Lost Titanium Wedding Band at Kaimana Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a message on my Metal Detecting Oahu Facebook page. Stephen from San Diego lost his Titanium Wedding Band at Kaimana Beach on Monday November 18th. He wasn’t sure if it was in the water or sand he only noticed it missing after playing with his children on the beach. Thankfully the tide and surf was up that evening so other detectorists would stay away. I was going to wait for a low tide so I could get into the water at least chest deep to cover all the area Stephen could have been. He knew he didn’t go past the lifeguard shack so I started my hunt off the Natatorium Wall and worked toward the shack. I found a few coins which was an indication the ring was probably still here. After about 30 minutes and 2/3s of the way to the shack I got a strong hit on the Nox and in one scoop there was Stephen’s wedding ring. I texted a pic of the ring to Stephen and he responded immediately, “Wow! Just landing in San Diego!!! What a Blessing!!! I arranged to pass the ring to his friend Karl on Oahu and he got the ring back to Stephen a few weeks later. Respecting Stephen’s wishes I only posted a picture of the ring back on his hand with the Hawaiian Shaka! Aloha to Stephen!

Lost Gold Family Heirloom Ring at Kaiaka Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Anika who lives on the North Shore of Oahu. While throwing a ball to her dog at the beach Anika felt her Grandmother’s heirloom ring come off and she wasn’t quite sure what trajectory it went. She thought it could be in the dry sand to the shallow water. We decided to meet early the next morning at Kaiaka Beach. When I arrived Anika pointed out the area between two trees and out towards the water. I started my search on the dry sand and worked towards the water. Thankfully the beach was fairly sterile of metal trash. I finished the dry sand area quickly and was working down the steep slope to the crashing surf below. Please God don’t make me go in there. About a third of the way down the slope I got a 17-18 nice solid tone on the Equinox and in one scoop there was Anika’s precious ring. She burst into tears when I showed her the ring. She had mentioned that their was a rainbow on the water when she arrived at the beach this morning and she thought that was a sign for a successful recovery. A little prayer went a long way too. Aloha to Anika!

Lost Gold Wedding Bands in Ulua Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began on August 26th when I received a text from Mihai who was visiting Hawaii from Portland Oregon. While swimming in Ulua Lagoon in about five feet of water Mihai felt his two Gold Wedding Bands come off. One was Yellow Gold and the other White Gold. The depth depending on tide would most likely require scuba. After three grid search dives I didn’t find the rings. Then on Friday September 6th while detecting in shallow water at Ulua Lagoon I found a Gold Men’s Wedding Band and sent the pic to Mihai for confirmation. As you can see in the pic it was a perfect fit and obviously his ring. Hopefully I can find the White Gold ring real soon. Aloha to Mihai!

Lost Tungsten Wedding Band at Honu Lagoon…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Adam from Victoria, Canada on Sunday. While enjoying the day in the cool waters of Honu Lagoon and playing catch with his lovely wife Kaitlin. During a throw Kaitlin’s Wedding Band came off in chest deep water. Adam immediately took notice to where they were in the water in reference to the shoreline. Marriott personnel told them about my services and how to reach me. I told Adam I’d be there around 8am the next morning as I had another ring hunt in Lagoon 1 & 4. That morning I finished early at Lagoon 1 and decided to use the picture Adam texted me to commence the ring find. As I approached the area I saw a trench cut into the sand shaped like an arrow and recognized this as a mark Adam must have left for a reference point. I started a few grid lines to the North and worked my way towards that trench. When I was nearly directly out from the trench I got a nice tone on the Excalibur and one scoop later there was the glistening ring in my scoop. Adam had told me there was an engraving that said, “and together we will walk” on the inside of the ring. Sure enough that’s what it said so I texted them the good news. We met in the public parking lot for the return and you can see it was all smiles. Aloha to Kaitlin & Adam!

Lost Gold & Diamonds Engagement Ring at Makaha Beach Park…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Jarred from Virginia who was on vacation in Hawaii with his lovely wife Destiny. While enjoying the day at Makaha Beach Park a gust of wind picked up their beach tent and other items and scattered them on the beach. Destiny’s beautiful engagement ring which was in a pair of shorts pocket was thrown somewhere into the dry sand and disappeared. They searched for several minutes but it was out of sight. It was already late when I got the call so we decided to meet first light the next morning. Jarred drew a box in the sand where they had their tent. I started the grid search on the south side and in 45 seconds on the second line I got a really nice tone on the Nox and in one scoop there was Destiny’s ring. I walked over to her saying I don’t think this is yours but check it anyway. “That’s my ring!” she said as I dropped it into her hand. Smiles all around and what an easy hunt. Aloha to Destiny & Jarred!

Lost Gold Hawaiian Ring at Nai’a Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call last weekend from Kalei who lives in Wilhelmina on Oahu. While enjoying their stay-cation at the Marriott Beach Resort at Ko Olina she and her daughter Keiki went into the lagoon to enjoy the cool water and rather abruptly Keiki’s Gold Hawaiian ring slipped off in chest deep water and disappeared into the sand. Kalei immediately took landmarks to where they were in the water and Keiki’s father went ashore to get some goggles to see if he could spot the ring on the floor of the lagoon. The sand was too soft and the ring hid itself out of view. I went the following day after work but the tide was so high I couldn’t get very deep and going as far as I could I didn’t find the ring. I called Kalei and told her I would go back on the weekend during a low tide and see if I could find the precious ring. Sure enough the low tide was all I needed in chest deep water much farther and West from where I imagined I got a great tone on the Equinox. It took a few scoops as the target was getting pushed around in the fine sand. Finally on the 3rd scoop I looked in and there was Keiki’s beautiful ring at the bottom of my scoop. I texted Kalei and she was ecstatic and so happy the ring was found. We met later in the day and in the pic you can see the joy. Aloha to Keiki and her Mom!

Lost Wedding Band at Four Seasons Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Bailey from Phoenix, Arizona. While celebrating his honeymoon at the Four Seasons Resort he was in the cool lagoon with his new bride tossing a ball back and forth when his ring flew off into the water. They immediately began a search with goggles in the waist deep water but the ring disappeared. I agreed to go the next morning early as it was getting late in the day when I received the call. Bailey described the location and I started my hunt at 6:30 AM. After completing the search with no luck finding the ring I called Bailey and asked him to meet me at the lagoon to go over the location so I was positive I did a complete search. He was sure I covered the area of concern but I wasn’t satisfied. This time I started on the extreme Southern side of the grid and worked North. Just as I was about to conclude the search on the extreme North side of the grid I got a screaming target on the Nox. after a few scoops there in the basket was Bailey’s Wedding Band. He was sure the ring fell straight down but the location means it probably flew off his finger while throwing the ball. Always extend those grid searches. Come to find out Bailey just graduated from the Air Force Academy and knew my Nephew George who graduated with him a few weeks ago. Very small World!!! Aloha to Bailey!

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Ala Moana Beach Park Lagoon…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a phone call from Alexcia stating her husband Jon just lost his White Gold Wedding Band in chest deep water at Ala Moana Beach Park. I was just finishing up an errand at the drugstore and told her I could be there after I stopped home to get my detecting gear. They had to take the baby home to Manoa and said Jon would return immediately and meet me at the Park. 15 minutes later we were walking out to the water for the hunt. Jon explained to me that he was wrestling with his wife and other family members when his ring slipped off in chest deep water. Jon entered the water with me and was my seaward marker of the grid search. The area was sterile and on about the 7th leg of the grid search I got a nice 13 on the Nox in belly deep water. The ring had a tall surface area and the first few scoops were unsuccessful. Finally on the 5th scoop there was Jon’s white gold wedding band in the scoop. Jon was so thankful and his wife would be extremely pleased also. No dog house for Jon. Aloha to Jon!

Lost Tungsten Wedding Band in Naia Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring hunt began when I got a call from Robert whose retired Army and lives in Pearl City. While enjoying the day at Naia Lagoon he was swimming with his grandson and while assisting him to shore Robert’s Tungsten Wedding Band came off in waist deep water and disappeared in the murkiness. After posting on craigslist for a metal detectorist assist my good buddy Mike informed Robert to get a hold of me as the resort’s detectorist. We agreed to meet the next day after work. We both work on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam JBPHH. After arriving Robert showed me the location and I fired up the Nox to conduct the grid search. On the fourth leg and dead center in the grid I got a nice tone and in one scoop there was Robert’s ring. Robert was obviously ecstatic and told me he was now “Out of the dog house”. Aloha to Robert!
