Diamond wedding Ring Lost in Grass in Long Beach, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

I got a call from Jay this morning asking for help in finding his wife’s wedding ring. He had been at a place of business the night before, holding his wife’s ring in his pocket. When he reached in to get his keys, the action inadvertently pulled the ring out also. It was at night which made the search very difficult, but they did look very long and hard for it. They could not find it, so he came back this morning, and spent about 3 more hours looking, but to no avail. we agreed to meet at the spot of loss later in the afternoon.

I got there a little before Jay, and could see deep grass, so I could understand where their search would have been difficult, but it also gave me some relief, to know that it would not have been seen by a casual passerby, and taken. It was also white gold, which can be a little hard to see in grass because its mirror finish reflects the grass, making it look like grass itself. Well Jay showed me the area he believed the loss to have occurred, and I began my search. I worked through the area finding a few deep targets, but no ring. At each target I would let Jay know if it wasn’t the sound I was looking for or not. I then went to a different mode on the detector to make sure there was nothing being missed, still no ring. I then noticed Jay looking in the grass over in an area he had not pointed out, so I figured he must have been mulling over what had happened, and realizing that he may have been in an area different than what he originally thought. I started searching the new area, and had a target that was near the surface, but I thought too deep. I dug the target, but it turned out to be a small piece of construction material. I walked a few more steps, and got another deep target. One more sweep, and then got the shallow tone I was looking for, I looked up at Jay and said, “Now this one sounds good”. I pulled out the pin pointer, put it in the grass, and there was his wife’s ring. When he saw it he just could not believe it. He told me that they had just got married in April, so this loss meant a whole bunch to them. What a pleasure to bring the joy back to couples, especially newlyweds.

Intertwined Platinum and Gold Wedding Ring Lost at Zuma Malibu Beach, CA…Found and Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

While out detecting today I received a call from Ian who told me how he had lost his wedding ring after surfing yesterday, and wanted help in finding it. I arranged to meet his employee Dave in about 1 1/2 hours because of Los Angeles traffic. Ian and Dave had been surfing yesterday, but before they entered the water Ian realized he still had his ring on, so prudentially he removed it and put in his tight fitting wetsuit and went into the water. After a good session of gliding on the water, he got back to the car, and proceeded to take off the wetsuit forgetting for a moment that the ring was there. It didn’t take long for him to realize that it had disappeared into the beach sands.

Well I met Dave at the appointed spot, and he showed me where they thought it might have fallen. I then got to work, finding bottle caps and other pieces of metal. It took about 10 minutes, and then there was that sound I was expecting. Dave had done well to put me in the right spot, which saved time in the search. he told me that Ian had been distraught over the loss, so I knew there would be joy in his house tonight, and sweet sleep. So happy to be of service, and to supply joy to those who have lost the things that mean so much.

Ian sent the following testimonial:

Greetings,

My wife and I would like to thank you so much for finding my lost wedding ring. After getting out of the ocean at Zuma Beach I completely forgot that I had put my ring inside my wetsuit. I stripped off my wetsuit while standing in very deep sand despite all kinds of instinctual internal voices telling me that I should be peeling on a better surface. Hours later my wife asked me how my surf session was and I realized that I had no ring on. The evening had set and I knew that I was going to be unable to seek out my ring. Fortunately my good friend Dave volunteered the next day to put some energy into trying to find what truly was a needle in a haystack. After his searching and scooping the area that I hoped I had dropped my ring, I had given up. Then Dave asked, “What about Ring Finders.com?” A few minutes later I was speaking to Steve who generously volunteered to go to Zuma Beach after he finished a search in Venice for a misplaced phone. It took Steve less than 5 minutes to find my ring nearly a foot beneath the surface of the sand.
Angels come in many forms and I feel truly blessed to have encountered such an amazing and generous soul.
My ring is a matching ring to my wife’s and it’s loss would have been sad. We have always told our 2 children that they will each inherit one so thank you, thank you, thank you.

Platinum Wedding Band Lost in Park in Santa Monica, CA…Found and Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

I received a call from Jessica Sunday afternoon regarding her husband’s ring that came off while he was pushing their son on the swings at their local park. I told her that I would be happy to help, so we made arrangements. She sent me the address of the park, and I made my way over.

When I got there, Jessica’s husband Joshua, and their son met me, and showed me the area of the loss. He showed me where he was standing, and where he thought the ring may have landed. He said they had looked for it, and resolved that it just might be gone for good. I could see the drag marks in the sand from their previous search. I was standing back about 10 feet from that area when I turned my machine on. I lifted it up, moved the coil, and heard that unmistakable sound in my head phones, put my scoop in, and showed Joshua his ring in the bottom of my scoop; about 10 seconds in all. I was almost standing on top of it as we were discussing the loss. Needless to say he was amazed, and so grateful to have his ring back. It is so awesome to be able to be that person to hand back to someone like Joshua, something so sentimental that he thought was lost for good. Another great day.

Diamond Stud Earring Lost in Cemetery in Valencia, CA…Found and Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

I received a call from Arvin last night asking if I would be able to help find a lost diamond stud earring in a cemetery. I told him I would help him only after we went to the main office, and received permission to do the search. I did let him know ahead of time, that diamond stud earrings are one of the hardest pieces of jewelry to find, because they are made with such a small amount of metal. We agreed to meet today at about 3:00 PM.

When we met, Arvin’s wife Larraine explained that it was their daughter Lauren who had lost the earring. Lauren’s grandmother had given her those earrings, so there was a very strong sentimental value attached to the missing jewelry. Larraine, Lauren and I went to the office where they explained what had happened, and I said that I would only be there for that particular search and then leave, so the manager gave us the go ahead for the search. When Arvin took us to the area, he and Lauren showed me the boundaries, and explained that Lauren had been holding her baby brother while the family were paying respects to Larraine’s grandparents. While Lauren had her brother, he reached up out of curiosity, grabbed her earring, and pulled it right out of her ear. She reached up, and all she had was the back stuck to her ear. They checked the brother’s hand, no earring. They checked the mat Lauren was sitting on, no earring. They then deducted that it had fallen into the thick grass. The family had searched for the earring for 2 days without success, so Lauren went to the internet, and found me on The Ring Finders site.

I began by testing my equipment on the remaining earring, and was able to get about 1 to 1 1/2 inches on the detector. I then checked my pin pointer, and it had to touch the earring in order to get a response, so I knew I had to pin point well with my detector. I was receiving many signals, many were too strong, but checked them all. I searched the original area I was shown, but did not find it. Then moved a few feet lower, and received a faint signal. I put the pin pointer in the thick grass, and got a response. I kept the pin pointer in the grass as I moved the grass around. I could hear the pin pointer, and was looking at the earring which I could barely see in the dirt below the grass, but there it was. I grabbed it by the shank, brought it up, and held it out for Lauren, she and her father were totally surprised. One of the hardest items to recover, found and returned. Needless to say, we all felt real good at that moment.

Lauren sent the attached testimonial:

On Sunday, April 30, 2017 I lost my diamond stud earring in the grass at Eternal Valley Cemetery. My little brother accidentally took it off my ear and it fell somewhere. We looked for two days but we couldn’t find it. On Monday, May 1, 2017 that night I searched up on google how to find an earring in the grass” and that’s where I found out about this website called, The Ring Finders. I read through the website and it said something about someone being able to find their diamond stud earring, in the grass with the help of whoever is in charge of this website. I looked for more information and then I read a name. Steve. And so I assumed that he was in charge of this website. And I was right. His number was there, so I tried calling him. We arranged a meeting for the next day, May 2, 2017 and that’s on a Wednesday. At 3pm. At first, I was hesitant. Although I’ve read his blogs about him being able to help some people, I was still a little worried. I thought, would he really be able to help us look for my earring? Because I know we’ve looked for two days and we didn’t find it. But I took my chances. I knew that diamond earring had a sentimental value to me, so I just hoped he would be able to help us. And he did! It took him an hour and I almost thought he would never find it, but he did. He found it. We were all so happy. My parents, and especially me. It was really unexpected, but with the help of Steve and his equipments, my earring was found. I can attest to this event, and I am a witness that The Ring Finders is legit.

Sincerely,

Lauren

Lost IPhone at Santa Monica Beach, CA…Found and Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

Clark called late afternoon yesterday saying that he had lost a cell phone at the beach, and was wondering if I could help. I was not able to go immediately, but let him know that I could go later. He decided to continue his search, and I offered some tips on how do the search himself. When I was able to go, I had not heard back from Clark, and thought they must have found the phone, but decided to call and check anyway. I was surprised, they did not find it, but I was hoping they would have called back. I asked him if they were still at the beach, and he said no, they had gone home, which was about 2 hours away. I then offered to still go and do the search, it was about 7:15 PM, so Clark gave me very good directions to the area they believed the loss occurred, in and around some swing-sets.

I got to the area about 8:30 PM, and was immediately discouraged, because the swings were full of young people enjoying themselves, and I wondered if I would get a chance to work the spot. People started to leave which gave me my opportunity. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for me to located the phone. I sent Clark a text that I had found the phone, and he asked for a photo of it to be sure. When he realized it was the phone he asked to meet and get it that night. I realized it must have some important information; maybe some medical information, or serious business contacts, I just did not know, so I told him no problem, whatever it was going to take. It was going to take almost 2 hours for them to meet with me, so I chose a coffee shop, and said I would wait for him there.

When Clark arrived, his girlfriend Aimee was with him, and it turned out that it was her phone. What a great guy Clark is to have coordinated all of this for his girlfriend. Also the importance of the phone was severe, because Aimee had an college exam on Monday, and all the information needed to study and take the exam was on that phone. I can’t think of a more stressful situation for a young person than that. I was sure happy to unite her with her phone, and make her day.

Vintage Diamond Ring Lost at Winery in Malibu, CA…Found in a most Precarious Place and Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

I was on my way to metal detect one of the beaches today, so I guess it was appropriate for me to get the call from Cassandra about losing her ring yesterday. She had been at a winery, and out on the back balcony when she inadvertently dropped  her ring. Below was a narrow ledge where she saw the ring fall to, and was certain it was still there.

When I met Cassandra at the winery she took me to the area, which was very steep. The ledge she believed the ring to have fallen onto was about 1 foot wide, and thickly covered in grass and bushes. The ledge was also about 20 feet above a shallow concrete creek bed. I first went down to see how difficult it would be to use my equipment, and decided I could do it. When I got back with my equipment she pointed out the spot she believed the ring had fallen. With one hand holding onto the rocks, I proceeded to scan the area with my 6 inch coil. It wasn’t long before I received a good signal. I pulled out my pin pointer to check, and when I moved some of the shrubs I saw the ring positioned precariously on the very edge of the ledge. I then gingerly reached down and plucked it from danger, and showed it to a very excited Cassandra. I believe her smile tells it all. What fun, what a great day!

Palladium Wedding Ring Lost at Hermosa Beach, CA…Found and Joyously Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

Yesterday evening I received a call from Brooke regarding the loss of her husband’s wedding ring at the beach, and wondering if I would be able to help them. I asked a few questions, and finding out they were pretty close told her I could be there in about 20 minutes. They had already left the beach after spending about 3 hours searching for the lost ring (I’m sure very discouraged), when they found me on the Internet, and agreed to go back to show me where the ring came off.

When I got there, I met Brooke (and their little one) who took me out to the area of the loss, where I met her husband Nick. Nick showed me the area which he had drawn out by lines in the sand; it was an area about 12-15 foot square. He showed me the exact spot he believed the ring came off, and I could see they had done a lot of digging there. Nick told me how he moved the sand he already searched through to another spot within the marked off area. I started my search, and when I reached the area that the sand had been moved to, I got a good solid signal in my headphones. I dug once and missed, I checked again and dug a second time, getting a nice silver looking ring in my scoop. I showed Nick and Brooke that I had found the ring to their surprise. Nick acknowledged that he must have thrown the ring over to the other area not knowing that he had it in his hands at one time during his search. After their 3 hours of searching, it took no more than 5 minutes on my part to reunite Nick with his token of commitment to Brooke. Great day, and great smiles all around.

Wedding Ring Lost at Hermosa Beach, CA…Found and Returned.

I had been at the market this Saturday afternoon, and just pulled up in front of the house about 1:00 PM, when I received a call from Mike who had lost his ring in the sand earlier in the day. He is on vacation from Michigan, and did not want to leave his token of love behind in California. I told him I would be there in 1/2 an hour, and got ready to go.

I met Mike at the location, and he took me out to the spot of the loss. We went over what he believed had happened to cause the loss, and I agreed with him that the ring should be in the immediate area. I set up and began the search, and got a couple of bottle caps, a pull tab and an old battery. After going over the area, I began a cross grid knowing that sometimes a ring can be on edge or turned in such a way as to not be able to find it in one direction, but able to find it if searched for in a perpendicular direction. During the third pass on the cross grid I got a good strong shallow signal, and reached down and plucked Mike’s ring from the sand. I asked Mike about his ring, type of metal, etc., and then opened my hand to show him what I had found. Needless to say, he was very happy, it was now about 2:00 PM. It took a little more than an hour from first call to recovery for me to bring a great big smile back on Mike’s face, and that what it is all about.

Mike sent this nice complement:

Hey Steve,

I hope all is well!  I wanted to thank you again for locating my wedding band this weekend.  I’ve included a testimonial below;  please let me know if I can make any changes!
I’m so thankful for the quick and expert help Steve was able to give me.  I was visiting my brother and a group of his friends for the weekend, and we had decided to visit the beach to enjoy the weather. I had absentmindedly placed my wedding band in the cup holder of my beach chair earlier in the day as I was playing volleyball and swimming.  As the sun moved, our group decided to pick up stakes and move to a different part of the beach.  It wasn’t until after we set up our new spot that I realized my wedding band was missing.  I ran back to the area where our group had previously been and searched frantically for 20 minutes.  Realizing I was probably in for a long day (or that my ring was gone for good), I found Steve online and gave him a call.
Steve’s response time was incredible.  I expected to wait for hours at the beach, but in 30 minutes I saw Steve with his equipment walking down the strand.  He asked me a few basic questions about where I thought the ring was, set up a search grid, and located it in about 15 minutes.  I was awestruck.
You can tell that Steve is a passionate craftsmen, and I’m sure this is what made finding the ring so simple for him.  As we wrapped up, I got a chance to pick his brain about how and why he does what he does.  You can sense that he has a deep understanding of his equipment and the right techniques for the job. More than that, though, Steve seems to have a mission.  You can tell that he gets a lot of joy from finding items that are priceless to those that hold them dear.
Don’t lose your wedding band.  If that happens though, call this man.  He will find what you lost, and put a smile on your face too.
– Mike Spiegel

Wedding Ring Lost at Park in Playa Del Rey…Found and Shipped Back to Utah

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

Last Friday night I just happened to be looking at Craigslist when I noticed a post that was talking about a wedding ring lost not too far from where I live. The post said that the gentleman was leaving on a plane to go home, and could not go back and search for the ring, I also noticed that it had been recently posted, so I decided to get in touch with him to let him know I would try to help. I will let Nate’s testimonial about the loss and recovery tell the rest of the story.

Nate’s story:

I was skeptical that anyone could find my ring, but Steve is amazing and really came through for me!

So, on the last day of our recent vacation, while on a shuttle to LAX to fly back home, I realized my wedding ring was no longer on my finger. I was devastated and figured the ring I’d worn 18 years was gone forever. I wasn’t even sure where it had fallen off. I contacted the theme park and car rental agency without any luck. The next night, in a desperate “what do I have to lose” attempt, I searched the internet for help. I hesitantly placed a Craiglist ad in the “lost and found” section with a Google maps screen shot and address of the beach area we went to before flying back home. I offered a reward as incentive so if someone found it they might consider returning it to me instead pawning it. I was texted right away by a guy named “Steve” who was a member of “TheRingFinders.com” I figured he was probably a scammer. He called and left me a voicemail too – so I verified the website, and his phone number area code, which actually was from California. I called him back (Friday at 9:00pm) and I provided him some more details about where I thought I may have lost my ring near the beach. He was nice and sounded legit on the phone, and didn’t ask for any money from me. Steve went out right away, and within an hour (Friday at 9:52pm), he had recovered my ring and texted me a picture that looked like my ring. I was shocked and beyond happy! Ang and I couldn’t believe it – and so I asked him to provide a clearer picture of the front of the ring (the first was taken with a flash in the dark area where he found it). He sent a clear picture when he got home and it was definitely my ring! We arranged shipment, and a few days later, it is back on my finger as I type this message! I’m so grateful for Steve’s help. He is the real deal! So, if you ever lose a ring (or keys, or phone, etc) and need help – even from out of state – theringfinders.com might be a good place to turn for help (rather than hoping some honest person might see your ad on Craigslist like I did – I got lucky!)….. and if you lose something at the beach near LAX, call up my new found friend Steve – he is amazing!

IPhone 6S lost at Venice Beach, CA…Found and Exuberantly Returned

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

I had just finished dinner last night when my phone rang. It was Nico who had lost his IPhone 6S on the beach earlier in the day, and was wondering if I could help him find it. I asked my usual questions, and figured it would be best to go immediately to do a search. I told Nico I would meet him there, so he could show me the area.

I met Nico at the beach about 7:45 PM, and we walked to the area, which was about a mile down the beach. As we walked I found out, he is a musician from Austria who is on tour with his band “Munchie Squad”, and that he would be traveling from the area soon, so finding the phone was really important. When we arrived in the area, I began my search at the most likely spot after he described what had happened. We were the only two people on the beach, except for the occasional police SUV. I covered the whole area digging every shallow signal knowing the phone could not be deep. It wasn’t there, so he showed me another possible area. It wasn’t there either. He then thought that they may have traveled in a diagonal from the original position, so I set a line from where we stood to the original spot, and began to grid. I walked about 15 feet, and found his phone. It was now about 10:00 PM. I handed the phone to Nico, and he celebrated like Rocky Balboa at the top of the stairs in Philly. I was so happy to have made his day!
