Ocean City NJ Patch Lost Wedding Band Worn 47 years lost then Found!
I received a call from Jackie about her sister Aileen’s wedding band and engagement ring that were lost earlier this afternoon in Ocean City, NJ. I met with the family on the beach to get some additional details and a general idea for where to start the search. The rings fell into the water when Aileen was throwing a football in the surf. I found the engagement ring buried approximately 8 inches in the sand, much deeper than expected since it was dropped only a couple of hours prior. The wedding band was roughly 10 feet away at the bottom the slope, buried just as deep. It was very exciting to find the rings since the couple just celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary this past Friday! Congratulations!

I received a message on my Ring Finders South Jersey Facebook page from Dorothy who asked if I could help find a wedding ring that was lost in Ocean City, NJ earlier today. The ring belongs to her friend Ryan’s father. I spoke with Ryan and he told me how his father Jim lost his wedding band while out in the waves during high tide. We planned to meet during low tide to give us the best chance at finding it. After a thorough grid search of the area did not produce the ring, I expanded the search out a little farther. It was a few minutes later that I heard the tone and dug down approximately 10 inches in the sand. It was the ring! The ring that Jim has not taken off his hand since 1974, the year he married his wife. It was pure joy when the ring was found and able to be put back where it belongs.

I received a call from Liz about her sister Barb’s wedding band that was lost a week ago. Initially Barb thought her ring was somewhere in the house, but then started to consider that it may have been lost on the beach in Ocean City, NJ when it didn’t turn up. I met with Liz to go over where she thought the ring might be and started my search. Around an hour into the search, I dug the ring that was buried very deep in the sand.

Someone tagged me in a post on Facebook about a gold bracelet that was lost yesterday in Sea Isle City, NJ. Pat didn’t realize his bracelet was missing until he was home later that day. He thought it may have gotten caught on his umbrella while packing up and dropped in the sand. He gave me the area where he was sitting and it was recovered in around 20 minutes! I was tagged in a Facebook post on Friday evening about a class ring that was lost in the ocean in Sea Isle City, NJ. Alisa called me and explained how her daughter Rachel lost her class ring while surfing on Friday. The initial attempt on Saturday morning was limited due to high tide, so we met again later in the afternoon to go out farther. After a through grid search from the water’s edge to chest deep water, the Sacred Heart Academy class ring was found and returned!
