After completing the successful recovery I was there for, I decided to see if I could reunite the watch with its owner. I was able to access the Emergency Medical ID and found a phone number. I called but didn’t get an answer, so I left a voicemail. About an hour and a half after I got home, I decided to send a text. A short time later, my phone rang.

The owner, Bill, told me the watch had been lost the day before on Webster Avenue in Seaside Heights. I found it on New York Avenue in Lavallette—nearly 1.8 miles away in less than 24 hours. It’s unbelievable how far the ocean can carry an item in such a short amount of time.

Many people might have simply tossed the watch aside or kept it, but at NJ Ring Finder, I do everything I can to reunite people with their lost belongings, whether I’m hired to search for them or happen to find them while recovering another item.

Bill was incredibly grateful and said his son would be overjoyed to have his Apple Watch back. He had been extremely upset after losing it in the ocean the day before, and being able to return it made my day just as much as it made theirs.

Just after dinner I received a phone call from Vinny asking if I could help locate his lost wedding ring and his wife’s wedding ring. They had been searching for days, tearing apart the house and retracing every step they had taken during their vacation in SSP. They checked sidewalks, roads, and anywhere they could think of, but had no luck.
Eventually, they narrowed the search area down to a small bay beach in SSP where they believed the rings may have been lost.
The weather forecast wasn’t looking promising, but I figured I had enough time to make it to the beach before the approaching storm rolled in. When I arrived, Vinny explained again that we were searching for his wedding ring and his wife’s wedding ring.
I began searching the area where they believed the rings were lost. Almost immediately, I received a beautiful signal. A few scoops later, out popped his wife’s wedding band! Vinny was thrilled.
As I continued searching, I asked him to describe his wedding ring once more. I got another strong signal only a few feet from where I found the first ring. But this wasn’t a man’s wedding band—it was a gorgeous woman’s engagement ring.
Vinny happened to be on the phone with his wife, so I asked him exactly what her ring looked like. Suddenly he exclaimed, “Oh my gosh! My wife just told me she lost her engagement ring too!”
That was the first time anyone mentioned a third ring.
I held the ring up for Vinny to see and the shock and excitement on his face was priceless. What started as a search for two wedding rings had suddenly become the recovery of an engagement ring as well.
I continued searching for Vinny’s wedding band, but during the search he received another phone call. This time, his wife had found his wedding ring tucked away on their stroller where it had been hiding the entire time.
It may have been a little confusing keeping track of which rings were lost and which were found, but in the end it was a wonderful outcome. Vinny was incredibly grateful, and after chatting for a few more minutes, we both headed home happy.

They had been enjoying a beautiful day at the beach, and at one point Teanna had placed her engagement ring in the cup holder of their beach chair for safekeeping. Later in the day, they decided to move closer to the water. Their son grabbed the chair and dragged it down the beach, not realizing the ring was still sitting in the cup holder.
A short time later, they suddenly remembered the ring. They checked the cup holder, but it was empty.
Dean searched for help online, found my contact information, and gave me a call. I told him I could be there within the hour. He was relieved because Teanna, who was nine months pregnant, was understandably very upset, especially on such a blistering hot day.
When I arrived, Dean met me on the beach and showed me where they had originally been sitting. I carefully searched the entire area but came up empty. He then explained how the chair had been dragged down the beach and showed me the exact path. I searched back and forth from the original spot all the way to the waterline, but still no ring.
At that point I knew something wasn’t adding up.
I returned to the original area and expanded my search pattern, thinking maybe the ring had bounced farther than expected. Still nothing. I headed back toward the water and continued searching the chair’s path. About two passes later, I got a beautiful signal that I was almost certain was Teanna’s engagement ring.
Sure enough, there it was—resting safely in my scoop.
The relief on Dean and Teanna’s faces was immediate. They were incredibly grateful to have the ring back, and knowing that such an important piece of jewelry would stay with their growing family made the recovery even more rewarding.
There’s nothing better than being able to help someone in a situation like that.

Apple Watch Recovered on LBI Beach After Being Lost Overnight

Beth contacted me about an Apple Watch her daughter had lost the day before while they were enjoying the beach on Long Beach Island. She had posted in a local Facebook group looking for help, but didn’t get any responses.

After several people referred her to me, Edward Trapper – NJ Ring Finder, she decided to reach out directly. I was able to head out to the location as soon as possible.

Using the pin they dropped, I walked out onto the beach and began scanning the area. As I approached the marked spot, I noticed something slightly off to the side — just beyond where I had already searched. Find lost ring Ortley Beach  I was on my way to doing a recovery when I received a phone call from Carly. She explained her father John had lost a very sentimental Beach Badge that belong to his mother over 40 years ago. She said he wore this Beach Badge every day for the last 40 years and somehow it came on clipped from his bathing suit. I told her I could head out there for the next low tide, but she wanted to confirm it wasn’t found yet. I said no worries., call me back and keep me posted. She called back quickly and I told her I’d be on the beach early the next morning and sure enough within moments. Faith messaged me asking if I could come out and help recover her father Mark’s ring, which had somehow disappeared into the sand. After getting a few details, I told them I’d head right over. In the meantime, I asked them to keep the area secure so no one would set up chairs where they had been sitting.

When I arrived on the beach, Mark walked me through exactly what happened. He had taken his ring off and placed it in the top pocket of his shirt, which he had laid on top of the cooler for safekeeping. After a few hours of enjoying the beach and doing a little swimming, he put his shirt back on and started to take a walk. As he was walking, he reached for the pocket and realized the ring was gone.

We searched the immediate area around the chairs first, but had no luck. Then I had Mark retrace the path he believed he had taken toward the lifeguard chair. Still nothing. I searched all the way up to the tide line and even worked a little into the waves, but the ring still didn’t turn up.

We regrouped and went over every detail again, but nothing changed. So I decided to work a little farther down the slope into the water, about knee-deep. Sure enough, just a few steps from his chair and in the same direction he had walked, I got the hit. Mark’s ring was already about 10 inches down in the soft sand.

A little recovery work and a little detective work saved the day on this one.
