Man’s Yellow Gold Wedding Band Lost in the Sand, Found and Returned Pawley’s Island SC

On Friday, July 10, 2026, at 5:40 p.m. I received a voice mail saying, “Hi, my name is Park. I am staying on Pawley’s Island and lost a wedding band. I found this number as a ring finder.” I was able to get the call before he hung up and found out additional details. He told me that he had taken the ring off to apply suntan lotion before going out on the beach. He also stated that he took his ring off and set it on the banister. He believed it had fallen or gotten knocked off into the area around the porch. He also stated it may be on the beach in the dry sand but was more convinced it was around or under the porch. He also told me that they had to check out by 10 a.m. Saturday. We arranged for me to show up at 8 a.m. and check out both areas.

I arrived on time and talked with Park who showed me the area around the porch that he suspected the ring was. Luckily, the area was mostly dead leaves and a couple of sticker bushes. He told me the wedding band was yellow gold; I had my Equinox 800 so I knew the ring would show up in the 15-17, maybe 18 range on the VDI (visual display indicator) depending on the size of the ring. I searched all along the porch area and got nothing in the range I expected. From there, Park and I walked out to the beach, but Park wasn’t really sure the ring would be out there. He showed me the area and went back to the house to finish packing and loading the car. The area was maybe 15X20 ft and wouldn’t take long. I started an east/west grid line outside the suspected area. About my fifth or sixth line I got a solid 16 on the VDI and about 3-4 inches deep. I left my scoop in the car because I didn’t think I’d need it, wrong! I started sifting the sand through my fingers and saw Park’s yellow gold band lying in the hole I had made. Bingo!! I walked back to the house and knocked on the door. Park’s wife opened the door and called Park to come downstairs. About halfway down he asked if I had found it. I held it up and said, “Yes.” He instantly perked up and was so excited he had his ring back. I think it’s going to be a much happier ride home to DC.

When Sarah was married eleven years ago, she and her husband had a local jeweler design and create matching white gold wedding bands. Recently, while Sarah was teaching an outdoor yoga class to cancer patients at Red Butte Gardens, she lost her ring. After searching everywhere, retracing her steps, and looking anywhere the ring could possibly be, she called me. I was able to bring my metal detectors to Red Butte Gardens that same day, and after searching for only about five minutes, we found her ring!

Half of Pendants Lost in the Ocean Have Been Found Along North Carolina Shores

Emerald Isle, NC – Heather was swimming with her mother in chest deep water when she wanted to swipe some seaweed from her swim top.  Unfortunately, it was her gold necklace with 2 golden pendants attached that she snagged.  The chain broke and the charms disappeared.  Her mother posted on social media about the missing charms including a picture of a gold horn and gold cross.

After searching the area, I managed to dig up the golden horn and unfortunately after 4 attempts, have not found the golden cross.  Heather was thankful for getting the horn returned and hopefully we will meet one more time for her to retrieve her gold cross!

Lost platinum wedding ring, FOUND!

I received a call from Ed the other night. Ed explained that he was on the beach in Wildwood Crest NJ enjoying some time with family and in the surf with his son tossing a football. At some point during his visit, Ed’s platinum wedding band slipped off his finger unbeknownst to him. Ed wasn’t entirely sure “when” he lost his ring but he was fairly certain that it was somewhere on the beach or in the surf. First thing, the next morning, I rode over to Lotus Ave and met Ed on the beach. Ed showed me the specific areas he was at the day before and pointed out the approximate area he was at in the surf. The tide was already about an hour and a half incoming so I checked where he had been sitting and all of the remaining wet and shallow surf. I knew chances would be much better if I searched at dead low tide so I planned on returning later in the afternoon when the tide was low. I rode back over in the afternoon, about an hour before low tide, and began searching the shallow water. After about 60 minutes of searching I managed to pull a butterfly ring and a few other coins and trash targets. About ten minutes later I swung my coil over a clean, distinct signal. After two scoops, Ed’s ring appeared from the water in my scoop! I texted Ed the good news and he immediately came back down to the beach to retrieve his ring, in total amazement! Another happy ending, another satisfied client!

Late Friday afternoon on July 3rd, I received an urgent phone call from Susan.

Earlier that day, her daughter Lucy was in the water at Mother’s Beach in Kennebunk, Maine, throwing a football around with a group of 15–20 family and friends.

As Susan and Lucy hugged, Susan pointed to the scoop and told Lucy to go get her ring.💍

The moment Lucy picked it up, her dad, Alex, stepped in for a massive “Dad Hug.” 🥰

Cheryl and I were absolutely beaming, knowing we could bring this family such massive relief.

Bradley lost an anchor cross that had been given to him by his grandmother, in the sand at the beach. This was very sentimental to him, and I let him know I was available to come immediately to do a search.

When I arrived Bradley explained to me what he believed happened to cause the loss, and showed me the area. I began the search, and worked in a tight grid, finding a few pieces of trash metal. Then on one pass, I got a very strong signal, dug, and had this beautiful piece of jewelry in my scoop. I held it up for him wherein he became very emotional because of how much it meant to him. Gold Tooth Grill Lost in the Soft Sand, Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

This search started just after 1 pm, on July 10, 2026, when I received a text message saying, “Hello, is this Jim Wren.” I responded, “Yes.”  Then I get, “Hi, I was recommended to you off the internet and I was wondering if I could use your help? I have a custom gold tooth set I dropped in the sand, I recovered two of them, but I can’t find the last one. It was 3 pieces all together.” I called her and got additional details, including the address and was on my way.

When I arrived at the address she gave me, I wasn’t close to the beach, so I called her and asked for the resort name, which she provided. I ended up at the resort and had to explain what I was there for to the security guard at the front gate. He seemed reluctant but let me through to park. My second obstacle was the gate guard at the resort’s swimming pool. I made my way through the swimming area and out on the boardwalk looking out at the huge crowd on the beach. I called the young lady, Trejour and told her where I was standing. She ended up being down the beach and she called when she saw me. She showed me the very small area, and I asked for one of the other grill teeth so I could test it. It rang up as a 2-3 on the Equinox 800 VDI (visual display indicator). I made a couple of swings and hit a solid 4 on the VDI. I was able to use my pin pointer to hit the target, but I still had to sift the sand through my fingers to find the missing grill. She was extremely happy when I handed it back to her.

Lost ring in Superior Wisconsin lake found!

While many were celebrating the 4th of July festivities, this unfortunate incident occurred: a recently engaged couple lost their ring after swimming.

The ring had been placed on a hat before they went into the water because they knew it could be lost while swimming. Unfortunately, the hat was put on before the ring was removed, sending the ring into approximately three feet of water next to a dock. Family and friends searched frantically but were unsuccessful.

After a thorough search, the ring was successfully recovered. Thankfully, this 4th of July incident turned out with a bang.

Elyse reached out to me about a class ring she lost in front of her house. She was doing something while getting into a car and it flew off her finger. We made arrangements and I went out the next morning to see if I could help find the ring.
