  Alex lost his new iPhone 15 in the dry sand at Huntington City Beach, CA. It was late at night when the phone went missing . He was at the location first thing the location the first thing the next morning. His phone was showing up on the find my phone app and it still had 20% battery life.

He called me for help after he and his friend spent a couple hours walking the area and his phone was not visible. I have a lot of faith in the find me app, so I said I’d be there in a half hour.

This search got crazy. Two hours into the search, Alex told me he had to leave. I got obsessed with this search because it was still showing up on his father’s computer and it still had 10% battery. It was a matter that I had to find out how far off the coordinates were. Two more hours I finally found his phone. It was actually maybe 40 ft from where we started,in an area he said he never went that far up the beach.

The phone had been run over by a tractor or a lifeguard patrol vehicle. The case was bent and it still was powered up. I learned a lot and Alex said he believed his insurance would pay to replace the phone.

Successful Search for Gold Chain Lost in the Sand at Huntington City Beach, CA.

 I was at Huntington City Beach on a call out. While on that search for a cellphone on a massive area of the dry sand, Dave came off the beach to ask me if I had found a gold necklace. He had lost last night and had been searching for it since 6am.

He told me that he had wrapped his gold necklace in shirt laying it on the beach, while he took a dip in the surf. He picked up his shirt and realized the chain was missing after he returned home.

He was walking off the beach assuming that the chain was gone forever. I told him I could give the area quick search if he could walk me to the general area. The location was just a couple hundred feet from where I was, so I walked over to give it a quick scan. BOOM !! Dave’s gold necklace found.

Hailee called me asking for help find her husband’s gold wedding ring. They were at Salt Creek Beach, Dana Point, CA. While throwing a football at high tide in ankle deep water his ring slipped off his finger into the surf, disappearing immediately .

After discussing what had happened and it had been the day before calling me. I determined it was possible to find it at the next low tide. Hailee was not able to meet me at the location which was not a problem. She sent me photos with good land marks in the background.

The next low tide I was at the location and the ring showed up almost exactly where she described the spot.

She picked the ring up later that evening with the intention of surprising her husband that night. Awesome recovery and a very nice lady.

Venessa and Heather’s family were vacationing at Sunset Beach, Orange County, CA. They were staying for a week in a beach front rental. The first evening of their stay Heather’s husband lost his celphone that had his credit cards in the case.

Venessa called me asking for help the next morning.  They had videos that showed the iPhone in his back pocket ready to dislodge from his pocket.

The most likely spot didn’t reveal the phone. No problem, he was positive of the limits of his actions that night. Maybe a third of a football field. Could take a little time but I knew it would show up if it had not been picked up. The area did not have much foot traffic, so I wasn’t worried about that.

It did take an hour and a half but it could have been quicker if I started from the left instead of starting on the right side of the zone. Vacation saved ! It was my pleasure to be available to help them.

Jake lives a couple blocks from the beach at Playa Del Rey, one of the Los Angeles County beaches. He often does a sunset swim in the ocean. He called me after losing a special necklace with a pendant in the dry sand.

It seemed he had taken off his necklace laying it with his t-shirt and towel at shoreline.

He called me at 10:30 pm asking for help. It sounded like a search I could do the next morning but he was anxious to do it that night.

I met him at 11:30pm and we had the cherished necklace and pendant shortly after starting the search.

*** Brad and his young daughter had spent the day at Manhatten Beach, one of the Los Angeles county beaches. At sunset they were walking off the beach when he felt his platinum wedding ring slip off his finger disappearing in the soft sand.

It was cold and getting dark, so Brad decided not to waste time searching the dry sand. He went to the internet for professional help. He contacted me and I told him I could leave right now to meet him at the location.

*** I was in my car returning from another ring recovery when Zoë called me. I’m glad it was not a text because I can’t read texts while driving. My Bluetooth in my car makes it safe to answer calls.

ZOE said she and her husband were at Salt Creek Beach, where they just lost her husband’s platinum ring in the sand. I told them I was on the road with my metal detecting gear and could be there as soon as possible. If they could wait? We should be able to find the ring in a short period of time. If they had other commitments ? I would like the to mark the area, take a few photos of the general location and use their smart phone to drop a pin on their maps app.

They were able to stay even though it started to rain. A few minutes after arriving, it stopped raining and I was able to find the platinum ring. *** Nolan had been with friends at Playa del Rey, one of the Los Angeles county beaches. They had met there to play volleyball in the sand. He took off his gold ring, putting in his street shoes along with  his other belongings.

After the game he went over to the sidewalk where he put on his shoes. That’s when he remembered his ring and it wasn’t in the shoe. Several hours of searching the sand proved to be frustrating and unsuccessful for he and his friends.

His friends did  suggest that he get someone with a metal detector to help. After finding my information online. We made arrangements to meet at the location. Within in an hour after our call, I was able to find Nolan’s ring. That included the drive and parking. *** I was at my favorite taco shop having lunch when Eric called asking for help to find a pair of expensive prescription sunglasses. My first question was, where are you? He told me Malibu Farms Resturant. I thought it would be located in Malibu. I told him could not drive that far as I had another appointment this afternoon.

He called me back saying the Malibu Farms Lido is located in Newport Beach, CA. near Lido Island. I was two miles from his location, so met him a few minutes later. He told me he set his sunglasses on his dockside table. A few minutes later he knock the glasses off his table into the water..  I wasn’t sure what the conditions were or how deep the water was.

When I got to the floating dock. I had difficulty seeing the bottom because of the reflections and glare on the surface. I did know the tide was falling but the bottom was still too deep to retrieve anything without getting in the water.

I took time to go back to my car for my sand scoop which is about 5 ft. long. Meanwhile the tide is receding about one foot an hour.  By the time I returned the bottom was only 3 feet deep. I could see the sunglasses. I did not use the scoop to retrieve the glasses for fear I would damage them. There was a random stick floating nearby and that’s what was used to get the glasses out of the water. We were lucky to have the tides working in our favor. When the glasses were dropped it was close to 7 ft. deep. The water level dropped about 4 ft. saving the trouble of diving for the loss item.

Eric was very happy to get his favorite glasses back. He told me a lady at the resturant gave him my contact information.   I had found two rings lost at a park in the lake four years ago.

Lost Silver Pendant Found in the Grass .. Costa Mesa, CA.

*** This was a recovery back in January 2024 .. Gary had hung his Silver Pendant on his Christmas tree. As in remembrance of his grandmother who had passed away. She had given this to him years ago.

After the holidays were over Gary took the covering the base of the Christmas tree outside to shake off the pine needles. The next day he realized he had not  removed the Silver pendant from the tree. After checking the tree that had been in the trash, the pendant was not to be found. He suspected that it could have been in the floor covering and could possibly be in his front yard.

He called me instead of renting or buying a metal detector. I met him that same morning and it didn’t take long to find the silver pendant. It was definitely deep in the grass and not visible.

I could see right away that this small silver pendant meant the world to him. It was a pleasure to be available to help Gary.
