Lost Gold Coin at Rock Ridge High School Soccer Field, West Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I just got back in town and I received a call from a young man that told me he lost his gold coin at a school soccer field. He said he was play football with friends and noticed his 1945 Mexican gold coin was missing from it’s setting.  He was absolutely devastated, I could hear it in his voice. I on the other hand was excited to have the chance to search for a gold coin, it’s not everyday you get call like this and I remember a couple of years ago I was called out to a baseball field to find a $5.00 US gold coin. (Found it)

I found out after asking that the gold coin was the young man’s fathers and he bugged him for years to get it from him as he just loved it…On his 16th birthday his father gave it to him and he wore it ever since. This makes the search very important as I know how much it means to the young man that I find it. (Pressure)

We decided to meet at the school the next day early in the morning and thankfully the school was out on strike so no kids. We met and discussed the search area, it was a big search area but he remembered getting hit in the chest by the football in a specific area and he marked that with one of my cones that I use for the grid.

He had to go to work, he wished me luck on the search and drove away. My first thought was to search the spot that he got hit with the ball. After 20 minutes I got a good signal not far from the spot he got hit by the ball, I looked down and saw the gold coin in the long grass.

He was so happy and relieved that he had his coin back…He said that he was going to make a good setting for the coin so this won’t happen again.

Metal Detecting For a Lost Rose Gold Wedding Band at UBC, Vancouver.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Today I was running around getting ready for a trip to the Rocky Mountains to Yoho National Park (10 hour drive) to look for a lost silver ring in 4 feet of water…Ice cold glacier water! I looked at the weather channel and it was snowing there today and a chance of flurries tomorrow…Of course I just sold my truck… I got home at 2pm today and started cooking a meal when I got a call from a young lady who lost her wedding band at UBC (University of British Columbia) She wanted to know if I could come out and find it for her…I was on my way!

It’s about a 45 minute drive to get there and when I arrived I was greeted by a young lady by the name of Noa. She walked me down to the location where she lost her ring and told me that she lost 2 rings but found 1 by looking around. The problem was there was long grass all around and the ring could easily be in the grass. I started my search and unfortunately there was lots of targets in this area…10 minutes later I heard that nice medium tone and I separated the grass and saw the rose gold ring glinting in the sunlight.

Metal Detecting For a Lost Diamond Wedding Band, Vancouver BC…

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I was relaxing at home and thinking of hitting the hay when the phone rings just a few minutes before 10 pm. It was a young lady who sounded very upset and was wondering if I could help find her diamond wedding band.

After talking about the search she was brave enough to tell me that she got mad at her husband and tossed the ring into a grassy area by the college. Believe it or not that is a very common thing that people do…You never see many people on my videos talking about this because they don’t want to be seen or talk about such a search, and most won’t want their picture taken. I woke up quickly and grabbed my equipment and headed to Langara College where she was waiting.

I was greeted by a very sad young lady when I arrived and we talked about the search area, I had her throw my wedding band so I can see the general area and strength of the toss. I started my search and after a lot of questions and approximately 30 minutes and my second cross grid of the area I got a good signal and there between the grass blades was her diamond wedding band!

I was so happy to see that ring and I was able to surprise her as she did’t see me find it…

I hope she and her husband can patch things up and she can look back and smile about the night the ring went flying.   Thanks for watching! If you lost something and need it found call me ASAP   You can watch the video of the search below…

Lost Wedding Ring Katy, Texas (Recovered)

Lost Wedding Ring Katy, Texas (Recovered)

Texas Labor Day Slip and Slide, beating the Texas Heat…awesome.

I received a call from Sean on Monday-Labor Day, regarding his lost wedding ring. Sean said he had been at a friends house participating in some labor day festivities when he lost his ring. Sean said they had constructed a giant slip and slide for Labor Day and he had been sliding on it when he discovered his wedding ring missing from his finger.

The Slip and Slide Race:

Sean said the rules to the race were simple slide down the slip and slide, run to a table twenty feet away, chug a beer, and the flip the beer cup until it lands right side up. Once that was done your teammate could start the race and this would continue until all of your teammates completed the race. The best 7 out of 7 runs would determine the winner, my thought was it would be nice if you could still hit the slip and slide after beer 5-6? LOL  Sounds like it was a lot of fun, but unfortunately Sean lost his Wedding Ring at some point during the fun.

Sean said once he discovered his wedding ring was missing everyone at the party stopped and assisted him in looking for his lost ring, but it was not found. Sean said he returned the following day and spent 6 hours working the search area with his fathers metal detector, but he was still not able to find his lost ring.

Sean said he located me on the internet at “The Ring Finders”

I asked Sean to send me a few photo’s of the area needing to be searched,  I always like getting a view of the area prior to the search. Sean sent the following video of the labor day event and a picture of his lost ring.  The video quality is poor, but you will get the idea.

I met Sean today at his friends house in Katy, Texas to search for his lost ring.

I think Sean had completely given up hope of getting his ring back after 2 hours of searching. We took a short break, and then I asked Sean to walk me through the events in detail (where he started from, where he ran too, etc.) and it was at this time we talked about how the slip and slide had been moved a few times to get it just right. I had Sean walk me through the locations of where the slid had been moved from on the previous set-up attempts.

I worked the outer edge of one of the ealier set-up locations and was awaken by a nice tone from the CTX3030. I looked down and saw Sean’s Ring sitting right on top of the grass.

Metal Detecting for a lost Gold Wedding Band, Spanish Banks Beach, Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call this afternoon from a young man by the name of John who lost his wedding band at Spanish Banks beach. He was playing volleyball the day before and felt his ring come off his finger on the very first hit of the ball. He told me he spent 15 minutes searching the sand and finally gave up the search.

We arranged to meet at the beach after he was done at work around 5 pm, because it was a day later and at the volleyball court I told him that we could’ve been beaten to the punch as there are lots of treasure hunters out there looking for gold. One saving factor was that there was 24 volleyball courts in this area, I knew that he had a good chance to get his ring back but you have to prepare for the worst…

John told me that his wife was very understanding and he wasn’t in the doghouse for losing his ring, but it would sure be nice to find it…

We made sure we were on the right court (Court 9) John showed me the area he believed his ring was lost in and I began my search. I knew it would be a quick search if the ring was there but I wasn’t finding it in the area John thought it was lost.

After about 8 minutes of searching I gave John my ring and asked him to put it on his finger and pretend he was hitting the volleyball so I could see the direction the ring went. It went left and that told me that it had to be further left of my grid and bang! Found it…

I love seeing gold in the scoop and the smile that comes with the recovery.

After talking to John I found out that tomorrow was his 4th wedding anniversary… it was Perfect timing to get his ring back!

Lost Titanium Wedding Band at English Bay Beach…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got a call the other night from a young man who was on his honeymoon from Cleveland Ohio.  He told me that he lost his titanium wedding band well paddle boarding at English Bay Beach, he knew the area where the ring came off because it was when he fell of the board.

We discussed the search and because it was going on a high tide there was nothing i could do until morning. The young man was able to tell me where the ring was lost because it marked off the area and had land marks for me to line up with.

I wanted to be on the beach by 7:30 but I couldn’t find parking because there was a huge marathon going on early in the morning , it took me over an hour to get near the beach where I could park.

After setting up my grid I began to search and only 20 minutes into the search I got a good signal and I looked into the sand scoop to see his titanium wedding band…

Lost Silver Ring at Jericho Beach…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call the other night from a young lady about a lost silver ring that was in the shape of a pyramid. She told me she was at Jericho Beach at 1 am and dove off the swim dock and realized right away that her ring came off. This ring was special as it was given to her by her boyfriend and as you could imagine it was super sentimental.

The young lady went back to the beach the next morning at low tide to look for the ring but couldn’t find it. As she was walking off the beach she saw my pamphlet for The Ring Finders and she gave me a call… I took all the information over the phone where she believed the ring was lost as she she took a late night dive off the dock and that was all the info I need.

I arrived at the beach as the tide was going out and started my search, after 45 minutes I could not find the ring and I checked my email and realized I was at the wrong beach… I raced over to the beach where I should have started and I begun my search.

After only 15 minutes I got a nice strong signal close to the chain that held the dock in place, there it was just an inch or son under the sand…

Lost Ring Lake Conroe, Texas (Recovered)

  • from Sugar Land (Texas, United States)

08/17/2014 Lost Ring Lake Conroe, Texas (Recovered)

I was contacted by Katie on Saturday regarding her husband’s Lost Wedding Ring in Lake Conroe. Katie said she located me on The Ring Finders directory and wanted to know if I could assist her in recovering her husband’s wedding ring. Katie said the ring was in about 4 foot of water off the dock behind their residence on Lake Conroe.

An excerpt from our communications on Saturday.

Hi john…its Katie Harris. I spoke to you regarding my husband’s ring that I lost off of our boat dock. So mad at myself. He had his original ring stolen, and we just replaced it a week ago…and now I lost it!!

I asked Katie some details about the location and she was able to provide very descriptive information on the search location. (water depth, bottom conditions –mud, sand or sludge) and whether there was public access to the area to determine the urgency in our recovery efforts.

Katie had been cleaning out her pool skimmer baskets and tossing the leaves and pine needles into the lake. Katie had put on her husband’s wedding ring earlier as a reminder to take it to the jewelry store.

I asked Katie to send me some photographs of the dock and the area she believed the ring had been dropped in the water.

Katie sent me the following photographs of the dock and search area.

I actually measured…it dropped about 48 inches out at the angle i drew from boat dock-Katie

I made arrangement with Katie to be at her residence the following morning. The plan was to meet with her son Tyler at the residence Sunday morning. I arrived around 10am Sunday morning and meet with Tyler who walked me through the events that led to ring being lost.

I was thinking this was going to be a very fast recovery as the perceived area to be searched was very small. I set out with the At Gold and found the bottom to be relatively clean of signals.  I worked the search area several times with negative results. I pushed the search area out a little further thinking the ring flew a little farther than Katie might have thought. I hit a couple of promising targets, but they were not the missing ring.

I closed in tighter on the search area, and started working under the dock were Katie had been standing and tossing the leaves. Bingo, I hit the ring right next to the edge of the dock, it was  on one of the piers footings.

I was glad to find the ring, I knew it meant a lot to Katie and her husband.

Metal Detecting for a Lost Wedding Band at Wreck Beach, Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call the other day asking if I could help find a lost gold wedding band then I heard the words Wreck Beach…This is a famous nude beach and that’s OK but the tough thing about this beach is the hike up & down…I think it close to 490 steps from top to bottom…I’m waiting for knee surgery so this is the hardest beach for me to access…But that won’t stop me from helping someone!

I set a time to meet Juan at 5am to drive to the beach, when we got there the tide was going out and Juan showed me the area where he thought  the ring came off. I was excited to start the search and find his ring because I knew how important it was to him and the fact that he lost the ring on his 3rd anniversary…

I started my grid search and close to 4 hours later no ring…? Most times when I do a grid search and don’t find what I’m looking for it’s only because I’m not searching the right area.

I had to pack it up for the day because the tide was coming in and my knee was getting sore! I hate that feeling when you don’t find what you’re looking for to see the look of the face of the people you’re trying to help.  I would come back in a couple of days and do another search in a different area as  I knew his ring was out there some where… I know if I don’t find what I’m looking for it’s only because it’s not where the person thinks it should be.

I came back 2 days later and continued my grid search,  after 1 hour as the tide was going out I got a sweet signal and dug down about 8 inches and saw the beautiful white gold wedding band in my sand scoop!

It’s the greatest feeling when you see the ring in the scoop because you know how much happiness it will bring that person.

Meta Detecting Coquitlam River for a Lost Diamond Ring

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Yesterday I received a call from a young lady who lost her diamond engagement ring in the Coquitlam River. I listen to her story and we decided to meet the next morning to search for her lost ring.

Unfortunately the young lady wasn’t able to meet and show me the area because she had to work…her husband was there to show me where the ring was lost.

I invited my nephew to come and assist me on the search and he was excited to help…You will see him finding rings soon cause he is very good with his detector.

It wasn’t a very big River and it didn’t look like the current was going that fast but Joshua stepped in and lost his footing and went into the water. He was ok but his phone got wet…We moved up stream a bit and entered where the water was slower moving.

I knew by looking that it was going to be a tough search, I asked Joshua to show me the area and it happened to be where the current was moving the fastest and the rocks where all shapes and sizes.

I took 3 detectors with me and the one I went with was the Garrett AT Gold with the 4 inch coil the size of a hockey puck. Thankful I just purchase this detector a few days ago and it would be the hero as the small loop was the only chance we had to find the ring.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I couldn’t believe it myself when I got a good solid signal then bent down and could see the glint of the diamond…The ring was wedged between two rocks and near the top of the water line. What a surprise!

It only took 15 minutes and this search could have taken many, many hours!

Joshua was extremely excited to see the ring as was his wife! I’ve  got the greatest job in the world!
