While in transit to a ring hunt in Elgin, Illinois, I received a call from a woman asking me to come to Dekalb, Illinois after my search in Elgin, Illinois. Apparently her husband lost it while using the snowblower around Christmas. The snow had started to melt and they were still unable to locate the White Gold wedding band. I arrived at her home and went inside to have her fill out my search contract. She put on her coat so she could shoe me the area it was lost in. I stepped outside and looked down and picked up the ring. It was in plain view since the snow had just melted. No detector required. Probably my fastest hunt EVER!!

Received a text message about a lost ring in Elgin, Illinois. Apparently on Christmas Eve, his wife was outside cleaning crumbs off a tablecloth . In doing so, her large diamond engagement ring slipped off in the snow. The husband rented a detector but was unable to find the ring. I came out today, 1/10/2018 and did a 30 minute search. I found the ring which had apparently been stepped on by people searching for the ring. Needless to say he was very happy about finding the ring. I’m sure his wife was equally happy!!

LOST WEDDING RING_FOUND IN WATER_ALA MOANA BEACH

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

On Monday January 8th I get a call from a worried yet hopeful Wife named Kate and she explains to me that her husband Ted was in the ocean at Ala Moana beach swimming around in 6 feet deep water when He lost his Damascus steel with 14K wedding ring. I advised Her to rest assure I will be on my way and to let Ted know that it will take me around 30 minutes. While I was packing up my gear and on the phone I started to gather as much information from Kate as i could so I would be able to narrow the beach search area. Once I got the info I  needed I let Kate know…Help is on the way.

Arrived to Ala Moana beach and met up with the couple. Ted marked out the place where he believes he lost it and I started the search. After a few minutes of searching the LOST ring FOUND its way back home! I asked ted ” is the ring stainless steel and White Gold?…Does it look like this?” And the moment they seen the ring I saw relief all over their faces. Ted and Kate was very thankful and the comfort of hearing OH MY GOD…YOU FOUND IT! let me know that this is MORE THAN A RING to them…ITS A COMMITMENT OF EVERLASTING LOVE and for me to be apart of reuniting their ring WAS MY PLEASURE. Another happy family and it’s always good to hear GOOD NEWS!!! “Inside Scoops-Kate&Ted”. Well Congratulations and have a wonderful time enjoying the Ohana… Time flys so enjoy every moment!!! Northland Ring Lost, Found and Returned after Five Years in the Sand!

  • from Paihia (New Zealand)

Jan 2nd, 2018

Hot on the heels of my first ring recovery for this summer, I finally managed to track down the owner of a ring I found mid-2017.

It had been returned from Police Found Property, although the fact it had an unusual name engraved inside made me want to try and find the owner myself.

Seven months of lurking around the internet and multiple dead ends later (including one opportunist who had a good go at claiming it!) I finally found them.

They live in Chile and lost it while on holiday, so not surprising the New Zealand Police had no luck.

No photo, but I’ll let the Facebook dialog tell the rest.

This reunion made me realise how many tourists leave their rings behind in NZ, purely because they don’t know who to ask for help.

And so I joined The RingFinders.

Lost Ring at Russell Beach Found for Christmas

  • from Paihia (New Zealand)

Dec 21st, 2017

I received a call while at work from a very upset lady, the usual story of a slightly-too-large ring and the sea.

The previous day she had gone for a morning swim, and returned to discover she and her ring had parted company.

I knew the beach in question is a very mobile shingle and notorious for ‘swallowing’ rings so time was of the essence. It already had a two-tide head start…

Next low was in two hours, so I cashed in some of my leave and headed away in order to catch it.
An hour and a half and a car ferry later, I arrived on site. Looking at the steep beach angle, coupled with recent wind and wave conditions I could only realistically give her a 50:50 chance of finding it.

After a quick walk through of the timeline and reenacting the whats and wheres leading up to the loss, I marked out the area of highest probability and started searching between the tideline and the waist-deep point where it dropped away to deep water. Figured I’d do the hotspot first before getting the wetsuit on!

A lot of litter signals from can tabs and so forth caused several stops to listen carefully and determine if it was the ring… all were discounted for one reason or another.

Then, on the third line a strong clear tone and the scoop went in for a big bite out of the gravel. I checked the hole to make sure I had the target, dropped my marker float and waded ashore to empty the scoop.

Dumping the gravel onto the beach, sitting quite brazenly on top of the pile of stones was the ring, and in only 12 minutes from switching the machine on (Largely thanks to an extremely accurate start point).

Handed her the lost ring with a smile and a “Happy Christmas!” accompanied by a small round of applause from onlookers.

One extremely grateful, and very relieved couple.

Early Christmas Present

In the space of 30 or so hours, it had already sunk 6-8 inches. I was quietly pleased to have snatched this one back from the beach!

Lost Platinum and Diamond Ring at Venice Beach, CA. ..Proposal Gone Wrong

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Troy had planned his proposal to Karina for months. It was a romantic evening at Venice Beach, CA. near the pier. While sitting on the sand preparing for the big moment Troy had been fiddling with the ring box nervously waiting for the perfect moment. He got down on his knees to present the ring to Karina and upon opening the box it was empty. He was crushed! The beautiful platinum/ diamond engagement was no longer in the ring box.

Both Troy and Karina spent hours sifting through the sand with their fingers. They slept on the beach all night guarding the location. When Troy google searched to find TheRingFinders he called me from the store where he had planned to purchase a metal detector. I told him not to waste his money. I would be able to meet him within an hour. Our possibilities of finding the ring was good if he stayed at the location the ring was lost.

After showing up to hear his story it was a matter of minutes till I was able to find the beautiful diamond/platinum engagement ring. Karina had not seen it, so Troy decided to save that special moment till later.
They both were grateful and relieved to have the ring recovered.

If if you have lost your ring or other metallic valuable please call as soon as possible. I’m available 24/7 . My search areas include all of Los Angeles County and Orange County . I Will Try Anywhere.

Lost ring found Traverse City, Mi

  • from Traverse City (Michigan, United States)

I got an email from a lady named Charity stating she lost her white gold ring with diamonds. She was brushing snow of her vehicle when leaving work at 12:30 am. She had searched for the ring for an hour that night. Then the next day till she had to go inside to warm back up. I was on location an hour after getting the email. It was 9 degrees outside and found the ring about 8 feet from where she thought it was.  The ring was packed into snow about 3 inched deep in the parking lot. The ring needed to be found before the snowplows got to it.  Did not have a chance for a picture due to her being on duty at work. I was very happy to help in the recovery.
