Lost Rings Rain When It Pours – Emerald Isle,NC Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Katie was spending some rest & relaxation from school with some friends along the Emerald Isle beach.  There was a plastic bag they placed jewelry in before swimming.  A quick downpour of rain came in and as they scampered to gather their gear and run for cover, 5 of Katie’s rings fell into the sand.  Katie was very upset when she phoned her mother to explain what had happed.  Her mother contacted me and while Katie and her friends searched for the rings.  A few minutes had passed until I received word they were able to find 4 of the 5 rings.  The last missing ring was a sentimental gold ring.  After a few messages, I started my way to Emerald Isle.  Katie lead me to the area of the beach and I switched on my metal detector and went to work.  The first target was a small piece of ship copper and the second was Katie’s fifth and final ring.

Engagement Ring Pulled From Emerald Isle Beach Bag Found And Returned

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Lilyanna was with her fiancé, family and friends on Emerald Isle beach.  She had placed her engagement ring in the beach bag before swimming.  During the stay, a phone was placed in the same pocket and shortly afterwards, removed from the bag.  It was then Lilyanna’s ring was pulled out also without anyone knowing it escaped.  After not finding the ring in the bag, panic set in and a few in the group started posting on social media and making phone calls to Crystal Coast Ring Finders.  I arrived as soon as possible and had a member make a circle in the sand where they all believed the ring would be found.  After the circle was cleared, I began my search and was not getting any report of metal in the sand.  This also intensified the worry of the lost ring.  As I almost completed the circle, I received a good tone on my Minelab Equinox 800.  I searched the sand with my pinpointer and raised the lost ring from the beach sand.

Gold Wedding Band Lost From Emerald Isle Beach House Deck Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

David informed me he was on the raised deck putting on his sandals and noticed a sound like something dropped.  A very short time afterwards, he noticed his wedding band of 5 years was missing.  David and others searched sand below the deck but were unsuccessful in their attempt.  Andy who was in the group started an online search for a nearby metal detector to rent and found The Ring Finders.  Andy called me and I headed their way.  I arrived within an hour of the call and after gathering information and explaining my Minelab CTX-3030, I headed down the sandy area next to the home.  The ground was littered with various signals and even though I had my sensitivity turned way down, I was getting numerous target signals.  I guessed the approximate area the ring would have landed and turned on my Garrett Pro-Pointer AT for a more precise search of each item.  The very first item I pulled up from sand was David’s sparkling gold wedding ring

EMERALD ISLE, NC     —–   COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN

Kristina and Drew were spending a beautiful day on the Emerald Isle beach.  Before finding a place to setup for the day in the sun, Kristina placed her engagement ring in a zip up blanket.  She became alerted when she had notice that Drew had opened the blanket and placed it on the beach.  Apparently, he didn’t know about the hidden ring.  Kristina called me and I informed her I could be there in less than 40 minutes.  Upon arrival, I searched over the blanket and received a very strong signal below the blanket.  I even stated “there is your ring”.  I moved the beach blanket and nothing  produced a signal from my Garrett Pro-Pointer AT pinpointer.  It was then, I looked up and noticed the metal zipper under the blanket.  I reset and started to scan the area with my Minelab CTX-3030.  I then locked onto a 2nd strong signal and this time, the Garrett sounded off with Kristina’s ring!  Now her engagement ring can attend next year’s wedding!

Late Father’s Ring Lost In Ocean Found One Month Later – Emerald Isle, NC

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Megan was visiting the Crystal Coast from New Hampshire.  She was swimming with her fiancé along Bogue Inlet Pier in “crazy waves”.  During this time, Megan’s late father’s ring fell off of her hand into the waist deep water.  She posted a plea on Facebook with doubts of ever seeing the last thing her father gave her before his passing.  The post caused the alert flag to be raised, so to speak as people recommended Crystal Coast Ring Finders and The Ring Finders.  I also was notified from friends of the recent lost stainless band.  After multiple attempts during the first week, I was unable to locate her father’s ring.  I then posted on local metal detecting Facebook groups with the story behind Megan’s ring and that she has plans for a September wedding and wanted to wear her Father’s ring during the ceremony.  A stainless ring does not hold much monetary value but to Megan, of course, it was priceless.

Fast forward almost one exact month later… the guy I’ve been metal detecting the beaches with, Justin, was taking advantage of the negative tides and somewhat low tide heights to search along Bogue Inlet Pier with his Minelab Equinox.  He knew very well about Megan’s lost ring and has helped me search for it in the past.  Fortunately for everyone, he was able to swing his search coil over her ring still in deeper waters and pull it to the surface.  He called me as soon as possible.  I called Megan shortly after verifying it was indeed her ring and she thought I was just going to delete the posts and give up the search.  She misunderstood when I said there was no reason to keep the lost rings postings up…   …because her father’s ring has been found and she will be able to once again wear it on her very special day!

Jill was spending the day with her daughter at Emerald Isle’s Western Regional Beach Access.  Before leaving their beach location near the lifeguard stand, she noticed this special ring had gone missing.  It wasn’t until the next day, after talking the the police department, that she was informed there are services in the area who specialize with finding lost items.  Jill called me and I informed her that I would be there as soon as possible.  It was my concern, another detectorist may have already found the gold ring.  Upon arrival the search area was surprisingly empty of visitors and I started my search of the 15 x 15 yard area.  Jill even placed an X in the sand where she suspected the ring may lay buried from the day before…  On my 3rd pass, I received a strong signal on my Minelab CTX-3030.  One scoop and the ring was visible.  The location was less than 8″ from the center of Jill’s X mark.  Jill declined my offer to include her into The Ring Finder’s Book of Smiles

Bogue Inlet Pier – Emerald Isle, NC

Lauren visited Bogue Inlet Pier on September 7th with her son as was wading in the surf when a larger wave knocked her over.  She told me her hands went into the sand and she felt her chocolate diamond ring slide off of her finger.  She was very upset but noticed a man out with his detector and went to him for help.  Bogue Inlet Pier (BIP) gets a lot of beach traffic and also many detectorist come there to search for “treasures”.   After being unable to find her ring, the gentleman suggested she contact Crystal Coast Ring Finders.  I made plans to hunt the very next low tide early in the morning and only a few hours after the loss of the ring.  The surf was still very strong and I too was unsuccessful.  Lauren was very upset when I talked with her and I felt terrible I could not make the recovery that morning.  I live near BIP and each time I went there to hunt the beach, I made it a point to search the area of Lauren’s lost ring.  Recently, we had some sand movement that allowed the replenished beach sand to move.  This created a low spot near the water’s edge.  To my surprise, after so many days lost and I’m sure, many other metal detectors hunting the same area, her ring was rescued on the evening of October 7th.  It was about 50 yards further West on the beach.  I had not met Lauren yet and messaged her to tell her I needed her to fill out my standard search contract.  We agreed to meet at her father’s business.  After we met and she completed the search contract without knowing I had her lost ring,.. I gave her one of my business cards.  When she turned the card over, her lost ring was taped to the back of the card.  She burst into tears.  I was very happy that something very good happened to Lauren this year as she explained it hadn’t been going well.

Sentimental Ring Accidentally Lost On Emerald Isle’s Bogue Inlet Pier Beach, Found

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Miranda was spending the day enjoying the North Carolina sun and removed her ring before going for a dip into the Atlantic Ocean. It wasn’t until after they had left she realized the ring was lost. When she returned to search, someone told her there was a detectorist hunting the same area she had set up earlier. After an online search she messaged me and asked if I was the one on the beach earlier that day. Neither I or some my nearby friends who detect had hunted that area. I then proceeded to Bogue Inlet Pier to conduct a night hunt. Because of a misunderstanding of location the hunt took me almost 3 hours before I found the ring! It was a huge relief for the both of us as it was very hot even at 2:00 am and I was hunting the soft dry sand. I returned the ring to her later that afternoon!

West Virginia Woman’s Wedding Ring Set Lost At Emerald Isle, NC Found

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Rhonda and her friends were having a Girls Getaway week at Emerald Isle, NC.  The young women were soaking their toes along the coastline and moving their chairs back with the incoming tides.  Trying to be safe, the rings were placed in a zipper pouch before heading into the water.  It wasn’t long after that the pouch had a hole in the bottom and the rings slipped away into the surf.  Ashlee, a friend in the group, found my metal detecting service and gave me a call.  After I heard the description, and knew the tide was now receding, I decided to give it a try.  Upon arrival, the beach had a steep slope leading down into some powerful waves.  I did my best to cover the area and was tossed off balance more than once.  After not finding the rings, I told the party I will return about 1 hour before low tide and try again.  Trying once again at this time period was very beneficial.  With some directional help from the girls, I walked straight down towards the waterline and found both rings in the wet sand and within 5 minutes of each other!  I know more than one of them thought the rings were gone forever!

This job has a very unique way of turning frowns upside down!  A true memory all girls will now have to share in a joyful way!

Lost Gold Wedding Band Found Along Emerald Isle Beach

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Joe was spending a relaxing day at the beach and decided to go for a swim. Regularly, Joe removes his wedding ring and necklace and then places the ring on the necklace. His wife agreed to hold both. After placing the necklace over her head she noticed the ring was missing. The ring had buried itself next to their Sun umbrella and after we remove the metal objects in the area, I found Jose ring before he could put the umbrella down.
