Lost Ring at SunSet Beach, Vancouver, BC…Found in 3 Feet of Water!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

This was a 911 call at around 5pm when I was still at work, I talked to the young lady and she told me that she had lost a very special ring that was given to her by someone she loves very much! She spent hours searching in the water with googles and the ring as most do just disappeared into the sand below.

I assured her that as soon as I got off work that would be right there to find her ring, she told me that she knew the spot and I was hopeful for a very quick recovery… She waited at the spot for 4 hours until I got off work and arrived at the beach.

It was dark when I arrived,  I was sure that it would be a fast recovery as she showed me the area the ring was lost. Well it took 2 hours before the ring showed itself! I could tell that Tina was losing hope and I wanted to get a first time reaction so I told her my batteries were dying and I needed to change them.

As I got out of the water I started my video camera and started to talk to her about the search and about how many pennies I was finding…Then I reached into my scoop and held out her ring!

Her face lit up and the ring that meant the world to her was back where it belonged!

Found Wedding & Engagement Rings at The Dog Park, Kits Beach.

Just before I was getting ready to call it a night I received an email that a young lady had lost both her wedding & engagement rings at the dog park at Kits Beach. I emailed the person right away and asked them to call me, minutes later we were discussing the search.

Because the rings were lost at such a high risk area…(beach and by a log) I knew that we’d have to get out ASAP to search for the rings. The young man agreed to meet me at 11:45 pm, we met and he showed me the area he thought the rings would be in…

After a few swings of my metal detector and no rings I began to move to the front of the log where they never searched for the rings and within a minute I found one of the rings…

Minutes after the wedding ring was found I found the engagement ring! Smiles all around! The rings were not where he thought they’d be but its my job to think of why they’re not there and expand my search area. For some reason the rings were deep! After discussing the search he told me that they have a 70 lb. dog that was play right were the rings where found…

Lost diamond ring Bradford Beach, Milwaukee… FOUND!

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

An innocent  flip of a beach towel catapulted Pamela’s precious ring into the abyss of endless loose sand.  Despite her best search efforts, and those of her friends, the ring seemed destined to never to grace her finger again.  And its story might well have ended were it not for the phone call Pamela made to a Wisconsin member of The Ring Finders.–Paul Humphreys.  After hearing Pamela’s story, Paul arranged to meet her the next afternoon at Bradford Beach on the shores of Lake Michigan near downtown Milwaukee.  Pamela pointed out a living-room sized area close to the water’s edge whee she believed the highly sentimental token made its fatal leap.  After only 10-minutes of searching with his Whites XLT Metal Detector, the ring’s hiding place was no match for the detector and Paul’s skills.  What a joy to present yet another lost ring to its overjoyed owner!  And as his practice, 25% of the reward he received, is donated to the Waukesha Memorial Hospital, the medical  facility that helped Paul return to his love of metal detecting after battling serious cancer.

Property and Estate Searches Yakima Washington

  • from Yakima (Washington, United States)

To date most of my hunts have included searches for rings and other lost personal items. But the use of a metal detector goes beyond just rings. I initially purchased my Whites Classic ID metal detector 11 years ago to search my property for underground lines and property markers. Since then I have loaned out that detector to search for wiring in new construction, for a friend to look for a pair of glasses lost on a snowy hike and yes for several property marker searches.

Recently I was asked if my detector could locate the lid from a chewing tobacco can. I responded that it would be able to see the metal part of the can and followed up his question with one of my own. Why?

The response got me ready to hunt. He told me a story about his grandparents who hid money in their yard in these containers and who knows what else. In one can there was a reported three thousand dollars. They lived in an area rich with history and many detectors had been by asking for permission to hunt their property. They had always said yes, but restricted them from searching around the house.

This led the person asking me the question to think there may be much more in the ground and he wanted me to do a property search. Currently the ground is nicely frozen, so this will have to wait until spring, and I will report back on what I find.

Another friend spoke with me about searching his late fathers property as they had already found $37,000 in cash in a drawer when they went through his estate. The father had owned a coin op car wash pre–1965 and had told the kids, when I die you can bet I will have several large drums of silver coins in the yard.

So you see besides searching for rings or keys, there are other good uses for a metal detector.

If you have a property that you think holds buried treasure and would like a hunt done, then let me know. If you are in the Washington State area I can help you out and depending on the treasure, I could be willing to travel. I can also set you up with a Ring Finder in your area who I am sure would be more than happy to help you out.

Now if spring could only hurry up so I can get to that estate search and see what treasure is waiting to be found.

Do you have a search? I am waiting for your call.

Lost Gold Ring in a Ditch in Chilliwack BC…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call from a young man that told me that he lost his late fathers gold ring that was given to him two years ago.

He told me that he was parked by the side of the road and threw an apple out of the car window and his ring that was fitting him a bit lose went flying off his finger with the apple towards a ditch.

It was dark out and he searched as best he could but couldn’t find the ring. He came back in the morning and searched the area but still no ring!

He told me that he rented a metal detector and searched the area for hours but couldn’t find it. He was pretty sure that it went into the ditch that was muddy and full of water.

When I arrived to the area in Chilliwack where he lost the ring my first thoughts were… this was going to be a tough search! Due to the water and branches and mud in the ditch.

I started my search near the side of the road by the long grass near the ditch, I figured that I’d start with the easy part and make my way to the hard part(Muddy Water)

This was a good idea as less then 10 minutes I got a loud signal which turned out to be a flatten out beer can and right beside it was his late fathers gold ring!

It was very windy and I lost most of the interview because of the sound but I can tell you he was a very happy young man!

I love my job!

Lost Silver Angel Pendant...Found

Angel Pendant lost...Found

Well today I had a search for a lost silver angel pendent, at a park in Vancouver. It was lost at a rugby practice, my first thought was that some young man had lost it…Wrong! Some young lady had lost it while training.

Normally I wouldn’t search for something lost without the permission of the person first, but the person posted it on the internet with the exact location. I couldn’t get out the day I saw the post because of work so I went out the next day.

When I arrived at the location and started my grid search I could tell that someone else had already searched the area for the lost pendant.

I was a little set back at the thought that someone must of already found it, but it was such a nice day I decided to search anyway.

I started my grid where the person left off, instead of continuing the grid north I back tracked south toward the area that was already searched.

That was a good call as it didn’t take long before something silver caught my eye, my first thought was…that’s a dime, but closer inspection it turned out to be the pendant!

It was nice meeting you Amy! And thank you for the generous reward!

I love my job!

Lost something and need it found!
