This ring find began when I got a text from Audrey who lives in Makakilo on Oahu. Her text said she found me on Facebook and that she lost her Gold & Diamonds Wedding and Engagement rings at White Plains Beach the day before. It was getting late, but I didn’t want the beach to experience a metal detectorist or another high tide so I called her and we agreed to meet as soon as I could get there. When I arrived Audrey was waiting and she took me to the spot on the beach. Most of the area was dry but it did extend down into the wet sand. This beach has a tremndous slope and it will pull a ring down into never never sand. First target was a piece of pull tab. Then on the second leg I got a double target with a 27 on the Manticore. The high tide did bury the rings as it took four scoops to get the first one which was the engagement. Then a mere 8 inches over I had popped out the wedding band. Mission accomplished and a very happy local girl with tears of joy on her face. Aloha to Audrey and a Happy New Year.

Received another urgent phone call on September 8th,2023 to help find a very sentimental diamond ring. Ashleigh asked me about my charges or fees?? So I explained that I work on a reward basis meaning it’s entirely up to you. She sounded relieved about that especially that I could help her immediately. So I stopped what I had planned that second and burned gas to get the beach located in Carlsbad less than 20min to help her. Everything was wonderful,,I was able to recover the precious ring buried in the sand quickly. We celebrated,Took some photos,,They asked for my Venmo info for compensation which I sent just after to Mrs.s Yob but Never got a response back or at least a penny fuel for expenses. The END!

Just before Christmas, I received a call to find an expensive gold bracelet with diamonds lost during an evening event at The Well. The loss wasn’t noticed until the next day’s inventory, and the search was complicated by the boutique’s loose gravel grounds, raked daily before opening. To make matters worse, three days of heavy rain had flooded the greater Santa Barbara area, turning the gravel into a muddy mess.
With hundreds of items for sale at this busy Summerland shop, I knew my metal detector’s discrimination wouldn’t be enough. Instead, I relied on my trusty pinpointer, painstakingly searching the muddy gravel on hands and knees. Despite picking up every piece of metal in the ground, my persistence paid off. A strong signal led me to dig into the muck, and up came the stunning gold bracelet, diamonds intact!

Christmas Eve was a sunny day. The temperature has been mild for this time of year, so being outside is what us Washingtonians do on days like that. With the eight-acre park right behind Tyler’s house beckoning Tyler and his family to come outside and play, the family made their way outside to enjoy the weather. Both Tyler and his wife had the mind set to not lose their wedding rings. So, the couple took off their rings and placed them in their jacket pockets. Then the unthinkable happened. When the fun was over the pair reached inside their pockets only to find them empty. The worst present ever was given to them, the feeling of a lost ring. With a glimmer of hope Tyler knew their rings had to be sitting in the grass somewhere. After recalling his knowledge for using metal detectors in the 90’s, he made his way to Harbor Freight to buy a metal detector. After swinging the detector around for two days. Tyler had enough and turned to Google to find a professional. After we spoke on the phone, I quickly got myself together and made my way to Tyler’s house. Tyler took me to his back deck to show me the search areas. The picture below shows what I saw, an eight-acre grass field. The half to the right of the house is where Tyler’s ring was lost. His wife’s ring was lost in the backyard which was a little triangle shape. After making our way downstairs, I set up my detector and started to look for Tyler’s wife’s ring. I don’t think Tyler had made it up the stairs yet when I opened the sliding glass door and called his name. “I have your wife’s ring,” I said as he came back downstairs with a stunned look on his face. We took pictures and I told Tyler where the ring was hiding in the grass. Then the real work was about to begin. As I set off into the park, I reassured Tyler that I would come back and search again tomorrow if I didn’t recover his ring that day. With the knowledge of where Tyler lost his ring in the grass, I lined up with the first marker he gave me, which was a blue covered seating area. My eyes quickly scanned the field of grass, and I could see the grass was flattened down from the previously melted snow. I knew the ring would be sitting in plain sight. I had the thought to just quickly walk the area to speed up the process of detecting the four-acre plot. However, I kept my head down and kept my arm swinging. Within a matter of ten feet, I saw the ring sitting on top of the flat grass. I wasted no time picking up the ring. Then looking back up towards the deck where Tyler and I stood just 20 minutes ago, I could see Tyler looking down at me from inside his house. I pumped my hand holding the ring in the air a few times to get his attention. Tyler came out to the porch, and I told him the great news. The landmark Tyler had told me about was the reason his ring was quickly recovered. That and I am blessed with the gift for finding lost items. A Merry Christmas to you Tyler and your family. This ring find began when I got a call from Anchorage, Alaska. The gentlemen told me his girlfriend Hannah was at Honu Lagoon and lost an heirloom ring her grandmother had given to her. He said the resort Security Team had given him my number. Knowing the surf was going to be pounding tomorrow and Lagoon 2 takes the brunt of the swell I asked him if Hannah could call and meet me on the beach ASAP. He said she was very distraught about losing the ring but he would have her call. She did a moment later and I could tell by her voice she had been crying about the loss. I told her I’d grab my gear and be right down after I got a few details from her. Thankfully traffic was minimal and I got there in about 45 minutes. I called from the parking lot when I arrived and Hannah and her parents were on the beach already. Hannah wasn’t exactly sure when the ring came off but she figured it was when she was throwing a football. She gridded that area for me and I started the hunt. The area was rather large so it took about 45 minutes. No luck there so Hannah showed me where they were throwing the ball in shallow water. That took another 45 minutes and still no ring. Hannah assured me I hunted in all the places and it was getting dark. I started talking about scuba another day and Hannah showed me a side angle shot of the ring. She said it was a chunky gold ring! She did mention snorkeling so I asked her to show me where she entered and exited the water. I might as well try there since the surf was negligble. On the second leg of what would of been a five leg search right on the shoreline I got a solid screaming target on the Manticore. The numbers were good too. It took at least three scoops and when the sand rinsed out of the scoop a chunky gold ring was shining in what was left of the daylight. I called over to Hannah “I think I got your ring…please tell me it is.” I handed her the ring and a rush of joy came over her. She was so thankful and extremely relieved. I can only imagine how she felt getting her grandma’s ring back. Hannah’s parents joined us on the shoreline and we had a few hugs and laughs. That was a two hour hunt with the sun going down quickly. The lord blessed us on this recovery the day after Christmas. Much Aloha to Hannah, her boyfriend and parents.

Mike called asking for assistance in recovering his lost 1969 Mercury 9.8 HP outboard engine. He was on his maiden voyage when it came loose from the transom and fell to the bottom of the Lake Washington. His recreational dive buddies attempted to locate the engine a day after the incident but were unable to locate it due to the overwhelming milfoil plant growth. Even after trying several of my suggestions it became a scheduled recovery many days later. We had an early start and showed up with everything but the kitchen sink. After trying several plans I eventually recovered the lost outboard with good old-fashioned determination using an expanding circle search fighting a massive amount of milfoil slowing the process down to a snails pace. However in the end we were successful and got Mike’s engine recovered from the lake.
Come along for an exciting underwater classic water recovery as we get Mikes outboard recovered back top side. Fortunately he had another friend that was on the ready to rehab the engine directly after the recovery for a full save! All in all a win for the environment and a win for Mike.

Ashley lost her college class ring while boating on the lake. She was having a good time and waving when all of a sudden her ring flew off.
