Here’s another successful recovery where a precious ring had simply disappeared into the dry sand causing this nice family some distress this summer. They were visiting Torrey pines beach on of the last days of vacation before heading back home to British Columbia. This silver evil eye Ring meant a lot to her being that it was gifted by someone special to her,,They also sifted through the sand where they were sitting to no avail.

Fortunately my contact info was found online, I wasted no time to get there after hearing the despair in her voice. It’s always a pleasure meeting people doing what I do with the addition this day was special after learning it was also her 20th birthday!!   Soon after turning on & swinging the Metal Detector in the approximate area a signal that matched came up on my screen,Then with a smile,,,I unearthed her precious sentimental ring from the ground. Cheers,Hugs & tears flowed around.  They were soo relieved and grateful I could help them find something so important to her.  The story’s of this ring will live on;)

This summer has been a busy one at the beaches with El~Nino dissipating and La~Nina returning the long going Heat waves are driving many SoCal residents to escape West for the day.

Recently late at night,,I was searching for a ring lost in the ocean when I noticed a text from Ashley asking if I could help find her husbands wedding band in the dry sand at Del Mar Dog beach. Fortunately it was at a somewhat secluded area she described where I personally know that Metal Detector hobbyist usually don’t scan routinely like most popular nearby beaches where it could be too late already!  We agreed on a time to meet including the reward offered if I could help find it for them.

The next day we met just before sunset and Ashley showed me the spot where they posted up the day before it disappeared. I performed a procedure called a grid search pattern over the area to scan every inch of dry sand but had no luck or skills to show. So next I began expanding the search a little more while Ashley & her friend were enjoying the nice day it was.

Nearing the limit of where this lost wedding ring could of been I was running out of possible search areas is when a distinct beep on my detector signaled me…Sure enough after scooping up this target..Ashley’s husband’s wedding ring suddenly appeared. I was able to surprise them with it to add to the excitement to end an amazing day as you can see from the book of smiles photo :).

Dale recently lost his precious wedding band when it fell into the sand as him & his wife were trying to enjoy the day at Del Mar Beach.  They were smart & stayed put until finding my contact info online. I didn’t waist anytime knowing this popular Ca beach is cleaned daily by droves of newbie metal detector enthusiasts. Being a local in North County San Diego I was able to get there promptly. It was a small search area & I recovered Dales ring quickly. He was relieved as you can see in the photo I saved the day!

Don’t wait too long,,Thar’s Pirates routinely raiding the beaches for treasures & Youtube Content. Items lost in the sand do not stay there long these days!

Saturday July 6th, I was referred a call to help find a wedding ring lost at a popular Volleyball court on a Ca beach. Timing was urgent on this being a well known beach where multiple Novelists metal detectorist’s are every night & morning searching to score Gold or even Content for their YouTube channels!

I sailed there on the freeway just after we spoke, The only trouble was parking on this busy day,,That was the only tough search I had after 3 laps around…

Finding his wedding ring buried in the sand was easy,,Even with a quick adjustment to combat EMI noise that makes detectors chatter rendering them useless,,I also knew the signal to focus on that matched Tungsten rings from experience. Right off the bat starting my first grid search Lap I heard it  buried in the sand!  He was thrilled to have his ring back knowing it could of been gone forever.

As you can see from the photo she was so happy & relieved to have her precious ring back:) Thought it maybe gone forever. This happened after it slipped off while flying a kite the night before on the shoreline during a incoming King high tide!  The waves were pounding & eroding the parking lot throughout the rest of the night. I set my alarm to meet them at Low tide first thing in the morning. Only trouble was finding parking,,,Finding her ring with my Metal detector buried down nearly 8” in the wet sand was easy!

This search & recovery I put high priority not only knowing that it was lost in the hungry Surfline~Ocean but especially with the wave of newbie Pirates learning how to metal detect these days…This could of been forever gone so timing was urgent!

After communicating with Diana via Email who was on her way back home to Austria. I gave it my all that same night for an hour yet could not find it due to the rising high tide,Angry surf and me between the cliff that was already dangerously bashing against upon arrival so I called it quits.

Early next morning I searched from 5-7:00am scanning every inch of the beach during low tide to no avail. Later in the afternoon through emails I had to update Diana with the unfortunate outcomes. Then I realized she was further North of where I’ve been searching…Which is GREAT news for me ;).  Immediately I bolted back there that evening and swiftly located her precious wedding ring buried nearly 10” deep along the shoreline using my trusty 13 year old metal detector!  I was thrilled afterwards with excitement to get home and let her know her ring is now safe.

(Below is a testimonial Diana wrote;)

I am deeply impressed with the work you’re doing for silly people who take their most valuable jewelry to the beach. I was in Carlsbad for a work conference and in a break decided to go for a swim at the beach. Luckily I didn’t go too deep in the water as the waves were quite strong but it was enough for loosing my wedding ring. I didn’t notice it until it was time to go back. Searched the sand area like crazy and eventually gave up.

Next day I went back to the beach to look for it again and a group of people told me about Curtis and his successful ring finding experience. After a couple of emails exchanging details and 2 days later I got the best news that Curtis found it. I got the news a few hours before meeting my husband so luckily I had better news for him.

We are both very happy that we got the ring back as in our culture this is quite important.

San Diego Ring Finder rescues a Lost wedding ring consumed by the Sea with metal detector equipment!

The California Ring Finders Metal Detector service saved another wedding band from being consumed by the hungry Pacific Ocean!

Recently I received a text Saturday afternoon from Matt saying I was recommended to help find a wedding ring lost in the shallow 2’ water at a local SoCal beach 3 hours prior. Only issue was (Timing) as the tide has risen significantly since rendering an immediate search for this precious ring until a lower tide a few hours later.

As planned we met there that evening just as the sun set along with falling tides. Matt explained to me what happened when it was lost. He simply reached his hand down in beach sand at the surf line, Then looked at his hand after to discover his ring was gone!

We walked to the approximate area to begin a thorough grid search chasing the tide out to the surf in waist deep intervals. After nearly completing the search area the only possible target was a deep low tone that sank out of range of the Minelab Equinox 800 when I was trying to retrieve it in the lapping surf with rough current. I had to run back to my vehicle and switch to a Pulse detector to retrieve it. Turned out be a flat lead piece of trash!

I turned my metal detector off, Walked over to Matt while waiting above on the beach for about an hour to suggest taking a break for the tide to fall further/Kill time.

Unfortunately during our break we found out the parking lot closes at 10:00pm and could receive citations soon. Matt with his son agreed to wait however we needed to pace back there quickly to double check a landmark from a photo taken matched the search areas proximity.

Round 2, I began cross gridding the same area down the slope further out to the aggressive sea for nearly another hour with no luck at all. At this point I’m basically fighting a battle us Ring finders often have & that’s when to call it quits!   I thought to myself what to say too Matt when I come back empty handed soon.

The only search area I haven’t overly stretched too far is further south of the Landmark Boulder they posted at earlier,,So I headed quite a bit that way building up thought when I was interrupted by a loud solid BEEP on my metal detector … 2 scoops, 6-8” down & a few Seconds later…Matt’s Titanium wedding ring of 20 years magically appeared in my hand!!

You can only fathom how relieved Matt was & others I’ve helped the past 10yrs… To have something Soo important, Soo sentimental, So meaningful taken from you by the hungry ocean…Then handed back to you with a smile:)

Recently I received another call to help find 2 diamond rings that went missing after the ring box was thrown up a hillside nights beforehand.

After speaking with Carlos we set up a time to meet at the Apartment complex he was during the loss. As soon as we met, There was a downside seeing those loud landscaping crews cleaning the exact bushy hillside where the ring box was tossed!  I try not to get discouraged hoping that it wasn’t found in plain site already so I turned on my Metal detector, Then began ruling out each section of this roughly 20X30’ slope to determine the rings were not on there.

So back to a few more questions such as where the ring box was found, When he points just over the fence on top of the hill in an abandoned field. So I quickly hopped over then scanned back & fourth until I was confident they did not fall near the ring box. I wasn’t sure how good of an arm he had but needed to know if the rings could of fallen out of the box ending up further…

So on I we went to the very back lot and worked towards the box this time. Shortly after we were running out of possibilities,,,I began saying something to Carlos while swinging my detector machine and heard a quick beep..As I glance down in the Gravel,,I see the big diamond ring and nearly stepped on it!   I pointed right at it carrying on the conversation to surprise him and that sure did!  He was stoked in in relief,,There it is I said;!  Shortly after the first celebration,,Just 6-8’ feet around a big pile of dirt,,Another celebration,,We both simultaneously saw it relaxing in the sun.!

There is never a Monday or bad day in the metal detecting Hobby,,,Because It’s not like a job!

This Precious diamond band was lost somewhere around the exterior home during moving hay bails. I was contacted & asked if I could urgently find it before they had to move from the rental house that was getting bulldozed & developed into Multi-housing units this year!

Once there,, She explained to me the many possible areas it could have fallen while doing some work outside. After scanning my Metal detector in the front & Side grass sections along with a few pieces of buried trash,, My detector machine told me there was no gold signals in that range left so we moved on to the trash cans,,After emptying both onto a tarp we were able to scan & sift throughout to make sure it didn’t get thrown away that day. Only the short back yard areas mixed with grass,Cement & the hay bails were left to detect over. Like a process of illumination I ruled out 98% of the areas where this precious gold ring is NOT,,,But not until the very last hay bail we moved around,,,And both yelled out in excitement….There it is;)

This lost ring was recovered before the Tonka Trucks/Bulldozers hauled it away! Gotta love this rewarding Hobby,,,Thank goodness it’s NOT a job because those contain Bossholes!

Received another urgent phone call on September 8th,2023 to help find a very sentimental diamond ring. Ashleigh asked me about my charges or fees?? So I explained that I work on a reward basis meaning it’s entirely up to you. She sounded relieved about that especially that I could help her immediately. So I stopped what I had planned that second and burned gas to get the beach located in Carlsbad less than 20min to help her. Everything was wonderful,,I was able to recover the precious ring buried in the sand quickly. We celebrated,Took some photos,,They asked for my Venmo info for compensation which I sent just after to Mrs.s Yob but Never got a response back or at least a penny fuel for expenses. The END!
