Lost Necklace Pensacola Beach – FOUND!!!

Saturday night was day two of what turned out to be an epic weekend. I had been looking forward to this day for a long time because we got to take my 16yr old daughter Haley car shopping for the first time. I knew how important the day would be to us all so I planned on no recoveries at all. I still had to give Blair a call though when I saw her message to me bright and early. I talked to her for awhile and told her how I could help and she explained about how she had lost her necklace on the beach the night before. She explained that it had a lot of sentimental value to her and I gave her two options. I told her that I would be glad to put her in touch with a friend of mine who could be there that morning or I could come out myself the next day. She said that she was sure my friend was great but there was just something about me that made her trust me. Well that made me feel like a million bucks and I told my wife about the awesome compliment. Once again Jeannie came to the rescue and reminded me that we were supposed to take back the kids after dinner and if I was up for an evening hunt, she would go with me. I called Blair back and she was thrilled and we made arrangements to meet on the beach right before sunset. When we got there, we all said hello from a Covid safe distance ? and they pointed out the area they had marked where they thought the necklace had fallen. I went over and was setting up my machine. I have learned over the years to open up the metals I can hear when the person doesn’t sound completely sure what it is made out of. I’m glad I did because less than two minutes later I had a tone that was almost like gold but it sounded clean in my ears. I reached down after moving a little sand and pulled out the necklace. Two recoveries in two days in less than five minutes of searching. Awesome!  As you can see, Blair was also thrilled. Thank you for putting your trust in me. I’m glad I was able to help. ?

Lost Ring Dauphin Island – FOUND!!!

Friday was the start to an awesome weekend. I had taken the day off from work so I had already spent the first part of the day metal Detecting on my own. I was cleaning all of my gear and I came inside to relax for a minute when I got a phone call from an Alabama number. Taylor explained to me that he and his wife Sawyer were vacationing with their whole family in Dauphin Island when Sawyer accidentally lost her ring. They were pretty sure that it was out in the Gulf but they weren’t positive. I was explaining that I probably wouldn’t be able to come until Sunday because it was already after 5:30 pm when my wife walked by and heard “engagement ring”. Luckily for them, my wife is a sucker for any wedding ring recovery so she immediately said, “let’s go, I’ll come with you.”  I said ok and began moving fast and realized that Jeannie didn’t hear the first part that it was an hour and a half away and we were racing sunset. It was a great trip and Dauphin Island is really pretty but when we parked I only had about 30 mins till Sunset and the Gulf was upside down. We spoke for a few minutes and I ran out in the Gulf towards the Oilrig in the distance that was the only marker Taylor had. He said it was chest deep on him so I started walking and it was way out there. Meanwhile my wife, Jeannie had to go move our car because we were in the wrong spot so when I started the hunt she wasn’t back yet. I turned around and Taylor gave me the thumbs up that it looked like the right area so I made the first pass in my grid search. The waves were lifting me up and moving me so I knew it was going to be a tough search. I thought about it and I said to myself that I should probably move a step in because of the tide and the fact that Sawyer is really petite and would probably need shallower water to throw the ball they were playing with. Sure enough, I took 2 steps and I got that beautiful Gold sound and I had her diamond engagement ring in my scoop in a record 3 minutes. ?. They were so excited and their whole family had been watching from the beach and the condo. One family member told Jeannie as she was running back from the car that I must have been showing off because I was already done. Haha. So glad I could help y’all out. ?

Engagement ring found at Sand Banks Provincial Park

Received an email yesterday from Marlon about how his fiancé had lost her engagement ring at Sand Banks Provincial Park on Saturday. They were down for the day at the beach from Markham with a bunch of friends. At noon, Camille realized that her ring was gone. With over a dozen friends, looking through the fine sand for a few hours, the ring was still missing but had to drive back home that day.

On Sunday morning, After looking at a couple pictures from google earth from Marlon and description of where about the were located at the beach, I headed to Sand banks in hope of finding it for them. Amidst the high winds, couple downpours and four hours of searching/gridding the beach, I was able to find it. I don’t think I’ve ever pulled so many beer caps and pull tabs from pop cans which when using a metal detector sounds just like a gold ring. Met with them in port hope this morning to return the ring. The look on Camille’s face, when she saw her ring again, was priceless. Another happy couple. ?

Lost Gold Pendant in Surrey, BC…Found

I received a call from a young man who told me that his sister lost a gold emerald and ruby pendant, possibly in their backyard. I set up a time to go meet and look for it when I received a call from a young lady who lost a ring in a public area, which is a high priority search. I recontacted with the young man and asked if he was OK that I come later on in the evening, he was fine with that.

When I arrived at his home he went on to tell me that the pendant was actually his wife’s pendant that she lent it to her sister-in-law to wear on her wedding day. While they were celebrating in the backyard the pendant broke loose of the chain but with all the confetti on the ground, it made it almost impossible for them to find it. They went out at night with flashlights hoping they could see the glitter of the emeralds & rubies.

The young man show me where his sister spent most of the time in the backyard and I knew it would just be a matter of minutes before I would find this beautiful pendant if it indeed was lost there. Ten minutes later I found it, because he did not want to be on my video I had to take a picture of me holding it with my smile. This is just to prove that I found what I was looking for so we can record it for a Book of Smiles.

Lost Gold Ring, White Rock Beach…Found!

I got a call about a lost ring at Cresent Beach, it turns out it was close to the area that I searched for a lost silver moonstone ring, 3 weeks earlier. It’s not my favorite area to search due to huge rocks and a long hike into the area.  After discussing the search and looking at the tide chart we set a date for 4 days later to do the search. The story about the ring was the young man had lost it in waist-deep water, they were smart to make reference markers, one was a huge rock he was by, and the other was the trail they walked down. This makes a huge difference in looking for something as small as a ring. The young lady told me the story about the ring and how important it was to find it, it was a gift from her late grandfather who was 94 years old when he passed. It was his wedding band and now handed down to continue a new love story!

We decided to walk the railroad tracks because of the trails were closed, I definitely didn’t bring the right shoes, I wore my water boots soft soul and the walk was approximately 45 minutes to the location. Because of all the rocks around the tracks, my feet were extremely sore! We arrive at the location and just as we got off the tracks a train came whipping by, I couldn’t believe how fast it came around the corner, good thing we were off the tracks.

The young lady showed me the big rock where her husband lost the ring and within minutes I found the ring! I get as happy as the person who lost it when I find what I’m looking for! I love the smiles I find and the stories that are attached to the rings…I called this recovery…The Circle of Love.

Lost White Gold Mens Diamond Ring Danielson Provincial Park, Lake Diefenbaker

Tyler Called me about locating his Lost Wedding Ring in the Sand just off the Beach. Him and his family  was enjoying the day at the beach swimming he headed to the truck and was wiping the sand off his legs when his ring slipped off his hand. They spent the next couple hours searching for the Lost Ring. They head back to camper and was searching for a Metal Detector to Rent in Outlook, when they found my Name on the  internet. He called and we made plans to meet at the parking at 10AM the next day.

The next morning I made the 2 hour drive and at 10 we meet, he said I would need follow in truck to the secluded beach area down the road. He had place a stick at the location that the ring fell off. I  set up and started a grid of the area after a 20 minutes on the second good signal the ring was in the sand 2 inches. I pick the ring up and he was up the beach about 50 yards, as I walked toward the family he looked over and said you found the ring? I said I found a ring with 3 diamonds he said really mine has 3 diamonds  He  and his family was overjoyed at the discovery.

Old Silver Beach, Falmouth, Massachusetts Diamond Wedding Band Lost, Found and Returned

Arriving at the resort earlier than check in time Sylvia and her party went to the sandy beach to wait for their room to be readied. The sun was warm and breeze delightful. A bit of sun tan lotion was in order. As with most beautiful rings with mounted stones one would take the ring off so to keep the cream from lodging itself under the stones. The the ring should be put back on. OOPS here is were Sylvia stood up before putting the ring back on. That was all it took for the ring to disappear into the fluffy sand.

No matter how hard the ring was looked for it had not been found. An attentive lifeguard stepped in to help save the ring by giving Sylvia information about TheRingFinders. A quick call to me and I was on my way. Parking and meeting up with Sylvia took a couple of phone calls before we met up. We were then on the way to the soft sandy area.

I began the search finding several Nip bottle caps, who said no alcohol on the beach? A couple of beer bottle caps and the growing crowd were beginning to wonder if I would ever find the ring. It all happened very fast as it took only about 5 minutes to capture the elusive wedding band in my scoop.
I walked over to Sylvia so she could take her ring from my scoop. This was my third successful wedding band return in one day.

How cheerful the crowd turned. Congratulations were offered and a jeweler chimed in with some useful information on sizing a ring and a reason not to have “bumps” put inside the ring. In one word: Comfort.

Dennis, Massachusetts Chapin Beach Platinum Ring Lost, Found and Returned

Talk about coincidence:

Leighton and myself had been successful in an early morning ring return, some leisurely detecting, a cup of coffee and departed each other’s company for the day. OOPS Leighton left his wallet in my car. I called and he did a U-turn and returned to retrieve the wallet. While I was waiting a call came in for help in finding a lost wedding band. Yes, Leighton would join in on the search immediately.

Jack lost his platinum wedding band when he did a back flop into the thigh deep water too cool off. He did succeed in the cooling off and also offed his ring as well. This was happening at the same time that Tim took his wedding band off to apply sunscreen lotion not but a few hundred yards down the beach. All the searching that was done did not located the ring.

That evening Jill, Jack’s wife was talking to Nicole, Tim’s wife. They were astound that their husband both had a Platinum wedding band, each of which were lost within minutes, within yards of each other and each would be found and returned by the same person.

Is it not strange how incidents just seem to harmonize and bring people together and make a sad situation into one to celebrate. After Smiles, Hugs, and many Thanks, Leighton and I were on our way home. Total time was less than an hour to the conclusion of this happily ending adventure.

Today was a busy day! I started out with an early morning beach hunt in Vancouver, for a lost gold wedding band. (Found it after 45 minutes) Then I received a call to look for a lost gold pendant in a back yard in Surrey, I was just about to head out to look for the pendent when a young lady called for help to find her lost diamond engagement ring at Crescent Beach in South Surrey. I told her I had a search I was on my way to do, but I would call and ask if I could come later as searches that are in public areas are high priority.

I arrive at Crescent Beach and met the young lady, she showed me what she was doing and where she believed the ring was lost. She was sitting on a park bench, brushing the hair off of her dog, when she felt her ring go flying into the bushes. She searched but had no luck as her ring was rose gold and blended very nicely with the golden leaves. The young lady told me that she had lost her ring 4 times, the ring always found its way back to her…The pressure is on!!

After looking at the search area I could tell I would be crawling into and among the prickle bushes with my handheld pinpointer as there was no way to swing a metal detector in the bushes…After an hour and a bit, I thought that I could use the young lady’s help. I asked if she could find a big stick so to hold the bushes back as I used my pinpointer, this was a good idea as I was able to get into a spot that hid her beautiful diamond ring, way in the back of the bushes! I love the smiles and reactions & relief when I find what I’m looking for!

A woman posted to Craigs List that she lost her diamond wedding ring while hiking the Haybrook trail head. I reached out to her with an offer of assistance. We had extensive conversations and many tips were provided to her on the most common places to search in her home and vehicle. Due to COVID concerns it has reduce some of my in home and vehicle searching efforts however I am always willing to share quite a bit of details and encouragement to anyone willing to take the time to work with me over the phone and in the field. She was quite hesitant not wanting anyone to have to go out of their way to go look over the trail again as she had made a second hike and found nothing. I assured her I was willing to go on my own ambition besides a great bit of exercise in some beautiful country! Hard to pass up an opportunity like this.
