River gold & palladium… Wedding band lost in South Surrey river.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got a call from a young man Friday evening and the call kinda went like this…I found you on TheRingFinders.com and my friend lost his wedding band while taking wedding photo’s at a river in South Surrey…Do you think you can help?

I said sure thing and we discussed the time and day we’d go look for it. I was hoping we could take a look on Saturday but they would still be celebrating their big day.

That was good because I had a search for a 3 carat diamond ring that was dropped out of an apartment building 44 floors up ($5000 reward) unfortunately there was only about a 5% chance of finding that ring because it was a concrete jungle all around the area it was dropped.

I met up this afternoon with Sunny and his friend Sandy and they showed me where the ring was lost…I was surprised to see that it was lost off a dock! I thought it was close to the shore. Fortunately the tide was low and I was able to get into the water very close to the ring.

I received a good signal 6 feet or so under the dock and it was hard to try and dig the target so what I did was scoop towards me and after 10 minutes I found his beautiful ring!!!

I told him I was going to get out of the water and get another metal detector from my car,  but instead I presented him with his ring! I love the reactions!

Lost Platinum, Gold & Diamonds Wedding Ring at Bellows Air Force Station…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find started when I got a call from Nicolas who is a CAPT in the US Army. While enjoying the day at the beach his wife Ashley put her Wedding ring in the pocket of their sunshade for safe keeping. When the day was over Nicolas shook the sand off the sunshade and started back to their campsite. Ashley realized she had left the ring in the sunshade pocket so they went back to the beach to see if they could find the ring. They searched methodically in the sand but no luck finding the ring. The next day Nicolas originally wanted to rent a detector and I convinced him it would be easier if I just came down and looked for them. I loaded my gear and we decided to meet in an hour at Bellow AFS. We met outside the gate and drove to their campsite. We then grabbed the gear and headed down to the beach. Fortunately although the beach was relatively crowded the area they were in was open. I surveyed the area then started my grid search. First & second target were sandy Lincoln cents, then a bottle cap. About 5 minutes into the search I got a great tone and because of the solitaire diamond I took a gentle scoop and poured it on the ground. I grabbed my pin-pointer and made a spiral search in the sand pile. That’s when the stunning ring exposed itself. I picked it up and handed it to Ashley. She was overcome with joy and said, “Thank you so much your my hero”. An applause rang out from all the nearby beach goers. I love this hobby! Aloha to Ashley & Nicolas!

Wedding Ring Lost in the grass at the University of Houston Campus-Sugar Land

I was contacted by Thomas regarding his lost wedding ring at the University of Houston College campus in Sugar Land. Thomas said he had exited the school’s library and was walking back to his car when he lost his ring. Thomas indicated he had reached into his pocket to pull out his keys, and in the process his ring was pulled off his finger and landed some where in the grass.

Check out the video to see the recovery of Thomas’ wedding ring.

Gold Cross Found and Returned in Lincoln, RI

  • from Charlestown (Rhode Island, United States)
Contact:

A week ago, while vacationing on Cape Cod, I received a call from Leslie asking for my help.  Her mom, Phyllis, recently lost a gold cross in her backyard when the chain broke and was very upset over the loss.  The cross was a gift from her late husband, so it held special meaning to her.  As soon as I returned from vacation, I went to search for the item.  After approximately two hours of searching the yard and a compost bin, and using two different metal detectors, I located the cross in the lawn.  Phyllis is thrilled to have this precious item back with her!

Lost Wedding Band in Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

Ko Lag 4 Ed
Ko Lag 4 Ed ring
This ring find began while I was in Ulua Lagoon hunting for a set of lost keys and a gentleman named Andy told me his friend Ed from Sacramento, California just lost his Wedding Band in the water as he was coming ashore from snorkeling. I told him I’d follow him over to the spot. Unfortunately there were a dozen kids playing in the knee deep water where the ring came off. Ed helped me mark out a grid and said the band was a Comfort Fit Titanium ring. After starting my in and out grid search I got a screaming target and there was a ring. I asked Ed is this yours? He looked at it rather hesitantly and said “No” with a look of bewilderment on his face. I said see your not the only one that has lost a ring recently. I said, “Don’t worry” and continued my grid search. I found several coins and a Matchbox car but no more rings. I talked it over with Ed to make sure I had covered the correct area and he assured me that I had. I thought maybe because so many kids were playing in the area that maybe as I was trying to avoid them yet cover the area I missed the ring. I told Ed let me try a search parallel to the shore and thankfully one of the Moms saw what I was trying to do and came down and got all the kids out of the grid. Two minutes later I got another screamer and there was a Tungsten ring in the scoop. “That’s it” Ed said with a sigh of relief. This is Tungsten not Titanium. Oh I guess your right but that’s the ring. I’m positive it was and Ed was so thrilled it was found. Now he wouldn’t have to explain to his wife how he lost his ring in knee deep water on their vacation. Aloha to Ed!

Lost ring found at The Silver Strand State Beach

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Emily left a message on my answer machine, my voice mail, e-mail, and texted my phone about her engagement ring lost in the sand at the Silver Strand. I figured she must want it back! 🙂 We made arrangements to meet at the scene in a couple of hours so they could show me the search area. When I arrived, I got the story on how it was lost. She had caught a football and the ring popped off her finger. She immediately dropped to her knees and started sifting through the sand, but, couldn’t find it. She was joined by the rest of her group, but, the same result….no ring. Now, several days later, my concern was that someone else might have found it. There is a campground at the other end of the beach and many campers like to detect too. The good part was that they were in a less used area in front of the parking lot normally closed off during the week. She remembered where she was when she caught the ball, so, I started there and spiraled out from that point. I was finding a few good coin targets, so, I figured that nobody had beat me to the spot and gridded the area. After almost and hour and many promising foil targets, I got another weak foil signal and a couple of scoops later, saw a beautiful white gold engagement ring in my scoop. Needless to say, Emily was overjoyed to get it back and amazed that I found it, and that it was so far from where she had caught the ball.  That’s the way the ring bounces sometimes! A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the reward.100_1482 100_1483

Third ring found and returned in Harwich, Cape Cod, MA this week!

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

The difference in the meaning of “DEEP” water is relative to one’s height.

Mike’s loss was not noticed at once so my search area was within 3 areas and the path between them. A Google photo with the marked area and the fact he was playing with his kids my search plan was set. I started at low tide, and worked up the beach’s slope. The water was heavy with seaweed and I could search that area when the tide came in. After 2½ hours I was searching in the water but had little hope as I would be underwater at high tide and Mike was not when he lost his ring. Little did I know Mike stands well over 6’ tall and his head would still be above water long after I would have needed a long snorkel to stand next to him. I have dreamed of being that tall while detecting in deep water. Back to the search…I found the ring a half hour after entering the water within 10 feet of the center of the most likely area as identified by Mike on his area photo. If I only knew and there was not the floating seaweed, I may have found the ring in less time. Mike came to my home to pick up his ring of almost 13 years. What a personality, I knew I was in for an exciting talk form a very energetic man after only a few minutes on the phone with Mike. It was a memorable pleasure meeting Mike, his enthusiastic smile and returning his ring.

Katrina called last evening ask me if I could help her find her lost white diamond engagement ring! which she just lost while playing volleyball in the sand court told her I would be down within 30 minutes, when I arrived at the court I see her friends on their hands and knees searching for the ring with no luck in finding the ring.

I did a couple of grid search with my V3i with 4×6 Eclipse Shooter Coil with no luck Knowing that the ring had to be in the area I went back to the truck and got my AT pro with standard coil and with in 10 minute found her ring I could tell by the smile Katrina was one happy young lady to have her ring back on her finger.

Thank you Katrina for the generous reward.

Another Happy Client.
