Lost Custom Made Wedding Ring at Huntington Beach Pier… Returned to Newlywed

Metal  Detecting service available for Huntington City Beach .. Call or Text Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136

*** A guy named Sindha called me on week day night just after he lost his Silver Wedding Ring at Huntington City Beach. This was lost in the dry sand just as the sun set.  He had been brushing sand off his clothes after sitting when his wedding ring flew off his finger.

Sindha has only been married less than two months so this was traumatic for he and his wife. Very frustrating searching through the sand with their fingers as the cold wind got more intense. They called me for help after searching the internet for information about metal detecting services.

This location of the loss was very close to the Huntington Beach Pier where the beach sifting machines clean every evening, starting after 10 pm. If the machines miss it. The ring would not have survived the recreational metal detectorists that work this area of the beach everyday.

Knowing the urgency of this search, I was able to meet them soon after the call and before the beach closed. It was a quick recovery because they didn’t waste too much time trying to find the ring by hand searching or trying to rent a metal detector. It also helped that they were still at the beach, so they put me in a 20’x20’ area.

It was a pleasure to be available to help such a nice couple. I love this hobby.

*** Fran called me asking how my metal detecting service works. I gave her the basic explanation. I did need to know details of her loss before I could commit  to a search.  “She never told me that the loss happened 9 years ago, until after I found the ring.”

She told me that she had been doing her nails while sitting on a sofa. She put three rings on the arm rest of the sofa. Later she could only find two of the three rings. She and her husband searched and couldn’t find the diamond engagement ring. I told her that the large detectors will not work inside a home, but I have a endoscope camera and a few other tools for search indoors and cars.

This sounded easy because I figured it was in the sofa or got kicked off under another piece of furniture.

When I met her at the address she gave me, she told me the sofa was now at her father’s home.  That only leaves the sofa to search.  All the time she never mentioned the loss occurred in 2014, nine years ago.

The gaps on the bottom side of the cushion didn’t allow fingers to reach to the bottom of the lining. I pushed the endoscope into the narrow space and  “Boom” .. a peanut, a dime and a beautiful diamond engagement ring.

Fran came in from the other room and was so surprised. that was when she told me how long it had been missing. She told me she had given up years ago and her friend told her about my service, asking her to try me.

I love these miracle recoveries. I’m also pretty sure I would have not been so willing to try if she told me the loss happened so many years ago and the sofa was not in the same house where the ring was lost. I guess things happen the way they are supposed to happen.

*** Marlo’s father, Bob called me asking for information on how the ringfinders service works. his daughter had lost a sentimental gold ring at her work place. He bought a metal detector to find  the ring in wood chips of a children’s play area. Bob realized quickly that the detector was not able to locate the ring. He had never used a metal detector before, so it just added to the frustration.

We arranged to get on the private school property in the evening after school students were not there. Bob met me there where security people accompanied us to the area of the loss. Marlo was there to explain that one of her young 7 years old students ask to see Marlo’s gold ring. A couple minutes later the little girl had dropped the ring in the wood chips.

It helps a lot to hear the whole story of the loss from the person that lost the item. I turned on my detector and shortly realized why her father was having problems with his detector. There was massive interference with EMI ( electrical magnetic interference ) .. I adjusted my metal detector to tune out the interference. A couple minutes later after digging a coin and a screw, I was able to find the small gold ring, Marlo and her father were very impressed to see how efficient a proper metal detector could find a small gold ring.

Marlo was so happy that her father had found my service to help her find a sentimental ring that was a gift from her mother. Rings have so much meanings for people. I wish I could have found the owners of rings that I have found over the past 50 years. The internet has changed that, now people can find help.

*** Dennis had lost his gold wedding band of 70 years. He had been doing work on his landscaping in the front of his home in Westminister , CA.  Later that evening while at the dinner table he noticed that his 70 year old wedding ring was missing. Both he and his wife were upset about the loss.

After a week of searching inside and outside the house, Dennis believed the most likely place the ring could be was in a very dense 7 ft. high bush next to his garage. Searching visually had limitations. He asked me to search this bush believing it was the only place he had not searched well.

Dennis was so sure the ring was in that bush, said it was the only place he wanted me to search. I was going to bring a battery operated leaf blower to my tools. Also, it sounded like I would be using handheld pinpointer ( probably on an extension stick). The vegetation may be too thick to use normal metal detector.

The bush was very thick and I agreed with Dennis that this could be a place the ring could be hiding. After over an hour of thoroughly search the suspected bush, I asked Dennis where else he had been that day the ring was lost. He pointed to a planter with a small ornamental tree and a few sparse plants. The rest is history, yep, it was a Boom! The ring was actually visible under one of the plants. Yes! the plants he had searched through thoroughly before I came with my tools. There is a chance that the leaf blower freed the ring from the branches or leaves. Another case where it’s hard to know what really happened.

Both Dennis an his wife appreciated the recovery of their ring he has worn 70 years of their marriage.

Gold Ring Lost off Boardwalk at Laguna Main Beach, CA. Found During Nighttime Search

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Metal Detector Man searching service is available now for you. 24/7 ..  Call or text  .. 949-500-2136

*** Lost Ring calls at the beach seem to come after people have spent hours looking for the ring. Sometimes the delay of contacting an experienced ringfinder is because they returned home where they could go online to get information about buying or renting a metal detector. Many calls come after dark.

Steve and his wife, Li had been walking the boardwalk at Laguna Beach, CA. Li dropped her gold ring near the edge of the wooden boardwalk. She wasn’t sure if it had fallen in the sand or that the ring fell into the cracks between the boards. The way the boardwalk is constructed, there is no access under the walkway. Hopefully the ring didn’t drop, through the cracks.

Most people don’t understand how a metal detector works. Before beginning the grid search, I told them that I could only search the accessible sand. I know  my metal detector could find the ring if it is there. I try to explain this to people prior to doing a search,  so they don’t get disappointed if the ring is not found. Many times the people are satisfied that the search area has been cleared by an experienced metal detector expert.

This was one of the quick easy searches. The ring had fallen in the sand just 3 feet from the edge of the boardwalk. Making it simple to find with my state of the art metal detector equipment. It was easier because Steve and Li called me soon after she felt it slip off her finger. They also marked the location and waited there till I arrived.

After finding Li’s sentimental gold ring . It was exciting for me to see how happy she was when I found her ring. I know it probably has important personal memories for her.

Gold Necklace Pendant Lost on Grass Football Field Found .. Westminister , CA.

*** Antonio lost a gold pendant at a Westminister, CA. park while playing football with his friends. He was sure the pendant was on the grassy field . He called me after he had another guy search for it with a metal detector.

I met him late in the afternoon to get an idea of where he thought it may have come off. A football field is a massive area which could take me 5 or 6 hours if it wasn’t there or I missed it.

Antonio was very upset as this was a gift from his mother who had recently passed away. Actually he was going to be attending her funeral. The next day while I was doing the search.

My game plan was to separate the large area in five sections. Starting with Area #1 center of field. Areas  #2 and #3 the ends nearest the goal lines. Lastly, areas #4 and #5  would be grid searched.

The pendant was found in the first search area after an hour and a half of slow and low meticulous swinging of my Minelab Manticore metal detector. Searches can be quick if you start in the right spot. “ Some say it’s a game of inches.”

We were lucky this time and it was an emotional return as Antonio had been at the funeral and didn’t know the pendant was found till later that day.

Gold Ring Lost in Backyard of a Long Beach, CA. Private Residence

*** Will was building a storage shed in his backyard. Later that evening while inside his house he noticed his gold wedding ring was not on his finger. He never felt it come off. This is normal because when people wear rings for many years, the ring can still feel like it’s on.

He called me explaining the circumstances of his loss. He couldn’t remember exactly when he last saw the ring before discovering his ring missing. It could be anywhere. We set up a day that I could search his backyard as that was where he had done a lot of activity, moving construction materials with high grass that could hide a small gold ring.

The game plan was to eliminate the backyard using a metal detector. If that was unsuccessful we had many other places that a metal detector may not be able to be used. We didn’t waste time discussing all the other areas the ring could be. It’s a process of elimination, one area at a time. Why get yourself confused with all the possibilities.

Metal detectors are a great tool for finding lost rings, but they do have limitations. So I used the my metal detector in the yard, where it works the best.

Sometimes you start in the right place, which was what happened this day.. 20 minutes in the backyard grass .. BOOM!  Will’s gold ring was found near his small construction project.

He was inside at the time of the recovery. When he came out to see how I was doing , I was able to surprise him.. and able to show him where it had been hiding.

*** Joey contacted me needing help to find a diamond engagement his wife lost in ankle deep water at a Southern California Beach. I told him we only had a few hours before high tide. I suggested that he call another detector guy closer to the location.  If the guy couldn’t do the search, call me back.

Joey called me back giving me the general area. I said it would take me about an hour and half to get there. It would be necessary to be able to have Monique present to hear her describe how and where the loss occurred.

We all showed up at the same time. The tide was low enough to use the detector without getting wet.

Monique’s beautiful diamond engagement ring was exactly where she had been collecting sea shells, already 2” deep in wet sand.

Timing is very important especially for losses that happen on public beaches with tides that change from minus -1.0 ft. low tide to plus + 5.6 ft. high tide.

Don’t waste your time renting or buying a cheap metal detector. If you don’t have any experience operating one, it could be very frustrating. Let me come to you with the best equipment available and experience for recovering all types of sentimental keepsakes. Stan the Metal Detector Man.. Mobile metal detecting service .. 949-500-2136
