Lost Vintage 24-carat gold necklace & charm reunited with owner in Peachtree City, GA

  • from Newnan (Georgia, United States)

Last week, I was contacted by a family in Peachtree City, GA that had recently lost a 24-carat gold necklace. It had a unique bell charm attached. This was a family heirloom that the Mother had received as a child. They had no clue exactly where it had been lost, but they had searched for days without success. Yesterday, they took me around the yard and showed me where she had been doing some yard work. So this morning I fired up my metal detector and began my search. It only took 20 minutes to locate the target – it was under 2″ of mulch right next to one of the bushes. They were flabbergasted. It was such a good feeling to be able to recover this piece for them.

Lost 24k Gold Wedding Ring Recovered in Atlanta, GA

  • from Newnan (Georgia, United States)

Hamil in Atlanta contacted me about his recently lost wedding ring. He had just finished some yardwork and was standing on his raised porch brushing grass off his pants when his ring came off. He heard it “ping” on the rocks below but after hours of searching, he was unable to find it. He continued his visual search for a few days, but was still not able to locate the ring. He described the ring as a 24k gold band with he and his wife’s initials engraved on the inside of the band. I began my search by working the grassy area in a grid pattern. I found several pull tabs, a key, and other various metal objects, but no ring. Next, I searched in the landscaped area which is covered in river rocks but still no ring. After 2 hours of searching, I mentioned to him the only place I am unable to search is near the metal edging separating the river rocks from his grass. So he pulled up the metal edging so I could search that ground. Sure enough, after just a few more minutes of searching, I got a soft 50 signal on my Equinox 900 and out popped his gold wedding ring! Hamil was thrilled to have his ring back!

Dan in Sharpsburg, GA contacted me about a hearing aid he recently lost while doing yard work. Fortunately, he had a good idea of where it came off which greatly helped reduce the search area. It took a few hours, but I finally got my metal detector over it and was able to recover it and return it to him in one piece this morning.
