I received a frantic call from a young woman in town on her bachelorette party who just lost her engagement ring.  I happend to be out on another recovery and was able to meet her down on the beach where she lost it.  It was dark and she was sobbing but they pointed me in the right direction and after a few minutes I was able to find both her lost rings.  She was so thankful.

Got a call yesterday about a lost Gold wedding band ring that was lost in the backyard of a place they were staying at. I went out and met the gentleman who lost the ring and he walked me through what he was doing when he thought he lost his ring. He even tried to locate it himself with a couple metal detectors he borrowed with no luck and that’s when they called me. I began my search and found the ring in about 30 minutes of searching. I was glad to help him and he was very happy to have it back as it was passed down from his father.

Lost and found diamond engagement and wedding rings at Buffler’s beach Ontario

Received a text bright and early this morning about a young lady having lost both her rings yesterday. Oli and his wife Selam were at Buffler’s beach yesterday, enjoying a beautiful day until disaster struck. While playing volleyball in the water, Selam felt both her diamond engagement ring and wedding band fly off her finger, when hitting the ball while being about knee deep in the water. This happened at noon. They frantically searched till 7PM with no luck. After a few of my usual questions, I headed to the beach and met with them. With Selam standing where she thought the rings came off, I started gridding the area and within 40 minutes or so, was able to locate both rings for her. The rings were actually about 25 feet away due to the swinging motion while hitting the ball and only about 1 foot apart laying in the sand. She was so genuinely happy and very emotional and, after some tears, asked for a hug which I gladly shared with her. Lovely young couple and so happy I was able to reunite them with their lost rings. Life is great!!!

It was a cold snowy day in February 2022 when I was asked to search for a Lost Ring following some landscaping and pruning. The 2 Hour Dr. was snowy and it was cold outside when I arrived, but the snow had stopped. After meeting this nice couple and hearing their story, I first search briefly where he had been doing some pruning and piling the trimmings. Next, I asked to see where he had placed all of the prunings which happened to be in a large rubbish can in a shed. I slowly pulled out the material and scanned it first visually and was able to find the ring amongst the trimmings , needless to say all were happy and a very nice reward was received for the hunt. I was very pleased to be able to help reunite this Ring and its story with the owners.

Lost – Men’s Gold Cartier wedding band – Daytona Beach, FL – FOUND!!!

  • from Ponce Inlet (Florida, United States)

Mother’s Day was a perfect day and my wife, Myrna, and I topped it off with a bike ride to our community pool.  When we returned, I was putting away the bikes when I got the call from Yanaia.  She said that they were at the beach and lost a ring.  I could sense the distress in the tone of her voice.  I hopped into the car and headed her way.

When I arrived, the beach was packed, and Yan was waving me down.  I found out that her husband, Eddy, was the one who lost the ring…a heavy gold Cartier wedding band.  I thought to myself, “this should be easy!”

Eddy was standing in the middle of a tidal pool that was roughly 20ft in diameter.  He was holding a metal stick to mark where he thought he lost the ring, and his expression was very worried.

I fired up the Manticore and began the search.  I swepted over the middle spot of the tidal pool where it was obvious, they had been digging.  Nothing.  I expanded the search in a spiral outward until I had covered the entire tidal pool.  Nothing but a penny, a trash item, and a very small screw.

I began to grid off around the water and toward the beach, going into the surf somewhat.  I stopped and prayed.  This search should not be this difficult!  As I expanded toward the driving lanes, I got a great hit and suspected success.  I heard the tell-tale jangle in the scoop and saw gold!

As I handed the ring to Eddy, his expression changed in an instant from desperation to exuberance.  I was the recipient of hugs from Yanaia and Ariana.  Cheers from Jose, Joshua, and people all around!  The item that was lost was found.

Lost – Men’s Gold Wedding Ring – DeLand Florida – FOUND!!

  • from Ponce Inlet (Florida, United States)

On Tuesday, April 16th I got text from Samantha.  She said that her husband Ian, had lost his men’s gold wedding band a few months ago.  She continued, that he had been working in the yard and it flew off his finger while he was weeding.

Although it took a little over a week before we had a time when we all could meet, I knew it would still be there.  Rings you lose in your back yard stay there, as a rule.

I arrived and Ian and Samantha led me to the area where the ring had been lost.  I fired up the Minelab Manticore and began a cursive sweep of the area.  I got a great hit right where they said the ring had been lost.  I ignored that hit and covered the rest of the area just to see if there were others.  There were not.

I fired up my pinpointer and put it on the spot the detector had indicated.  As I pushed the pinpointer under a clump of grass, I saw the gold ring reveal itself.  My prayer was answered.    I held the ring up and Ian said, “You found it!”

Happy family!  The ring that had been lost for a few months was back on the hand of the owner!

I received a call from Derek about the possibilities of recovering his ring from a very wide lagoon. He explained exactly what had happened, and he knew right when the ring came off his finger. Water recoveries are extremely challenging to begin with, but add in the fact he and his buddies were racing to the other side and back, and this one becomes almost impossible. Well, as the conversation continues, I discover Derek had quite a bit of pertinent information which is needed to even consider this recovery. I asked him to supply me with everything he had, which included many pictures, and probably the deciding factor to move forward with this recovery,  was the video of them racing to the other side. That was the spot where the ring had come off. I asked him to give me a few days to review everything, which he agreed to, as the ring was not going anywhere . After looking at all the information given I called Derek and explained this would be extremely complicated, but as long as he was positive the ring came off right when he stopped swimming , we should definitely give it a try. We cleared it with the homeowner, and set up the date to do the recovery. Once there a bouy was dropped just past precise location, and a guide line was placed on the bottom and secured back at the dock. With near zero visibility, on the 3rd pass back, we got a promising hit just before the bouy. After fanning the target a bit, you could just make out the ring.  This all happened in roughly 55 min from start to finish.Had there not been the pictures and video his ring would still be on the bottom of the bay/lagoon. Huge shout out to Buzz, couldn’t have done this one without you.

Lost wedding band found after 30 years in Lake of the Ozarks
Rose contacted me about looking for her deceased husbands wedding band. It had slipped off his finger while he was swimming by their private dock at their summer home on Lake of the Ozarks. The loss occurred 30 years ago. They had wanted to have someone search for the ring but could think of no one until Rose heard about The Ringfinders.
We came up with a plan to get permission from the current owner of the property, then meet there to search for the ring. I was expecting mud and tree debris on the bottom but there was none. The water clarity and temperature was nice.
I want to commend Rose for thinking to bring pictures of what the search area looked like 30 years ago before the new boat dock was built. With planning and good diving conditions, I found the ring within 30 minutes!
Upon seeing the overwhelming emotion expressed by Rose at that point, I was extremely grateful that I was able to finally connect her with the ring that meant so much to her.

Lost engagement ring in the ocean, Ship Bottom NJ, LBI, recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder

Jersey shore ring finder ring finder south jersey    Kate reached out to me wanting to know if it was possible to locate her engagement that slipped off her finger during the day somewhere at the beach. It was late in the evening, and after determining that it was close to high tide when it most likely came off, it would be best to wait until the early morning low tide. We arranged to meet early the next morning at the dune walkover. As we were heading to the location I had asked her to mark in google maps we talked about the main things she could remember leading up the the ring disappearing. Once we got to the spot, she showed me some pictures she had, before and after the ring went missing. Something didn’t look just right, but I figured I would check the area that was marked. After coming up empty handed I asked her to see the pics again, it was then I knew that was not quit the right location. I adjusted the location about 40′ to the north, and things looked just right, including the piles of seaweed that had pushed high up on the hill the prior day when the pics were taken. Kate confirmed after looking at the pics that this was absolutely the right location. Combined with the rough surf, was the fact that she was boogie boarding, and that is never a good thing when doing a recovery. Kate did remember one wave that knocked her down, where she lost the board, and that was luckily close to the beach in waist deep water. I decided to hit that area real quick, and while Kate was in about knee deep water looking, I got a signal that made my eyes open wide. With the waves crashing right where I was, I took extra time to zero in on the exact spot, and hoped to grab it on the first scoop. Sure enough I had it on the first try, BINGO, it was her absolutely stunning ring!!!!! Kate had no idea what had just taken place just a few feet behind her, as I scooted up the hill , past the waves to get a better look and clean it off. At that moment I decided to make a video to capture her response, which you will see I’m not very good at. (Will be posted soon) Her reaction was something that makes this profession SO SO rewarding that no words could ever explain.

Lost gold and diamond ring found – Marco Island

  • from Marco Island (Florida, United States)

While spending the day with his family in Marco Island and playing in the waves with his son, Thomas realized his gold band was no longer on his finger.  After spending the afternoon looking with a metal detector without any luck, his wife took to the internet and posted the loss.  A few responses came back “you gotta call Mark!”  Well his wife found Mark, and I was down there with an hour searching.  Well so were several other metal detectors too that had seen the post.  The rest is now history, found the ring in the abyss, and now their story continues.  Remember it’s only list until you call…God does hear and answers prayers! 🙏🏻🎉
