Successful Lost Ring in Car Recovery ..  Santa Ana, CA.  By Ringfinders Member .. Call Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136

*** Julie called me asking if I could help her find her Cartier Love ring that was lost in her car last December, ( 3 months ago ).. Many times people think the ring may have been lost in the car. This time Julie was sure she dropped the ring while sitting in the driver’s seat.

We set up a date to meet at her home in Santa Ana, CA. The car  was a Honda Van type vehicle.  I took my endoscope that has 4 different size camera heads and is able to record the search process. It’s a tedious search as it requires keeping a constant visual attention to the monitor screen. The recording video also helps review the search.

All these tools take a while to master, just as the metal detectors have a learning curve. It took an hour to locate the gold ring which had somehow ended up under the center console between the driver and passenger seats. When using a endoscope it is always a surprise when the ring just appears.

This was only part of the recovery. Even though I could see the ring in the endoscope monitor, I had no access to the underside of the console.Using several retrieving tools I carry, it still took almost 2 hours to coach the ring from underneath the console. Even though I had located the ring, I’m sure an auto mechanic would have charged plenty to remove the console to get the ring. Long story short we were able to find Julie’s Cartier Love Ring ( actually her wedding ring) .. You can the smile in her eyes even though she had to were a medical mask..

*** Daniel called asking for help to find a white gold wedding band that he lost in the sand 4 days ago. The area of the loss was a very populated part of Newport Beach, CA. I gave him a short explanation of our chances to recover the ring as that beach is heavily hunted area by recreational metal detectors and it is also sifted by the city Beach King machine.

He understood and I said I could meet him at the location. This was the last day he would be able to show me the general location. He showed me a 20’x20’ area. I setup my metal detector and decided to start at the center. A half dozens swings of my detector and my first signal was Daniel’s white gold wedding ring that had been hiding in the sand at the towel line.

Both Daniel and his wife were very happy and amazed that his ring was found so fast after so many days. I know all the possibilities that the ring could have easily been found or picked up by the cleaning machines. This is just another case to stay positive and give it try..

Lost wedding ring in Fairview Lake, Orlando, Florida….Found with a metal detector!

Peyton and his wife were enjoying a beautiful sunny day on Fairview Lake and as he jumped off of his boat and into the shallow water he felt his gold wedding ring slip off of his finger. After 27 years of marriage and having already lost one of his wedding rings years ago he was stunned that here it was happening again. After feeling around in the sand and mud he gave up and decided to come back and look for it again with a mask and hookah dive system and a small hand held waterproof metal detector. He also was able to mark the area where he was anchored on his boats GPS system making it much easier to pinpoint the exact area, which is so, so important!

Peyton returned the next day and searched for a couple of hours but was unsuccessful in finding his lost gold ring. Later that evening as he was searching on line to buy a full size waterproof metal detector he came across theringfinders.com web site and found my name. We made arrangements to meet later on that day and I figured if he marked the area it would make the ring much easier to locate. Peyton was waiting in his boat when I arrived and as soon as I loaded all my gear we were off to the other side of the lake. There was a fairly stiff breeze and after getting the anchors set I jumped into the water and with Peyton guiding me I placed four PVC poles around the area where he figured he lost his ring. Usually a large gold ring will give me certain numbers on my waterproof Garrett AT Max metal detector so I concentrated on any signal that read even close to those numbers. I dug a number of nickels, pull tabs and other assorted targets and as I was coming close to finishing up the 2500 square foot area I asked Peyton to think about what direction to expand my search area….and he felt confident it was in the general area that I was finishing up. And sure enough as I was on my last grid line I got a clean, solid, mid-tone signal and as I dumped out my scoop onto my floating sifter…there shining bright and beautiful in the evening sun was Peyton’s lost gold wedding ring! How I thank God for allowing me to find and return Peyton’s lost ring and to be a part of seeing such joy and relief on his face. And thank you Peyton for calling me and for giving me that opportunity!

Maybe you have lost something precious and valuable and need my help?!! Call or text me ASAP!

Lost diamond ring in yard, Ormond Beach, Florida…Found!

I received a call from a lady in Miami who was anxious about finding someone to help her daughter find a lost ring. The mom went on to explain that her daughter lost her diamond engagement ring in the thick grass and was at the local Walmart looking to buy a cheap metal detector. Somehow the concerned mother had found theringfinders.com website and assured her daughter that there was hope of finding her lost diamond ring. A few minutes later I called Brittany and got a few more details about what happened and I assured her that I would pack up my equipment and come ASAP!

An hour later I pulled up in front of her house and could see Brittany walking thru the yard looking for her ring. It had just been raining quite hard and Brittany was afraid that her ring would wash down the ditch and disappear into the storm drain under the driveway. I tried to reassure her that rings dropped in grassy areas very seldom get moved around by rain and being as they are mostly made of gold, which is heavy, plus the opening in the center of the ring and too if there is a diamond sticking out the side….all these variables cause the ring to hang up and they just want to go down deeper into the grass. Brittany also felt very embarrassed about exactly how the ring ended up in the yard and again I assured her it happens all the time and the main objective now was to try and locate her lost ring and get it back on her finger where it has been for the last 8 years!

For these kinds of searches I carry a few inexpensive rings with a small piece of surveyors tape tied to it that I use for a test throw to help me mark the approximate location of where the actual ring may have landed. I encouraged Brittany to remember how she felt and to do exactly what she did the day before. Bless her heart–she even asked me to turn around and not to watch as she went into action. The test ring laded out in the yard some 40 to 45 feet away and I promptly set up my 4 small flags around the spot where the test ring landed and began my grid search. And sure enough not 8 feet away from the test ring I got a reading of 46 on my ATMax metal detector and it showed two inches deep. I pulled my pin pointer out to help locate the object and there it was…a beautiful white gold diamond ring…just waiting to be found! Brittany was so, so happy and I was almost as excited to be the one to find it for her.

May God bless you Brittany and may your marriage and your ring remain strong and in tact!

Lost wedding ring in Lake Maitland, Winter Park, Florida….Found!

Kelly called me and asked if I was available to help recover a lost wedding ring that had fallen off of a dock and into the water. Apparently while taking photos for some newly weds, Kelly had asked for the rings and the brides bouquet of flowers and had balanced the rings on the flowers in order to take a unique series of photos. And you can guessed what happened next! Somehow the brides wedding ring moved ever so slightly and slid off of the bouquet and dropped onto the wooden dock and fell directly thru a crack and into the water. It seems no one actually saw the ring hit the dock or fall through a crack but everyone spent the next 30 minutes looking for the ring and it became obvious that the ring had indeed fallen into the water below.

Kelly felt terrible about the whole ordeal and decided to actually go to the jeweler, where the original ring was purchased, and buy another identical ring to replace the lost one. Kelly was determined to somehow find the bride’s ring and thought about purchasing or even renting a metal detector to look for the ring herself and that led her to search on line and up came theringfinders.com.

I met Kelly at the beautiful Kraft Azalea Garden (Park) and she showed me where the ring dropped. The water was three to four feet deep and there were numerous targets that needed clearing out for fear they could mask such a small white gold ring. It took a good 30 minutes to finally locate the dainty diamond ring and Oh what a relief it was! Kelly was thrilled to have her clients original ring back and I was starting to get really cold! Thanks Kelly for taking a few photos for me with your phone and for giving me the opportunity to help you!
