Lost gold wedding ring in the grass in Palm Coast, Florida…Found with a metal detector and returned to happy owner!

Mike was doing some yard work and had just replanted a small ornamental bush and since the ground was super wet from the recent hurricane Milton, his hands were full of dirt and mud.  He went to the hose on the side of his house and rinsed off his hands and shook them to get the final extra water off and that action caused his wedding ring to drop directly into the thick St. Augustine grass.  He actually heard it hit the grass at his feet and proceeded to look for it but his ring had completely disappeared.  He then got his rake, thinking that he could rake out the loose grass and his ring would reveal itself but soon realized that method was not working out so well either.

Later that evening he typed into Google, “How to find a ring in the grass” and that led him to theringfinders.com website and my number.  I agreed to meet Mike and his dear wife of 28 years the following day and that is when he showed me the exact area where he was standing when he dropped his ring.  It only took two minutes to cover the small area and the only signal I got was a strong gold like signal that revealed where Mike’s lost wedding ring was hiding.  I gave Mike my Garrett pin pointer and showed him the spot and he did the rest.  All smiles and a huge sigh of relief and another very happy ending to a tense situation!

What a joy it is to be able to help reunite people’s lost sentimental rings with the rightful owners!  Lost something and need help?

Elaine called me to ask for help finding her husbands wedding ring that was lost “somewhere” either in their home or outside of their house! (That sort of information usually indicates that a thorough search could take hours!) So we met Elaine and her husband Bill and asked lots of questions about the day his ring went missing. Bill had done a bunch of work in one of their rooms…like tearing up old carpeting and hauling it outside along with a big mattress and other items. One thing he did remember was when he was showering he recalled scrubbing his hands with a small scrub brush and while drying off he noticed that his ring was not on his finger. This is his wedding ring that he has worn for 46 years and he rarely takes it off. So we took up the drain cover in the shower thinking that just maybe it fell down the drain while scrubbing his hands and showering. But after running my endoscope down as far as possible and not seeing it we determined it must be somewhere else. We looked outside everywhere that Bill remembered going on that day and then we searched inside as much as possible. It is a large home…10,000 square feet to be exact so there was allot of area and after a few hours we called it quits.

I tried to encourage Bill and Elaine that there is always hope of finding it and not to give up hope. Reminding them to be sure to call me if and when they do find it! And….8 days later I get a call from Elaine saying they found it under a pile of old sheets and curtains that came out of the room that they are remodeling! It is always a pleasure to help folks find and locate their lost item whether I am able to find it myself or help them find it on their own.

Lost ring at the beach, Ormond Beach, Fl….Found with metal detector!

Brenda and a friend were driving south along the Atlantic coast of Florida heading into the Ormond Beach area and decided to stop at one of the sandy parking areas along the road. Here and there they could see wooden board walks going over the dunes making it easy access to the beach but it just so happened that where they pulled off there were no such walkways. Instead there was a small trail that led onto the beach which was OK as here there were less people. After walking onto the sand Brenda removed her special heirloom ring and put it into the bottom of her bag thinking she would get it later on. For 45 minutes they enjoyed the sun, sand and cool ocean breezes and then headed back to the car. Before getting into her car Brenda opened the back of her Ford Escape and pulled a towel from her bag to wipe the sand off of her feet. Two hours later she arrived home in Dade City and as she went through her bag and car she could not find her precious ring. Slight panic set in as it slowly dawned on her that just maybe her ring had come out somewhere at the stop along the beach.

After receiving and reading Brenda’s text I agreed that it would be a long shot..BUT…I have seen miracles happen and I tried to encourage Brenda to not give up HOPE! We texted back and forth and I asked a ton of questions to try and narrow down the exact search area. Four days later I decided to make the one hour drive. I had drawn up a map of the most likely places to search and my number one spot most resembled what Brenda described and as I pulled off the road I could see the area had received allot of rain and there was a large puddle of water all along the side of the road. My plan was to search the parking area first and then work my way down onto the beach. It was raining cats and dogs so I put on my rain coat and boots, grabbed my water proof ATMax metal detector and carefully made my way along the edge of the road, being careful of the cars passing close by doing at least 45 mph! My first pass netted a few pull tabs and two pennies and half way back I got a sweet 45 reading that no one in their right mind would pass up. Being as it was in the middle of the puddle I used my Garrett AT pin pointer and grabbed a handful of sand and slowly rinsed my hand in the water to reveal a glimmer of gold! I was stunned as I stared at Brenda’s gold, diamond and opal heirloom ring in my hand! A shout of joy left my lips as I looked towards heaven and thanked my God Almighty for allowing me the blessing and opportunity of finding Brenda’s lost ring. I immediately took a selfie and texted Brenda, who was in the middle of helping her sister move. I waited a couple of minutes…and nothing. So I called her…she answered…and I asked if she saw my text? She hadn’t and for the next few minutes she was so overwhelmed that she could not talk, so I shared the details with her dear sister. What a thrill it is to be a part of such a joyous moment!

Have you ever wondered what happens to a ring that is lost at the beach in the sand? One might think it is next to impossible to find it again after the waves and sand move and wash with the daily tides. And many a poor soul has walked away from such a loss thinking that there is no hope. But I have some really good news! Because there actually is allot of hope and a great possibility of recovering your lost item.

Connor was faced with a potentially devastating situation just this past weekend. He and some friends were enjoying an unusually warm day at Ormond Beach and before getting wet he decided to wrap his phone and his cherished high school class ring in his shirt and laid it on his friends towel. After a while they returned to their towels to dry off and unfortunately when Connor grabbed his shirt his ring somehow slipped out and into the sand and as they climbed into their vehicles he noticed his ring was not with his phone. Quickly he retraced his steps but could not find his ring. They tried raking the sand and even borrowed a friends low end metal detector but it simply made way too much noise so they gave up the search.

Connors mom posted on Next Door and some kind soul suggested The Ring Finders, so Lindsey sent me a text and thankfully I was available to drop what I was doing and after packing up my van with all my necessary equipment I headed to Ormond Beach. An hour later I met Connor and he showed me exactly where thought he was when he lost his ring. I set four corner flags out and began grid searching the dry sand hoping to find his lost class ring and after 30 minutes no ring. I had my Whites TDI Beach Hunter, metal detector set to dig all signals and continued expanding my search area quite a ways beyond where Connor indicated. Finally I started down onto the packed wet sand and 20 minutes later I got a banging signal. I decided to dig with my hand ensuring that I would not scratch or damage the item rather than use my metal scoop. I dug down at least five inches and still nothing was showing in the hole so I took my pin pointer and it indicated the target was very close. Another inch and I could see a silver rim–and I thought I must have found someone else’s lost ring–until I tried to pull the ring from its hiding place. And oh my goodness and thank you Lord, were the exact words that came out of my mouth! I quickly snapped some photos and sent them to Connor! Within minutes he drove up to claim his lost and now found treasure!

Here is what Mrs. Lindsey had to say. “I am crying happy tears over here! You are amazing! Thank you thank you! I am such a sentimental person and even though the ring isn’t that valuable, it is priceless to me! All his senior memories have been made wearing that ring. I just cant’t thank you enough! You truly are an angle! I wish I could give you more $ but please know our family will never forget what you have done for us! Thank you thank you! I will keep your info saved for life!!! I seriously can’t stop screaming and smiling!!! Lindsey”

Lost wedding ring in ocean, Ormond Beach, Florida….Found and Returned!

Brett called me Sunday evening and asked if I was still helping people find their lost rings. That is usually a dead give away that they or someone close to them, needs help! Brett went on to explain that earlier that day he and his family were on the beach enjoying the sun. sand and surf and while playing catch with a football he felt his ring slip off of his finger. He was only in ankle deep water and he thought he would be able to retrieve it but try as he might, he could not find his lost ring. He said he was really bummed out and he slowly gave up hope of ever seeing his lost wedding ring again.
Later that evening , while at a restaurant, Brett’s friend showed him his phone and said, “Take a look at this!”. And there displayed on his screen was theringfinders.com web site and a story about a successful lost ring recovery. That was all it took for Brett to find my name and number and the next morning we made arrangements to meet on the beach.
Bright and early the next day Brett and his lovely wife, Christian, showed me the area where the ring fell into the water and I set up my four flags and started searching. Nothing showed up in the 20 X 40 foot area so I expanded my grid to either side. Fifteen minutes into the search and I got a cracking signal on my Dual Field Whites metal detector and three inches down was Brett’s lost ring. As I shook the sand from the scoop I looked up and Christina and her friend were sunning themselves and they did not notice that I had found the lost ring. So I walked up to their lounge chairs and shook the scoop so they could hear the clinking sound of the ring and that brought them to their feet! The relief and joy on Christina’s face and the long hug was evident that this day was going to be remembered for a long time. Thank you Brett and Christina for calling me and giving me the opportunity to help you and for your generous reward! God bless you both! Lost something valuable? Give me a call ASAP!
