Lost… Diamond Engagement Ring & Wedding Band/White Rock

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Today I had a search for a lady who lost both of her wedding rings at White Rock Beach. After talking with Ali on the phone I knew the chances of finding her rings were slim due to the fact that it was likely lost on the short grass where she and her family were sitting, making the rings easy to spot.
She had taken them off to put suntan lotion on her kids and put them on the towel she was sitting on, after a while it was time to go and she got up and her son picked up the towel and they left for home.

After around a half hour she realized what had happen and raced back to where they had been sitting to look for her rings…No luck, they were no where to be found. Franticly searching for her rings strangers stopped and helped her look but no one found them.

When I arrived the next day and met Ali and her sister they showed me the spot, I searched the grass and then the small bush area but no luck.

I brought a towel and a couple of rings of no value but ones I would use to do a test with and placed the rings on the towel and asked Ali to pick up the towel like her son would have done. This showed us that the rings didn’t travel far at all and ended up on the grass close to the towel. This would have been very easy for someone to spot.

I believe there are good people in this world still and the person who found the rings is looking for the owner… If you found the rings here is Ali’s contact number… 604-870-8825

I hope your rings find you Ali.

Metal Detecting for a lost gold wedding band on Crescent Beach/South Surrey

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received a call while I was at work, this young man told me the story about how his wife’s wedding band fell off her finger and into the ocean where they were standing. He said that they searched for 3 hours in knee deep water but had no luck in finding the ring.

The night before I was out searching for a young man’s wedding band at 12 AM and I was a little tired as I just switched to nights for work that day.

I listened to his story and I needed to check the tide chart on my Iphone to see when the next low tide was so I told him I’d call him back.

The next low tide was at 7:59 AM…I would be working to 4:30 AM that morning so I had to decide if I could make it out there…I figured I could drive out there after work and get a few hours of sleep then meet him and find his wife’s wedding band and get a few more hours sleep to wait out the morning rush hour, then go home and get a few more hours of sleep then go to work.

I called him back and we were to meet at 7AM that morning for the search. I drove out to the Crescent Beach area and slept in my car for a bit then at 7AM I met Mohumad.

Mohumad explained what happened that day and that he was sure of the area the ring was lost in, which helps a lot when your searching for something so small. He drove and I followed him to the beach, when we got there the tide was out and Mohumad showed me where he thought the ring would be.

He walked to the top of the beach where there was a big patch of seaweed and walked out towards the water and stopped and said this is the area here!

I started my search and within 20 seconds or so I found the ring! It helps so much when a person doesn’t panic and makes a mental note of the area the ring was lost in because it gives me a great chance to find the ring the next day. I had a similar search at a beach years back and it took me close to 3 hours to locate the lost ring. This was because the person didn’t make a note of the area but just pointed and said out there some where…Thanks Mohumad, it was great meeting you and I’m glad your wife has her ring back!

Thick Silver Wedding Band lost at Pitt lake…Found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I get a call from a young man and he tells me that he lost his wedding band in the Pitt Meadows area in BC.

He goes on to tell me that he lost it where he was fishing and he knew the exact area at Pitt lake where his large silver ring came off his finger.

I agree to meet him and we drove out together to find his ring, when I get there its full of weeds and the water was ankle deep.

I thought it might be difficult to find the area but he was sure he knew where it was, we didn’t have much time as this is a tidal river and the tide was coming in!

He spots the area and I begin to search quickly, it shouldn’t take long as he was sure this was the area, I thought to myself. After 15 minutes and no ring I started to think maybe we were in the wrong spot.

Just then he calls out to me and said maybe its this spot here…The tide was moving in very fast and it was getting close to my knees now so I knew we didn’t have much time.

I started my grid search in the new area and within 5 minutes I received a good loud signal and there was his ring! He was so pleased and I was so happy that we found it before the water was over my head!

Check out his smile…

Lifeguard lost his ring in the ocean at 3rd beach in Vancouver…Next day it was found

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

This Story is about a lifeguard that lost his wedding band while training in the ocean. Years ago I started out by passing flyers to the lifeguards for my ring finders service here in Vancouver, BC.

Fortunately he remembered my service and called me after he searched for his ring in the ocean bottom for a few hours with no luck.

I met him at the beach that evening and he showed me the area where he lost the ring, the good thing was he measured out the exact distanced from a log on the shoreline to the area the ring was lost.

I had to wait until low tide later that evening (3am) and thanks to him marking the location it only took me 20 minutes to find.

To date I’m 2 for 2 for helping our lifeguards recover their wedding bands…

I got mad and threw my wedding ring away

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got mad at my spouse and threw my wedding ring away…Help!!!

Has this ever happened to you?

When some couples argue, in the heat of the moment they get mad and throw their wedding ring, most make up and then feel horrible afterwards.

I have received a hand full of these calls for help from both men & women, and I’m happy to say that I found everyone’s ring.

I’ve found rings that were tossed out car windows into bushes, peoples yards, beaches, lakes ext. It doesn’t matter how many years the ring has been lost for if its on your property or places people wouldn’t be searching with a metal detector…It still can be found!

If this has happened to you and you never found your ring, give me a call.

Tip of the day: If you get mad at your spouse and the thought of tossing your ring comes to mind, try this…

Take a coin out of your pocket and switch it with the ring… When the storm blows over and you make up… You’re down a coin but you still have your ring!

Spanish Banks Beach in Vancouver… Men’s Gold wedding band lost but now found.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

This story begins when I receive a call from a young lady that told me that her husband lost his ring at the beach last year in early spring. They both saw the ring fly of his finger and disappear into the sand.

They searched for hours sifting the sand but couldn’t find the ring, the lady came back the next day and searched for hours with a rented metal detector but no ring…

Feeling like there was no chance, they were going to post on the Craigslist and came across my add in the Lost & Found.

If you’ve lost something and want it found…Call ASAP

They contacted me and gave me the area where the ring was lost.

When I arrived at the beach I contacted her to make sure I was in the exact area, I was and I found the ring in 30 seconds…

Why would it take me only 30 seconds to find the ring and they searched for hours and didn’t find it?

I guess an example would be… I could buy a jet plane, but it doesn’t mean I can fly it. I’ve been metal detecting for many years and I know how operate my equipment and how to find things.

I called and got their address and drove the ring to their place, she was very excited and was going to surprise her husband when he got home from work as he didn’t know his ring was found .

Lost in Steveston BC… White gold wedding band lost in snow.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I get a call from a young man from Steveston who lost his white gold wedding band some where in the snow.

I met up with him and we discuss the area the ring was lost at, its a big area so I have to eliminate the possibilities. We start out by his place where he was petting the neighbors dogs.

This happens a few more times down the street and around the corner as the dogs were following him. I start my search and after 11/2 hours searching in heavy snow we decide to call it quits.

That night I get a call from the young man and he said that there was an area we didn’t check that he remembered wiping the snow off his jacket and petting the dogs.

When I get there the next day the walk way was shoveled high to the side, I searched the area and no luck as the snow was even deeper then the day before.

We talked and I told him that I would come back when the snow had melted. New Years day was the day I found his ring in 4 inches of snow… It took me three visits out there and over 4 hours. He was very happy and was very kind and generous in rewarding for finding the ring.
