Metal Detecting Ladner BC for the… Missing Time Capsule

The Mystery of the Missing Time Capsule Buried Dec.31st. 1999… Set to open in less then 3 weeks on the 10 year anniversary and the owner can’t find it…

Hi, I received a call a couple of days ago from a man who had an interesting story about a 10 year old time capsule that he buried in his back yard.

Dan explained to me that in 1999 his family and his wife’s family all got together and made a time capsule and buried it in his back yard.

10 years later all the family was getting back together for New Years and they were all excited about opening the time capsule. There was only one problem…Dan couldn’t find it.

Over the past 10 years much had changed in his backyard. The fence was moved back three feet and the gazebo where he had buried the time capsule was gone.

Using an outline of where the gazebo was as a reference to the area where he remembered burying the capsule, Dan started digging but had no luck. He was worried that if he couldn’t find it the family would be upset, so he was researching metal detectors online and found my service and called me in for the search.

We met and discussed the search and because he wasn’t sure that there was any metal in the bucket this made it difficult as all I was thinking that my detector could only find the handle, if it had one.

I grid searched by digging in the area that he thought it could be in, also in another area that we thought it could be as well, but know luck.

After we discussed a few thing and close to three hours and no time capsule he called his wife. This was a good

move as she remembered him digging behind the gazebo.

This put us in an area that Dan never thought it could be in, and we never searched…I received a signal after we took a bit of the topsoil down and it was just a tin can lid, then I saw a little hole near the lid where Dan had dug and there it was!

What a fun treasure hunt! I was as happy as Dan when we found it, the good new is that he said he would email me the pictures of what was inside after the family opens it on Dec.31

This was a similar search to the one that my friend from Australia Billy Sherman had.The only difference is his was a jar with $10,000! Nice going Billy! Read his story here… http://www.losttreasure.com.au/tag/buried-treasure/

Thanks for reading my stories!

Metal Detecting Abbotsford Park for Lost Gold Wedding Band

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Yesterday afternoon I received a call to help find a man’s wedding band that he lost at a park in Abbotsford.

Dave was at the park throwing a ball for his dog and trying to get the ball out of the dogs month and suddenly realized that his ring was gone.

He called his wife to tell her the bad news and right away she searched on the internet and found my service. We talked for a while and she told me that her husband was still searching for the ring. I said I’d be happy to take a look if he didn’t find, later that night she called and asked if I’d come out.

Abbotsford is a little over 1 hour drive each way and we were to meet at 7:30 am to search for his ring. When I met Dave he showed me the area he was standing and showed me the direction he was throwing the ball, my first thought was this is going to be a long search!

He had to go to school so he headed off and I started my grid search of the area he was standing in while he was throwing the ball. Within minutes I found his ring! Crazy how that works, sometimes it only takes minutes and other times it can take hours.

Metal Detecting for a lost Diamond Earring/White Rock/Cresent Beach/BC

Today I had a search for a lost diamond earring that was pulled off the ladies ear by her puppy… The lady and her husband took the puppy to the vet to have it ex-rayed to make sure the dog didn’t swallow it.

The ex-rays didn’t show that the puppy swallowed the earring so they searched the area of the garden that they believed it was lost in, but found nothing.

I have to say that earrings are very difficult to locate due to the fact that there is very little gold on the post that holds in the diamonds. That being said I love a challenge, and this earring was bigger then most so I knew I’d get a good signal. This search was closing in on 2 hours and the search area was small but a few plants and shrubs made it difficult.

I was ready to grid search the rest of the backyard because I didn’t find it where we thought it would be, but for some reason I went back to the spot that I’d been searching(with my hands in the shrubs) and this time I received a faint signal and as I started to move some lose dirt out popped the earring.

The earrings were a 10 year anniversary gift and as you can see in the picture above…It made her day that it was found!

Lost diamond ring at Harrison Hot Springs…

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

My son was out camping with a few friends at Harrison Hot Springs and a girl he went to school with lost her diamond engagement ring at the lake.

She tells me that she put the ring on her towel while she was sun tanning and when she woke up from a short sleep, she got up and shook the towel.

My son, the young lady and her fiancé, searched and searched for her ring, then it hit my son! I know someone who can help! He called and explained the situation and I was on my way to find her ring.

When I showed up they put me the area that the ring was lost in and I started to search. After 10 minutes I knew that the ring was to deep due to the fact that they were digging around for hours searching for it.

I cut back the sand and pebbles and after 10 minutes I found her beautiful diamond ring, needless to say her and her fiancé were very happy.

Vancouver, Kits Beach Lifeguard lost his wedding band!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Over the years the lifeguards at the Vancouver beaches have been very supportive of my service ”Finders” I have helped two lifeguards in the past 14 years find their lost wedding bands in the ocean at low Tide.

This picture is of a lifeguard who lost his wedding band at Kits Beach while working on a summers day. He lost it at high tide and when I met up with him he gave me the area he believed he lost the ring.

I had to wait a few days for a good low tide and when I started the search of the area it took me close to 3 1/2 hours to locate the ring.

Why so long you say? Well I have to grid search a very large area due to the fact that he put me close to the area but not in the exact area the ring was lost…

I really enjoy helping these people that save lives!
