Lost Property Irons (Markers) and Sprinkler Heads Found in Grosse Ile Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Not ALL Treasures are Gold and Silver!

This nice gentleman called me asking if I could find some lost items on his property. The house was built in 1876 and I really got excited as I have detected on old home sites and found some cool things. He explained that he had his fence permit approved and he needed the property irons and sprinkler heads that were covered over found before the fence installation and other construction projects at the house.  After I got on site I was impressed with how magnificent those old homes are. I used my Tesoro sidewinder no disc and located the items requested and received permission to detect the whole property at a later date! And the owner is interested in detecting as well!

Happy Belated Mother’s Day!

This nice lady gave me a call asking for help in finding a lost ring that was lost last weekend at an outdoor event at an open field behind her neighbor’s condo across the street. The ring was given to her from her mother and family for mothers day. She tried raking the area but was unable to pull it up. In listening to the circumstances she wasn’t sure where it may be since she was shopping and put the ring on her pinky and realized it must have slipped off during the day’s travels…as this was not the usual finger it was worn on. Waiting for the rain to pass, we checked her vehicle and talked more about where she last remembered having it on her pinky. Nothing showed up in the vehicle and the rain lightened up enough to search the field area.

I got a feeling to search from where her husband dropped her off at the curb, where she was carrying chairs to the event tents. Setting up my MXT I started to grid and got that sweet signal of gold! Coming in as +10 on the meter this beautiful ring was hiding right under the grass which was scheduled to be cut today and if it had surely would have been hit by the blade.

As I held it up you could see the happiness on her face, the smiles, and exclamations of excitement upon finding this gorgeous sentimental ring!

Thank you for reading,

Sentimental Metal….

This nice but upset gentleman called me saying a gold ring was lost out in their front yard while doing some landscaping.

He had rented a detector but the electrical interference was overtaking the unit.

The ring was handed down from grandmother and held significant sentimental value.

I had a wide open search area with no obstacles and while gridding the yard this nice 10k gold band signaled in at +40 on the MXT just under the grass very close to the sidewalk.

As you can see another happy ringfinder customer!

Lost Tungsten Ring Found In Highland Township Michigan

A Very Memorable Memorial Day!

This nice young married couple of 6 months, a veteran and housewife were at a surprise engagement party for the new grooms brother when his ring slipped off during a water balloon fight with the kids yesterday evening in between the rainstorms that came thru. I searched the area they thought it was in but nothing showed up so I continued my grid search further back in the yard when this nice tungsten band came thru as +40 on the MXT! Really weird thing tho is that the couple turned back home after heading towards the party and got his ring because he accidentally left it home. The couple and family were beyond thrilled and excited that the ring was recovered giving the holiday and their family gathering a very special meaning!

Diamonds Are a Man’s Best Friend Too!

This nice gentleman contacted me after a week had passed since his rings came off while cleaning his gutters on the house.

He had 2 rings on the same finger, a larger one in front of the thin one. Both flew off his finger, but he was able to find the thicker one. Before I was able to go search I asked him to recheck the gutter system and he did to no avail.

The thin ring was of significant sentimental and emotional value because it was made by his high school friend.

His wife was naturally sad and disappointed thinking about how something that has been cherished for so long can disappear so quickly.

So today on site I set up the MXT and started to grid in the area of the trajectory of where the first one was found.

After a few minutes nothing came up so I widened the search area and got a sweet signal that read +40 in a totally opposite direction from where the first one was found! Pinpointing with the Garrett carrot revealed this little beauty hiding below the grass! Check out how the diamonds are set in there, way cool… have not seen this design before, truly one of a kind and reunited with the family once again!

All in all a great hunt ending in lots of smiles!

Lost White Gold Ring w/ Diamonds Found in the Snow in Beverly Hills Michigan

Ring-ing in the New Year……..

….can be a very joyous time and a very stressful one too!, as what happened to this couple last night.
He called me this morning saying he just bought this very pretty white gold and diamond ring for his significant other and when they were pulling into the driveway early new years day and got into the house it was missing and must have slipped off her finger somewhere in front of the house.
When I got on site I set up my MXT and searched the area which contained bushes and some kind of plant stalks as landscape. There was also a few snow piles around the search area as well. I didn’t find anything in the yard or neighbors yard so my intuition told me to walk the path the way they came from in the car so I walked out into the street and across the road was the ring sitting in a snow pile in plain view! I grabbed it up and asked her if it was hers and she screamed with excitement remembering having rolled down the window to adjust the side view mirror and that’s where it must have came off hitting the pavement and rolling into the snow!
Sorry for the blurry pics.
They were very pleased that I recovered it with no damage and were very thankful for the wonderful start to 2017!

Lost Silver Ring in the Snow Found in Detroit Michigan

Sentimental Silver!

I’ve had an interesting and busy late fall in the Detroit area this year.
I received a call from the pictured young gentleman inquiring if I could find a lost ring in the snow. He is from Cali and was visiting a friend here and upon getting back to the friend’s place this beautiful silver ring slipped off his finger while walking up to the residence.
The ring was his mother’s who passed away a year ago and he was feeling overwhelmed about it being lost.
I set up the MXT and began the typical grid search in the area he felt most likely it was.
So as he went to run an errand I was left to search on my own and I dug up a piece of non ferrous junk that read as a ring but the sound was choppy from different directions, but I dug it up to get it out of my way.
A few more sweeps and a 1 cent 90’s read came thru loud and clear in about 5″ of snow.
He hadn’t returned yet so I went to warm up in the van with the ring.
When he returned I got out and as we walked to the area he kept asking did you find it? did you find it? and I was trying to keep a straight face as he reminded me of myself and the kids who are asking on road trips are we there yet ? are we there yet? So I said with a sad expression.. man I’ve been really bustin’ a move on finding your ring but…. as I shook his hand the ring transferred over to his and he about fell over with excitement clutching the ring close to his heart and smiling as he looked to the sky…..sensing his mothers happiness! and thanking me for making his Christmas memorable!

Lost White Gold Ring In The Snow and Ice Found in Ann Arbor Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

He Doesn’t Have To Ask Twice!

Got a call from a very talented wedding photographer stating that during a surprise engagement photo shoot that the ring got lost near a pretty, snow covered pine tree used as a backdrop. Well with snow all over in the area, someone tried to help and decided to melt the snow with hot water.
When I got on site I saw areas of ice that the ring could be in. I set up the MXT and started to grid the area and got random iron signals everywhere except this one area that came up with a weak but repeatable +8 and +12 ring at about 4″ deep. I knew this was an on edge good target from so many times before. So we started to chip away at it carefully enough to get the ice chunk out off the ground. I used my Garrett carrot which clearly vibrated a target in the chunk. So after some very careful ice chipping this gorgeous white gold ring revealed itself edge on just as I thought. I can’t describe in words the reaction of the photographer when the ring appeared, it’s just spectacular! And the bride to be? Just see the photo!
Now the groom doesn’t have to ask twice!

Lost Keys Found in The Snow in Sylvan Lake Michigan

Stranded….But Not For Long!

I got a referral call from the gentleman pictured with me that he dropped his keys in the snow drifts around his home which left him stranded.

He had an extra aluminum ring that I took a read on that was the same as what was on the lost key.

It didn’t take too long gridding the area with the MXT for them to show up.
