Graduation Party, Craw-fish, Nerf Guns and a Lost 2016 Texas A&M Class Ring

Jack called regarding his lost 2016 Texas A&M class ring, at a craw-fish boil graduation party in La Marque, Texas.

Jack said during the party, some of the kids starting shooting Nerf bullets at the grown up participants. Jack said, after getting hit a few times he grabbed a craw-fish and sent it flying in the direction of his adversary.

Jack said he realized a few minutes later his class ring was missing from his finger. Jack said everyone at the party helped look for his ring, but it was no where to be found. Jack said the next day he purchased a metal detector at Academy and went back to search again, but he still had no luck finding his ring.

Jack told me the metal detector was confusing to use, and it seemed to make noise on just about anything and everything. Jack said after that experience he went on the internet to look for help.

Texas A&M Class Ring lost in 4 foot of water at Jamaica Beach, Texas (found) by John Volek

I was contact by Megan last week regarding her boyfriends lost Texas A&M class ring at Jamaica Beach. Megan said, she and her boyfriend Gary were down at Jamaica Beach for the weekend, and Gary had lost his class ring today in the surf. Megan said they were throwing a football in knee deep water when Gary’s ring came of and landed in the water. Megan said they immediately began searching for the ring, but they just couldn’t find it. Megan said they went back out to the same location at 2am in the morning during low tide to search again, but they still could not find his ring.

Megan said, she searched the internet and found “The Ringer Finders” and placed the call!

Megan and Gary were still at Jamaica Beach when she rang, and she was given instructions to take photographs of their location and of any other physical landmarks present. Megan sent several picture the following day which where instrumental in the recovery of Gary’s ring.

I made the trip down a few days later, and used Megan’s information to navigate to the correct location on the beach.

Contacted by Damon, regarding his lost wedding ring at his home in Houston, Texas

Damon said, while sitting on his patio he had taken off his wedding ring to dry of his hands. He reported, that a few minutes later he had stood up and the ring flew of his lap and landed in the deep grass in his backyard. After searching for the ring himself, he researched the internet and found ‘The Ring Finders” and placed the call!

Found lost Wedding Ring East Spokane

The weeds were at it again. This time a hard working gardener was trying to be wise while tending to her garden beds and took off her rings. After placing them in her pants pocket the inevitable had begun. She remembered taking  her fit bit out of her pocket but not the rings. So the next morning when she saw that her rings were not on, she looked in her pants but only found her engagement ring. Two days of searching went by with no sign of the ring. She even rented a metal detector and tried looking for the ring, with no instructions  from the rental company.  Then on Google with a few key phrases Diane found me through my Craigslist post. I showed up that Sunday afternoon with a confidence that her back yard was hiding something from her. I swung over the area where she took out her fit bit without finding the ring, so I decided to grid the whole back yard. It took two grid lines to get me near the ring. Then my V3i detector screamed at me. I looked down in the grass as I pinpointed and saw the golden rim of her ring. It is so much fun to be out there trying to find lost items. This was the first ring find of the summer for me and I’m glad Diane has her 32 year old wedding ring back on her hand.

FINALLY! I Found Owner of Lost Ring West Yarmouth, Cape Cod MA.

Last summer while waving to his children that were on the beach, Ron’s ring took a slide off his finger and a plunge into the water. As hard and long as Ron tried to find his ring, he had no success. He and his wife decided to enjoy the rest of their vacation and left a note with the property owners should some one find and turn in the lost wedding band. Months passed and having very little luck in finding anything I started detecting the lesser used, private beaches. Late in December I found Ron’s ring. The property was closed for the winter and would not re-open until mid-May.

Mid-May came and I called the property office. I did not get a chance to fully describe the ring I had found before Heather was telling me of the entire inscription and where and how the ring was lost. Due to their privacy policy Heather could not give me the owner’s information. But she said she would contact the owner and have him call me.

Ron and I played phone tag for the next day. We FINALLY connected and after confirmation was made I mailed the ring the next day – Friday. I was informed that the package would be delivered on Tuesday. It is hard to believe but the package was delivered Saturday – the next day. FINALLY the ring was back where it belonged, on Ron’s finger. During our conversation I had to ask. . .what was the meaning of FINALLY being engraved on the inside of the ring. It seems Ron and Mary had known each other since early grade school. They were friends, but never close until many years lafter. It took a long time for their true love to FINALLY blossom. Now they have been married for 13 wonderful years. It was worth my and their wait to FINALLY reveal the story. I always enjoy being part of a ring return with smiles.

I was contacted by Kathy last week regarding her son’s lost Texas A&M class ring. Kathy reported her son’s ring had been lost during a roll over accident in Sealy, Texas .

Kathy said her son reported that his ring was in the cup holder in the center console at the time of the crash. Kathy said they have been through her son’s wrecked vehicle several time, and have looked at the crash site numerous times and haven’t been able to find the ring.

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Turtle Bay North Shore…FOUND!!!

This ring find began Tuesday 24 May when I was called by Keith from Sulphur, Louisiana. While on his honeymoon in the water at Turtle Bay lagoon in chest deep water his gold wedding band fell off. He knew where it fell and he tried to find it by snorkeling. As with many other places on Oahu the fine white sand consumed the ring from sight. I searched for over an hour and a half only finding a dime & a rivet. The tide was bringing the surf in so I had to abandon my search. I assumed some metal detectorist had found it. Turtle Bay is detected quite heavily because so many tourists lose jewelry in the water there. I put a post on my Facebook page in hopes someone would come forward with Keith’s ring. It was inscribed 14K CLASSIC. This ring had tremendous sentimental value as it came from Keith’s Grandpa. I notified my fellow detectorist Mike who is very adept with the Surf PI Dual Field. If for some reason Keith’s ring was just buried too deep for the Excalibur Mike is my go to guy for deep targets. Mike had detected Turtle Bay the previous weekend and said it was fairly sterile. So on Saturday while eating lunch with an old Navy buddy Mike called and said he found the ring. He decided to go back to Turtle Bay and give it a spin. I thank God he did. It so happened Mike found the ring further out and more to the left then Keith had thought he dropped it. I’m sure it was low tide and Keith didn’t realize how far out he really was. About 2 foot difference between high & low tide can be a big difference when hunting for rings. Had it been calmer and a low tide I might have found the ring myself. I met Mike near Pearl Harbor and he transferred the ring to me so I could get it back to Keith. I immediately took a photo when I got home and sent it to Keith. Within just a few minutes I got a text saying “That’s it I’m so appreciative” Ring finding teamwork is always great. Mahalo Mike for being such a committed and determined detectorist. We both send Aloha to Keith.

Lost 14k White & Yellow Gold Ring Recovered on 6/02/16 in Lake Gaston, Boydton Va.

I recovered and returned this Lost gold wedding  ring on 6/02/16 for nice gentleman named Jason who had lost it in Lake Gaston.  I won’t go into to much detail but  the ring was recovered in about 8 feet of water in about 26 minutes.. Even though this recovery did not take long, it was a tough search as there was no visibility when diving. Even with a good light there was only 5 inches visibility. It was like diving in pitch black water. In order to locate the ring I had to go on sound and feel only as I could not see anything and the bottom was littered with trash signals. I would not recommend diving in this lake unless you are a experienced diver.   Here are some photos of the ring . It was a pleasure to help him out. And i’m glad he was able to get it back.

Monday 05/31/2016 Memorial Day

Justin reported he had been at the Friendship Church in Richmond, and while participating in an un-scheduled water balloon fight, he lost his 4 week old University of Texas at El-Paso class ring.

Justin said several hours have been spent looking for the ring, but after no luck, he decided to search for some help! Justin said he came across “The Ring Finders” on the internet and placed the call.

It’s clear from Justin’s smile, things worked out well!

House and Car Key FOB Lost in the Surf – Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC

I got a phone call and referral from my son-in-law on some lost keys. He gave me the location and details and I met Kimberly about 10 minutes later on the beach. Kimberly told me that her brother and cousin had been fishing about 11pm the night before and when her brother got back to the resort he didn’t have his house or BMW key FOB. Figuring out the tides for the previous evening I realized I had a very short window of opportunity to try and find the keys before high tide. There was a big drain pipe on the beach and that was the reference point both as the center point for north and south (both about 40 yards wide) and the starting point seaward. By the time I started my grid line the end of the pipe was already underwater and the waves were building. After about an hour of searching I called Kimberly and left a message that I’d be back in about 3 hours to work the outgoing tide.

Around 5 o’clock I arrived back on the beach and started working the outgoing tide, still a little rough but manageable. After another hour and a half of grid searching and finding some change, bottle caps, pull tabs and some wire I got a good strong shallow signal. Bingo, I had the keys in my scoop. I took a picture and sent it to Kimberly asking her “do these look familiar”. I then called her and asked if she got my text, she looked at her text messages and I could hear her in the background tell her family “he found the keys!!! She came back on the phone, thanked me and said her brother was still in town and she was going to call him and give him my number. Within a minute Kevin was on the line saying I can’t believe you found them, I thought I’d never see them again. We met in the Walmart parking lot 10 minutes later and Kevin had his keys back. Kimberly had told me that Kevin was in the US Army and stationed at Fort Bragg, so when we met I gave him a hand salute and shook his hand. He had had a spare key FOB but his dog had pretty much chewed it up but it could still be used. When I handed him his keys back he hit the lock/unlock buttons on the FOB and surprisingly after being buried in the sand submerged below the surf for roughly 18 hours the key FOB still worked!!!!
