Brampton, Ontario~Lost mens 21k gold ring in the snow!

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

2017-12-14 Brampton, Ontario

I received a phone call from a young man who wishes to remain anonymous.

He mentioned that he was throwing snowballs in the front yard of his rental home and because of the extremely cold weather his 21k gold ring flew off his finger.

I proceed the next day to go immediately after work as it was a short distance away.

I started a grid search using my trusty Minelab Excallibur 2. I took should have had winter gloves on but within 15 minutes and knowing the ring would be just under the snow tucked into the grass I found it!!

He was a very happy young man!!

Tiny Township, Simcoe County, Ontario Lost 20th Anniversary gold ring~What a beauty!!

2017-10-09 Tiny Township, Simcoe County, Ontario

Received a phone call from Kim S that she lost her 20th Anniversary gold with diamonds rind either on her property or in the water.

We set a date and I proceeded up with all my detecting and scuba gear incase a water entry was required. Kim felt strongly that she lost her beautiful ring in the water. I asked more questions and she had said that her husband reminded her that she was back and forth from the water to the hot tub numerous times with the Grand Children.

My gut was telling me to start on land. I proceeded with a grid search…found a penny…found some metal…then on my my 4th pass back between the grass and the concrete steps leading down to the water was a shinny gold ring sparkling with many diamonds staring right back at me!!

I kept my cool, put my detector down and said to Kim “I forgot to do my video for good luck”!! I did a “Facebook Live” video and SURPRISED her with her ring. I think she was in shock when she grabbed it out of my hand….it was really great to see her jump for joy in all the excitement. Kim proceeded to call her Husband who was at the airport to let him know the great news!

I am very grateful to Kim as she rewarded me with a very generous donation on behalf of my “Pay-It-Forward” campaign for the 2018 19th annual Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation Snow Run on my behalf!! Thank you Kim!!

Pike Lake, Minto, Ontario~2nd visit~Lost gun metal wedding band in the water 2nd time back!

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

2017-09-25 Pike Lake, Minto, Ontario (2nd visit back)

So the August 14th, 2017 Ring recovery & return for Heather R’s late Uncle Paul was sent around via email to all the trailer owners/members at the Pike Lake Private Community. One of the trailer owners Shawn H had just read the story.  Shawn and his Family were having fun in the water slide and Shawn’s hand caught the loop on the water slide. He watched his unique “gun metal” wedding band with 3 black diamonds slide off his finger into the water. The bottom of the lake was thick muck. Because of my previous ring find at the lake he gave me a call. I was up at Wasaga Beach, headed home to Erin to pick up my scuba gear and tanks and then directly to Pike Lake.

I met Shawn did a quick interview, put my scuba gear on and took out both my Minelab Excallibur 2 and the Scuba Tector ready.

Anywhere from 3″ to 16″ of MUCK with zero visibility at times. The first ring I pulled out and went to the surface and said “I found it”. I described the ring as Shawn was on the beach and he said that it wasn’t his….then came the 2nd ring….then a pair of sunglasses. Shawn had to head back home with his young Family. Within 20 minutes of him leaving….B-O-O-M…I found his unique ring

I send him a text message with a picture of his ring to say “this look familiar?” They were ecstatic!! I met Sean’s wife the following day to return his ring. Unfortunately, I didn’t find her sunglasses but I’ve been invited back by the Park owners!

The ring on the left (middle photo) is the Pike Lake owners Daughter’s Husband’s wedding band with the Italian sunglasses belonging to her Friend visiting from California. DOUBLE WHAMMY!!

Video coming soon!

Still another ring to be returned to it’s rightful owner…..and an invite back in 2018!!

not 1 but 3!!

Beausoleil Island, Port Severn, Ontario~Lost late Grandmother’s 18k white gold engagement ring in waters of Georgian Bay

2017-09-04 Beausoleil Island, Honey Harbour, Port Severn, Ontario

Received a phone call from Zac that his girlfriend Lauren was washing her hair in the water when her dog jumped in and her late Grandmother’s recently gifted to her went flying off her finger. Lauren was devastated!!!

So I made arrangement to come flying up Hwy 400 that day and meet Zac at the boat launch as we were headed to an Island cottage.

Lauren explained the area and I was limited to half of a scuba tank. I started grinding and pulled up some crazy items….large nails, old brass table light switch, some coins and lots of metal. Zac had said to try further over. After an hour he jumped it and used the small Scuba Tector I had brought along while I continued with the Minelab Excallibur 2. I went back to the original location and within 20 minute….B-O-O-M….FOUND Lauren’s late Grand Mother’s engagement ring. WHAT A BEAUTY. 18k WHITE GOLD ….. PRICELESS XO

I secretly hinted to my Daughter to start filming….and then SURPRISED THEM. Lauren shrieked in sheer relief. She was very grateful.

Here’s the video! WARNING…. ONE LOUD SWEAR WORD….LOL

Caledon, Ontario~Lost wedding band at a private retreat~still awaiting it’s owner to pick up

I local girlfriend Sarah had read some of my ring recoveries & returns posted on my Facebook page from The Ring Finders clients.

She asked to see if I could find rings underwater and I advised that I am scuba certified (open water) and have all the gear.

Sarah discussed that a patron of the Private retreat location had lost his wedding band about 4 years ago. She advise that the water is a very cold because it was a spring fed pond.

I gathered up all my gear and scuba tanks. I really love my Minelab Excallibur2 water detector but also brought along a new piece of equipment called the “Scuba Tector”. It’s a small hand held unit for tight locations or rocky/hard to get to spots.

I started at the location of the lost ring and boy was Sarah right….water was freezing the deeper I got. With-in 15 minutes I had a great tone with the Excal2 but due to the low visibility with the sediment I couldn’t locate it. I turned on the Scuba Tector and pulled out the 14k white gold wedding band!! Sarah also mentioned missing Ray Ban sunglasses further over!! I tried for another hour but no luck.

They called the gentleman whom had left his phone # and left a message. The gentleman was now working in Hawaii but was coming back for Canadian Thanksgiving. Unfortunately no update if he’s picked up his ring!!
