Lost…White gold diamond ring/ A gift from her late Grandmother/ Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

This ring search was for a young lady who lost the white gold diamond ring that was given to her by her late Grandmother.

While cleaning her balcony she threw a few things down to the ground below to pick up and throw away later. This is when she felt her ring come off and land some where in the grass below.

I listened to her story and it was pretty cut and dry in my mind that the ring would be in the grass close to the items that she threw to the ground.

I started my grid search in this relatively small area of her back yard and after 1 hour and no ring I had to re-think the situation. This should be easy I thought to myself… but why haven’t I found it?

My only thought was that the ring flew over the fence and landed in the neighbors yard, when I suggested we ask her neighbor if we could search her back yard for the ring, she didn’t think it was possible that it ended up there, but she agreed.

After a short time in the neighbors yard the ring was found and the smile was in full view!
“Flick Factor” I believe we never stop learning and life is exciting with the possibilities that await us in every challenge we meet.

Gold in the Attic!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

A local newspaper here in Vancouver did a story about my service ”Finders” This always gets me a rush of work as people remember what they’ve lost and wonder if I could find it for them.

This story is about a man who was laying out insulation in his attic and after he was done he noticed his gold coin ring was gone. Thanks to the story that was in the local paper he now had a feeling that his ring could be found.

I showed up to his house and we talk about the search, I explain that it could be difficult due to all the nails in the area that I needed to search. We took a nice sheet of plywood and laid it down to give me something to sit on as I metal detected the insulation. This could take sometime as it was a big area I had to cover.

I was getting a lot of signals for nails as I expected but I kept watching my visual display on my metal detector for a ring signal. That signal came after just 10 minutes and out from the insulation came his beautiful gold coin ring.

I think the owner was in shock as he didn’t think he’d ever see that ring again…

Gold Ring lost at Surrey Golf Course…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

This story begins with a call in regards to a lost ring at a Surrey golf course, the lady tells me that the ring was lost in the pond on the golf course.

She was part of the team building the golf course and on a hot summers day, she decides takes a dip in the pond. When she gets out of the water and starts to dry off she notices that her gold band with a small diamond is missing.

Heart broken, she knows that there’s no way to find the lost ring in the pond. A few days later she sees the story about ”Finders” jewellery recovery service in the local newspaper.

She reads the story and calls to see if I can help her, she tells me that the ring is lost in a pond around 10 feet deep.

I tell her that I’d have to hire a diver as I only work chest deep of water. A friend of my who was a diver and treasure hunter agreed to take a look for the ring.

We all meet at the golf course the next day and as my friend was suiting up to do his dive, I walked to where the lady entered and exited the water and I decided to do a search on the dry sand.

I start to search and she tells me that the ring was lost in the water, I know that I tell her but I want to make sure before my friend gets into the water that its not on dry land. Really I just wanted to metal detect and see if there was anything there, and to our surprise there was…Her diamond ring!

I found her ring in the dry sand around the edge of the pond, my diver wasn’t fully dressed and I held up the ring to show him. We both had a good laugh.

I got mad and threw my wedding ring away

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got mad at my spouse and threw my wedding ring away…Help!!!

Has this ever happened to you?

When some couples argue, in the heat of the moment they get mad and throw their wedding ring, most make up and then feel horrible afterwards.

I have received a hand full of these calls for help from both men & women, and I’m happy to say that I found everyone’s ring.

I’ve found rings that were tossed out car windows into bushes, peoples yards, beaches, lakes ext. It doesn’t matter how many years the ring has been lost for if its on your property or places people wouldn’t be searching with a metal detector…It still can be found!

If this has happened to you and you never found your ring, give me a call.

Tip of the day: If you get mad at your spouse and the thought of tossing your ring comes to mind, try this…

Take a coin out of your pocket and switch it with the ring… When the storm blows over and you make up… You’re down a coin but you still have your ring!

Gold & Emerald Ring lost at Spanish Banks Beach

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

My wife and I are packing to go to the UK when I get a call from a friend of mine who tells me that his sister just lost her gold & emerald ring that was given to her by her grandmother.

He said they were playing in the water and she felt the ring come off her finger and sink to the sand below. Panic set in then the realization that the ring could be lost for good.

As they were searching for the ring in the water my friend remembered that I had a service that could help find it. When I get the call he explains what happen, of course I head out ASAP.

When I showed up they were having a barbeque and my first thought was I better find that ring because that chicken looks really good!

She walks me to the area the ring was lost, the tide had come in and it was around waste deep. The good thing was that they marked the area and the distance out to where the ring was lost.

After 20 minutes of grid searching the area I got good signal and as I lifted my sand scoop I could see her beautiful gold emerald ring.

Everyone was happy and it was nice to help a friend, oh and the chicken was amazing!!!

1980 High School Silver Grad Ring Found In Aldergrove Lake

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

This story was about a 1980 silver high school grad ring that was lost in a lake in Aldergrove BC. Its hard to see the ring but she’s holding on tightly to it!

This was a good hour drive from the city and when I arrived to search for the ring I was surprised that when I got close to the middle of the lake my detector was beeping like crazy.

This limited my search and I knew if she had lost it in the middle of the lake I’d have no chance of recovering the ring for her. That being said she had put me in a good area and within 4 minutes I found her ring… She found her smile!

Note: 3 blogs down I talk about this lake and you can see that there is no water in lake as it had been drained. In this picture you can see the water behind her…

Lost… Large gold ruby ring at a duck pond in Langley BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

He lost his large ruby & diamond ring at a duck pond in Langley, he like most others searched for hours trying to find the ring but the very long weeds and muddy ground made it impossible to find.

It laid hidden for a few weeks until the man came across my flyer at the beach for my Finders company and called me, we met… and the search was on.

It was muddy and the weeds were hard to search through but he knew the area it was lost in and it was just a matter of time, a little over an hour and I found his heavy gold ruby ring.

If you are reading this and you’ve lost something and have a good idea where… Call me and I’d be happy to help find it for you!

Video…Roadside gold wedding band found…South Surrey

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Here is video about a ring I recently found on the side of the road in South Surrey for a man who threw an apple cord out of his truck while driving home in the early morning. You can see the blog about this ring here on my blog site.
I met up with him and I had a ring with string tied to it, I had him drive towards the area as he knew where it was lost because he found the apple core the next day in the ditch. I told him to throw the ring out of the truck like he did on that night.

The second test throw the ring landed very close to where I found his ring… A little re-enact sometimes helps! The string tied to the ring is so I can see where the ring lands… This man spent over 5 hours searching for his ring, I found it in a 1/2 hour.

Diamond & Ruby Ring lost at Bowen Island

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

This lady in this picture lost her beautiful ruby & diamond ring in the mud and water while walking on a wooden dock along side a lake at Bowen Island. I took the ferry and met her on the Island the next day and she showed me the area the ring fell off into the mud.

This was a tough search as it was deep and thick mud, my only hope was that the ring didn’t make its way down to the bottom. I started my search by lying on the dock at the edge and slowly moving the loop of my metal detector left and right and sliding down the dock inches at a time.

I was hoping to get a signal but it wasn’t looking good as the area I was searching was not the area she thought she lost it at as I worked my way down the dock on my mud grid search.

I had to push hard to get my loop further down then reach my arm down to my loop to make it flat then search, then after 30 minutes I heard the sound I was hoping to hear… I put my scoop down into the mud and after the thirdattempt I was looking at her very muddy ruby ring!

After washing it and giving it back to her, well the smile tells the story!

Tiffany White Gold Wedding Band Lost! Kits Beach Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

This story is about a man who lost his white gold wedding band at Kits Beach in Vancouver on a sunny summers day.

He was in the water cooling off when he realized that his ring was gone, he wasn’t sure of the exact location but he did give me an area that was workable, but it would take some time to find.

I talked to young man over the phone and he gave me the area that he believed the ring was in and because I’ve hunted that area so many times in the past it wasn’t important that he be there.

I showed up at low tide the next morning around 5 am and started my search of the area, I didn’t receive many signals which makes the search easier and it took me only 30 minutes to find his ring.

I was excited to call and tell him the good news, he was on his way to the beach the second I called him to pick up his ring.

When he arrive I gave him his ring and for some reason he didn’t think it was his, he look at it for a while then put it on and it fit him, but he remembered that there was an inscription inside and this one didn’t have one…?

I said cool two white gold rings in the same area, I’ll find yours next and I started to search. Within 30 minutes I found his 18k white gold Tiffany wedding band.

He was very pleased and gave me a nice reward and I left the beach with a 14k white gold ring that needed to find its owner and it did only weeks later…
