Lost Ring in Westlake Village Found!
I got a call from Mary this morning as she had accidentally lost her ring last week. She was out on her deck enjoying the creek view below and got to playing with her ring. As Murphy’s law states if something could go wrong it will and her ring slipped off her finger hit the deck and then disappeared. Evidently it had fallen through the slats in the wood deck and fallen below into a 6 inch cushion of oak leaves. Mary had tried to find it herself but couldn’t so she located me and I got out there immediately.
I took her broom with me to check for rattlesnakes as the underside of this deck is the perfect spot for one of those to hide and after I cleared the area I proceeded to get on my hands and knees to do a search with my handheld pinpointer. About 10 minutes in I got a solid tone in the leaves and I uncovered the ring. It was a sentimental ring for her as it was the only possession she had left that survived a fire at her other home last year where everything was destroyed. To some people it’s just a ring but to others these rings have a deeper meaning so I was ecstatic to find it and give it back.
