Lost Gold & Diamonds Bvlgari Wedding Band at Royal Hawaiian Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find began yesterday evening as I was heading home from Ko Olina.  I got a call from Kenny on vacation from San Francisco and was translating for Danny & Sunny who were on their honeymoon from Paju, South Korea.  Danny while tranferring his ring for safe keeping to a beach pouch his Gold & Diamonds Bvlgari Wedding Band fell into the water and disappeared at Royal Hawaiian Beach in Waikiki.  Traffic was horrible and I couldn’t get there before sunset.  It was actually dark when I arrived.  Then I found out the ring was actually in the water aways not on the shoreline.  Tide was up and the shore was getting pounded.  I found a great target on the Manticore but I couldn’t pull it out from between two chunks of coral.  I decided and had Kenny translate to Danny & Sunny that I would return Saturday afternoon low tide for better conditions.  When I arrived all three were already waiting on the beach.  A fellow detectorist was also there out in the deeper water and he turned out to be friend who would hunt later if I was unsuccessful.  After a few grid lines I found the target from the night before in between the coral chunks.  This time I was able to approach from a different angle and after probably 6 or 7 scoops I had the target in the scoop with so many coral rubble pieces.  I started carefully removing the coral and there in the glistening sun Danny’s awesome ring appeared.  I yelled towards where they were sitting on the beach, “Got It!”  Danny and Sunny ran down to the water’s edge and I let Danny remove his ring from the scoop.  He was over joyed and started crying.  All the nearby tourists started clapping and saying congratulations.  It was quite the seen.  Thank God Kenny was there to help translate all the necessary info for a successfull hunt.  Aloha to Danny & Sunny!  A special Aloha to Kenny who hung around to make sure these newlyweds had a happy ending.

I received a call from a guy who told me his wife was playing volleyball and lost her 2 gold & diamond charms that were from her Grandmother. He told me he would not be able to meet me at the location for a few hours due to work. I told him I would go search the area and recover the charms if possible and return them when he got off work.  He arrived after work and asked how the search was coming, he was ecstatic when I handed him his wife’s lost charms.

Sterling Silver Ring With Pink Sapphire, Lost In The Norway, Maine Snow, Found With A Metal Detector

On Thursday, December 5th, 2024,  I was returning home from Portland, Maine, when I heard my phone ring. Once home, I had the following message on my Facebook Messenger and a voicemail, on my phone,

“Hello! I just left you a voicemail, my name is Sarah, I’m working at Club Rowe in South Paris. I was outside at the Guy E. Rowe School by the pavilion when my ring fell off my hand into the snow. The kids here and I have been working hard to find it, but no luck. If you can get back to me to talk further it would be deeply appreciated! Thank you so much”.

I immediately called Sarah back and told her I could absolutely come up and help search for her ring. Sarah told me that it was a Sterling Silver Ring, with a Pink Sapphire stone. Sarah also told me she knew the area, she had lost their ring in. She was standing just outside a gazebo, when the snow started sliding off of the roof. Sarah jumped from just outside the gazebo, over the bank of fallen snow and landed, under the roof, of the gazebo. As she was jumping, over the snow bank, she felt the ring come off. Unfortunately, she wasn’t sure which way the ring had gone. I told her no problem, I could search the areas, in front of where she jumped, in the back of her and to the sides. I couldn’t imagine the search area would be any larger than a 25’ X 25’ area. I told Sarah I would leave shortly, as soon as I could get all my gear loaded. It was now approximately 12:00 noon.

Once I got on the road, I called Sarah and told her my ETA was approximately 1:25pm, depending on traffic and weather issues. Sarah told me it had started to snow again, in Norway and they had already received approximately 3-4 inches of snow, so far. As I was driving, I was only encountering light rain and drizzle, until I was in the Poland and Oxford, Maine area, when I started encountering snow. Wasn’t snowing hard and should cause no issues in my search.

Once I arrived, Sarah immediately came out of the schools daycare and after a few pleasantries, she walked me over the area she had lost her Sterling Silver Ring in. As I surveyed the area, I thought to myself that this should be fairly quick. Sarah gave me another Sterling Silver Ring, to setup and test the detector with. No issues and Sarah was able to see how the detector would sound, when my coil went over the ring. I told Sarah she didn’t need to stay outside with me, while I searched, since she was working with the children, in the Snow Day daycare.  Once Sarah went in, I decided to search the area to her left and to the front, of where she was standing m when she jumped. This would be the same direction her body was going, when she felt the ring come off. After 5-6 minutes of searching and a few targets investigated, I hadn’t found the ring. I then decided to search the area, behind and to the right, of where she was standing, prior to jumping, over the snowbank. Approximately 2-3 minutes of searching this area, my metal detector started screaming at me. I just knew this had to be the Sterling Ring. The VDI number on my Minelab Manticore’s screen was reading 78 and this was definitely, in the Sterling Silver range. I got my pinpointer out and plunged it into the snow. Once I located the target, I started pushing the snow away, with my pinpointer. I then saw the ring and pink stone. I had found Sarah’s ring.

A few minutes later, Sarah came outside with the children and I called her over. Pretending to not know exactly where she had been standing, when the ring came off, I started to ask her a question, about where she was standing. As she got closer, I asked her if she recognized the ring, on my detector. Sarah was extremely surprised and happy to see up her ring, sitting on my metal detector. I received a call from Carolyn telling me she had lost her phone in the sand at the beach. It was already dark, and searching for it was tough for her. She was there with some friends, and in their visit she became detached from the phone unknowingly, so she wasn’t exactly sure where it was lost but had a general idea. I let her know I would be coming soon to help her.

When I got there we found each other quickly. We discussed what happened, and also where the loss probably occurred. I turned on my machine, swung a couple of times, got a good signal, and within 30 seconds, I was able to hand Carolyn back her phone. She was very happy, and her friends celebrated with her.

Steph contacted me regarding the loss of her engagement ring. She was at the beach, and was hit by a wave when her ring came off in the water. Grace contacted me after having lost her phone the night before in the sand at the beach. My hopes weren’t high because I know the beach is machine cleaned often, but she said it was still showing it was there on her app. We arranged to meet for the search, and I was on my way.

When I got there Grace met me, and took me out to the area where she had been the night before, and where the phone was signaling from. I turned my machine on, and it took all of 30 seconds to find her phone under about 3 inches of sand. She was happy to have it back, and this made her vacation from Indiana complete; so glad to help.

Little Egg Harbor NJ, Heirloom Ring lost in Lagoon, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

Kyle initially contacted another local ring finder about his wife’s rings, which had been dropped into a lagoon a day or two earlier. Since he wasn’t in the area, the call was referred to me. After speaking with Kyle, he explained that his wife had taken off her rings while in the water, right by the ladder, and as she was handing them up, they slipped out of her hand and sank into the lagoon.

Once I learned the location, I knew this recovery would be particularly challenging. The mud in that area of New Jersey is black, soft, and essentially bottomless. It’s critical to take proper precautions, as working in those conditions can be dangerous.

When I arrived, I got straight to work, carefully scanning the area with my metal detector to identify promising signals before digging into the thick, black, pudding-like mud. After about 30 minutes of searching, I successfully recovered one of the rings. I continued looking for another hour but couldn’t find the others.

Fortunately, the ring I found was the family heirloom—the one they were most eager to get back. The black mud can be incredibly tricky, as items tend to sink quickly, and I suspect that’s what happened to the remaining rings. Nonetheless, they were relieved to have recovered the most sentimental piece.

Yardwork & Christmas Lights Equals Lost Ring in Cinnaminson NJ. Found by Dave Milsted

Sara called me, asking for help to find her husband’s gold wedding ring. She found me on the Ring Finder’s website. He had spent the entire day working in the yard—cleaning out the gutters, raking leaves, and putting up Christmas lights. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t locate the ring. With only about an hour of daylight left, I headed over to assist.

When I arrived, Devon was still searching for the ring. There was a massive pile of leaves at the curb, scheduled for pickup that week, so I began my search there. Unfortunately, I had no luck.

Next, we moved to the flower beds under the gutter. I received a strong signal under a small bush. Despite not seeing the ring on the ground, the signal was promising. Using my pinpointer, I discovered the signal was coming from within the bush.

It turned out that when the ring slipped off Devon’s hand, it landed in the bush and got hooked on one of the branches. The ring, a beautiful yellow-gold piece, held significant sentimental value as it belonged to Devon’s great-grandfather.

Evan tried several times to find the rings but, unfortunately, there was no luck so I started to accept the fate and that we have lost them forever.
All of a sudden, Evan reached me out again saying that after making some calls, there was a slight chance to have found the rings so I could not believe it.
It turned out that someone, the day after rings were lost, turned them into Canmore Municipal Enforcement office. Evan connected me with them.  After a couple of verifications, we could confirm that, indeed, there were the rings we lost.
I was thrilled after hearing such news, but I decided not to tell my wife because I wanted to surprise her. She was so sad and so disappointed when she lost them that I knew she would be so excited when she found out.
I contacted a company to pick up the rings and bring them back to Spain and, after submitting a lot of documents to clear the items in customs, rings finally arrived.
When my wife came back from work that day I gave them the rings and, when she realized, her face changed in a blink of an eye. She was so happy and so excited that I was even moved. She felt somehow “guilty” for losing them and having the opportunity to recover the rings back I think it was a relief for her.
A beautiful end to a outstanding trip!
