Chris contacted me about searching his home that had burned during the Eton/Altadena fire, we made arrangements to do the search.

When I arrived Chris and his wife Laura met me at our arranged meeting point, and they took me to their property. Driving through the area just makes my heart sink knowing how all of these people lost everything they had worked so hard for so rapidly. When we arrived they told me that the home was searched already by a Samaritan’s Purse team, but the wanted a more thorough search to insure everything that could be found was found. I searched 3 different areas, and was able to find 5 lumps of melted silver, one of Chris’ hand planes, a decorative anchor, and 5 small pieces of gold including a partial chain, and fully intact earring with gem. They were happy I was able to help, and I was thankful to be able to help as well.

Erin had posted on her local Facebook page about her husbands lost wedding ring on the beach, providing detailed information about the location. Several followers of NJ Ring Finder tagged me in the post, and Erin soon reached out for help. The first thing I advised her was to remove the location details to prevent anyone else from trying to hunt for it. By the time she contacted me, the ring had already been on the beach for 24 hours. Fortunately, I knew the area well—it wasn’t a frequently searched beach, so I felt confident the ring would still be there.

Since Erin had already returned home for the weekend, we arranged for me to meet her parents on the beach the following day. When I arrived, they met me on the boardwalk, and as we walked toward the location, they explained what had happened when the ring was lost. They were fairly certain about the general area, though it was a bit large, and if it wasn’t there, suggested it might be a few feet farther north, closer to the lifeguard chair.

I began methodically working my way back and forth through the marked area. As I passed by where Erin’s parents were sitting, her father pointed out some trash, seaweed, and shells that he remembered being there when the ring was lost. He was confident this was the exact spot. Just a few swings of my detector later, I got a nice low tone—one that very well could have been the ring. Sure enough, as I shook the sand out of my scoop, I heard the unmistakable clink of metal.

Erin’s parents were amazed that I found the ring, and with that, another happy ending to a weekend on the Jersey Shore.

Today, I received an urgent text from Mike, who had been camping and playing football at Carpinteria State Beach. While diving for a catch, his ring slipped off—stripped from his finger in a one-in-a-million moment. He wasn’t sure of the exact spot, but we narrowed it down to a 20×20-foot area of sand. I grabbed my gear and got to work.
The challenge? The beach was littered with bottle caps, pull tabs, and melted aluminum scraps. I plunged my CKG scoop into the sand, gave it a few shakes, and there it was: Mike’s lost ring gleaming in the sunlight!

Lost woman’s rings found in Burleson, TX.

Received a call from John he said his fiancé had thrown her rings in the backyard field and he wanted to recover them before he made an insurance claim. I agreed to meet him on January 31, 2025 and search for the lost rings. I arrived as scheduled and started my search of the large field. I started to my right side and my first pass was about 75’ long  then moved over and searched back 75’. I continued for about an hour and had made about 5 passes 75’ deep by about 50’ wide. At about 1 hour and 10 minutes I found a small gold ring and figured the other one should be close by. About 5 minutes later I found the ring he was looking for. John was glad and  I was happy I was able to locate your ring. Thank you for the reward John!!!

Gold Promise Ring Lost! Ermineskin Neighbourhood, Edmonton Alberta.

I received a phone call and text late last night, but I was unfortunately unavailable. I responded with a text message first thing this morning.

Marcus requested my service to recover his lost promise ring, I understand he was brushing snow off his vehicle seat when the ring flew off his finger. He heard it ping inside the vehicle but couldn’t locate it, and then spent an hour searching the parking lot without success.

We arranged a meeting this morning, but a different vehicle was parked where his vehicle had been. After Marcus explained the situation again, I searched inside his vehicle  and immediate area without finding the ring. Marcus then showed me a photo of where his vehicle had been parked, and I determined the ring must be underneath the vehicle that was parked on the spot where his vehicle was last night.

We discussed the possibility of the vehicle owner being a visitor or employee in the complex. I suggested we either contact each office in the complex to find the owner or wait for them to appear, which could take all day.

Fortunately, we were able to locate the owner quickly, and she kindly moved her vehicle. My first sweep with my metal detector located his ring, Marcus was ectatic to have his ring back on his finger.

Silver Ring lost in Kerikeri Garden While Throwing Dog Toy

Giorgia was visiting family in Kerikeri over the summer break, having come up from Wellington.
While out in the garden, she was throwing toys for the dog when she suddenly thought she saw her silver ring flying through the air.
A quick check of her hand confirmed it—she had lost her ring.
The family quickly sprang into action, searching the lawn, but to no avail.

She contacted me a couple of days later, and before long, I was standing in their garden, recreating the sequence of events with her over the phone.

By this point, Giorgia had returned to Wellington, but talking to her on the phone, she thought the ring might be in the shrubbery to the right of where she had been standing, or possibly as far as 20 meters away in some bushes near the garage.

The dog had only been trained to retrieve toys, not rings…

I covered the likely areas, and because she mentioned seeing the ring airborne, I was able to focus on a fairly tight search quadrant.
As often happens, though, it wasn’t where she thought it would be.

This is when I switched to my ‘unknown location’ search pattern, and sure enough, twenty minutes later, I found the ring tucked into the thatch of the manicured lawn—nearly 90° from the initially indicated direction of travel, and behind a large tree, 15 meters from where she had been standing. It was a spot the family had already searched.

The ring must have bounced off the branches, which deflected it down and behind the tree.
Every search has its unique twists and turns.

While wrestling with his friend on the beach in Ocean City, NJ, Shane’s friends’ chain and pendant suddenly broke and fell into the sand. After several Facebook recommendations, Muoi contacted Ring Finders South Jersey for help the following day. I arrived shortly after the call, got more details from Shane, and began the search with my metal detector. After some searching, the lost jewelry was found, allowing the family to relax and enjoy the beach again.

Ventnor NJ Lost Wedding Band Found by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

Alan couldn’t believe he lost his wedding band on the beach in Ventnor, NJ. He had placed it in the cup holder of his chair while and it must have slipped out without him noticing on the way back to his house. As soon as he realized it was missing, Alan searched through the sand, retracing his steps. A family sitting nearby recommended the Ring Finders South Jersey to him.

Lost gold ring found in snow ditch

A local Hydro worker was cleaning his boot off on the side of the road when his gold ring flew off his finger into the snow covered ditch. It was very deep snow but a quick search found that the ring was only buried a few inches….phew!

Kara reached out to me about her lost diamond earring in the sand in Avalon, NJ. She was removing her shirt and it got caught sending it somewhere into the sand.

Arriving at the beach, I carefully scanned the area with my metal detector where Kara had last seen the earring. My metal detector finally picked up a signal, buried beneath the surface.

There it was – Kara’s lost earring, glinting in the sun. Kara was excited to see the earring! They were able to continue to enjoy the rest of their time at the Jersey Shore in Avalon, New Jersey.
