Silver Ring Lost in Bushes, Found and Returned Little River, SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

About 2-3 weeks ago the next-door neighbor Jim, knocked on the door. He said that Taylor, a friend of his daughter, had lost a special silver ring in the yard. I grabbed my Equinox 800 out of the garage and made my way next door. Taylor was out there, and I asked her what happened. She explained that as she was walking to her car, she was running into spiders hanging down out of the tree. As she was swinging at the spiders to get them out of the way, her ring flew off her finger. I turned on the detector and searched the front yard with no luck. Unfortunately, there was a bush that was maybe 5 feet tall and very thick right in the line of fire. I searched under, over and behind the bush the best that I could and still couldn’t find it.

Well, I got busy, and it slipped my mind until I was standing in my driveway, and it hit me. I grabbed my pin pointer and set the detecting distance to about 3 inches. I went over to the bush, sat on the ground and started reaching as far as I could under the bush. About a quarter of the way around the bush, I stuck the pin pointer under the bush and got a solid tone. Wasn’t sure what I hit but it was metal. I reached up under the bush, felt around and felt her ring. Just as I found it, the neighbor, Jim pulled into his driveway. He called Taylor and gave her the good news. She was excited and said she thought the ring was gone for good. I gave Jim the ring and am waiting for Taylor to pick it up and get a picture of her smile.

Lost Gold Nugget Ring at Nimitz Beach Kalaeloa…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Leila asking, ” I was wondering if you could help me out.  I lost my ring at the beach today and need a metal detector to find it.  I’m pretty sure the one we bought was cheaply made and need someone with experience too.  The ring was passed down to me and I feel devastated that it’s lost.  I’m located in the Kapolei area and lost it in the sand last night.”  I called Leila and I told her I would have to see what traffic was like and I would try to grab my gear and head out during lunch.  Thankfully,  traffic was a breeze and I got to Nimitz Beach in record time.  Leila & her sister Jade were two minutes behind me.  When we got to the search area Jade drew a box in the sand where they thought the ring may have fallen out of a beach bag Leila’s boyfriend Jah was attending to.  It only took 5 minutes but no ring.  Only a few lead weights and two quarters.  I asked Leila and Jade where else did Jah go so we can trace his path.  It was down the beach in both directions.  I hunted the westerly direction first as it was the shortest distance.  No ring!  I then went in the easterly direction.  Thankfully not much trash.  Suddenly about 20 yards from the original search area I got a booming tone on the Manticore.  In one scoop a chunky Gold Nugget ring appeared.  Jade wasn’t sure about the ring so we called Leila who had taken her baby back to the car.  Jade sent her a pic and she confirmed it was the Gold Nugget ring she lost.  We met halfway,  near a picnic area for the return.  Leila was obviously relieved and Jah was out of the dog house!  Aloha to Leila, Jade & Jah!

Men’s Wedding Band Lost Wringing a Rag in Crane Hill, Alabama… FOUND!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

I received a text message on Sunday afternoon (August 31st, 2025) from Roger stating he had lost his gold and titanium wedding band a few weeks ago while wringing out a rag at his vacation home in Crane Hill, Alabama.  Both Roger and his wife, Dawn had their wedding bands custom made about 6-7 years ago while on a trip to Switzerland.  I told Roger that I’d be more than happy to help.  I was having family over for dinner, but told him I could come out the next morning on Labor Day.  Finding lost items is definitely not work to me (lol) and was the perfect way to celebrate the holiday!

I met Roger and his family around 9 am the next morning.  He showed me where he was standing and where he saw his ring drop.  He said it looked like it landed in the small patch of grass on top of the large rocks.  Roger was standing on the second story balcony and it was a long drop to the bottom.  The house was on a decent incline (picture below), so the ring could have easily rolled down the hill, which lead to their boat dock at Smith Lake.  I grabbed my Minelab Equinox 900 with the 15-inch coil and started my search.

I searched for over an hour, covering every spot by the drop zone and down the hill.  Roger’s daughter suggested that I expand my search further to the left side, because it had rained a lot over the last few weeks and she thought it may have washed down between two trees.  I covered that area all the way to the steps leading to the dock, but still no ring.  I went to the bottom of the hill by the woods and dock to make a final pass since I had searched just about everywhere possible.  As I was walking through, I suddenly eyeballed Roger’s ring sitting against the small wooden rail right before the drop off to the dock and lake!  Wow, what a miracle!!  It had rolled all the way down the hill and stopped just before the dock (picture below).  If the ring continued to roll, it may have went over the dock and into the lake!  You just never know how far rings will travel.  It was also one of the heaviest rings I have found, which could’ve caused the long roll plus the long drop from the second story balcony.  I immediately thanked God for the last-minute save!

I took some pictures and headed up the stairs to knock on the door.  Dawn and her daughter greeted me.  Dawn asked if I was going to call it.  With a disappointed face I said, “yes, going to call it and head home.”  Then I gave a big smile and said, “because Roger’s ring has been found!!”  They both said, “are you kidding!?”  I said, “not kidding, we got it!”  Then I showed them a picture.  They were so happy and said I had to say the same thing to Roger, lol, who was outside in the front.  I could tell that Roger was slightly disappointed when I said I was going to head home.  But then I smiled and told him the good news!  Smiles all around 😊 Roger gave me a couple of big hugs and thanked me profusely.

I had left Roger’s ring right where I had found it to show them where it ended up.  Roger, Dawn, and I went down to retrieve it.  Everyone was so happy and couldn’t believe it had rolled that far.  This was definitely the perfect way to spend Labor Day!

Tatyana called me explaining how she had lost her ring after being hit by a wave at the beach. I looked at the tide chart, and realized the tide was coming in, so the opportunity for a search in the water this day was gone. We arranged to meet the next day as the tide was receding in order to have the best chance of a recovery.

When I got to the beach we found each other quickly, and Tatyana led me over to the area of the loss. She explained what had happened, and pointed out the specific area I should search. I began on the wet sand outside of the water thinking maybe the tide had gone out enough to find the ring. It wasn’t going to happen that way, so I began to search in the water finding a few pieces of trash metal. I began to come out of the water on one pass, and received a whisper of a signal in the headphones and dug, when I dumped the sand and kicked it, I saw the glimmer of gold, reached down, and had Tatyana’s ring. She had her back to me when this happened, so I walked over to her with my hand outstretched holding the ring. When she saw it she became very emotional. It was then she told me how her father had this ring custom made for her, and had passed away just this last March. This was a very important recovery for her because of the memory of her father. So glad I was able to help.

Despite the beach and weather conditions from offshore hurricane Erin, Morganna and her husband managed to sneak in some beach time enjoying the sand with their children on the beach here in Cape May. Her husband had removed his ring and placed it in the pouch of their beach chair for safe keeping while they played in the sand with their children. After a few hours, and deteriorating weather conditions, the family packed up the crew and headed off the beach forgetting that the ring had been placed in the chair pocket. Shortly after returning to their hotel room the couple realized what had transpired and began checking the chair only to find the ring was gone. They returned to the beach to search with no success. During this time Cape May had experienced extremely rough surf and very high tides due to hurricane Erin. The next morning Morganna reached out and we made arrangements to meet on the beach. Once she led me to the general area where they were set up on the beach I began searching. After about 30 minutes of searching I had her husbands ring in the scoop. Clearly the high tide had washed over it, and given where it was found, had also moved the ring about 25 yards from where the family had been sitting. Another happy couple!
Morgannas review:
“Jeff was amazing! Such a nice guy who is willing to help anyone! Messaged him in the morning, met up with him around 9 and he found my husband’s wedding band within the hour! Despite all the rip tides and tropical storm weather he still found it!!”

I received a late night text from Lily explaining that she and her girlfriends had spent an afternoon on Sunset Beach off Alexander Ave in Cape May Point. At some point she believed that her mothers class ring, which Lily wore, had slipped out of her shorts pocket while they were on the beach. This occurred about TWO WEEKS prior to her reaching out! We chatted back and forth while I gathered some specifics about their location. Lily wasn’t sure if the ring was even there but I assured her that I would attempt to check the area regardless. The next morning I rode over to Alexander Ave and began checking the area before beach patrons arrived. With only one photograph and a text description of the area I began checking the beach. After about 25 minutes of searching I had her mothers ring in the scoop. Lily had already returned home several weeks prior so he ring was shipped back to her. Another happy client, another successful hunt!
Lily’s review of service:
“Very quick and responsive! Found my mother’s class ring that I had lost two weeks prior. He found it in the sand and sent it to me through the mail since I don’t live locally. Highly recommend!”

Lost platinum ring lost in Franklin, TN found by RingFinder metal detectorist

  • from Nashville (Tennessee, United States)

Kasey called me late on 09-05-2025 after losing a very sentimental platinum ring in her yard. A friend of hers saw TheRingFinder website and Kasey saw that I was only about an hour drive from her. We agreed that I would conduct the search the following day.

Kasey and her husband had been cutting down an old wrought iron fence around a swimming pool that was going to be removed. She had placed her ring in her pocket, thinking it was safe there. At some point during the day she took her phone out of her pocket, and the ring fell to the ground, which was covered in about 4” tall, thick grass.

She and her husband spent hours looking for the ring, even using her father-in-laws metal detector. She said all the machine did was make lots of noise over every square inch of the property.

After Kasey pointed out the areas that she suspected her ring might be I began a grid search with my metal detector. Right at the 42 minute mark, I got the signal in my headphones that more or less said, “you found me, so let’s go surprise Kasey.” I had Kasey come back outside to show me the areas where I should be looking again. As she was pointing them out to me I held the ring up. It took her a few seconds to see it, but when she did, the huge smile on her face made it obvious that I had made her day. Kasey shared with me that her husband had designed the ring and the large center diamond was from her grandmother, so the ring was not replaceable. What a wonderful day for all.

Real-Life Ring Recovery Story: Marina Beach Park Success.
On Labor Day evening, Cheryl contacted Dave, distraught because her husband lost his wedding ring while boogie boarding at Marina Beach Park in Ventura. The ring, loose from frequent beach trips, slipped off during a tumble in the surf. Cheryl usually safeguarded it, but this time, both were caught off guard by a big wave.Since the ring was lost in the surf, Dave planned a search during the low tide at 2:45 AM Friday to avoid the heavy shorebreak. Marina Park’s bowl-shaped beach meant shifting sands could bury the ring deeper, so timing was critical. Dave promised to pray for its safe return and began gridding the beach at low tide.Working alone in the early hours, Dave split the beach into sections, focusing on the left side where Cheryl’s husband was boogie boarding. After 35 minutes with no targets, he moved to the north side. On his third pass, a pull-tab tone led to a men’s wedding band in his CKG scoop. Unsure if it was the right ring, Dave continued searching until 3:45 AM, finding no other targets. He sent a photo to Cheryl, went home to rest, and at 7:00 AM, Cheryl confirmed with joy—it was her husband’s ring!

Received a call from Collier, Collier explained that his ring had slipped off while he was standing in knee deep surf and disappeared beneath the water. While on the phone with Collier I checked the tide chart and we planned on meeting up once the tide receded. Once the tide was down to almost low, I met Collier on the beach. Once he directed me to the general area I began checking and located his ring in about 5 minutes, much to Collier’s surprise! Another vacation saved!
Colliers review: “I lost my ring in the ocean today, and 6 hours after I lost the ring, he came and found it in 5 minutes! Incredible. Came right when he said he would, and is a very friendly guy. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
