Alex lost his new iPhone 15 in the dry sand at Huntington City Beach, CA. It was late at night when the phone went missing . He was at the location first thing the location the first thing the next morning. His phone was showing up on the find my phone app and it still had 20% battery life.

He called me for help after he and his friend spent a couple hours walking the area and his phone was not visible. I have a lot of faith in the find me app, so I said I’d be there in a half hour.

This search got crazy. Two hours into the search, Alex told me he had to leave. I got obsessed with this search because it was still showing up on his father’s computer and it still had 10% battery. It was a matter that I had to find out how far off the coordinates were. Two more hours I finally found his phone. It was actually maybe 40 ft from where we started,in an area he said he never went that far up the beach.

The phone had been run over by a tractor or a lifeguard patrol vehicle. The case was bent and it still was powered up. I learned a lot and Alex said he believed his insurance would pay to replace the phone.

Lost iPhone in Sand .. Newport Beach, CA. .. Found with Metal Detector

Chloe and her friends spent 3 hours searching the soft dry sand for her iPhone at Tower 22 in Newport Beach, CA. . Even though thay had activated the Find My IPhone app, the phone had stayed hidden below the sand.

One of Chloe’s friends found my contact information online. When I received the call, I was in my car with my metal detectors a couple miles away from them. The parking lot was full but just as I got to their location a space was open within 25 yards of where they were waiting for me.

The sun was setting and it was beginning to get cold. I started a grid search using my XP Deus metal detector. The phone was found within a few minutes probably 15 to 20ft south of the GPS location. Chloe was ecstatic and very grateful to have her phone back in her hands. All of her friends were also excited about the find after all the energy they burned up trying to find the phone. The smile tells it all.

Lost IPhone in Sand .. Long Beach, CA. .. Found

Lindsey had been on the beach the night before calling me. She and her friends were sitting in the sand enjoying the sunset and adult beverages. As they walked back off the beach, Lindsey realized that she was missing her IPhone 6+. It was dark and they couldn’t find it that night.
The next morning she borrowed her Mother’s phone which she set up the “Find My Phone App” .. After four hours of frustration she found my contact number after searching online for a metal detector and called me.
It was about a 20 mile drive that took about 45 minutes. We stayed in contact via cellphone. Lindsey was sitting on the beach worried about the possibility of losing all the information she had on her phone. We decided to not trust the GPS coordinates that didn’t seem to work for her. I grid searched the location where they had sat the night before. Then the place the app had directed her. Searched north of the location about 40 feet. She was positive that they had not been south of that spot.
Here is how it works. I told Lindsey that I wouldn’t be satisfied until I did a few more lines of my grid to the south. Yes!! About 25 ft. into the location where she said they had not been. One IPhone 6 that was not lost anymore. It happens more than I want to believe. Successful searches happen when you search just outside the box. If I ever search for a iPhone using the Find My iPhone app, I will start at the pinpoint coordinates and spiral out with my grid pattern.
Lindsey was a happy to have her phone back, but she had gone through a lot of emotional ups and downs that day. Especially when we were running out of location she had remembered she had been.

Lost Iphone in Sand .. Three Arch Bay, Laguna Beach, CA. .. Found

imageGlen called me late in the evening Mother’s Day. His wife, Hey had lost her celphone in the sand the night before. Because she had “the find my phone” application on her phone, GPS signal indicated it was in the sand near the fire pit. After spending most the day searching in the sand by hand and rakes it was getting dark. The battery on the phone had died and they were about to give up.
Glen found TheRingFinders.com while doing a Google search for metal detectors. After calling me I was able to meet them at Three Arch Bay which is a gated community with a private beach. My first time visiting this beach. It’s a beautiful beach even at night with a long set of steps down the cliff to the beach.
After meeting Hey, I could see she was tired and frustrated. They had built a fire in the firepit. So it was kind of a picturesque place to do a search. It took awhile, maybe 15 minutes to find the phone because it was 20 feet away from the location they gave me. I was careful not to dig aggressively as it would not be professional to break the Celphone.
It was great to see how happy Hey was and to know that her Mother’s Day ended in a positive way. I asked them to tell their neighbors and friends about our service.
