David lost his wedding band during a day on the beach with his family in Cape May, NJ. He thought the ring slipped off and fell into the sand when he moved his family’s beach chairs to a new location. He called me the following day and I met him shortly afterward. I was able to find the ring quickly, and he was able to get back to enjoying Cape May!

I Phone lost in the bay, Harvey Cedars NJ, LBI, recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

John called asking about recovering his phone that he dropped in the bay while unloading his boat. He dropped it the night before and knew the general area that it was in.  Besides the phone, his drivers license was in the case also. I arranged to meet him at the house, where we talked out the details, grabbed my equipment, and headed into the water. John stood in one spot acting as one point of reference, and I used the mooring buoy as the other. The bottom was very muddy and covered with weed matter, making the search a little tricky. Working back and fourth, I covered everything between my 2 reference points with no luck, and decided to work a bit between him and the shore line. Winds had shifted from the day before, moving the boat and mooring buoy about 180*, which kinda threw things off a bit. I wondered way out to the right of the mooring to an area that wasn’t covered yet, and bingo, I got the signal I wanted. When I lifted the phone out of the water it was dinging like crazy after it locked onto Wi-Fi. These newer phones are incredibly waterproof.

Kyle was tossing a football in the ocean when his wedding band got knocked off his finger. It flew in the water when the ball hit his hand. He and his family were on the beach in North Wildwood, NJ when Jackie called me with the details. I met up with them and searched the area, but the ring didn’t come up. The tide had gone out a bit since he lost it, so some beachgoers had moved closer to the water. The only spot left to check was an area where two people were sitting. They kindly moved their chairs and, lo and behold, the ring was buried in the sand below! It was an exciting end to the search in North Wildwood, NJ.

Lost Claddagh Ring Found Avalon NJ by John Favano Ring Finders South Jersey

Lost ring avalon nj

Kaleigh realized she didn’t have her jewelry just as she was about to walk off the beach for the day. She spent the day with some friends relaxing on the beach in Avalon, NJ. Earlier, she put her jewelry in her chair but forgot they were in there before packing up her belongings. She immediately walked back to where she was sitting and saw the jewelry. It was all there except her Claddagh ring. The lost ring was sentimental because it was something she brought back from a trip to Ireland. We met up the next morning and had a general idea of the location. I started the search with the metal detector and the Claddagh ring was found! It was a great start to the day in Avalon, New Jersey!

Sea Isle City NJ Lost Wedding Band Found by Ring Finders South Jersey John Favano

  • from North Wildwood (New Jersey, United States)

Nikki’s husband lost his wedding band shortly after he arrived at the beach in Sea Isle City, NJ. He started the day by sitting down to eat some lunch. After he was finished his sandwich, he stood up to dust off some crumbs. Unfortunately, his wedding band came off while he was cleaning his hands. What started as a relaxing day at the beach turned into an unexpected search for the lost ring. The family tried looking for the ring with no success, so his daughter searched for other options. She found Ring Finders South Jersey online and gave me a call. I met them and found out some more details. It wasn’t long after I started the search that I heard the tone of the platinum ring and dug it out of the sand. The family was excited to get back to their vacation in Sea Isle!

Boyd left the beach in Avalon, NJ, forgetting that he put his wedding band on the top of his backpack. He sent me an email asking for help locating the ring with my metal detector. We met up later that evening in Avalon and spoke about the area that it might be in. I started the search where he thought they were sat, but it wasn’t there. Boyd spoke to his wife and she thought they sat a little closer to the water.  I continued the search. After metal detecting area for about 25 minutes, the band was found!

Lost Wedding Ring in the grass, Toms River NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Anita called and asked if I would be able to locate her sons wedding ring that was lost in her yard, while they were watching the fireworks last week. She explained that the yard was pretty big, and that they had already rented a metal detector, and had no luck finding the ring. I asked if she was positive the ring was lost in the yard, and she said yes, he  was swatting a bug with his left hand and felt it fly off. I told her I was confident I would find it, and ill head right over if she wanted.  When I got there she showed me where he was sitting, and how he swatted at the bug. I started looking in the direction he had swung, working my way down the slope, toward the water. After about 20′ or so I started getting discouraged, but continued about 15′ more. There were numerous signals in the area, but only a few that even remotely sounded like a large platinum ring. I walked back up to talk to Anita, and confirm what she had said prior.  This time she mentioned the chair was facing the river, which was 90* from the way it was facing, and that meant the ring was to the left!! I told her that makes a huge difference, and we  were not searching the right spot. About 8′ on the first pass and BOOM, there was the loud tone of a big ring.  Sure enough, that was the ring.

I had the opportunity to be part of an extremely special and exciting recovery this past weekend in Wildwood, NJ. Holden and Carley are high school sweethearts from the Hershey, PA area who were in town helping with their local color guard who competed at the Tournament of Bands Indoor Championship at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Carley enjoys looking for seashells, so Holden’s plan was to propose to her on the beach the night before they were leaving to go home.

Holden put the engagement ring in his shirt pocket before they left for the beach, so he could pull it out easily when it was time to propose. They were out on the beach for a while collecting shells, but when it was time to take the ring out of his pocket, he realized it wasn’t there. He figured it fell out while bending over to pick up a shell and thought it was lost forever. His mother Christi’s friend suggested they give me a call to help find the ring, so she texted me a little after 10 PM on Saturday night. We met at the entrance to the beach a few minutes after I responded to their text, and he gave me more information about the sequence of events from earlier that day and landmarks he remembered.

The search area was quite large, and it was close to 11 PM before I got started. It was dark, chilly and windy on the beach that night, but we were determined to find the ring. After gridding for roughly 25 minutes, I stopped to ask Holden a few more questions which quickly led me to where the ring was buried. A few swings with the metal detector in a more precise area, and the ring was found!
The events that unfolded next were truly awesome to watch. Holden went back to meet Carley and was able to propose with the engagement ring. It is a memory that will not be forgotten.

Joe and his family spent some time on the beach this Memorial Day weekend in Avalon, NJ. Unfortunately, Claire lost a special piece jewelry that was given to her by her boyfriend. She took off her necklace before going in the ocean for safekeeping. While taking it off, the emerald and diamond pendant dropped in the sand. Joe reached out to me and I was able to meet them 15 minutes later to start the search. After searching for approximately 30 minutes, the pendant was found buried in the sand. A nice ending to a great beach day in Avalon, NJ.
