I received a call from a very distraught Simona who told me she dropped her Platinum Diamond Ring in the sand in Huntington Beach. She told me it was her Grandmother’s Ring from the 1940’s

I arrived in about twenty minutes and met her on the beach. Simona told me she was visiting from Texas and she showed me the area where the ring was dropped.

I turned on my metal detector and the very first target I heard was promising, I looked down and could see a small sliver of a shiny ring. I showed Simona and she reached down and plucked her ring out of the sand.

I received a call from Eddie asking if I could help find his wedding ring near the Huntington Beach Pier. He told me he was leaving to go have dinner with his family and he would meet me later.

I decided to go early and do some detecting for myself until I realized the sun would be setting soon, so I called Eddie and asked for the location of the loss. I headed over to the spot and within 5 minutes I found his Tungsten wedding ring. It helped that I could see where they were running their fingers through the sand.

When Eddie arrived I met him in the parking lot and handed him my business card and that’s when he saw I was wearing his ring. The look on his face was priceless.

I got to the beach and found Daniel with his friends. He took me over to the area they believed to loss to have occurred, and I readied for my search. they put me right on top of the phone because it took about 45 seconds to find the phone, and then the AirPods. They couldn’t believe how fast the return was made. I was happy to have helped them, although Daniel was a bit camera shy.

Johnathon called for help in finding his wedding ring. He was at work, and walked across a bridge that went into the building when his ring came off and fell into the tall grass below. It was night, but I knew that given the right location I would be able to help him, so I told him I would come right away.

When I got there Johnathon showed me the area he believed the ring fell into, and it was covered with very tall ornamental grass, so I got my detector with a narrow coil to do the search. It took a while hiking up and down the hillside to search, making sure to grid thoroughly. Fortunately the area was clean of metal trash which made the search easier and quicker. I then came upon one big clump of grass, got a good tone, put my pin pointer in, and found his ring. I was able to reunite Johnathon with his ring within 20 minutes of arriving, which allowed him to get back to his job with a happier outlook on the day.

Gerry called asking if I would be available to do a search for him. I said I was, and asked what the problem was. He told me he had been gardening 2 weeks prior, and because of his recent weight loss, his ring of 46 years somehow slipped off in the process. He and his wife had searched over and over with no luck. I let him know that I was on my way, and was happy to help him out.

When I arrived Gerry showed me 5 small trough planters that he had been working in, and a possible hedge row that he thought it might have fallen in. I began with the planters pushing my pin pointer into the soft potting soil to try and get a signal from the ring, but was not able to find it in the planters. I was getting ready to look in the hedge row, when Gerry brought over a trash can lid with some potting soil and dead plant material. I lifted the plants and shook them, and then put my pin pointer into the soil when my pin pointer fired up. There it was, and I held the ring up for Gerry. He looked surprised, and told me he had searched that dirt at least twice. Well I was glad to get this token of love that he had for 46 years back to him.

Diamond Stud Earring Lost in the Sand at Manhattan Beach…Found and Returned

I received a call from Michelle who told me she had lost a diamond stud earring in the sand at the beach that day. It was getting dark, and I asked if she would be able to find the area that it was lost in, as diamond stud earrings are one of the most difficult pieces of jewelry to find because there is such a small amount of metal attached to them., She said she knew exactly where it happened, and I told her that I would leave shortly to do the search.

When I got to the beach Michelle’s husband Austin met me to show the location of the search. In the dark we walked out, and oh boy, when considering a small item like a stud earring the beach looks so vast. Well we got to the area where Michelle had told her husband to look, and very wisely I could see the she had drawn two lines to look between (about 10 feet apart), because she felt it come out of her ear. At my request Austin had brought the matching earring in a Ziplock bag, and I tested my detector on it. I had to be within one inch for the detector to find it, and I was hoping that it did not get buried too deep. I started my search, and was finding some trouble with the black sand which was causing my super sensitive detector to sound off every couple of inches which I would have to check. I worked slowly towards the other end of the area. When I got to the end I got a bit more solid signal, reached down and brushed the sand away when just under about 1/2 inch of sand out pops Michelle’s earring. I thought about how amazing it was to find it on such a large beach in the darkness of the night, and then held it up for Austin. He came over likewise amazed. Well he then told me they were from Colorado, and were going back in a couple of days. He did not want his picture taken, so I stood in for him.

Livi contacted me and asked if I could help find her wedding ring she lost yesterday at a local park while throwing a ball to her dog. She got my info from a friend of hers that had heard about my service.
Livi showed me where she threw the ball and I started my search in the direction of her throw. After a good hour of grid searching with no ring to be found I decided to search the spot where she was standing while throwing the ball. Right away I received a nice tone that was showing very shallow on my depth meter.
Her gold diamond ring was nestled in the grass and the search was over.

Dina contacted me about a phone she had lost the night before at the beach. I asked a lot of questions like where on the sand was it lost knowing this beach is machine groomed by the county daily. When she said it was in the towel line I did not hold much hope for a recovery. She did tell me that it was still showing on the “Find My IPhone” app, and even sent the latest screen shot from the app. She told me she was not able to meet me there because of her job, but told me where to look, and the screen shot gave me a general area as well. I let her know that I would give it a try, and went there to look.

When I got there the area of the search was packed with people, but I began my search anyway weaving in and out trying very hard to not disturb anybody. People would move in and out which helped in covering most of the area. I found a few items, but not the phone. Then I moved up a little more, and got an overpowering signal, put the scoop in, and to my amazement out pops the phone. It had only been covered by about an inch of sand, and had to have been walked on by myriads of people from the time it was lost until I found it. I was surprised that it had not been found seeing it was so shallow, and could have been felt underfoot. Well I was able to get it back to her that night when she got off work, and she was happy for sure.

Matt called saying he had lost his ring at the beach. He said it had just happened about an hour before the call, and he and his friends could not find it. I let him know that I would come right away.

I got to the beach, and had to park about half a mile away, but was able to find Matt. When he showed me the area I could see a lot of sand had been moved, and there was at least one child’s sand sifter that had been used in the process. He was sure where it should be as he had watched it come off of his finger. Well I figured to begin where they had already looked, and went over the whole area without a signal. Then just on the outskirts of where they had searched I got a good signal, dug, and had his ring in the scoop. I was able to give him a bit of relief to not have to go home without his ring, a happy day all around.

It was in the evening when Salma called. She had been at the beach with friends, and when it was late she realized her phone was missing. She and her friends scoured the sand looking for the phone, but were unable to find it, that is when Salma called me. I asked if it was showing on the “Find My IPhone” app, and she said it was.  I let her know that I was available, and would come right away.

When I got to the beach Salma met me, and took me out to where the phone was lost. They we very smart in that they marked the area they thought the loss occurred, because judging things in the dark can be very difficult. I began the search where they had made the mark coming up with the usual trash metal, bottle caps, tin foil, pull tabs, etc. but no phone. I covered all the area with no luck, but they were sure it should be there. I let them know that I was going to expand my search, and they reluctantly agreed that would be good. Then about 15 feet from their original area I received a very strong signal, dug, and found the phone. I reached down, grabbed it, and then held it up for them. Salma came over very excited to have her phone back, but did not want her photo taken, so I asked Peter her friend if he would pose with the phone which he agreed to. It was a very warm and HUMID night that night, and I was glad to be going home after that search. All in all, a very good night.
