14K Gold Stud Earring Recovered in Woodstock Il!

  • from Rockford (Illinois, United States)

On Thursday 23rd I received a call from Jun. He asked me if I could possibly located a 14k gold stud earring that he had lost 3 days ago in his front yard.Β  I told him that earrings can be very difficult to detect because there isn’t very much metal to detect, but I told him that I would be willing to give it a shot. My hopes went way up when he told me that he knew when and how it came out! Turns out he was near a fruit tree and had 2 bees buzzing near his ear and as he ran away he swatted at the bees he hit his ear and knocked out his earring! Luckily when I arrived I asked him if it was from a set and if he had a matching earring to it. He said that he did! So I scanned the sister stud (35) and the sister keeper (32). Plus he knew almost exactly where he was when it all happened! So I did a small slow grid search of the area. Within a few minutes I got a slight whisper of a 35 on my DΔ’US II metal detector! So I searched the grass with my pinpointer and finally found the big 14k gold stud!! Now to find the keeper!! It didn’t take long to search around the area where the earring was to hear a whisper of a 32! In short order we had the missing keeper piece too!!

My First successful earring recovery!!!

Success!!

Another smile for the book!!!

Lost Pendants West Orange, NJ… Found!!!

πŸ™ Half the Mission Accomplished. – Shout out to @njringfinder for the lead on this one.
Not every recovery ends with everything being found, and that’s just the reality of this metal detecting.
Tom reached out after losing two gold pendants while golfing at Francis A. Byrne Golf Course. He was wearing a chain with a circular religious pendant and his great-grandfather’s gold cross when, sometime during the first four holes, the clasp came undone.
Thankfully, the chain stayed around his neck. Unfortunately, both pendants were gone.
That’s when Greenwood Detecting got the call. πŸ“ž
Our first trip focused on the first four holes where Tom believed the pendants had fallen. After a thorough search, we came up empty.
On the second trip, we decided to focus on the fourth hole. That’s where Tom first noticed the chain hanging around his neck. We concentrated on the area where he had taken his second shot, and this time we got a great signal. 🎯
A few minutes later, we recovered the circular religious pendant! βœ¨πŸ™
We were convinced the gold cross had to be nearby.
We searched the surrounding area over and over, then returned two more times to expand the search. We covered every area that made sense, but despite our best efforts, Tom’s great-grandfather’s cross never turned up.
Recoveries like this are bittersweet. We’re incredibly thankful we were able to return one meaningful piece of jewelry, but we never like leaving a search with unfinished business.
So here’s where you can help. πŸ‘‡
If you were golfing at Francis A. Byrne Golf Course and happened to find a gold cross pendant, please reach out. Even if you find it weeks, months, or years from now, I’d love to hear from you. We know exactly who it belongs to, and would love nothing more than to reunite Tom with this special family heirloom. ❀️
Treasure hunting is full of incredible wins, but it also keeps us humble. Sometimes you find everything. Sometimes you only find part of the story. Either way, we’ll always give it everything we’ve got.

Lost Wedding Ring Lake Mohawk, NJ… Found!!!

  • from Millburn (New Jersey, United States)
Another day, another treasure returned to its owner. ❀️
We recently received a call from Erin, who had lost one of her gold rings during a family gathering in Clark, NJ.
She had spent the day enjoying time with family, playing on the bocce
ball court, hanging with the kids, and making memories. At one point during the day, she bent down to pick up a toy the child she was carrying had dropped. Somewhere in the mix, her ring fell off.
She searched everywhere she could think of, but despite everyone’s best efforts, the ring had seemingly vanished.
Since we couldn’t make it out that same day, we jumped on a video call and walked through the property together. πŸ“± Erin showed us the areas she had been throughout the day and helped narrow down the most likely search location.
When we arrived, it was time to get to work. πŸ”Ž
After about 30 minutes, we got the signal we were hoping for. Gold! βœ¨πŸ’
Even better, Erin’s memory of where everything happened was right on the money. The ring was exactly where she thought it would be.
Recoveries like this are why we love what we do. Every search is a new adventure, every signal is a little mystery, and every successful recovery feels like finding buried treasure. πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈβœ¨ There is nothing better than handing a priceless keepsake back to its owner and seeing the smile that follows.
If you’ve lost a ring, jewelry, keys, or another valuable item, don’t lose hope. Sometimes your treasure is only one good signal away.

Lost Wedding Ring Noe Pond Club, Chatham NJ… Found!!!

πŸŒŠπŸ’ A Photo Finish Ring
Recovery at Noe Pond Club!
Some recoveries come right down to the wire, and this was definitely one of them.
We received a call from a woman who had lost her gold ring while spending the day with her infant son at Noe Pond Club in Chatham, NJ.
While enjoying the water, she felt the ring start to slide off her finger. She was able to catch it, adjust it, and put it back on, thinking the problem was solved.
Unfortunately, sometime later, the ring slipped off for good and disappeared into the sandy bottom of the pond.
That’s when Greenwood Detecting got the call. πŸ“ž
About 30 minutes later, we were on site, and she walked us through exactly where she had been in the water. The search area was surprisingly well defined, so we got right to work. πŸ”ŽπŸŒŠ
One thing became obvious pretty quickly… this part of the pond had ever seen a metal detector before! πŸ˜„
Before we ever found the ring, we had already recovered more than $2 in change from the sandy bottom. πŸͺ™πŸ’°
Then the clock started working against us.
The final horn sounded, signaling that the pond was closing for the day. We knew we were down to our last
few chances.
One scoop…
Nothing.
A second scoop…
βœ¨πŸ’ There it was.
That bright gold ring was sitting in the scoop, shining back at us.
Talk about a photo finish! πŸ“ΈπŸ
Recoveries like this remind us why we love what we do. Every search is an adventure, every signal builds the excitement, and sometimes the best recoveries happen just when it feels like time is running out.
If you’ve lost a ring, jewelry, keys, or another valuable item, don’t give up. Sometimes your treasure is just one scoop away.

Lost Wedding Ring Saucon Valley Country Club, PA… Found!!!

  • from Millburn (New Jersey, United States)
β›³πŸ’ Wedding Ring Recovered at Saucon Valley Country Club!
We were recently contacted by a golfer who lost his wedding ring during a round at Saucon Valley Country Club.
Before teeing off, he did what many of us would think is the safe thingβ€”he placed his wedding ring inside a Tupperware container and tucked it into his golf bag. After the round, he pulled the container out, but the lid unexpectedly popped off. At the time, he assumed the ring had simply fallen deeper into the golf bag.
Unfortunately, when he got home and searched the bag from top to bottom, the ring was nowhere to be found.
That’s when Greenwood Detecting got the call. πŸ“ž
We met him at the course and searched the two key locations: where he had originally placed the ring in the container and where he removed the container from his golf bag after the round.
After carefully working the area, we got the signal we were hoping for! 🎯 The ring was recovered about 5 feet outside the area where he thought it had fallen.
This recovery is a great reminder that our memories are rarely as precise as we think they are. Expanding the search area is often the difference between going home empty-handed and reuniting someone with something priceless.
Seeing another wedding ring safely back where it belongs never gets old. β€οΈπŸ’
If you’ve lost a ring, keys, jewelry, or another valuable item, don’t give up. Every recovery starts with a phone call.

One-Month-Old Wedding Ring Recovered in the Ocean – Jersey Shore Success

Recovery by Edward Trapper – NJ Ring Finder

Serving the Jersey Shore and All of New Jersey

Mark called me after losing his wedding ringβ€”just one month oldβ€”in the ocean along the Jersey Shore. He explained that he had been standing in roughly waist-deep water while tossing around a small hockey ball with family. At one point, he went to swat the ball underhand and felt the ring slip right off his hand and fly straight out in front of him.

As soon as it hit the water, they could no longer see it. With shifting sand and steady current, it disappeared quickly.

I told him I’d be there for the next low tide and we coordinated to meet at the beach. They had a photo of the location, so we were able to mark the exact spot where the ring came off. Based on the time of lossβ€”just after high tideβ€”I guessed that the ring might now be sitting in shallower water closer to the slope.

I began by thoroughly working the wet slope and shallow surf with no luck. Then I moved out to waist-deep water and still came up empty. This was puzzling because the location details were solid.

After finishing the deep area, I worked my way back up the slope one more time, just in case the current had pushed it higherβ€”but again, no luck.

By now it was getting dark, and the family had nearly given up hope. Just before calling it, I asked Mark if there was any chance they had drifted at all during the game. He mentioned they may have shifted slightly north.

I took just a couple of short paths in that direction and finally got a strong signal. Eight inches deep in the sand was Mark’s beautiful wedding ringβ€”right on the edge of the search zone.

His entire family was stunned. They had already accepted that it might be gone forever.

This recovery is a perfect reminder:

βœ… Get every detail possible

βœ… Trust your instincts

βœ… Never give up too soon

Sand dunes in the background

Received a call for a lost ring on the sand bar near Sleeping Bear sand dunes.Β  Could not get there right away but had owner take pictures and video of their location from the boat and also had them leave a item there which they decided on a coke can full of sand and placed on the bottom.Β  Me and my daughter took the jet ski over to the nearest launch and rode over to the area owner was at according to their videos.Β  We located the coke can and anchored right next to it.Β  Ring was found about 10ft from the can.Β  Quite happy how it worked out for the best.Β  Always good to try and mark the spot with something if not able to stay til the search.Β  Appreciate the call,Β  and always glad to help.

Lost White Gold Ring Underwater Found in Whitmore Lake Michigan

In The Shadows of The Seaweed…..

Cooling off was the plan for Cliff and his daughter Tara. Setting up their chairs, they ended up being neck deep in the water once they settled in. The cool water and gentle swells felt like a million bucks. A few short breaks on shore to visit with family had them back in the water quickly. Towards evening Tara noticed her ring missing. Recalling that she was on shore playing with the dogs and even jet skiing had her heating up with worry as to what happened to the ring. When I arrived, there were brief rain showers. I started to grid search just past where they were sitting and got tons of junk signals. Scanning thru a few tall wispy plants poking up, nails, screws and jagged metal was being detected and removed. As heavier rain and lightning rolled in, I went on shore to check the ground where Tara was. Still no ring signal. A break in the clouds had me back in the water working my way closer to shore. Again, more junk was dug up. As I usually recheck the ground after removing junk, I rechecked this spot and got a clear good metal tone thru the headphones. Scraping thru the sand with my small pin pointer revealed her ring quite deep I’ll say. Holding the ring up for Cliff to see he just about fell out of his lawn chair to get into the water. He quickly called Tara who was overtaken with relief that her ring was found. Let the cool down begin.

In The Shadows of The Seaweed is a first in a new series of posts for recoveries made in/underwater dedicated to my turtle Frankie whom I and my friends had the pleasure of watching her dive for food and chase targets in her tank for 8 months. Very inspiring creature whose personality will always drive me harder to find those elusive underwater lost items.

We will miss her. RIP Frankie!
