Doug called me yesterday afternoon asking if I could help him find his wife’s  engagement ring which he lost while he was walking with his children yesterday morning, while visiting at a friends house, I told Doug I could meet him within the hour.

When I arrive at the location, Doug told me he had walk roughly a Block and a half with his children and his dog. I asked Doug where did he have the ring. He told me it was on his finger for safe keeping, he notice the ring was missing when he got back to the house, you see his wife had entrusted him with her ring while she was attending a tournament in the city,

I asked Doug if he had done anything out of the ordinary while on his walk he told me that he was throwing snow balls at the back of the house, I told him we will start at that location which was a logical place to start when we got on the walkway, Doug said the walkway had been cleared of snow since he was last there.

Doug told me that he had spent a couple of hours walking up and down the walkway looking for the ring with no luck.
After about 20 minute searching the area where Doug was throwing snowballs I found the ring on the other side of the walkway Doug was very happy to have the ring back in his possession.

Thank you Doug for allowing me to locate your wife’s lost ring.

Lost man’s tungsten wedding ring found in Mead WA

Yet another snow covered car steals a man’s wedding ring. That man Jared, was just closing the door to his car and with the slam of the door he also heard the ting of his ring hitting the door. Thinking the ring couldn’t have gone far, he and his wife looked for an hour. After not succeeding, Jared took to his computer to find a metal detector to buy. Low and behold the internet led him to the Ring Finders and so begins my latest Ring Finders tale. I got an email from Jared about his ring and dawned my snow bibs and took off to his house. The car that stole Jared’s ring was still parked in the spot where he had lost the ring. So knowing a thing or two about how conductive cars are I stayed away from the car and grid searched around the door he had closed. “The ring is being hidden by the car” I told him. He moved the car backwards but still no ring, he moved the car forwards and then I heard the sweet sound of the lost but now found ring. I said ” I bet this is it”, I swept the snow with my foot and Jared’s ring landed in front of him. He was wearing a smile when he bent down to pick it up and an even bigger smile with his ring back on his finger.

Lost Engagement Ring Found in North Spokane WA

Today this lady named Karen decided to follow a sign from God and take a leap of faith by contacting me from the information I had posted on Craigslist. Her ring was lost over the Christmas weekend.  However, Karen did not know where it was lost or the actual day it came off. Her dear friend was trying to help her by placing an ad on the Spokane Craigslist. I was watching the lost and found section while I was on vacation and saw her ring ad pop up on the top a few times. I was also re-posting my ring finders ad as well.  These two action created a spark of hope in Karen’s heart. She called me today with only the strength to get out the message that she left and say hello when I called back. Her tears made this Ring Finder head out in 2o degree weather with 2 feet of snow on the ground  to search for a ring that may not be there. So I dawned my detectives hat when I got there and started questioning her about everything that happened that weekend. There were three spots of interest . So after searching the front drive way where she got out of her car, the walk way to the stairs and the stairs. I headed to the back yard where she had thrown a few snow balls with both her left and right hands. To give you an idea of the snow conditions, I had two hands on my metal detector to be able to move it through the  new snow layer so I could be closer to the snow that had frozen last week. The ring was under a foot of snow. It rang up as a 17 and gave me the biggest thrill to date seeing the out line of her ring in the frozen snow. I got the signal and told her fiance John that this could be it and in fact it was. After showing John the ring and giving him a hug, Karen had come back outside and saw us hugging. I quickly moved to the porch to give her the ring but her week of looking for the ring came full circle and emotions almost brought her to her knees. This was a really good new years day for both Karen and my self. God is alive in Spokane, Washington you only need to have faith that His Promise will come true. Happy New Year Ring Finders Family.

Lost Ring in Colville Washington

So you know that moment when you look down, then look around and then go It’s gone. It doesn’t really matter what it is, keys, your child, your phone, we have all been there. So when I got a text at 6pm last night asking if I was Luke Schlining The Ring Finder, I knew an upset lady named Shailynn was feeling the same feelings. Her intent was to take some nice winter photos for the holidays. However after preforming an action shot of throwing snow up in the air, her hands had reached that magical temperature that shrinks the ring finger. Off went her Fiance’s ring with the melting snow she had just threw. In that very snow that she was standing in, the ring sat. It didn’t make a sound for her on their metal detector, nor did it come to the surface when they sifted through the snow. But as I made a quick grid around the trampled snow where the photo shoot took place,  I quickly discovered where the ring was hiding. Handing it back to  Shailynn was an amazing feeling, punctuated by her mom yelling “He Found, It He Found it”. I now know how Chris feels when the people who hired him are still signing his contract and he digs up their lost ring from right under their feet. As my Dad put it, a good ending to 2015.
