Platinum Band Reflection of Leighton & Rick in band

Platinum Band in Hand

Leighton ,Charles, & Rick

As Rick Browne (Ring Finder) and I were about to walk down on the beach, I got a call from Charles out of  Cape Cod, saying he didn’t want to call so early 6:30 am, but was in dire straights after losing his wedding band yesterday evening on the beach. I e-mailed him with my cell number ASAP. He then called, and I told him I would be there in less than two hours, to bare with us, as we were out on a beach searching for another ring at the moment. After finding and returning the first ring of the morning, Rick and I were off to meet Charles. He mentioned that there were quite a few people helping yesterday to find his Platinum Band to no avail… as we all walked down to the beach he had already marked off an area with beach chairs, but reminded us that he wasn’t sure if it was even there. It might be in the water too… Well first past got myself a dime… and second pass I asked Charles to come over here for a moment and to look into my scoop, and did the ring I just scooped up looked familiar ? He couldn’t believe it was there staring back at him… Less than 3 minutes into it, and a happy reunion… He later told us on the way back that its his Anniversary in Dec. and that the ring is under a year old… P.S. Charles please get that ring resized it’s a big big… Rick & I are glad to have been able to help you out today… Thank You for calling The Ring Finders today… Leighton

Wedding Band (Football Game)Dennis, Cape Cod Mass.

Rick Browne from the Ring Finders gave me a call late last night, and asked if I wanted to jump in on a ring find that was lost earlier in the day. Of course I said, what time, where, and can we go rite now? He laughed, and said let’s do it very early in the morning before the crowd shows up. I agreed… So in the early morning darkness, I was off and got to his house before he even opened up his garage door. Loaded up and off we went. When we got to the beach, Jay had not showed up there yet.  As we hung for a few minutes, Rick said lets go and see if we can get it before he gets here… We marked out the area that Jay had drawn out on the mapped area, where he new it flew from his finger when playing football the day before… Rick started to grid one way, and I the other… I literally took two swings and got a signal, stopped, and dug the ring… I looked over to Rick and said OK lets go… He laughed and said what a team… Ring in scoop and plenty of time to play till Jay and his daughter showed up… Rick met up with him before myself and gave him the great news… It’s so rewarding to hand back an item thought to be lost forever… P.S. Get that ring sized…    LOL

Lost White Wedding Band Mayflower Beach Dennis Cape Cod Sentimental

Rick Browne of The Ring Finders gave me a call and asked if I wanted to help find a Wedding Band. I said sure where and when? He replied, rite now, and at my house. I jumped in the truck ready and raring to go. Forty Five minutes later we met Gordon at his summer place on Cape Cod, along with his wife Meghan and the kids, then off to find the “RING”,  after a few blocks down to the beach, people asking what we were doing one woman said prayers to St Anthony to help us. Off we went way out into the water, I asked Gordon to stand exactly where he thought he lost it… Rick grid worked one direction, and I the other to form a square pattern… To no avail, his sister was out standing in a spot where she had paced off the day before, and said she thought it to be where she was. Again we grid worked the area, and to no avail. I noticed that Meghan was walking out into the water, and as she approached, I noticed her stop in her tracks and said to Gordon, I think it was rite here. Of course I went over to her, and as I went close to her feet I had what I thought was a false signal, as sometimes that can happen in the water… as she went over to Gordon to talk it over again, I turned and got another signal rite where I thought the false signal was, and once I realized it was a low growl tone, and the only signal of the entire search, I just knew it had to be the ring. One scoop down, and sure enough it was in the scoop … I told Meghan to come back exactly where she was standing and to look into my scoop, she could not believe we had recovered the ring… Its such a rewarding feeling to return such a precious item… Back onto the ring finger of Gordon. I told him to get it sized it was way to loose for him… I think he has that on the agenda soon.

Lost a ring? Don’t wait to call! 215-850-0188 Nicole lost her engagement ring in the sand in Cape May, New Jersey. The ring fell out of the cup holder in her chair. After she realized it was missing, she searched the area but could not find it. Then she reached out to fellow Ringfinder Jeff Laag who was unavailable at the moment, so he referred her to me. I searched a quick grid pattern and the ring was recovered.

Chris lost his platinum wedding band trying to catch a ball in ankle-deep water today.   I received a call from fellow Ringfinder Jeff Laag who gave me Anouska’s phone number so I could get the details for the recovery.  I started a search of the wet sand shortly after I arrived, and the ring was found on the slope.  It was Chris’ and his family’s first day of vacation in Ocean City, New Jersey-it can now be a relaxing one!

Abe wrote “I called John ( From Ring Finders) at 4 pm on a Saturday August 18th and he was at Ocean City NJ 16th Street beach at 6 pm. I had lost my wedding ring in the sand while consulting with the ice cream man for a bottle of water. John found the ring within an hour! He gave me a time to meet and was absolutely punctual about the time, even called me to say he was parking. John treated the situation as if it were his own family member who had lost the ring and assured me if the ring was in the sand he would find it. What a relief! Do not hesitate to call him, he is surely the best at what he does!”

If you lost something I recommend that you call right away!

The better the chances of finding the lost item!

Gold band on volleyball sand court

Contact:

About the end of last summer here in Rio de Janeiro I got a call from a man who had lost his heavy gold wedding band while playing volleyball on the sand court in the condo where he lives.

When I got there he told me when he hit the ball he saw the band fly from his finger and land a few steps in front of him in the direction of the net.  He had spent at least two hours looking for it with  a couple of friends with no result.  I told him I understood but I would  start the search behind the place he said he was standing when he lost it.  On my very first swing I got a solid signal but I thought It was a big coin but actually it was his wedding band.  He got really excited about it because, as he told me, he didn’t really believe  he would have his band back. The interesting thing about this search though is that that was the first time I was using my brand new Tesoro Sand Shark metal detector and on its  first swing  it found gold.

Hi Leighton,

Thank you again!! I’m so happy to have my ring back.

Yesterday a few of my friends and I took our annual beach trip with our four year olds to the beach in my town. Before we left, I stashed my engagement and wedding rings in a Ziploc bag while I put some sunblock on my daughter. I forgot all about them until I pulled something out of the bag for the third or so time since we arrived at the beach and noticed that I didn’t see my wedding band. My heart dropped. While one friend took our kids to get ice cream, another friend and I frantically searched both the first spot where we’d set our things down (which was now nearly underwater) and the spot where we’d landed after our exodus. Knowing that I wouldn’t have much time to devote to the search, I did my best to remember the spot we were in, though I pretty much gave up hope that I’d ever see my ring again.
On a whim later that night, I consulted Google with a query of “lost wedding band on beach” and the first site that popped up was theringfinders.com. I searched for ring finders in my area, emailed Leighton first thing the next morning and had a response from him within the hour. After speaking to him on the phone, we decided to meet at the beach in a little over an hour, and I headed home from work. When we met, Leighton was realistic but upbeat, and said that if he found the ring, he would be on a good role for the week.
Using location data from a geotagged photo we took at the beach, we tried to isolate the first spot where I thought I might have lost it, and despite nearly two hours, a lot of ground covered, and a lot of hopes dashed every time we located a bottle cap, pull tabs, and broken aluminum can tops, we moved up to the second spot. Here, I had a better idea of where it could have been but less hope that it would be there, and I kept expecting Leighton to give up. But he kept at it, In what felt like no time at all, he heard something promising, called me over to see what he may uncover, he was certain this could be the ring, and there it was! Staring up at the both of us, It was easily one of the best moments of disbelief I’ve ever felt, and I frankly still can’t believe he found it. Thank you, Leighton, for your responsiveness, diligence and positive attitude! In less than 24 hours I had my ring back on my finger. I’m so happy I didn’t break his streak!

Lost Platinum Diamond Set Sandwich Beach Cape Cod, Mass

2016-07-24 close up on detector

On Sunday Morning 7/23/2016 I received an E Mail from Beth, She had briefly said that she was at our local beach on Cape Cod and lost her wedding band… She wanted to know if I could help somehow… I called her back and said that time was of the essence. She then proceeded to tell me that actually it was both rings one being her Diamond and the other was her wedding band… I asked the usual questions but one answer I didn’t want to hear was that they had been lost for a few days already and they were leaving in a day or two for Arizona… I jumped into my truck and met them at the beach… It was around 90 degrees and extremely humid… I made a grid pattern as usual but for over an hour nothing… I asked them to re group and give me their best guess as to where they may have thought they were sitting at the time… Five minutes later I had the Platinum Wedding Band in my hand, they couldn’t believe it… I took a few pictures and told them lets get the bigger one now… ten feet away and 15 minutes later there it was on top of the sand… Wow what a beautiful Platinum set of rings… I must say I am happy to have been a part of the Return… Beth and her Husband Thad are going to wright up a little something about how they found me in the Ring Finders Directory… Stay Tuned… Here i.es the follow up from Beth West from Arizona after the ring set return…

I had the opportunity to meet Leighton Harrington on July 24, 2016. My husband, son, daughter and I were enjoying a vacation on the east coast, and arrived on Cape Cod on July 21st. We went to the beach the day after we arrived. At some point, I took both my wedding and engagement rings off and set them in my lap as I applied sunscreen. I was having a conversation with my 13-year-old daughter, got distracted, and we both popped up to go walk along the shore. Forgetting my rings were in my lap, they both fell deep into the sand without my knowledge.
It was later that evening that I realized that I didn’t know where my rings were. After 18 years of marriage, it was a really odd sensation to look down at my left hand and not see them there. I still wasn’t 100% sure that I had left them at the beach. I thought perhaps I had lost them in the rental house we were staying at. I searched high and low in the house for two days and couldn’t find them. Finally, I remembered taking them off at the beach and was sure they were probably lost forever.
That night, I Googled “Cape Cod Lost Wedding Ring” and found the http://www.theringfinders.com website. I sent an email to Leighton. I never expected to hear back from him. But lo and behold, he called me early the next morning and asked if my husband and I could meet him at the beach where I lost my rings. After about an hour of searching in the hot sun, I was ready to throw in the towel. But Leighton refused to give up, and eventually he was able to recover both of my rings!
I am so grateful to Leighton for his persistence and positive attitude. He is one of the nicest guys I’ve met in a really long time. And I’m absolutely thrilled to have my rings back. Now every time I look down at my left hand, I’m beyond grateful that we were able to find them. I can’t thank him enough.
