Lost Gold Ring in a Ditch in Chilliwack BC…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call from a young man that told me that he lost his late fathers gold ring that was given to him two years ago.

He told me that he was parked by the side of the road and threw an apple out of the car window and his ring that was fitting him a bit lose went flying off his finger with the apple towards a ditch.

It was dark out and he searched as best he could but couldn’t find the ring. He came back in the morning and searched the area but still no ring!

He told me that he rented a metal detector and searched the area for hours but couldn’t find it. He was pretty sure that it went into the ditch that was muddy and full of water.

When I arrived to the area in Chilliwack where he lost the ring my first thoughts were… this was going to be a tough search! Due to the water and branches and mud in the ditch.

I started my search near the side of the road by the long grass near the ditch, I figured that I’d start with the easy part and make my way to the hard part(Muddy Water)

This was a good idea as less then 10 minutes I got a loud signal which turned out to be a flatten out beer can and right beside it was his late fathers gold ring!

It was very windy and I lost most of the interview because of the sound but I can tell you he was a very happy young man!

I love my job!

Lost Wedding Band at a Baseball Field in Port Coquitlam…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

First of all I’m chocked that I accidentally deleted the video that went with this smile…My flip video camera doesn’t allow me to recover the video when I mess up…

I received a call the other day from a young lady who tells me that her husband of only two years had lost his wedding band while playing Baseball, one week ago in Port Coquitlam.

I decide to search that evening after I finished work, I was to meet up with her husband after his dinner with friends. I arrived at the park at around 8:15 pm and there was a baseball game on so I just kicked back and enjoyed the slow pitch.

When the game was over around 9:20 pm I was getting ready to start my search and was met shortly after by the young man who had lost the ring. He showed me all the areas he was playing and warming up in, it made sense to me that the only time the ring would come off his finger is when he was pulling off his glove.

Because his glove was on his left hand and because he wouldn’t take it off while playing the most likely area for me to search was where he was warming up. I figured when he was running back to the sidelines where his team was getting ready he’d take off his glove and out the ring would go… At least that’s what I was hoping for.

It was getting dark fast and I told him that he could go home and I’d call him when I found it. I started my grid search where he showed me where he was standing while warming up and headed back towards the sideline.

It was going on 45 minutes and the mosquito’s were out in full force, I was thinking to myself that I’d come back on the weekend and search some more for the ring and I was getting close to the end of my grid when I received a loud signal on my detector. I turned on my flashlight and kicked the grass to see his 14k white gold wedding band looking back at me!

That felt so good to see! I quickly called him to tell him the good news and was greeted with a nice Thank You card from his wife and a kind reward for my efforts.

Metal Detecting Abbotsford Park for Lost Gold Wedding Band

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Yesterday afternoon I received a call to help find a man’s wedding band that he lost at a park in Abbotsford.

Dave was at the park throwing a ball for his dog and trying to get the ball out of the dogs month and suddenly realized that his ring was gone.

He called his wife to tell her the bad news and right away she searched on the internet and found my service. We talked for a while and she told me that her husband was still searching for the ring. I said I’d be happy to take a look if he didn’t find, later that night she called and asked if I’d come out.

Abbotsford is a little over 1 hour drive each way and we were to meet at 7:30 am to search for his ring. When I met Dave he showed me the area he was standing and showed me the direction he was throwing the ball, my first thought was this is going to be a long search!

He had to go to school so he headed off and I started my grid search of the area he was standing in while he was throwing the ball. Within minutes I found his ring! Crazy how that works, sometimes it only takes minutes and other times it can take hours.

I love my job!

He told me that it really bothered him when he lost his wedding band, he spent 5 hours searching for it in the grass, the only thing was he wasn’t sure when it came off his finger…

Metal Detecting…For a Lost BMW Car Key in Poco BC…

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call from a young lady who found my metal detecting service on the internet today.

She had lost her BMW car key that her husband threw to her but unfortunately he threw it to hard and it landed in the bushes behind her… so they thought.

They had spend over 3 hours searching for the key and the lady had to take a day off work as she only had the one key.

The cost to have a new key cut would of been outrageous! I had to find this key for them!

When I arrived at the location her husband was still in the bushes digging around.

I took my VW key off my keychain and asked if it was similar to the key they had lost and he said it was.

I then asked him to go to the spot from where he threw the key, then I had his wife stand where she was when he threw it to her.

I then told him to throw my key the same way he did with his key… He thought I was crazy because If I couldn’t find my key then I’d be stuck there…But I knew I’d find it with my detector, if need be so.

This proved to be a good thing as I got to see the direction and how far the key flew in the air. It was in the other lot on the other side of the fence, so I started my search there and within 5 minutes I got a good signal and her husband moved the bushes and there was the key!

It wasn’t a diamond ring…But the smile was just as big!

I love my job!
