Lost Dental Retainer Returned.

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

My strangest Find on the Beach in Kelowna has to a youths Dental retainer. The retainer had a name embossed inside the resin. I checked the names in the local phone book, and started calling. The very first name I called I told them who I was an why I was calling. The lady on the other end was so excited and couldnt believe her luck. Her sons retainer was placed on the beach towel while he went for a swim. When leaving the beach, they forgot about the retainer and just grabbed the towel. They went back later and searched but could not find it. The following morning was when I detected the beach and found the unusual item. They tell me the wires in the retainers are platinum, sounds expensive to replace. Another happy customer.

Lost White Gold Ring at Cocoa Beach, Florida….FOUND!!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

Early Monday morning I received an e-mail from Chris stating that his girlfriend had lost a small gold ring at Cocoa Beach late Sunday afternoon. As they were leaving the beach they realized their bag had a hole in it and the ring had slipped out. They spent an hour looking in the sand but were not able to find the ring. That night Chris went online to look for information on recovering lost jewelery and came across my name at theringfinders web site.

Later Monday morning I was able to talk to Chris and we set up a time to meet up half way and drive to the exact location. It was an absolutely beautiful spring day in the low 80’s with a cool breeze coming off the pristine Atlantic Ocean!

Chris showed me right where they had put their bag and the two paths on which they had walked to and from the car. (He also had lost a single car key that later on as we were searching the sand Chris was able to spot by eye and we were only 15 minutes into the search!)

I found the usual junk items in the sand–bottle caps and a few pull tabs along with a cool little hot wheels car–but no ring! I then decided to widen my search along one of the path ways and got a small signal that was barely audible and as I kicked the sand away to reveal the item— there was a small silver part of a band showing in the sand!!

It was such a thrill to be able to hand Chris his girlfriend’s precious ring and to see the joy it brought him!

And now what was lost has been found!!

Lost Diamond Ring in South West Vancouver… Blog & Video

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Tonight I received a call from a young lady who lost a very special ring, it was her diamond ring and she was heart broken that it was lost.

I was told by Jen that the ring came off when she was feeding crows from her patio, on the 4th floor of their apartment.  When she was throwing the food to the crows her ring came off,  she feared it may have landed on the apartment roof  next door.

We did a few test throws with a ring I gave her,  this  gives me the general direction and I started my search. Within 15 minutes I got a great signal that fell into the gold reading on my Whites XLT metal detector.

I moved some leafs and snow and saw the glint of white gold, I bent down to take a closer look and I could see the ring that was stuck into the ground, as it was walked on for sure by Jen and her boyfriend who had spent many hours with a rented metal detector, but had no luck finding the ring.

I was very happy to have found the ring for Jen, Its nice to know its back where it belongs.  It was nice meeting you Jen & Ryan! Thank you for generous reward Jen!

I love my job!

Thanks for reading my story!

Lost… 3 Platinum Rings at Chesterman Beach Vancouver Island…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call from the Concierge at the Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino, Vancouver Island.  He asked if I could help search for 3 platinum rings that were tossed into the ocean at Chesterman Beach, beside their inn.

He tells me that 3 days past from the time the young lady from London England tossed her rings into the ocean.  He helped the couple by getting them a metal detector so they could search the next morning for the rings.

The coupled searched most of the day but had no luck in finding the rings.  They were leaving the next day to New York, they would leave Tofino broken hearted!

After the couple left to New York,  the Concierge (Damien) began to search the internet to see if he could locate someone to help find those 3 lost rings.

This is where I come into play,  he finds TheRingFinders.com online, he tells me the story of the lady and her lost rings. I know I have to act fast as the waves on that beach can get very big in the winter time and that could pound the rings deep into the sand, beyond the reach of a detector.

My wife who hasn’t picked up a detector since we were hunting in the UK (Spoiled) many years ago, wanted to come and help. This was great because she could help grid search and we could knock it out fast,  we needed to because of the tides.

Close to 4 hours and only a couple of  trash targets I got a good signal.  I dug down with my sand scoop and placed the lump of sand on the beach and with my headlight I could see the sparkle of diamonds!

I found the platinum diamond engagement ring! I yelled out to Beverley and she came running, we were so happy and we called Trish in New York to tell them the good news.

We regained our composure and Beverley started to do a corkscrew grid search where I found the ring and within minutes she got a signal 5 yards away and scooped up the platinum wedding band…

This was the tough one because it was so small and thin and it was already 4-5 inches down,  good find by Beverley!

Well we were excited and hopeful that we would find the 3rd ring and within 5 minutes and about 15 yards away I found the Aquamarine platinum ring…

We were so happy to find all 3 rings and excited to email the pictures of our discovery to Trish & James.  We got a call early the next morning and Trish & James were happy, happy!

Things happen in our lives that make us do funny things that we regret… That being said the rings have more memories now and the last memory was how good it felt to get them back!

We started back to Vancouver and as luck would have it we got stuck in traffic for hours due to snow storms and white outs.  We did make it to the ferry and dropped the rings off to Trish’s friends in West Vancouver who will be going to London in a weeks time…

Beverley and I had a great time on this search and the Hero in all of this , in our opinion,  is the Concierge at the Wickaninnish Inn (Damien) Because if he hadn’t found The Ring Finders Directory, the rings would be lost forever!

I love my job! I Love my Wife!

Gold wedding ring found in Carlsbad

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

My First gig as a member of The Ring Finders started with a call from a man named Gama, who lost his wedding ring in some straw.

He was setting up a stage inside a large tent where a school play was to take place when his ring came off while spreading the straw around. Though he and his co-workers looked for it, it was the proverbial needle (ring) in a haystack.

I arrived at the school before Gama but was able to talk to one of his co-workers who knew the general area in which the ring was lost. After a few minutes and only one junk target I received a solid “gold ring” sound and found it just under the surface.

I headed back to my truck and waited for Gama to arrive, after a few minutes the co-worker saw me sitting in my truck and came over to see why. I showed him that I found the ring and he couldn’t believe I found it so quickly.

Phone calls were made which kinda ruined the surprised but a happy Gama was the result none the less.

Here’s the wayward circle…

Lost Gold Diamond Ring, Stanley Park, Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I was just sitting down to dinner when I got a phone call from a man who needed my help.

He tells me that he lost a very special ring that his girlfriend gave him 10 years ago.

He was in a wedding party and some time during the day and a few drinks his ring had slipped off his finger.

The problem with these kind of searches is that it’s a needle in a haystack.

The only places he thought the ring might be was at Stanley Park in Vancouver where they took photos or at the church outside where they had the wedding.

Dano had a good feeling and decided to start at Stanley Park, I met him and his girlfriend there to start the search. When I get a search like this I have them show me the area then I grid search until I find the ring or I feel comfortable that its not there and move to the next location.

10 minutes into the search I get a great signal and I kick the grass and see a gold ring looking back up at me!

I call Dano over to ask him a few questions about the location while I turn on my flip video camera… The rest is on the video below!

I have to say that it was our lucky day as a search like that could take many, many hours. I was just as happy as Dano!!

Lost White Gold Wedding Band…2nd Beach, Stanley Park, Vancouver…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I just got home from the United States where I was helping one of our members from The Ring Finders on a big search that I will be writing about soon.

As I was getting close to home I received a call from a young man who had just lost his white gold wedding band. It was lost at 3rd beach at Stanley Park, Vancouver.

After talking to Mike, the young man who lost his ring, we decided to meet at 2 AM at low tide so that he could show me the area where his ring was lost.

I think he was surprised that I wanted to meet him at such a time but the only chance we had was at low tide.

So when I met Mike he showed me the area the ring was lost at, the water was waste deep and he felt that I was in the right area.

He told me that the ring was made from his wife’s great grandmother’s rings and that it could never be replaced.

Mike stayed for 45 minutes then he said he was getting tired and would wait to hear from me in the morning to weather or not I found his ring.

Less then 15 minutes after Mike left for home I got a good signal, I scooped the sand and there in my scoop was his white gold wedding band…

I called him right away as I knew that he’d still be up and he was very happy to get the news!

I love my job!

Lost Platinum Wedding Band 2nd Beach, Stanley Park, Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call late afternoon from a young man who had just lost his Platinum wedding ring. It was lost at 3rd beach at Stanley Park, Vancouver and the tide was coming in fast.

I jumped into my car and drove there and it took me 20 minutes to find parking! When I met Mike he showed me the area that he lost his ring and I started my grid search.

I met the lifeguard who said that I was in the wrong area as the tide had come in and it would be well over my head. I continued searching in hope that the ring was lost closer to shore, no such luck.

Sometimes you can’t find what your looking for and I knew that Mike was sad but I told him that I’d come back for low tide at 3 AM.

When I arrived back at the beach at 2:30 AM the tide was way out, I began my grid search and after one hour I found his platinum wedding band with a dragon on the outside and inscription on the inside.

I e-mailed Mike the good news and a picture of his ring and now its back on his finger.

I love my job!
