IPhone 16 Lost in the Ocean, Recovered and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

This recovery started on Saturday night about 9 pm when I received the following text. “Hi! My girlfriend lost her phone during a walk on the sand bar during low tide about an hour ago between 16th and 13th street in North Myrtle. The tide started coming in, so we had to limit our search to 10 minutes. We’re wondering if you’d be able to help us look for it during low tide in the morning. We know approximately where it was dropped. I know tomorrow is Easter, but please let us know if you are available.” I called the number attached to the text and talked with Maria, who lost the phone. First, I wanted to confirm the location, as to whether it was a North or South Ave in North Myrtle Beach. I also wanted to get some more details. Maria told me that her and her boyfriend, Joe, were walking on the sand bars and at some point, the phone came out of her pocket. When she confirmed she lost the phone on the side south, I decided to take a ride and look at the parking situation. I ended up stopping by the condo they were at and got to meet them. I learned the last location she was able to get from the phone was between 14th and 15th Ave South. She also told me again about walking on the sand bars and at one point she was on her hands and knees trying to feel for the phone in the water.

Today, Easter Sunday, I was on the beach at 6 am working the water between the sand bar and the beach. I ran into Maria and Joe around 6:30 as I was searching. I had misunderstood Maria and thought she lost the phone between the sand bars and the beach. She had actually lost it going through inlets between sand bars. I also thought and told her, that I suspected the phone would be lying on the bottom. The sand was hard packed, and I didn’t think the phone would settle in the sand, was proved wrong on that assumption. So, Maria got me squared away on where she thought the phone might be. I started checking the inlets between the sand bars and on the 3rd inlet I hit a strong target. I dug 3 full scoops of sand before I got the target out of the hole.  I had to be careful that if this was the phone, I didn’t want to break it with the scoop. As I pulled out the 3rd scoop of sand, I saw the red and white checkered case hanging out about an inch from between the sand. Maria saw it about the same time and reached down and pulled it out from the sand scoop. She was so excited. I’ve heard the newer I Phones are waterproof, and I guess they are. This one had been in the ocean, buried in sand for almost 12 hours and it turned right on, and she was able to call Joe’s phone. Vacation, her pictures and Easter Sunday all saved!!

Ring lost at a San Diego park found.

Yanni was at a local park enjoying the day and the various amenities, including playground, grass, and pushing her child on the swings. Somehow, afterward, she discovered her wedding ring was missing from her finger. Since her husband also had once lost his ring and had it found by us, she knew who to call. I arrived a bit early and decided to hit the swings first since nobody was on them. I got about half way done when it seemed EVERYONE wanted to swing. I abandoned the search there and went over to the tot lot to check the playground area. Mostly rubber, but, there was some sand areas I was able to quickly eliminate. I then walked over some grass areas on the way back to the now vacant swings. I got just about done with the swings when I got THE signal. Sure enough, just a few inches down in the wood chips, I found a gold ring. You can see in the one photo how easy a gold ring can hide in wood chips. Yes, it’s there in the center on top! Not knowing what her ring looked like, since she hadn’t arrived yet to describe it or even show me the exact search area, I stored it and continued to detect until she arrived. A few minutes later, Yanni arrived. I asked her to describe the ring, but, instead, she showed me a photo. Bingo! I pulled out the ring and said “yup, that sure looks like the one” as I held it up to the picture. A relieved Yanni can now go about her day with a complete finger. A pleasure meeting you and thank you for the reward.

Lost Gold Ring Found in Troy Michigan

Hoppy Endings….

While Jim was setting up the Easter egg hunt for the grandchildren yesterday his gold ring came off. Although often told he is too old to participate, I told him he was never too old to search for gold. The plan was hatched to meet this morning before the festivities began. Waiting a few to let a brief rainfall pass we wondered where the ring egg-scaped to, I mentioned that the ring had way more karats than the easter bunny but then what would a rabbit do with a gold ring? Laughing, I hopped into a grid search in the suspected area. Near some longer grass a good signal came thru my headphones from the metal detector. Reaching down with my Garrett carrot pin pointer it signaled, revealing Jim’s gold ring! Handing it to him I said… Well, this Easter turned out to be all it’s cracked up to be….. and somebunny needs some chocolate!

Lost Wedding Ring on the Beach, Brant Beach NJ, LBI, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

Jessica’s husband, Mike, lost his cherished wedding ring on the beach during a beautiful summer afternoon. Unsure of what to do, Jessica posted on social media, sharing the location and town where the ring was lost. Many commenters recommended she contact NJ Ring Finder for help and advised her to take down the post to keep the location private.

A few minutes later, my phone rang—it was Jessica. She explained the situation and provided all the necessary details. I assured her I could head over immediately and asked her to keep the area clear of swimmers to avoid disturbing the spot where the ring might be buried.

Jessica told me I could park in front of their house, and from there, we could take a short walk to the beach. Upon arriving, Mike met me, and as we walked to the sand, he described where he thought the ring had been lost.

Once on the beach, Mike pointed out the general area, and fortunately, his memory was accurate. In about 10 minutes, I located the ring buried approximately eight inches deep in the sand, where the tide had been washing over it.

Had I not arrived so quickly, the ring likely would have been swept out to sea. Thanks to prompt action and a bit of luck, Mike and Jessica were reunited with their treasured wedding ring. This recovery highlights the importance of acting fast in situations like these!

Lost Diamond Ring in Dallas,TX

Got a call from from a lady who had been repotting ferns in her backyard and when she came inside she noticed her ring was gone.  After frantically searching for her ring with no luck, she called The Ring Finders.  Upon arrival we were able to recheck all her potted ferns(many) and were able to find her beautiful diamond ring…..  Client was in tears and insisted on hugging us both.  We do so love our hobby/business…

Mens Wedding Band lost in Joe Pool Lake

After a great day on the water at Joe Pool Lake,  the client placed his wedding on a Yellow and Black Container and set it up on the dock.  He then set his Wedding Band on the Container and continued clearing out his boat.  Finding one more item he reached over the edge and opened the Container and saw his Wedding Ring slip off into the lake.   After finding us on the Ring Finders Website we had him measure the depth of the water.  But amazing it s 26ft deep.  A very deep Dive for our area in total darkness.  Upon arrival we set a drop line with a weight attached in what we hoped would be the exact location of the ring, both the husband and his wife were extremely nervous.  After about f26 minutes I was able to locate the ring 26ft down in the dark.  So fun to see a happy customer.

Lost Aggie Ring in Ft. Worth, Texas

Wedding with a all Aggie Groomsman was a receipe for disaster from the get go.  Photography says lets go take pictures on the dock down by the pond.  A couple of photo clicks later friendly pushing got out of had and everyone hit the water.  We got a call from one of the Groomsmen who found us on the website.  Ellen and I arrived and thought will be easy, but 18 inches of muck and customer not exactly sure where he fell in, it took a lot longer to find,  but we persevered.  The Aggie Ring show up in about my 20th scoop of MUCK…. another happy Aggie now roams the streets.  Found 04/2025

2 Rings Lost in the Wet Sand – FOUND!!!

I love starting the day out right!  Jenny has been in town from Minnesota visiting a friend and they went to watch the Blue Angels practice a few days ago. Unfortunately, Jenny took off her wedding ring and a Memorial ring she had made and put them where she thought they were safe. It was only after she got back to her friend’s house that evening that she realized they were gone and reached out to me. I got the info from where all they had been and agreed to go in the morning so I would have plenty of light. I ended up finding them about 4 feet apart very deep in the sand because the wind had blown the water in over them on the beach when the tide came in after they left. I was actually impressed again how deep my equipment can find a ring when set right. Jenny and her friend were both thrilled when I drove over and met them to return the rings. Thanks for trusting me Jenny and congrats on getting your rings back.

Lost – Ladies Silver Diamond Engagement Ring, Daytona Beach, FL – FOUND!!!

Eric and his wife had been enjoying a day on Daytona Beach.  His wife had given him her ring for safe keeping while she went in the water.  He put it on his pinky while he dosed in the warm sun listening to the crash of waves.

Just then he realized he didn’t have the ring.  He retraced his steps and found nothing.  Time to call theringfinders.com.

I pick up Eric’s call and headed to the beach.  It only took me about 20 minutes. As I drove I prayed about finding the ring.  Eric met me at the steps as I activated my Minelab Manticore.  He showed me the area where he had been.

As I began sweeping, he said, “the only other place I went to was to the trash can.”  Just then, as I headed that way, both he and I saw the glistening of the diamond in the sand!!  He ran over and picked it up.  As it turned out, sometimes rings are found without metal detectors!!  Happy Family!!
