Lindsey texted me saying she had dropped her engagement ring off of a dock and into 7 feet of water and weeds and asked if there was any way I could help her and her husband! They had been sitting on the dock and enjoying the cool evening breeze and Lindsey said she was kind of fiddling with her 2 rings and all of a sudden they both slipped off and she happened to actually catch her wedding band but her engagement ring fell to the deck and then she heard it hit the water. Her dear husband Cole, spent a total of 6 hours diving and trying desperately to find her ring but to no avail. A search on line led them to one of my stories on theringfinders.com web site and after talking with them I agreed to conduct a scuba dive search around the dock. Neither one of them had actually seen where the ring fell into the water so I figured to start right under where they were sitting. My wife and I arrived later that day with all my gear and as I suited up I said a short prayer to God Almighty and asked that He might help me find this special ring and be a blessing to this dear, young, newly wed couple! Normally there are lots of metal targets under docks but here it was super quiet as I swept my XP MI-6 pin pointer through the mud and slowly made my way across the back side of the dock. I had stuck a 10 foot PVC pole down into the water about where we were able to determine the most likely area where Lindsey’s ring could have rolled and landed…and we were right on target! Five minutes into the dive and the very first signal that sounded off was Lindsey’s lost engagement ring! I swam back to my starting point and stood up and took off my mask and said, “Anyone want to see what I just found?”

How I thank God for giving me the opportunity and the privilege to help Lindsey and Cole!

How can I help you? Call or text me anytime and let’s talk!

Lost wedding ring found under dock, Cocoa Beach, Florida…and returned to grateful owner!

Doug and his wife had just returned from a beautiful day out on the water fishing and as they unloaded some personal items onto the dock a very special ring dropped from the small table and bounced and managed to fall directly through one of the cracks and into the water below. This was a super sentimental ring and meant the world to Doug’s dear wife. Doug got right at trying to find someone who could retrieve the ring and looked up “Ring Finder” on his phone. Theringfinders.com service came up and he noticed a number of members of this service were in the area but none of them were equipped to do an underwater search of this kind. Doug eventually found my number and gave me a call.

It was the middle of December and I attempted a recovery dive but the water was just way too cold and we decided to try again later on the following summer. So in May when the weather and water temperatures were much more bearable I showed up to give it another try. The oyster shells were strewn across the bottom and this made digging difficult and the visibility was only a foot or two…until I would start digging and then visibility went to 10 inches. Other members of theringfinders.com have shared a wonderful idea that helps with grid searching in these types of conditions and that is a sinking pvc square that will sit on the bottom which allows me to methodically search an area even though I cannot actually see where I am going or where I have been but by following the grid with one hand and scanning the bottom with my small handheld metal detector with the other hand…I can cover an area very thoroughly and when finished I am able to move the pvc grid to another area and thoroughly search that area as well until I find what I am looking for. (Doug had also informed me that a few years back the dock was completely destroyed in a hurricane…so there was an awful lot of other signals to sift through before God allowed me to find Doug’s wife’s lost ring!)

What an honor it was to help find and return this precious lost ring to its rightful owner!!

Lost BMW Fob/ Business Key Remote in Lake Wippoorwill, Orlando, Florida…Found with Large Magnet!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)

Got a call from a young man who told me he lost his BMW fob/ remote to his car and business where he works. It wasn’t until I met him and listened to his story that I found out that he actually got upset about something and ended up throwing…not just one set of keys but two sets! And to add more fuel to the fire he admited that he threw them into a lake behind his house…and when I asked if he played baseball in high school he said sheepishly, “Yes”! So I asked him to throw two stones that were similar in size and weight to the key sets and that gave me some idea as to how far out into the water I needed to start looking with my large magnet!

I slid my kayak into the water and spent the next two hours slowly bobbing it off the bottom and every 30 seconds or so I would pull it up to see if I had found them. It was very tiring and I figured I did approximately 200 or more bicep curls…but in the end I was able to retrieve one set and the young man was very thankful for that much. (I chose not to do a scuba dive for the simple fact that the search area was just way to large and it was over 10 feet deep!).

All in all I was very thankful that God allowed me to find at least one set of his keys for him and hopefully he learned a valuable lesson! These situations happen allot and please do not feel that it is a hopeless cause.

If you have lost something and need help please feel free to call or text me anytime and lets talk! 321-363-6029

Nathanael texted me late one night to see if I could help him find his platinum wedding ring which he lost in the surf while videoing himself and a friend. (He actually had a video of the very moment that he lost his ring…which he did not even realize at the time!). I asked him a few questions and come to find out he had posted on Facebook that night about his loss and even had a few people respond…offering to help him. I normally ask people NOT to post online where and when they lost something as I want to be able to offer my service and actually attempt a search and recovery before a bunch of “people” show up and start randomly searching. Many times there are “good people” who offer to look for and try and help find a lost item with the good intention of returning the lost item if they happen to find it…which is GREAT and what we hope and pray happens…BUT there are those “other people” who will go out and if they find it they will NOT return it to the rightful owner! So in this case I told Nathanael that I would not be able to conduct a proper search with the high possibility of others showing up and searching as well and plus it would be an hour and a half drive one way. Nathanael understood and I wished him luck and said goodbye!

An hour later I received another call from a young lady who lost a diamond engagement ring in the grass and she was only 7 miles away from where Nathanael lost his ring in the surf…in the same town of Melbourne! Both individuals were leaving the very next day from Melbourne and I felt compelled to go real early and trust God to help me find the young lady’s lost engagement ring and then I could drive the 7 miles to the beach and get set up early and chase the tide out until I got over Nathanael’s ring. God gave me peace to attempt both searches in one day! I was able to find Jessica’s ring in about 20 minutes and actually got over to the Hilton by 9:30…which was 5 hours before low tide.

After talking to the Hotel Concierge and obtaining permission to park I gathered my equipment and walked out onto the beach expecting to see some people out there with metal detectors…but there were none! Nathanael had given me great photos and very accurate information as to where he was and that fact that he lost it close to high tide would allow me to search the wet sand as the tide receded! Three hours later I started digging some deeper targets close to some hard coral patches and my last target was Nathanael’s lost platinum wedding ring! In two days it had gone down at least 6 inches in the sand and I was so so thankful to God for allowing me to find this ring. Two in one day…what a thrill!!

Lost Engagement Ring in the grass, Melbourne, Florida…Found with a metal detector!

Jessica called me to ask if there was any way to find a lost ring in a small grassy field! Come to find out her husband had put her ring in the pocket of his shorts as they headed out to walk their dog. Jessica went on to explain that two weeks ago they were married in the Florida Keys and afterwards had rented an apartment in Melbourne and would be heading back to Georgia the very next day at 11:00 am. So early the next morning, after I dropped my grandson off at school, I made the 90 minute drive to hopefully find her ring and get it back to them before they had to leave for the airport!

After meeting Jessica and setting out some markers I got to swinging my Garrett AT Max metal detector hoping and praying that her ring was somewhere within the marked of area. Jessica and her husband had spent hours looking the area over and even spent a good part of the night with flashlights trying desperately to catch a glimpse of her lost ring in the sparkling grass. Jessica was not exactly sure what her ring was made of…silver or white gold…but the two different metals sound similar but the numbers are very different. And since she was not able to confirm the type of metal I had to check every shallow target and thank goodness the area had very little trash.

Twenty minutes later I heard a beautiful shallow signal and as I parted the grass with my pinpointer…there was Jessica’s lost engagement ring! I said a silent prayer of thanksgiving as I took in the moment and then sent Jessica a text that said…”Come see what God has just helped me find!”. And what a thrill it was to watch Jessica’s face light up with JOY!

Elaine called me to ask for help finding her husbands wedding ring that was lost “somewhere” either in their home or outside of their house! (That sort of information usually indicates that a thorough search could take hours!) So we met Elaine and her husband Bill and asked lots of questions about the day his ring went missing. Bill had done a bunch of work in one of their rooms…like tearing up old carpeting and hauling it outside along with a big mattress and other items. One thing he did remember was when he was showering he recalled scrubbing his hands with a small scrub brush and while drying off he noticed that his ring was not on his finger. This is his wedding ring that he has worn for 46 years and he rarely takes it off. So we took up the drain cover in the shower thinking that just maybe it fell down the drain while scrubbing his hands and showering. But after running my endoscope down as far as possible and not seeing it we determined it must be somewhere else. We looked outside everywhere that Bill remembered going on that day and then we searched inside as much as possible. It is a large home…10,000 square feet to be exact so there was allot of area and after a few hours we called it quits.

I tried to encourage Bill and Elaine that there is always hope of finding it and not to give up hope. Reminding them to be sure to call me if and when they do find it! And….8 days later I get a call from Elaine saying they found it under a pile of old sheets and curtains that came out of the room that they are remodeling! It is always a pleasure to help folks find and locate their lost item whether I am able to find it myself or help them find it on their own.

On Thanksgiving Day Tessa and her family were enjoying some fun and games in the backyard when her ring went flying! Here is the account in Tessa’s own words. “On Thanksgiving Day I lost my engagement ring in my aunt’s backyard while playing corn hole with my fiancee. Before I knew it my engagement ring flew off my finger. I originally thought it would be a matter of me looking around where we were playing and I would find it, but hours passed and even with the help of my family and neighbors we couldn’t find my ring. The sun was going down and we even borrowed a metal detector from a friend and scoured the backyard. After hours of searching, nothing but bottle caps had turned up. We decided to start again when the sun came up the next day. We were hopeless and devastated. A family member said to me that there are professionals who can help you find a lost ring. I wasn’t sure where to start but I knew it was worth a shot. First thing the next morning I did a Google search to try to find a solution. I searched “Metal detector service Orlando”. With it being the day after Thanksgiving I wasn’t sure if I would have much luck. I came across Mike McInroe of Theringfinders. Reading testimonials of other searches Mike completed made it seem to me that I had found the person who could help.

I called Mike’s cell and he made it to my aunts house within an hour and a half! He asked me to tell him exactly what I was doing and where I was when it happened. He scanned the area and found my ring IN FIVE MINUTES! My family looked on in disbelief! My lost ring had been found! I felt myself get emotional and asked Mike if I could hug him. Before I knew it my aunt and mom were both hugging him as well! Even my uncle started tearing up–we were just overwhelmed with so many emotions at once. But most of all, pure happiness! Mike was nothing short of heaven sent. Our family cannot thank him enough for his services. If you have lost something that means something to you don’t despair, give Mike a call”. Tessa.

What an honor and privilege it has been to help Tessa and her family. I thank God for allowing my the opportunity to help them and to give us all one more thing to be thankful for during this Thanksgiving season!

Lost ring in the water, Daytona Beach, Florida…found by Florida ring finder!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)

Rachel, from Alabama, was vacationing in Daytona Beach and one afternoon her and her family were in waist deep Atlantic ocean water hitting a volleyball back and forth and she felt her ring come off of her finger and watched as it disappeared in the waves. She was devastated and tried frantically to find it and after awhile someone spotted a man metal detecting along the beach. They approached the man, Wayne was his name, and asked if he could help them find Rachel’s lost silver and turquoise ring. Wayne tried his best but for some reason he could not locate it. Thoughtfully he asked Rachel for her contact number just in case he happened to find it at a later date and that gave Rachel some hope…but not much for she thought surely she would never see her ring again.

Ten days later I decided to hit the beach and do some metal detecting in the water and I often go to Daytona Beach and randomly pick a beach to hunt and on this day I chose the waters in front of the Hilton and the Club Wyndam Ocean Walk area. I usually like to detect in the water and on that particular day I found a couple of rings, coins and a few junk ear rings. During the day I spotted two other guys metal detecting and struck up a conversation with them and as is the custom we always ask one another…”Have you found anything good today?” So I pulled out my finds and when Wayne saw the silver and turquoise ring he said, “Hey, I think I know the lady who lost that ring!” And sure enough later that evening Wayne sent me the young lady’s phone number and she confirmed it was indeed her lost ring! How cool is that! So a few days later I boxed up Rachel’s ring and put it in the mail! She was thrilled to have her ring back and her beautiful smile says it all!

Emily and her fiance Will, were just coming home from an evening out and Will was exhausted and he opted to call it a night. Where as Emily felt the need to take a bit of a stroll and check out the night sky. They had originally taken Will’s car so upon arriving home Emily went to her car and before taking her walk she removed her engagement ring and put it into her purse for safe keeping. She proceeded to walk through the yard sort of meandering here and there with the end result of ending up on the boat dock where she could get a clear view of the night sky.

The next morning Emily looked in her purse for her ring and it was no where to be found. They looked all over the yard, on the boat dock, in the car and even bought a metal detector which all it did was wound up making allot of noise! After exhausting all their efforts they went online and found one of my stories on theringfinders.com website and gave me a call. Later that day I met Will and he walked me around the large yard and down to the boat dock. I set out my orange flags and started grid searching from where Emily got out of her car and I figured this may take ma a long time—as they did not indicate at any time that Emily had dropped her purse or had set it down anywhere, except on the dock over the water where she sat down for a while to enjoy the stars. There was allot of the usual yard trash like gum wrapper foil, pull tabs and the odd coin. After 35 minutes I got a strong quarter signal and sure enough a shiny new quarter was just in the grass…I retrieved it and got another signal about 14 inches away…this time it read as a pull tab but it was not a pull tab! It was Emily’s lost diamond engagement ring just setting there in the grass. (Come to find out later that Will had actually used a quarter to see if the metal detecting would work and little did he know that Emily’s ring would be so close to where he was looking!). Again I thank God for allowing me to find Emily and Will’s lost engagement ring and for the opportunity to help someone in need of theringfinders.com services!

Lost ring in car in Orlando, Florida….Found and returned to happy owner!

Got a call from Christine who asked if I could possible help her find her diamond engagement ring which fell in her car by the drivers seat and somehow just disappeared! Her husband tried looking for it with a flashlight and literally bruised and scraped up both hands while sticking his fingers into the small cracks and crevices trying his best to locate his dear wife’s lost ring. They even took it to the Mazda dealer and they removed the seat and searched for the ring as well but were unable to find her lost engagement ring. Christine was very distraught over the whole ordeal and went online to look for some help and stumbled onto theringfinders.com. She was fascinated that there actually existed a unique service of ring finding specialists who recover lost ring on land, in the water, in cars and most anyplace imaginable. She called me and I came the next day with my equipment and began my search. My main tool of choice for these types of searches is an endoscope that is ideal for looking in tiny, restricted areas. Under Christine’s car seat there was only one slit in the carpet where electrical wires go to control the seat adjustments. It took about 20 minutes and at one point I saw a penny that was in a small grooved area and further back behind the penny I saw a sparkling reflection that could only be Christine’s diamond ring. I then rigged up a thin cooper wire with a small hook on the end and carefully worked it along the cable of my endoscope and gently and very slowly pulled her ring out to where I could grab it with my fingers. I handed the ring to Christine’s husband and said, “How should we surprise Christine?”. Just then Christine came out of the house and asked how it was going. So I casually said, “Well I did find a penny…..and then I found this hiding behind the penny!”. Christine could not hold back the tears…only these were tears of JOY!!

Thanks Christine for calling me and allowing me to help you find your precious engagement ring!
