1953 Wedding Ring LOST

  • from Carlsbad (California, United States)

An evening Lost Ring Call. Laura calls and says, My Dad lost HIS DADS wedding ring. I’m aprox 5 mins away if I can find parking so I’ll head right down. Ok it took about 20 mins to be at top of the stairs and my phone rings,  we’re right below you waveing.  I get down on the sand and hear the story that this was his Dads ring from 1953.

His Mother Olga was standing there with tears in her eyes, I told them ” its here and I’ll find it for you.

After gridding the whole area, I asked if they checked their chairs and stuff,  he looked at me and replied, YES, 3 times.

Open up the search area and I think it was 2 passes and boom, there she be.  I take it outa the scoop and ask “Whats it look like”? Laura gets to dimonds on top and I hold up my finger with this beautifull ring on it.

I only ask kind of metal before I search, cause its a treasure hunt for me and I love the shock factor too.

I look to Grandma and the look on her face was PRICELESS.

A really nice guy who had helped them look for the ring in the sand before I was called, (gess they tried for over an hour, ) came over to me and asked

” will you take a tip from me ?” Thats a first, I was kinda in shock, as he stuck a bill in my bag. This proves my feeling about helping people,  Didnt get his name but he’s in the pic, red shirt. Thank You.  Happy 4 th to all. imageimage

Lost Ring Cardiff, Calif.

  • from Carlsbad (California, United States)

I was just geeting ready for a water hunt when I saw a Ring post with a phone number. Ah what the hell, I’ll call him. Rob answered and seemed to know about our group TheRingFinders.com   I asked if he could meet me asap and we both headed to the area.  10 min later I walk down to the area to meet him and I see another detector guy 100 yds down the beach but headed the other way so I went and introduced myself. Wow we kinda know of each other, its a small world. Asked if he found anything back in the area he just went thru. Said no so I let him know if he did, reward is his. He smiled and replied I wish.

My phone rings and its Rob, I can see him coning down the beach on his phone. I say Goodby to this man and head over.  Rob shows the area so we make lines (big square) and I start to gid. Almost covered the area when Rob says, We might have been alittle more over there. An extra 10×20, so I do one pass thru turn and BEEP BEEP, I knew I had it. When u scoop a Plat ring you know it.  I turned my back and said whats it look like. 100% his.

I think he was a little bit in shock thinking no way in hell will he every see it again. He had brought his young son with him and they’ll have this story between them for life. I am STOKED to be a part of this….

Cell phone found in rocks

  • from Carlsbad (California, United States)

A man and lady came up and asked if I could help them find a phone dropped in the jetty at the Del Hotel. When he showed me it was at the very end of my reach with my 5′ water scoop. I found a tunnel under the rocks and worked my way about 12′ thru and under the big rocks. I could see it, then I was able to pull it to me. They were stoked, thanks Aro for askin for my help. it was a great recovery.image

UnderWater Hunt , Orange County, Calif

  • from Carlsbad (California, United States)

We were on our way to a water hunt in Orange County. We end up at Harbor Police office. Tryin to get an OK to dive this area. As you know, things  are never what they seem. We are told of an Officer’s knife dropped close by.

We head to our dive area and do 2 dives in the area, with lots of trash.

Try swingin slow as to not churn up the muck. Ha .. Still an intresting dive. Uncovered all metal in this dive area.

Our time here is over, to be continued…

# 2.  On the way back we stop by the area of the Officer knife. I’m wet and cold but couldnt pass this up. They do have Dive Teams but this was dropped yesterday. Put this mask on and jump in. Look down at area aprox 10′ -12′ deep with ok vis. Dive down grab in first spot , nothing. Look to my side, grab a handfull of muck, ah its gota a knife in it. Goin up, slap the knife on the deck. Stoked as Curtis Cox pulls me on to the dock. One outa two for today. Three members of TheRingFinders on this event ;

Durning a high tide week I was detecting when a lifegaurd tells me a man at another beach had lost his key when the high tide washed over the whole beach to the cliff. He gave him my number. 2 hrs later no call so I head to the area. Within 10 mins on the beach detecting I see this guy walking over, He had the look and walk. I bet you lost your keys. He smiles and replies yep thats me. Well lets go getum. As we get to the area I can see someone used a rake. He says that Lady in the condo loaned it to me but 1 1/2 hrs nothing. There is a river of water knee deep up against the cliff so I wade in and start  clearning the area. Nothing, wow. Ok lets follow the water flow. Aprox 60/80′ away we find this Big set of keys pushed up under the edge of the iceplant . Wow, water had some power that day. Find out he is a local pastor in Fallbrook. He had a friend with him and they were both stoked. Glad I got to meet them both. image

imageimageGot a E-Mail asking if a Ring lost in the Ocean has any chance of being found. I replied, of course. Give me more details.;  They gave me a land mark that turned out to be key in this area. First day, 2 plus hrs but tide was a little high that day. Next day was a low tide so I got there one hr before low. Not a main beach so no people. I take that back, Two ladys who watched me for about one hr. When I found it I went over and showed them. Passing the word about

“TheRingFinders.com”

Called the Singleton family who was very excited, they live 2 hrs away so they planned to come out the next day.

We meet on the cliff over looking the ocean for the pictures. Glad to be able to help this family.

Hit in the head playing volleyball at moonlight beach, Encinitas.  After looking for a time, they give up.

Later that day one of the Lady’s finds me on TheRingFinders.com and gives me a call.  With area known I go down and dig , staples, small nails, one junk toe ring.  I call back and asked a bit more. Thinking how far could it have gone. She said she watched it fly off her left shoulder.  We meet the next day to discover NO DETECTOR will pick it up. Testing the one she brought.

What ?  Ok time to call the troops in. I call my partner, Curtis Cox and and friend Stan Ross from up north.  Stan and I come up with an idea, strianers.

Three RingFinders on their hands and knees sifting the volleyball court. 1 1/2 hrs and it comes up in Stan Ross’s sifter the othe way from what we had been told. As we try to figure out how it was there, when she got hit she turned to her right. It did fly off her left shoulder but to the right 6′.

This was a TEAM HUNT, 2 sifter $120.00.  We weren’t gona miss this.

Tiny White gold , open, not detectable.

Closed was detectable. Great lesson.
