Heirloom 25th wedding anniversary band lost off Restaurant dock in Huntsville, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

This adventure is my 100th recovery for The Ring Finders directory! I am honoured to be entrusted to have help Laura to recover her beautiful heirloom ring from her late Nona.

Here’s Laura’s words;

I was up in Huntsville for the weekend and we had decided to head into town to grab some lunch near the water before we headed home for the day. We chose to sit on the outdoor patio that is over the water. When waiting for our food I began pulling at my rings and putting them back on my fingers (I always do out of nervous habit). Of course my inherited ring slipped off my finger and right through the gaps in the wood patio we were sitting on. When shining my flashlight through to gage if I was able to see the ring at all, all I saw was water underneath. I was told mistakes happen and things like this happen – and was also told there was no way at getting under the patio whatsoever. I was absolutely devastated and was convinced I’d lost it in this water forever.

The next day a friend of mine (my saviour literally) had the brilliant idea to post on Facebook just to see if anyone had suggestions – and this is when we met the amazing Alison. I got in touch with her and learned about the ring finders and the incredible things she had done for people in situations similar to mine. A few days later she made her way down to Hunstville with her hookah dive gear and metal detector and she found my ring!!!!! I am still in disbelief. I am forever grateful and so appreciative. Alison is really and truly an angel on earth!

What lovely worlds!

Here is the wonderful video of this sentimental ring recovery;

Thank you Laura for your very kind words and your generous donation! Also to your employer who will be matching the donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation! I LOVE MY HOBBY!

Lost communion cross and gold chain off a cottage country dock into Whitestone Lake, Dunchurch, Parry Sound, Muskoka’s, Ontario

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Stephen was up visited a close friend for a weekend of fun, fishing and tubing at Whitestone Lake, Dunchurch, Parry Sound District of The Muskoka Lakes, Ontario.

The guys came back from tubing, sat in some dock chairs to relax. Stephen had taken off his very special communion cross and Greek anchor chain given to him by his Grandparents and put it on the dock chair. He forgot about it, picked up his tee shirt and watched the cross and chain fall through the dock boards into the water below.

They tried to locate the cross and chain in the murky waters below but had no luck. Stephen called upon my services to help the next day.

I had a three hour drive, we set up the DIVE BLU3 Nemo hookah system which has a lithium battery and 10’ hose and with an underwater pin pointer we were all set!

After 35 minutes of clearing all the metal objects I finally recovered Stephen’s cross and chain!

Check out the underwater video and the surprise recovery to Stephen!

His sentimental cross and chain meant the world to him and he was grateful to revive it back with TheRingFinders help!

Thank you Stephen for your donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation!

Lost gold engagement band walking dog in Maple, Vaughan, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

John was walking his dog in a school yard park in Maple, Ontario yesterday. He stopped to brush his dog and noticed his new gold engagement 10k gold band from his Fiancé Christina went flying off.

He purchased a metal detector and had no luck finding his ring on his own.

After speaking with Shawn from Carry-all Canada Shawn suggested he contact Alison from the website TheRingFindersDotCom.

John reached out late this afternoon and I flew over on Hwy 407 to meet him within 45 minutes!

Proceeded to the area he felt he lost his ring and as I am a struck heavy grid searcher, I always start anywhere from 10’ to 30’ further back!

Sure enough and just under 1/2 a minute and…. BAM!!! A solid double tone on my new Nokta Makro “Legend” metal detector!!

Check out the video;

One very happy young man!! We immediately sent his Fiancé Christina a photo of him and his ring back on his finger where it belongs!

Thank you John for your very kind donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation!!

10k diamond filled white gold wedding band thrown after argument quickly recovered! Amaranth, Dufferin County ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Called out to Amaranth, Dufferin Country, Ontario this past Sunday for a lost engagement ring.

The engagement ring had was thrown in the heat of an argument.

Christian and Brittanie looked feverishly yo find both ring but only managed to find the wedding band.

They purchased a metal detector from a local retail store and had been searching for 3 to 4 days with no luck.

I started off in the playground equipment where the wedding band was from and continued on around the back and my first target was the diamond engagement ring. I pretended that the battery was not operating properly on my Pinpointer and managed to make the grand reveal that I had located the engagement ring in under two minutes.

Brittany was absolutely overwhelmed and her husband Christian was just amazed at how quickly the ring was located with my equipment!

Check out the reaction! Priceless!

Thank you so very much Christian and Brittany for your generous donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation in my pay it forward program!

It was my honour and pleasure to help you out and look forward to some metal detecting lessons and adventures!!

14k white gold diamond engagement ring lost in snow Brampton, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Dhillion and his lovely bride-to-be where pulled over on the side of the roadway. Unfortunately, there was a disagreement which happens in life. The engagement ring was thrown and lost in the area of a construction site under recent snow.

Dhillion searched for 2 hours very early this morning with no luck. He then came across the link to “The Ring Finders” global directory page and called me.

I dropped everything and met him within an hour!

Within 3 minutes my detector had a beautiful tone. I moved the snow away and saw the diamond filled rim of the ring… and here’s the surprise!

Dhillion and his Fiancé were so very happy to receive this beautiful symbol of love back in their hands!

This is one beautiful elegant engagement ring!!

I am grateful not only for the extra tip I was given but from the incredible donation coming into the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation! Dillion will receive a tax receipt for his very generous donation!

Set of keys lost in a heavy snowfall in Caledon, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Ontario recently had a heavy rain, high winds, followed up by a heavy snowfall.

I had a call from Tony in Caledon who lost a set of keys in the snow somewhere in his driveway.

Tony had fallen in a number of locations because there was ice below 12 inches of snow.

I grid searched the first location, then the second and onto the third with no luck. We circled back to the second location and I widened my grid area. Within a few minutes I had a multi tone hit on my detector, spotted a portion of the keys and proceeded to surprise Tony!

Check out the video of this recovery;

Tony was very happy to get his guys back!

Thank you very much for your donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation! My best fundraising year! Thank you!

iPhone 13 lost after massive snowstorm in Mississauga, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

Zaib was out with her Brother after a massive snow storm moved through the Ontario region recently. Mississauga was hit hard dropping 30-45cms in the region.

There was a little after shoveling horseplay going on and Zaib had her phone in the open sweatpants pocket. After return inside, she realized her iPhone 13 was missing!

They immediately went back outside to check around with no luck. 3’ to 6’ snowbanks it could be anywhere.

Zaib’s Mother luckily had taken video, which they reviewed and spotted her cell phone in the pocket but not after the horseplay!

Zaib rented a metal detector which turned out to be a pipe detection unit of some sort which they were unsuccessful.

After 2 days of searching they called me back to help out. After going over most of the area, I moved back to where Zaid fell into the snow and her Brother trying to lift her out. We then reviewed the video and 5 minutes later I heard “the tone”…. Then the set up surprise “I hit my shin” and “did you look under the gap over there?” as I winked to Zaib’s Sister!!

Here’s the video of this cell phone recovery;

Thank you Zaib for calling upon me after fellow RingFinder James could not attend but recommended me!! As well, thank you Zaib for your donation to The Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation! She will receive a tax receipt!

Young newlywed lost his wedding band cleaning snow off car Brampton, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

I received a text from a manager of a recreation complex that he was cleaning the snow off his car knocked his hand on something. Next thing he noticed his 2 month old cobalt wedding ring was missing!

I new right away that it was a colleague at my work place! I messaged him back if he was a COB employee 😂 after that exchanged he called me and we had a bit of a laugh over it!

I met him bright and early the next day. Unfortunately, the area still had snow and ice but the worse was that the area was rebar encased concrete parking pad/walking area. I had my work cut out for me. Gave it 4 1/2 hours, I lowered my sensitivity to 2 but only had my 15” coil with me. I called it quits and decided to go back the following day on my lunch hours.

Well, 4 minutes into my 2nd attempt with my small coil and decided to check the snow piles / iced areas that were still present. I had a solid 9/10!! As I kicked the snow away, out popped the iced up shinny cobalt wedding band!!! WHAHOOOO!!

Now to surprise Antony!!!

As I was heading back into the building to surprise Antony… he walked out to check on the status. I pretended that an emergency call came in for a street light pole down. Then I pulled out his beautiful shinny cobalt wedding band!! His reaction was priceless!! Antony was so grateful to receive his 2 month old wedding band back. He was dreading telling his telling his Wife!

Check out my YouTube video for this recovery;

Thank you Antony for your donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation as I don’t take the reward for finding the lost item! Instead, I have the clients pay-it-forward with a donation! He receives a tax receipt.

I will be riding a snowmobile in honour of his dear Friend Rachel who passed away from breast cancer far too young!

Lost platinum wedding band in snow in Toronto, ON

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

I received a phone call from David in downtown Toronto. His Wife Sonya was removing their 2 year old toddler from a stroller. She brushed off the stroller and thought she felt her platinum wedding band fly off into the snow.

After David and Sonya searched for an hour or so then David reached out to me to see if I could help. I advised there were two other metal detectorists registered with “The Ring Finders” directory in Toronto which were much closer than I. I provided some search tips and advised if they weren’t available I could pop down after work the following day as I had a visitor. My visitor was called into work and left immediately. I then called David back to make myself available if the other Ring Finders were not available as I know the misery it would cause and probably a sleepless night ahead for both of them. They took me up on my offer and I left immediately.

I was happy that the crazy Toronto QEW traffic was light and that I had no issues! Toronto traffic can be insane at the best of time non-stop bumper to bumper!

I arrived an hour later and proceeded to the backyard. I could see the backyard was entirely concrete under the snow fully knowing rebar and old metal bits would be and issue. Here I was thinking another ‘quickie’………NOT!!

After 10-15 minutes with the big coil and putting my pin pointer through a workout… I changed out my coil to the small 10” x 5” CoilTek Coil and turned down the sensitivity …. I then re-gridded the area and decided to go towards the pathway into the backyard and BOOM A SOLID 12 on the Equinox and tone was perfect! Even thought David’s platinum wedding band was the same it rang up a 15/16 on my machine!

Please check my link to the video, like and subscribe to my YouTube channel @Pink Power Ally Treasure Hunter / Detectorist

First I surprised David…. then David went along with me to ask Sonya “another question” bringing her back outside and of course she was happily surprised!

David and Sonya were so thankful for my help and I was grateful for their immediate generous donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation! I’m sure if they called one of the other two RingFinders this precious sentimental wedding band would have definitely been recovered either way!!

Thank you David & Sonya!
