other search accessories, I walked myself back over to the park to begin the hunt on grass for Rachel’s beautiful platinum yellow diamond jewel.

The day was so hot that temperatures reached over 100 degrees! I metal detected for a few hours but the only thing I came up with was a bunch of trash. Even Jonathan joined me over by one of the sports fields to lend a hand with grid positioning. A few hours later I had to go to another appointment, sadly leaving the property without recovering the ring at that time.

The next day, at noontime on Wednesday July 17th, I returned to the park and resumed my search for the engagement ring. I laid down my grid lines from one section of the grassy estate to the next section. Because it would take too long to grid all 30 acres of the property, I had to place a single grid line down and work on both sides of it every 100 feet. Then, I would move the grid line down another hundred feet and so on. I metal detected all over the sports field and along the sidelines. There was a fairly large hill that the family had walked down and back up again when they headed over to the community center. I searched a portion of that area and still nothing turned up.

The whole time that I was metal detecting, the concern came to my mind over and over again which had to do with the community center. The couple took the kids inside the center during the sportsfest and Rachel sat down on a bench in one of the hallways. There was a strong possibility that it was at that moment that the ring came out of her pocket and landed on the floor. So while I was doing all of the searching on the grass, there was always that question mark as to whether or not I was wasting all that time looking on the property when the ring potentially had already been found by somebody and pocketed.

I did another 3 hours that Wednesday and still I was not able to find Rachel’s beautiful diamond ring. I let the couple know that I would return again the following day to continue swinging my detector with the hope that if the ring had fallen out of Rachel’s short’s pocket out on the vast property, perhaps it still had not been found by anyone just quite yet.

The next day, Thursday July 18th, I made it back out to the search site around 3pm. I was determined to not give up even though my clients were starting to lose hope as time moved forward. Rachel brought one of her sons to the park and met me out on top of the grassy hill near the community center’s parking lot. She answered more questions regarding where the family had walked so that I could lay down some more grid lines. She and her son took one of my grid lines and placed the 100 foot tape in the direction of where Rachel believed they had all walked that past Saturday. As soon as they started heading back, I once again took out my metal detector and started gridding both sides the tape.

When nothing was discovered along the grid path that I had carefully scanned over, I metal detected a section of a smaller hill located above the main sports field. On our initial walk on the first search day, Rachel and Jonathan showed me a section of the hill between two trees where a trash can was located and they thought that that was a viable place to detect. I searched that area but did not find anything there. So, I told them that I would search to the left of that mid section and see if maybe they were actually farther to the left than what they remembered. Unfortunately, nothing panned out in that location either.

Afternoon turned into evening and I once again had to leave the search site for the third time. I still had approximately one hour left to search for the mystery jewel as part of what was agreed upon by both parties on my company contract. Therefore, I let Rachel and Jonathan know that I would plan to come out one more time to attempt to pull the missing ring from the huge grassy property.

Three days later, on Sunday July 21st, at approximately 3:45pm (8 days after Rachel had lost her treasured keepsake), I returned for the final time to search for Rachel’s beloved ring. I regretted not being able to come back any sooner to do more detecting and I knew that had to be hard for my clients to let a few more days to go by. They quickly were losing all hope of ever getting their special symbol of love back.

I focused on rechecking a couple of places that I had previously detected because I wanted to make sure that I didn’t miss anything. When the hour was up, even though I was done with all 6 hours that were contracted, I told the couple I would keep searching on my own time. I just had to know that I did everything I could before finally having to call it quits.

I continued to search for many more hours for the ring, explaining to my clients that they would not be obligated to cover the additional time that I expended out on the hot grass-filled property. I wanted them to know that I was volunteering the remainder of the time invested to hopefully discover Rachel’s ring that Jonathan had personally designed himself, completely custom made for his future bride at the time.

Once I completed scanning the ground over by a section of grass near the playground equipment, I decided I would return far over to one of the hills on the opposite end of the park where I had previously metal detected two sections of that space on two separate search days during the previous week.

I had searched the middle section between two trees where the trash can was located and I on another day I searched the left side of the left tree and did not find anything in that spot either. So, I decided to search the right side of the right tree just in case my clients did not remember that they were actually to the right of the trash can and not to the left end of it.

I started at the bottom of the hill where the sideline for the sports field was located. Rachel had remembered squatting down to help take off her son’s shoes so he could go play in one of the inflatable bounce houses. I had already metal detected that section at least a couple of times already but I decided to do it once more. Again, there was nothing discovered there, so I proceeded to metal detect the right portion of the hill, slowly swinging back and forth as I made my way up that area of the hill.

A few minutes later I reached midway up the hill and I received an excellent target signal. I did not find Rachel’s ring but I happen to discover a young lady’s gold ring that she must have received for her 15th birthday’s quinceañera celebration. The rose and yellow gold piece of jewelry was partially buried mostly in the dirt mixed with some random blades grass.

After placing my first treasure in one of my pockets, I continued scanning the hill, completely conscious of the fact that I was only a couple of “air” gridlines from finishing my long drawn out and very exhausting ring search. And then…I captured yet another curious signal. I knelt down to the ground and used my orange pinpointer to locate the exact spot of the target. I then moved some dirt out of the way and there it was! I couldn’t believe what I was staring at! It was a silver looking band with a large sized solitaire yellow stone on top! A beautiful yellow diamond to be precise! I found it! I recovered Rachel’s lost ring! I couldn’t believe it!

It was at that moment that I released so much emotion and physical relief! I truly couldn’t process within what I had just discovered! I was only feet away from ending the week’s long adventure out on all that grass and then it was over, literally at the final few seconds of possibilities! I recovered my client’s most sought after material possession and it would soon be returning to the finger that it rightfully belonged to! Amazing! I gave many thanks to the Lord for answering the prayer that I and my clients had initially lifted up towards Heaven just before starting the search.

I just sat on that hillside for a good while and let the reality of the moment fully sink in. I can’t fully express just how grateful I felt to have searched farther outside the box, deciding to metal detect the right side section of the hill! It turned out that Rachel and Jonathan misremembered the place where they stopped on that hillside. Rachel probably reached for her phone and the ring came out with her iPhone and there it fell to the ground at that very place where my machine eventually picked up its signal!

Within the next hour I surprised my clients with the most incredible reveal! Rachel cried and Jonathan was in complete disbelief with what they were being presented with. They had pretty much resolved within them that the ring was gone forever. Rachel had visited a local pawn shop in search of her missing jewel along with filing a police report with the county authorities. And yet, the true reality of the situation was that their 8-day nightmare was finally over!

Had I stopped searching after the contract’s agreed upon hours had been expended, the engagement ring would have never been held by Rachel’s hand ever again. Yes indeed, I am so very glad that God made me to be such a stubborn and passionate human being! With every ring search, it’s never over until it has to be over!
