If You Lose a Valuable in  a public area call soon as possible … 949-500-2136

***** Bailey’s mother had put her rings and bracelets in her hand bag while she was at beach party at Huntington City That night while everyone was enjoying the camp fire, the hand bag was knocked off a table into the sand. Several pieces of jewelry were lost.

Bailey’s mother was upset when she came to her home in Apple Valley, CA. Bailey and his friend got into their car to drive 100 miles back to the beach, leaving at 12 midnight. To top things off they were held up over two hours by a road closure on interstate 15. They arrived at the beach at 4 am. After two hours of searching the sand, someone one told them how to contact me.

I received the call at 6:30 am. When I met them on the beach they were tired and frustrated. We were lucky enough to to find the last two missing pieces of jewelry. A gold high school ring and a gold bangle bracelet. We were very lucky that the beach cleaning equipment was being serviced and didn’t work that area of the beach that night.

Platinum Ring Lost in Surf at Manhattan Beach, CA. .. Found and Returned

Important to call as soon as possible if you lose a ring in a public place … 949-500-2136

**** Luke called me as I was stuck in traffic on one our famous freeways in Los Angeles, CA. His platinum wedding band flew off his finger into to the surf when he threw a football to his brother. He said, he had the area well marked but the tide was rising.

The tide was rising and I was not far away. The problem was traffic was so bad that it would be more than an hour till I could get to him. There were no other options. I assured him if I could get the location while he was still there, we still had a chance to find the ring even if I had to comeback at the next low tide.

When I arrived Luke and his friends were  directly in front of the location. One of Luke’s friends had actually stepped off 30 ft. to where he saw it land in the water. By now the waves were surging up the slope fairly powerful. I still go a great strong signal in knee deep water. Put my sand scoop in and retrieved Luke’s platinum wedding band. He was elated, as were all of us. Luke was happy that it was found before he took off for Salt Lake City the next morning.

One factor that made this a successful search was he had been standing in the surf while throwing the ball and he was actually throwing the ball towards the top of the beach, so it landed away from the deeper water. I guess we gained a little time before the tide took over the spot.

If you lose a ring or other valuable at the beach or other public area call ASAP.. 949-500-2136

**** Eric called me as I was driving home from a trip this afternoon. He had been teaching a Yoga class on the beach when he lost his gold wedding ring in the sand. Eric is the owner of www.beachyogasocal.com.

He had just finished teaching a class this morning when he brushed the sand off his pants and the ring went came off into the sand. Two or more hours of searching was disappointing without finding his ring.

I always have my detecting equipment with me, so I just drove straight to Santa Monica Beach. Traffic was a problem which is normal here in SoCal. The good thing is we had a good chance to find the ring because he got a hold of me in a timely manner.

Parking was easy in the late afternoon as people were heading home. Eric walked with me to the exact location where he had left a few markers in the sand. I fired up my detector and we had the ring in the scoop soon after starting the search.

It was great to meet Eric and be able to have the time and equipment to help him find his special wedding ring. He told me he never knew this service exists. Someday people will know where to go when they need a metal detector specialist, TheRingfinders.com

Diamond Ring Lost at Laguna Beach, CA. Found in Sand

It’s summer if you lose a ring at the beach or a public place, call now… 949-500-2136 ***

Tracy’s husband, Tony called me from Laguna Beach, CA. a couple of hours after she lost her diamond ring in the dry sand. Tracy had put her ring on her lap while applying sunscreen. After getting distracted she stood up and the ring fell into the sand. After a half hour she realized what had happened. The whole family searched dragging their fingers through the sand without success.

The lifeguard had suggested that they google search TheRingFinders.com. Tony called me for help and I ask if they could stay in the location till I got there. When I get a call out within a few hours of the loss and someone can put me in the general area. My metal detector is the perfect tool to find a ring or other precious metal keepsake.

It didn’t take long to find this beautiful ring. Tracy was happy to get her ring back, but she felt a little embarrassed about the way she list the ring. I took the time to tell her that this happens very often. Many people don’t discover that they had lost a ring till they are miles away and don’t remember what they did that caused the loss.

Not all searches are this easy. My last three searches were not successful and each search was over 3 hours. The main reason I could not find the lost object was.. 1) too much time had passed.. 2) It was lost in a public area, probably picked up by a passer-by.. 3) the person didn’t know the general area of the loss, we sometimes can only eliminate an area that the person believes the loss occurred.

Thought of the day.. Don’t put rings on your lap when applying lotions, its a bad habit and has led to the loss of many rings.

The difficult searches are always a high feeling when the item is found. I love the challenge.

Wedding Ring Set Tossed in Anger… Adelanto, CA. … Found Four Days Later

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

I’ve learned that this happens more often than most people realize. Monique had thrown her diamond wedding set in a passion filled moment. It was tossed in in the front yard that is landscaped with large white /gray gravel. Adelanto is located in the high desert of Southern California where they landscape with gravel to conserve water. I drove 90 miles from my base in Newport Beach the day we discussed the details of the loss.

Monique purchased a used metal detector and they spent four days trying to find the white gold wedding ring set. The rings were soldered together which makes a better target to find with a metal detector. They may have been able to find the rings if they had experience using a metal detector. All metal detectors are not equal and it does take time to learn how to use one. I’m sure the four days of searching for the ring set were frustrating.

Monigue’s brother was waiting for me when arrived to show me the location. I could see many places where they had moved gravel trying to retrieve metallic signals. I only received two signals that could have been gold. The white gold ring set blended into the white/ gray gravel and were almost invisible when I retrieved them. After waiting for Monique to return from doing her errands, I was able to personally give her precious rings.

I want to thank Monigue for being honest. Also, for allowing me to write the real story. I’ve been on many calls where the person was embarrassed to tell me how they lost their rings. There have also been on calls where they pretended to throw the ring. Then there have been calls where the ring was picked up by the other person involved in the argument and held in retaliation. We can’t find them all. We do have the best advantage to find metallic keepsakes because we have the best metal detectors, know how to use them and experience with all types of searches.

Lost Watch and Wallet at Hermosa Beach in the Sand.. Wallet Found

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Dan had called me asking for help finding his expensive watch that was lost on the beach, two nights ago. He  mentioned that there was also a wallet lost at the same time.

It’s the beginning of summer and the beach crew uses tractors to rake the beach daily. Dan lives nearby and believed that the area of the loss was not in a location that was raked by the beach cleaning crews.

Our hopes were that the watch was under the dry sand. The wallet may have been exposed and picked up by a person, as the beach has been very crowded. Dan sent me a screenshot photo of the area. After searching the location late that afternoon, I couldn’t find the watch.

I did find a wallet under the sand. My detector picked up a signal because it had a metallic electronic key inside.  The only problem was the driver license and credit cards belonged to a person named Ron. Luckily there was a card inside the wallet with his phone number. After contacting him I was informed he was Dan’s friend and that this was the wallet lost the same time the watch was lost.

We now knew we were in the right location where the watch may be hiding under the sand. After several attempts cross gridding the location with my metal detector, the watch could not be found. The losses occurred in the dark. It was probably not under the sand and someone may have picked it up the next morning?

I know that the watch was no longer in the area searched, but I had to be satisfied that I was able to return the wallet to Ron. I can’t believe the wallet was still on this beach after three days. Beach rakes. many people on the beach and other people using metal detectors on the beach, are reasons to contact a member of TheRingFinders.com as soon as possible.

The first day of Tiffany’s vacation started off by losing her Iphone in the sand at Santa Monica Beach. Tiffany is from Louisiana and was visiting her mother in Southern California. This is not a good start to a vacation.

Tiffany’s mother was able to find TheRingFinders website, using her cellphone. She called me and I asked her if they could stay at the location till I got there. Our best chance to find a cellphone is the first few hours. They are often picked up by other people or the beach cleaning machines get them the next morning.

We met on the beach just before sunset. Tiffany and her mother showed me an area approximately 50’x 50’ square. After searching that location with no success, I found the phone 20 ft. outside the original search area.

Tiffany was truly grateful to have her phone. I was also surprised when her young son told me, thank you for finding my mother’s phone.

Jessica called me from Huntington Beach after she lost her husband’s platinum wedding ring in the sand. Her husband, John had given Jessica his wedding band to hold while he was going for a swim in the ocean.

They agreed to wait for me on the beach which was going to help make it a successful search. When I arrived Jessica said, I’m the person who lost the ring. I reassured her that this seems to happen often lately.

She didn’t know exactly when or where the ring slipped off her finger, but she did know that she hadn’t left the 25’x 25’ area. Perfect, I began a grid search. There were not very many trash metal signals to bother with so it was not long until the ring was in my sand scoop.

It was a happy moment for both of them. After hours of trying to find the ring. Success came when Jennifer decided to ask for help by calling a member of TheRingFinders metal detector service.

Daniel and his wife are from Peru enjoying a visit to Venice Beach, CA. He lost his ring in the dry sand when he brushed some sand off his pants. Someone on the beach suggested that he contact TheRingFinders.com. He didn’t have a working cell phone, but the person helped him by letting Daniel use her phone.

When Daniel contacted me, I was just 5 miles away. I made sure I had his correct location because we wouldn’t have cell phone communication. It sounded like it could be an easy search, but if I couldn’t find him it would be terrible. Many people are not good at giving directions.

Everything worked out perfect. I found a parking space very close to his location. He saw me walking across the beach and met me with hands waving in the air.

I set up my detector while asking him what type of metal was the ring made of and what exactly happened when he list the ring. Basically, I could see the search area because he had left many finger drag marks in the sand.

It was a quick recovery with Daniel and his wife very happy to have the very special sentimental ring back where it belongs. They had no idea that this service exists. To me, it is special because I know losing a wedding ring while vacationing would certainly upset the vacation and definitely not be a good memory

How to Find a Ring in the Sand .. Southern California Beaches .. Metal Detector Expert

Tim and his wife were at Venice Beach, CA.  for the day and walking off the beach to their car. When he put some trash in the trash can . Tim felt his gold wedding ring slip off his finger as he pulled his hand away. The ring fell into the sand disappearing immediately.

I received a call about 11:30 pm as I was driving home late that night. Tim apologized for calling that late, but I was totally ok with the call. It allowed us to set up a search time for the next morning when he could be there to show me the general location.

We met at a time that allowed us to evade the morning traffic rush. The area of the loss wasn’t in a location that the beach cleaning machines would have been a problem.

When we met there was another obstacle. There was a movie crew set up exactly where we were going to search. The crew said it would be alright to do my search as I assured them it would be a short time.

I began my grid search and immediately had one 3’ x 3’ area that seemed to have a cement with rebar under 6’” under the sand. The metal detector could not work well with that interference. It might require hand sifting with my sand scoop. You never know what challenges can come up until getting to the search location.

Just before having to resort to hand sifting the area that had metallic interference, I got a decent signal up against a wood piling in the sand. Boom!.. Tim’s ring in the scoop. About 8 0r 10 members of the movie crew witnessed the recovery, which gave me a chance to tell them about TheRingFinders.com.

Another fun recovery which, wasn’t as simple as I thought it might be. It was awesome to see how happy an grateful Tim and his wife were as they have this ring back where it belongs.

If you need to find a valuable lost in the sand call a person the has experience operating a metal detector. Also someone that can get to you in a timely manner. Call as soon as possible..
