Just after noon, I received a message from Jayden asking if I could come help find his wife Gabrielle’s ring, which had flown off into the sand while she was applying sunscreen.
The beach was absolutely packed with holiday weekend crowds. I told Jaden the most important thing was to secure the area where they believed the ring had landed and even keep a little extra space around it so no one would set up right next to them or unknowingly move the ring deeper into the sand. I let him know I was on my way and gave him my ETA.
When I arrived, Jayden showed me exactly where they had been sitting. Their blanket and beach gear were still in place, and he explained that Gabrielle’s ring had flown off toward the right side while she was rubbing in the sunscreen. I had them move everything out of the search area, fired up the detector, and within just a few swings I heard the unmistakable signal. One scoop later, Gabrielle’s ring was safely back in my hand.
They were absolutely amazed that it was found so quickly. After searching on their own and seeing how crowded the beach had become, they had given up hope of ever seeing the ring again. It was another happy ending and another priceless piece of jewelry returned to its grateful owner.

They had been enjoying a beautiful day at the beach, and at one point Teanna had placed her engagement ring in the cup holder of their beach chair for safekeeping. Later in the day, they decided to move closer to the water. Their son grabbed the chair and dragged it down the beach, not realizing the ring was still sitting in the cup holder.
A short time later, they suddenly remembered the ring. They checked the cup holder, but it was empty.
Dean searched for help online, found my contact information, and gave me a call. I told him I could be there within the hour. He was relieved because Teanna, who was nine months pregnant, was understandably very upset, especially on such a blistering hot day.
When I arrived, Dean met me on the beach and showed me where they had originally been sitting. I carefully searched the entire area but came up empty. He then explained how the chair had been dragged down the beach and showed me the exact path. I searched back and forth from the original spot all the way to the waterline, but still no ring.
At that point I knew something wasn’t adding up.
I returned to the original area and expanded my search pattern, thinking maybe the ring had bounced farther than expected. Still nothing. I headed back toward the water and continued searching the chair’s path. About two passes later, I got a beautiful signal that I was almost certain was Teanna’s engagement ring.
Sure enough, there it was—resting safely in my scoop.
The relief on Dean and Teanna’s faces was immediate. They were incredibly grateful to have the ring back, and knowing that such an important piece of jewelry would stay with their growing family made the recovery even more rewarding.
There’s nothing better than being able to help someone in a situation like that.

Jersey ShoreRing Finder  Brandy called asking if I would be able to come to the beach and help her and her daughter find a necklace she had lost earlier that day. Since I wouldn’t be able to get there until well after dark, I asked if she knew exactly where it had been lost. She assured me they had marked the entire area with sticks and were confident it had fallen out of a pocket inside her beach bag.
After a long day, I finally arrived at the beach that evening. I had called Brandy with my ETA, and it worked out perfectly that she was able to meet me there. As we walked out to the search area, I was impressed with how well they had marked the location. Even in the dark, it was easy to identify exactly where to begin.
Brandy explained that she had taken her necklace off, placed it inside a pocket of her beach bag, and sometime later it must have slipped out into the sand without anyone noticing.
We marked out a search area of about 20 by 20 feet and I began a slow, methodical grid search. Because it was such a fine necklace, I had my detector’s sensitivity turned up very high so I could hear even the faintest signals. Partway through the search I got a very weak signal and was convinced I had found the necklace. Instead, it turned out to be the metal tip from a makeup brush.
After searching the entire grid without success, I decided to change my approach and perform a cross-grid search from a different direction. As I passed back over the same area where I had found the makeup brush tip, I heard another very faint signal. This time, after carefully scooping the sand, there it was—Brandy’s beautiful necklace.
Brandy and her daughter were absolutely amazed. We had already covered the area once, and they were beginning to lose hope. Fortunately, patience, experience, and searching from a different direction made all the difference.
It’s a great reminder that sometimes the first search isn’t enough. Never give up.

I got a call from Lauren, who was noticeably upset because she had just lost her wedding set in the ocean. I told her to try to stay calm, that I would head out immediately, and asked her to mark the location on Google Maps using her cell phone so we could pinpoint the area as accurately as possible.

When I arrived, I met her husband in the parking lot and we talked as we walked down to the beach. He explained exactly what had happened and how Lauren’s rings had slipped off in the surf. With the tide coming in quickly, I knew time was not on our side.

I headed straight into the water and began searching as low on the beach as I safely could. In about waist-deep water, almost immediately, I heard that beautiful signal every detectorist hopes for. A quick scoop later and there it was—Lauren’s wedding ring!

I checked the same area again, and just inches away I got another strong signal. This time it was her engagement ring.

The entire beach erupted in excitement. Several people had been watching the situation unfold, and within moments what had started as a heartbreaking day turned into an incredible recovery. Lauren went from tears and panic to smiles and relief in a matter of minutes.

There’s nothing quite like handing someone back something they thought was lost forever. Moments like these are exactly why I love what I do.

Jersey ShorePoint Pleasant Beach    I received an email on my business page from Stephan asking if I could help find a charm that had fallen off his necklace when it broke. As soon as I saw the message, I replied and told him to give me a call. That made it much easier to talk through exactly what happened.
Stephan explained that they had been on the beach for the day when the necklace broke and his Star of David medallion fell into the sand. I told him I could head over later that evening and assured him it would still be safe to search, since it’s not a very popular area this time of year. I asked Stephan to send me a few pictures to help pinpoint the exact spot, since he had already gone home by the time I arrived.
When I got to the beach, it was easy to see where they had been sitting. I started making slow back-and-forth passes with my detector, making sure I had enough overlap in my swings, which I knew would be consistent with the size and shape of the medallion. I got another faint signal right next to it, and it turned out to be the lobster claw clasp that had broken off the chain at the same time the medallion was lost.
I sent Stephan the pictures, and he couldn’t believe it. He didn’t even realize the clasp had broken off the chain.
I’m still working out arrangements with Stephan to get his medallion back to him, hopefully within the next week or so. Another prime example of contacting NJ Ring Finder ASAP, which can lead to a successful recovery.

Stephen’s brother has picked up the medallion.

Ring Finder LBI Julia contacted me about her husband, Trevor, who had lost his necklace while enjoying a beautiful day at the Jersey Shore.

Trevor was out in the water when he ducked under a wave and suddenly felt his necklace flip right over his head. He popped back up in a panic and immediately started searching, but the surf and waves made it impossible to find. That’s when Julia reached out to me.

I asked quite a few questions, and fortunately Trevor had a very good idea of where he was standing when it happened. There was a rope line separating the swimming area from the jetty, and he was confident he had been no farther than the third buoy and within about 10 to 15 feet of it. That narrowed the search area down considerably.

I wasn’t able to get there until later in the day after the swimmers had cleared out and the tide was approaching low. I started searching the north side of the rope and worked the area thoroughly, but I wasn’t getting any promising signals.

As I looked out, I noticed the rope had a significant bow in it from the force of the tide and current. That made me rethink exactly where Trevor would have been standing when the necklace came off. I moved closer to the bowed section of the rope and began searching again.

Almost immediately, I got that sweet signal.

The tone was stronger than I expected, and I had a pretty good feeling I knew why. A few scoops later, I saw the glimmer in my scoop—Trevor’s necklace! And attached to it was his wedding ring, which he had been wearing on the chain. That extra gold explained the beautiful signal I had heard.

Within moments, what had been a stressful day at the beach turned into a celebration. Trevor and Julia were thrilled to have such an important piece of jewelry back in their hands, and I was happy to help make it happen.

Apple Watch Recovered on LBI Beach After Being Lost Overnight

Beth contacted me about an Apple Watch her daughter had lost the day before while they were enjoying the beach on Long Beach Island. She had posted in a local Facebook group looking for help, but didn’t get any responses.

After several people referred her to me, Edward Trapper – NJ Ring Finder, she decided to reach out directly. I was able to head out to the location as soon as possible.

Using the pin they dropped, I walked out onto the beach and began scanning the area. As I approached the marked spot, I noticed something slightly off to the side — just beyond where I had already searched. Find lost ring Ortley Beach  I was on my way to doing a recovery when I received a phone call from Carly. She explained her father John had lost a very sentimental Beach Badge that belong to his mother over 40 years ago. She said he wore this Beach Badge every day for the last 40 years and somehow it came on clipped from his bathing suit. Faith messaged me asking if I could come out and help recover her father Mark’s ring, which had somehow disappeared into the sand. After getting a few details, I told them I’d head right over. In the meantime, I asked them to keep the area secure so no one would set up chairs where they had been sitting.

When I arrived on the beach, Mark walked me through exactly what happened. He had taken his ring off and placed it in the top pocket of his shirt, which he had laid on top of the cooler for safekeeping. After a few hours of enjoying the beach and doing a little swimming, he put his shirt back on and started to take a walk. As he was walking, he reached for the pocket and realized the ring was gone.

We searched the immediate area around the chairs first, but had no luck. Then I had Mark retrace the path he believed he had taken toward the lifeguard chair. Still nothing. I searched all the way up to the tide line and even worked a little into the waves, but the ring still didn’t turn up.

We regrouped and went over every detail again, but nothing changed. So I decided to work a little farther down the slope into the water, about knee-deep. Sure enough, just a few steps from his chair and in the same direction he had walked, I got the hit. Mark’s ring was already about 10 inches down in the soft sand.

A little recovery work and a little detective work saved the day on this one.

I received a call from Lisa asking if I would be able to help locate a ring she had lost earlier in the day while enjoying a beautiful afternoon in Seaside Park, New Jersey.

Lisa explained that while applying lotion, she had removed her ring and placed it in the cupholder of her beach chair. It wasn’t until later—after they had already driven home—that she realized the ring was missing. She and her group immediately began searching everywhere, and even made the drive back to Seaside Park in hopes of finding it. They tried using a metal detector, but unfortunately had no luck.

After hearing her story, I assured Lisa that if the ring was still in the area she described, I was confident I could recover it. I arrived shortly after and began searching the area after removing the chairs and belongings from the spot.

Within just a few minutes, I had Lisa’s beautiful ring in my scoop and back on her finger. Her relief and excitement said it all!
