Lost Gold Ring Found in Grosse Pointe Michigan

A Golden Get-Away……

…was finally in the works for Jessica as she arrived for her first visit to Michigan. Excited to spend time with some friends in the back yard, somehow her gold ring took a get-away off her finger. The ring has always had a special meaning since she received it from a family member. Pressed for time with a busy schedule, she didn’t want to leave it and continue with the fun activities planned. On arrival I quickly started to grid search the area in question with my MXT metal detector and in less than 10 minutes I got a nice signal thru the headphones of the metal detector and a good reading on the metal detector meter. As I lifted the ring out of the grass Jessica immediately knew it was found and came running towards me from the picnic table. Totally thrilled that it was in the yard and not somewhere else a sigh of relief came over her as she held it in her hand. Now with the ring captured she was excited again to start enjoying her ‘Welcome to Michigan’ golden get-away.

Lost Gold Ring on Softball Field Found on Belle Isle Detroit Michigan

Flashing Some Leather…..

…with 2 outs and bases loaded Shema heard the crack of the bat on the ball. As it soared past 2nd base, she full throttled it from her position in center field and took a dive. Making the catch and claiming victory, during the team celebration she noticed her ring missing. Trying to celebrate and not worry where her ring went was becoming difficult, so she and some teammates started to look around. With dusk approaching they called off the search. As with all rings and jewelry there is a story behind them. Shema received this ring from her grandmother prior to her passing away, so she was totally devastated when she had to leave the ballfield that night. A sleepless night was followed by her back out on the ballfield the next morning. She had a general idea where to look so using the quick turn on a go mode with my MXT metal detector I started to grid search. Closing in on the general area I got a good signal. Using my pin pointer detector, I moved some grass aside and the glint of gold shone thru. Shema quickly reached down and lifted her ring from the grass. Totally amazed she could hardly catch her breath. Hugs and high fives followed and although her team won the game, scoring her ring was the winning run!

Lost Metal Nails Found on Horse Arena in Ortonville Michigan

She Won’t Saddle for Less……

……when it involves her horse, Ebony. When Sarah and she were doing some practice routines, Ebony stepped on a nail that resulted in a horrible infection that slowed her activities down to near zero. During the healing process, Sarah got a metal detector and tried to locate more nails resulting in no success. I decided to approach this challenge 2 different ways. First, using my custom tube magnet, I adapted it to drag thru the loose sand in a grid pattern. This gave a high yield to all the loose nails. Second, I grid searched the arena with my MXT metal detector to capture any other stray nails. Both search methods proved successful. Ebony approved and Sarah is thrilled that she’s back in the saddle and riding high again!

Lost Gold w/Diamonds Bracelet Underwater Found in Cass Lake Waterford Township Michigan

One Score and Seven Days Ago…….

…..DeAngelo and his out-of-town fiancée were eager to celebrate their independence and freedom. In the pursuit of happiness, they invited all their local friends and family to join them on the lake. As they headed out on 3 pontoon boats the party of 20 people caught up on current events, personal goals and family gossip. Arriving at a popular sandbar their 4th of July celebration began. Food, drinks, card games, music and dancing had everyone in a great mood. His fiancée frequently jumped in and out of each boat to visit with everyone. As dusk approached the small fleet packed it in and headed for the mainland. It was around this time that his fiancée noticed her bracelet missing. With the remaining light everyone tried to find it with no luck. DeAngelo and I made arrangements to meet and try to find it. Arriving at the location I put on my snorkel mask, weight belt and jumped into the refreshing clear cool water with the metal detector to grid search the sand bar. An hour later and a pocket full of junk I got another signal. Thinking it was another bottlecap I looked thru my fogging snorkel mask and thought I saw something. Rinsing out the mask I then went completely underwater a few feet and scanned the sand with my Garrett carrot pin pointer. Moving through the sand I got a signal and when the blurring of the stirred-up sand cleared I saw a portion of the bracelet! Knowing I had to come up for air in a few seconds I pulled the bracelet out of the sand and secured it in both hands. As I surfaced, I was hoping that the bracelet had just snapped and there was not another piece somewhere. That turned out to be true. I yelled over to DeAngelo to come see me. As I showed it to him, he said WOW that’s it, you found it! Boarding the boat, DeAngelo quickly sent texts and pics of the find to his fiancée. She was totally elated and didn’t think she would ever see it again. As we enjoyed the ride back, and our heads held high, DeAngelo was excited to get the bracelet repaired and returned to her next time they meet. Now they can look back on this 4th of July as a double celebration as one heart, proud to be under one flag and on the land that we call America!

Lost Water Shut Off Valve Found in Southfield Michigan

All was WELL and Good…….

…..until Dave could not locate the outside shut off valve to the well water supply. Although the subdivision went on city water, he still wanted the well supply for watering the garden, plants, ect. and needed to shut the supply off to change the piping around. Turning on my Tesoro Sidewinder metal detector in all metal mode I started to search for the valve. An increase in the threshold sound was convincing enough to dig. Pushing the shovel into the ground and removing a few scoops revealed the cap that sealed the metal tube to the valve deep below the ground. Using a long T bar, we turned the valve until it was shut. Instead of saying “O Well” and walking away, he was thrilled that he called me to help him. All’s WELL that ends well we said, as Dave feels this project is now just water under the bridge!

Lost Gold Ring Found in Taylor Michigan

A Golden Alignment……

…….As I stepped out of my vehicle at my chiropractor’s office for an appointment, Dr. Paul approached me. We’ve known each other for many years, and we joke around alot. He said I know you’ve told me about your ring finding but now I need your help. Taken by surprise, I thought he was kidding around. But he was serious and said his wedding ring came off somewhere on the grass portions of the property a few days ago. He also thought it may have been lost at a gas station. After my back and neck adjustment I turned on my MXT metal detector and started to grid search. One section revealed nothing but as I closed in on the front section, I got a real nice signal. Probing with my pin-pointer revealed his custom gold wedding band hiding below a patch of partially dead grass! Walking back into the office the employees were beyond belief that the ring was found. As Dr. Paul exited a room, I held the ring up for him to see. As he came closer, he exclaimed… that’s it! Totally thrilled he couldn’t thank me enough. So now with my back in place, and Dr. Paul’s ring in place, we all had smiles on our face!

Lost Gold Ring Underwater Found by Dowsing Rod at Argo Park Ann Arbor Michigan

Rapid Eye Movement…

….Is a unique phase of sleep with humans, helping a person to dream. But what happened to Abe was no dream but rather a nightmare. While getting out of a raft Abe and his fiancée decided to body surf down a rock waterslide. When they reached the bottom, the rapids tossed them around. Arriving on shore the ring his father gave him was missing. A few searches last week brought no luck. With wedding plans in the near future, Abe began to wonder how he would explain the loss of the ring to his mom when he visits her soon, and his dad who he chats with regularly. Time is of the essence. On site today, as I observed the quickness and unsafe look of the slippery rocks and rapids, I thought that I’d try to see if my Dowsing Rod would reveal any information to help narrow down where to look. While I showed Abe how to prepare the snorkel masks from fogging, I took a few readings with the dowsing rod and got 2 targets close together. He said that was the general area where they got roughed up. Entering the turbulent water with pin pointers, snorkel masks and a metal detector, we slowly crept thru the sharp rocks. Abe started to search on the far side of the rapids, and I started to search the close side, avoiding the strong current of the main rapids. After a few minutes Abe came up with the clad half dollar coin that was in his pocket! So, we felt that we were close to where his ring may be, and now I hoped that this was one of the two objects that the dowsing rod picked up on. As I scanned the metal detector it gave out a few signals around some rocks, but the current was too strong to operate the detector. Taking it back to shore I returned with the pin pointer. Submerging below the surface the current was almost unbearable. I had to anchor my feet on some tall rocks and balance myself. At first all I saw was tons of bubbles racing past my snorkel mask, and while exhilarating, my thoughts wondered if this is what being inside a bottle of champaign would be like. Refocusing on the task at hand I noticed a lull in the clusters of bubbles. During these moments I was able to do a visual form of REM by rapidly moving my eyes to see the bottom and where the rocks were that the metal detector signaled near. And of course, they were a few feet away! Moving carefully, I was able to get within reach of the rocks. Poking around the base of one of them the pin pointer buzzed, but as I had seen lots of bottle caps under the water, I figured this was another. Letting go of the pin pointer the lanyard kept it from drifting as I felt around the rock, I felt the edge of a round object. As I pulled it up, another clear cycle of no bubbles appeared, I saw that it was Abe’s ring! Regaining my footing I yelled out to him as I held the ring towards the blue sky! He zoomed towards me and could not believe it. We got to shore as quick as we could so he could show his fiancée. They were both totally elated and thrilled with the rapid response.

Lost White Gold Diamond Stud Earring Found in River Rouge Michigan

DADS ROCK…….

….Even though anyone can be a father, it takes a special kind of person to be a dad. When Rico is asked what’s the best part of being a dad is, the journey or the destination, he always answered it’s being in the company of his family. On that note, his wife and children presented him with a pair of diamond stud gold earrings this afternoon for fathers day in the presence of family and friends at an outdoor gathering. Totally taken by surprise he quickly put them on and began to enjoy the gorgeous day, BBQ, socializing and yard games. Early this afternoon after taking a seat to relax he reached up and noticed one of the earrings was missing. Upon standing and making the announcement, all the dad jokes, conversations and the laughter of children went silent as the mood turned somber. On site we moved all the metal chairs and tables out of the way. Taking a metal detector reading from the other earring stud I knew what number to look for on the detector meter. I started to grid search over the ground and got lots of junk metal signals. Closing in on where Rico had been I got a nice repeatable signal and the earring stud came out of hiding! Shaking his hand saying happy dad’s day he said thank you for rescuing it! It’s my pleasure was my reply and by the way, your family makes great BBQ and sides!

Lost Rose Gold Men’s Ring Found in Fenton Michigan

Rockin’ The Pink….

….is what Nick chose to do not so much for the fashion trend or statement but to match his wife’s rose gold wedding ring. Alloying copper to the gold and silver gives the pink gold, rose gold and red gold rings just enough “pop” to be bold. Pictures don’t do them justice, you have to see them with your own eyes to experience the fire and brilliance they reflect. Just as there are many color variations with rose flowers, there are more than 10 color choices available for gold rings. While doing some yard work just before he was gonna stop to smell the roses he realized his ring was missing. Turning on and go with my MXT metal detector had me searching quickly on the small piece of property. No signals came thru until I got near the rose bushes near the patio then the MXT gave out a great tone. Reaching down into the new mulch revealed his rose gold ring! I waved for him to come over and see where it was. He reached down and lifted it into the air with excitement admiring the soft, fiery color tones in the sunlight. Enjoying the bliss of the recovery, the beauty of the roses will eventually fade, but Nick’s rosie was made to last forever.

Lost Gold Wedding Ring Found In Canton Michigan

A Newlywed’s Nightmare…..

….wasn’t happening because Travis and his wife of 3 weeks marriage was breaking down, but rather because as they were playing their favorite sport of soccer yesterday evening his ring fell off. The short practice session led into the darkness as they traded being goalie and kicker. As they were getting into their vehicle Travis noticed his ring missing and no telling where it could be. On site I turned my MXT metal detector’s lighted meter on and started to search the path they walked to no avail, then started to grid search the soccer field area. A few short passes of scanning I got a nice signal where the ring should be on the detector meter. Pinpointing it at 0 depth on the metal detector meter confirmed it….. as I reached into the grass there was his ring! The couple was thrilled at scoring big time with the recovery and can now relax with the excitement to move forward in their marriage goals.
