Metal detector rental finds 2 rings Monterey

  • from Monterey (California, United States)

Got a call late last night, for 2 rings on Carmel Beach.  A fellow had been raking his hand through sand, clowning around with his lady friend.  All of the sudden noticed his ring missing.  And figured it must have come off in the beach sand that he had just had his hands in.  Although he wasn’t 100% certain if it had been gone prior to that, elsewhere on the beach.

They searched in vain for it.   And thought they could do an experiment by purposefully dropping her ring in the sand.  So that they could have an idea of how it looks when it hits the sand, etc…  So as to maybe help them figure out how to find his ring.   But ironically, after dropping hers to the sand in their experiment, IT TOO became lost.   Now they had two sentimental value rings missing.  Ouch !

They spent a good deal of time digging around, raking sand through with their fingers.  Then found the “TheRingfinders.com” metal detector rental site .  They had done a good job of putting a GPS pin on the location.   So I was able to get there middle of night, hike out in the dark to their exact pin.  Within 10 minutes had both rings.  They can now return to the east coast with their rings.

Thanks for the generous tip.   Glad to help.   Very nice couple.

Lost Charm bracelet found – Dauphin Island, Alabama

Night before last I got a call from Lacey asking if I could come find her sister Nichole’s lost James Avery charm bracelet in the sand at the beach. She had placed it in her chair cup holder, but apparently forgot and dumped it out when picking it up to put it away. It was very sentimental to her, as she told me she had been adding charms to it for several years. It was rather late and I was 45 minutes away so I promised I would come early the next morning. I arrived and was relieved to see that they were renting a vacation house directly on a small private beach. They had marked off a square where they thought it might be so I set off carefully gridding the area with my Equinox 800. Within minutes, I got a signal that was much deeper than I expected a fresh drop to be and definitely not as loud as I would have thought. First scoop – nothing. Second scoop – nothing. Third scoop – and there was her shiny silver bracelet sparkling in the dry sand. Nichole happily placed it back on her wrist and gave me a hug. I (as always !) turned down her offered reward and asked only for a picture of her smiling – the best reward ever !

Ring Returned to Owner In Norfolk!

  • from Virginia Beach (Virginia, United States)

As I was detecting in the water I saw a young boy with tears in his eyes because he had lost his ring. I got a good signal and saw it in my basket. I told him to look in my basket and it was the one he lost!

Lost diamond ring Naples Beach Pier Returned

  • from Marco Island (Florida, United States)

Diamond ring found naples pier Late Saturday afternoon I got an urgent call from Tara’s husband stating his wife just lost her engagement ring while swimming in the water.  Given the remnants of wind and waves produced by the passing tropical storm (Alex), a safe and effective search wasn’t immediately possible.  Well, after about 3 hours of searching the following afternoon, the desired target was found, safely in the scoop…not a “silver ring” but an absolutely gorgeous 14k white gold diamond engagement ring, actually two rings combined into one.  The story continues, the ring being on the finger it belongs.  No coincidences in Gods kingdom, just appointments.  Much to be thankful for 🙏🏻🎉👍🏻  Remember, it’s only lost until you call…Mark!!!

Lost Wedding Band Dropped From Boat Dock Found In Cape Carteret, NC

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Mike was earlier doing some cleaning using various soaps.  Later that evening while relaxing on his boat dock with his wife he began to clean some of the soap residue from his figures.  It was a relaxing afternoon to sit, relax and enjoy the view and a beverage.  Mike started to clean his ring finger when the ring shot off of his finger, over his back and into the Intracoastal Waterway.

After getting the details, a through search began in the very soft muck bottom.  After 3 pieces of garbage were removed from the bottom a very good tone sounded off from my Minelab Excalibur II very close to the dock post.  My Garrett AT Pro-Pointer was used to search the shallow water for the tone.  A handful of muck with a shell and Mike’s wedding band was brought out of the water while Mike stood over his ring as it was lifted from the waterway.

Vintage Family Ring Found…Souderton, Pa

  • from Ambler (Pennsylvania, United States)

I lost a vintage family ring while mowing the lawn. I contacted Rick after finding his info on The Ringfinders website. Rick responded quickly and was over the very next morning at 8:00 am with his buddy John. My ring and I were reunited in short order and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I would recommend both the Ringfinders service, and Rick and John to anyone around the Delaware Valley who may have lost a valuable. Thank you Rick and John!

Ring Found Pensacola Beach!

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

it was a beautiful day at Pensacola Beach but the Shorebreak was really pounding. Chris was on the edge of the water putting on his fins and mask to do some diving. The Shorebreak hit him, he tumbled a bit and lost his ring. His wife called me to see if I could help and I said I would try. They showed me about where the ring was lost and I was able to find it in an hour hour and a half. We got to talking, he was from Pensacola and so am I. It turned out that we’re distant cousins! They departed all smiles. I was glad I could help and now have another family link. I guess it’s truly a small world!

Lost Ring off the Pier – FOUND!!!

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

Stephen and his family were having a great Memorial Day weekend. They were enjoying all the things that this great country affords us and Stephen had even been able to go on a group motorcycle ride. They were capping off a fantastic weekend thanks to the men and women who died for our country to make that possible. Stephen ended it playing in the water at his Aunt’s pier with his children. That’s when I came into the picture. Stephen realized that his wedding ring had come off his hand most likely when catching the kids jumping into the water. He looked online and found my number and gave me a call. This was a pretty straightforward return only finding a few pieces of old Hurricane debris when I took a good look at the pier. Having two kids myself I immediately knew where I would have been if the situation was reversed. I walked out about neck deep where the slide emptied into the water. I figured that’s where Stephen would have spent a lot of the day catching kids. Immediately I got a great gold tone and scooped up Stephen’s ring. I’m glad I was able to make a great weekend even better Stephen. Thanks for calling.

Lost Rose Gold Men’s Ring Found in Fenton Michigan

Rockin’ The Pink….

….is what Nick chose to do not so much for the fashion trend or statement but to match his wife’s rose gold wedding ring. Alloying copper to the gold and silver gives the pink gold, rose gold and red gold rings just enough “pop” to be bold. Pictures don’t do them justice, you have to see them with your own eyes to experience the fire and brilliance they reflect. Just as there are many color variations with rose flowers, there are more than 10 color choices available for gold rings. While doing some yard work just before he was gonna stop to smell the roses he realized his ring was missing. Turning on and go with my MXT metal detector had me searching quickly on the small piece of property. No signals came thru until I got near the rose bushes near the patio then the MXT gave out a great tone. Reaching down into the new mulch revealed his rose gold ring! I waved for him to come over and see where it was. He reached down and lifted it into the air with excitement admiring the soft, fiery color tones in the sunlight. Enjoying the bliss of the recovery, the beauty of the roses will eventually fade, but Nick’s rosie was made to last forever.

Thunderstorm Wedding Ring Found! Elm Grove, Wisconsin

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

On Thursday, May 26, 2022, thunder, lightning and torrents of rain joined forces to demand the attention of long-time Elm Grove, Wisconsin resident, Michael Kelnhofer.

As Michael looked out into the storm he suddenly remembered that one of the down spouts from his roof was plugged. Not wanting to risk a flooded basement, he sprang into action. Grabbing a ladder from the garage he raced outside and began removing wet leaves and debris from the rain gutter with his hand. He threw each handful out into the garden area behind his house. It was only after he retreated back inside that Michael realized his wedding ring was missing! But it wasn’t just any wedding ring. The ring belonged to his dear father who had passed away four years prior. It was a precious keepsake! Indeed, Michael’s mother had given it to him when he was married. Now it was gone!

Michael and his wife searched frantically. They tried using a metal detector but the ground only emitted confusing chirps and cackles. Michael even hired a company to check the underground drainage from the house to the road in case the ring had gone down the drain. All to no avail. That’s when I received a text message asking for help. But as it turned out, I was preparing to leave the country early the next morning and was unable to respond immediately as I normally would do. And so, I arranged to search for Michael’s ring upon my return.

On Saturday, June 4th, I met Michael at his residence. As with all searches, I take a forensic approach, asking lots of questions. He showed me where he obtained the ladder and the pathway he took and the general grass area where he had thrown the debris from the roof. I noted the presence of bushes and foliage in the vicinity, places a ring might have gotten hung up. It is a matter of systematically eliminating where the ring is not.

For those interested, on this search I used an XP Deus II detector and 9” Coil. I had pretty much searched the entire backyard area and was moving towards the side of his house when I encountered a signal consistent with a 14k ring. Parting the thick grass, I confirmed its presence!

I left the ring in its place and called Michael over. Giving him a hand-held probe (pin-pointer), the kind we use for isolating targets, I showed him how it responded to the wedding ring on my own hand. He was impressed. Then I directed him to use the probe and check the grass area around our feet. When the pin-pointer sounded off it didn’t take long for Michael to locate his precious keepsake. The smile on his face tells the rest of the story.

And it is those emotional moments that make ring finding so meaningful!

TESTIMONIAL: Paul, first I want to say thank you for finding my wedding ring. There aren’t many items I have of my father that means as much as his wedding ring. Thank you for taking the time to search my yard and most importantly being so passionate about finding my ring. Thanks again Michael
